Great story. This is the first time I have seen a “otherness” (as JJ Godin phrases it), story written from this perspective. Easy reading and easy to follow. No work to get into. Very original and very enjoyable.
First time reading Ms. King and enjoyed her writing style. However, the plot was a bit scattered and hard to believe in spots even for a shifter world. I did enjoy aspects of the story and intend to give this series another try.
ALERT: This is a Book One with characters continuing their story at the conclusion of this one, although not a total cliffhanger. This is one reason for a star downgrade. Another star downgrade was due to the out of the blue development of mythology not previously alluded to and not really comprehensible. Overall the writing style was good and the storyline was ok even if a little abrupt.
I am currently reading it and so far I am really enjoying it.
Shifter world meets international politics. I found something missing, like the plot tried to encompass too much, with less words. I still enjoyed it, for a quick and quiet read.
A very intriguing story, well put together.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The plot was unique with twists and turns. The characters had good depth, strength, passion and familiarity. Great beginning and I am sure the next book will be great.
This is an awesome read! A well written shifter romance that will grab you from the start and not let go. With a strong kick ass heroine and a sexy mystery hero who have sizzling hot chemistry and with tons of action and suspense this is a series you will want to read!
The author really took the time to develop their relationship, and it was anything but predictable. Katherine is having a good time with her friends and being a lawyer in the city. She gets a message from her brother and father that she needs to come home. Katherine makes it home to Wild River to find out that there is a rogue wolf.
This is a great read with an awesome storyline that has well developed and engaging characters that have lots of chemistry. The smooth flow of the storyline makes for a good reading time.

Amazing Tale!
“Blood of Eden” is a suspenseful, action-pack paranormal romance that is well-written and original. The storyline is intriguing and the main characters are well-developed and authentic. Katherine and Quinn are strong, original characters and really make the book worth reading. There is a lot going on in this tale, but it is well worth the read and will keep you glued to the pages to the end.

Detail-oriented with good descriptions and a strong female lead! I particularly like paranormal stories that ground themselves in reality and describe family dynamics well.
Blood of Eden, by author J.J. King, was a terrific read! It is the story of Katherine LaFlamme, a Vancouver lawyer who happens to be part of a wolf shifter family. When tension and stressful events draw her home to her family, near Montreal, she meets Quinn Deschains, a sexy wolf shifter, and their attraction is instant. As the events of the book unfold, their attraction increases, and secrets about each come to light, making this an exciting, suspenseful story. This book was a real page turner and I couldn’t put it down! I look forward to beginning the second book immediately!
