Before the earth splinters into continents, before the first raindrops fall from the sky, only one family is destined for salvation. Denah is not among them by choice. Her husband is a disgrace, her sisters-in-law are cursed, and the family adheres to the rigid demands of an outdated God. Denah simply wants the life she deserves. She will follow her own forbidden path to fulfillment, encountering … encountering blackmail, jealousy, and betrayal along the way. What she deserves turns out to be far different than what she imagines, and she must face the tumultuous consequences of her decisions before the past and future of all mankind collide in the shadow of Noah’s ark.

I loved the way this story was woven around the old Biblical story and yet was fresh and original. There was nothing to say but great job. I would love to read more like this.
Very Historical about the life of Noah and his family.
If. You enjoy reading Biblical fiction that keeps you turning pages then here’s a good choice…
I love biblical fiction…I’ve read and heard the stories most of my life and really enjoy seeing the characters brought to life in a new way. Good book, good characters…I even had to find a way to read the next 2 books!
Adjustments needed to be made getting ready for the flood which was to come. How these things were done was very interesting seeing God’s hand at work.
I loved the book, however, it needed more editing. I found a few grammatical and word usage errors.
I’m thankful to have this view of what life might have been like for one of Noah’s daughter-in-laws and consequently for the family of Noah up to the entry into the Ark. The overlying framework of the story is biblically consistent. Well worth the read.
This was an unbelievably good story! A bit different, but in a good way. I would love to have more books along this line.
Great book, makes the people of the Bible more realistic.
A great retelling of the story or Noah and the ark he was directed to build. Since the original story isn’t very long, most of this in ‘added for dramatic effect’ as are most stories like this. And like most retellings this is sure to get many bad reviews, but I liked this story. How the sons struggled. How their wives (unnamed in the Bible) struggled as wives and daughters. How the animals appeared. Historical? Maybe, maybe not, but still a good read.
I loved it
Loved the creative way of looking at Biblical characters. Good job!
This is Biblical fiction with a few inaccuracies. The author does do a great job imagining (with some poetic license) the times just before the Flood of Noah. Interesting plot with a few twists.
A bit of editing needed but over all a good read.
After 29 chapters, I couldn’t read any more.
Beautifully descriptive language. Suspenseful. Neal takes the reader inside this work of historical christian fiction to experience the world of Noah and his family as they build the Ark. Their lives are complicated by misunderstanding and sin, yet faith in God and His forgiveness are portrayed realistically. Fiction based on truth. A great read.
I have always wondered what day to day life might have been like in many of the Bibles stories. As told in the Bible, it’s the “Big” picture that’s presented. Detail is not forefront, so I love to read anything that tries to fill in the gaps of detail. I’ll read all books in the series.
I LOVED THIS BOOK ….. VERY INTERESTING TRUE FACTS IN THIS STORY. WILL BE LOOKING FORWARD TO BE READING MORE BY THIS AUTHOR.
It is almost all fiction since we know so little about Noah, but I enjoyed it. Good writing. Opened up the days of Noah to me, though probably not true at all.
Excellent, thought provoking look at the ancient world and Noah’s Flood. The characters are well written and the plot is interesting whether you are familiar with the Biblical account or not. The author provides information for further research into her position. Wonderful young earth historical fiction.
Very interesting. Not totally correct, but fun to read
