Favorite Quote: I am not the hero you have constructed in your story, little one. I am the villain”
Review:
I loved this book. There was still allot of back and forth going on between Beckham and Reyna but it was moving somewhere so it’s was oke.
Beckham could still be really cruel with some of his actions. He could have handled things better. He could have handled Reyna better. I’m not sure why he does what he does at times. Is he unsure what he wants? Is he scared or is he really clueless about how his actions affected Reyna.
What is this book about:
This book stars of where the last one ended. Reyna was kidnapped and is being held a hostage by Backhams boss, William Harrington. It turned out that Reyna didn’t have the same bloodtype as Beckham, no she has a very rare bloodtype. A bloodtype that happens to be the same as Harrington.
Harrington really has many screws loose in that head of his. He’s really a massive creep.
The only thing that is helping Reyna to keep going is the thought that Beckham will come for her, that they will be reunited. After 50 something days that is harder to do everyday. It became even more harder when she see’s Beckham has not only gotten back together with his on screen girlfriend but he has proposed to her.
When Reyna isn’t sure how much more she can take she is being rescued by a rebel organisation Elle. Now Reyna is dead sett on making Harrington pay for all he has done to her and others.
Is there still a chance for Reyna and Beckham, a chance that what she saw wasn’t the real truth or has Beckham really moved on from her….
What did I like about this book:
I liked that Reyna grew stronger, not that I wished her to be tortured as she was, but I do like that she isn’t that naive anymore. That she is willing to fight and push towards.
I like her and Beckham together. Like I said there was still some back and forth going on that was really frustrating but anyone can see they where made for each other.
Be aware of that cliffhanger! It’s a brutal one

5 amazing Stars
K.A. Linde has the ability to make me feel for most of her characters and Reyna is no exception. I should probably mention that both the author and I share a love of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. According to the note in Blood Match, it was the starting point for both of our loves of vampires. The difference is Ms. Linde is making sure that my vampire addiction is being met with some deliciously decadent vampire fantasies that Buffy could only dream of.
Becks is so much more than a vampire. He is her everything. In a world where very little has meaning and even fewer have power, their bond seemed to be more. One stupid act of fear brought it all crumbling down.
Reyna has to keep on surviving. She has to…for her, for Becks, for her family. If only it were that easy. Being at the mercy of the most vile being ever isn’t exactly a walk in the park.
Blood Match is the second in the series and its definitely got my attention. Blood Type snared my interest but Blood Match took my heart. Rebellion and the nerve to fight got her this far, Reyna is going to need something more to survive this.
While we gear up for Blood Cure, I’m going to buy chocolate and tissues. I am afraid of the ‘bloody mess’ this will make of me!
Blood Match by K.A. Linde is book Two in the Blood Type series. This continues the story of Reyna Carpenter and Beckham Anderson. You really do need to read the previous book ‘Blood Type’ before reading this one. This picks up with Reyna being taking and now in the hands of William Harrington. Beckham working through his feelings and working to get her back.
This is just such a exciting and page turning read! I must have the next book that continues their story soon!
Blood Match is the second book in the Blood Type series and definitely CANNOT be read as a standalone. In fact, the way the book starts confused me a bit and because it had been a several months since I read the first book, I had to go back and check how it ended to make sure I wasn’t forgetting something important.
Similar to the first book, I’ll describe this as “vampire lite” and if you’re not into PNR, I wouldn’t let that deter you from giving this series a shot. There’s some intriguing world-building done, but nothing too out-there or unfamiliar.
Reyna was certainly less wishy-washy in this installment and I felt like she evolved through the course of the story much more so than she did in the first book. I also felt like I got a slightly better read on Beckham, although I still found it hard to connect to him. During the first book and much of this one, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I didn’t quite “get” the connection that Reyna and Beckham had, but that was addressed at the end.
Again, as this is a true trilogy, this ends on a hell of a cliffy, so if you’re not willing to wait for the next book, wait until it’s out.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*
5 Perfect Stars!!
I didn’t think Linde could top Blood Type, but man, was I ever wrong! Blood Match kept me on the edge of my seat. I was hooked from page one and could. Not. Put. It . Down!! It was enthralling. It was riveting. Linde pulls you in to Becks and Reyna’s world with a finesse that will leave you begging for more. From the heartache and sorrow, to the happiness and love. Blood Match is one book, you won’t want to miss! A definite page turner that was unputdownable! I cannot wait for Blood Cure to come out!
First of all, Blood Match is the second installment in the Blood Type Series and you need to have read Blood Type first. Blood Match picks up right where Blood Type left off so you will be lost.
It’s going to be hard to write this review without giving away any spoilers but I’ll try my best. In Blood Match, Reyna and Beckham’s love is tested even more. There are a lot of secrets in their world that they are both trying to uncover. They are pulled apart and pushed back together, really testing the special bond that we all know that they have.
Blood Match this series is so addictive that once you start reading, you can’t put it down. I was wrapped into their world and didn’t want to get out. I’m so happy that Linde has created this wonderful paranormal world that keeps me begging for more. And holy cliffhangers. I’m DYING for the next one. Full on grabby hands, begging for the next book to be in my hands NOW.
If you like paranormal romances, then you need to try this series out. It’s a bit of a different spin on paranormal that speaks to the geek in me as well. Seriously, give it a go!
I can’t right now!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am broken!!!!!!!!
Amazing!!!!!!
I finally managed to get my feelings on check to write this review. I seriously had to think long and hard to come up with words that would do justice to this book. I am still in shock. I am still broken. Probably will be until I get book 3. FYI, I need book 3 so K.A. Linde, you better hurry up. I am in pins and needles. I came up with all kinds of scenarios to justify the ending of Blood Match but I just cannot. K.A. Linde, you are one cruel lady but still a genius. Your ability to write a refreshing continuation to a highly charged and action packed paranormal romance is astounding. I love paranormal romances but Blood Match definitely cemented why I love them. The sizzling scenes. The escapism. The danger. The unforgettable and luscious characters. Blood Match COMPELLED my mind, REJUVENATED my soul and FED my heart. Blood Match is a devastatingly beautiful paranormal romance that will leave you tongue tied. I am still trying to pick up the remains of my heart from the floor.
Blood Match is the second book in the Blood Type series and picks off where we left in Blood Type. New alliances are formed. New characters are introduced, Survival is the new game. I am not going to lie but Blood Match killed me. Every page sunk me in so deep. Every sentence was deadly to my inhibitions. I was wretched. I was ruined. I was turned upside down. Wicked. Fiery. Dangerous. Sublime. Exciting. Blood Match was a brilliant and high paced paranormal romance with a blazing plot that captivated me. Blood Match was a story of paranormal love. It was a story of survival. It was a story of a battle between good and evil. Man, I indulged this story. I inhaled this story. I ate up this story. Blood Match caused an inferno in my soul. Blood Match opened a big hole inside me. K.A, Linde, you are incredible. Your writing is unique. Who knew a paranormal romance written by you could touch me like this. K.A. Linde’s words just pull you in. She just makes you escape with an epic and different vampire tale. Blood Match was a well written book filled with angst, twisted secrets, intensity and a breathtaking romance that will ache you.
I love Reyna and Beckham. I am so head over in heels in love with them as their relationship develops. I freaking adore their chemistry. It is heavy. It is sexy. It is smoking. It is intense. And boy, did it make me quiver. Reyna and Beckham as always just bring sexiness and life to the story. Reyna is freaking amazing. She is a spitfire. In this book, she goes through a lot that can damage one’s soul but she comes back ready to fight and protect. Like always, she is impulsive and gets in trouble. K.A. Linde made me lust for a vampire. Hard. I lust for Beckham. He is strong. He is powerful. He is broody and violent. I just want a piece of Beckham all night long. Is that okay to ask because I am just addicted to him. To his protectiveness and possessiveness over Reyna. To his vampire nature that makes me hot. Beckham definitely makes my ovaries sing to his tune lol.
K.A. Linde, I need book 3 like yesterday. I am coming with all kinds of scenarios and theories. I will not rest until I have book 3 in my kindle.
Well, well, well,… where do I start… Let me just say that I am head over heels in love with this series!!! It’s perfect! It’s not often that a series can capture my heart and my mind so fast and for so long (#bookhangover). I don’t think I can find the right words to describe how amazing Blood Match is. This story is unique and has more depth than most of other books I’ve read. It’s thought through and lets you be part of this experience. It transports you into another world where everything is unknown and mysterious, even dangerous. Believe me when I tell you this book won’t let you go. It’s an amazing experience to read this paranormal/dystopian story and just like in the first book, Blood Type, you won’t be able to rest until you’ve finished.
“Everything fit her like a dream. If only she wouldn’t be living a nightmare.”
Blood Match continues right where we left off and you’re once again thrown into this world where humans and vampires live together, divided in two classes.
The second book reads a little bit different than the first. You already know all the important things you still had to learn in Blood Type. It’s exciting and emotional. All the things happening in this book just makes you want more; more Reyna and Beckham, more vampires, more love and intrigues, and just more of this beautiful and dangerous world.
Personally I love reading romance. Every book I read has to have at least a little bit of love drama in it. Also I am a huge, HUGE fan of dystopian stories, which are not that many great out there. And Blood Match just fits perfectly in this category. Once again I fell deeply in love with KA Linde’s story of vampires, politics, love, intrigues and betrayal. And yet again KA Linde managed to make me LOVE and HATE her at the same time. Especially because this book ends in a cliffhanger. I am so anxious to find out what happens next! So if you start reading this book be prepared to get a huge book hangover. It’s already a few days and I still can’t get Reyna and Beckham out of my head. Their story is etched into my soul. I loved everything about it and I’m dying to know what happens next.
Mind-blowing. I stared at the very last word of this book as if I could conjure it to continue, that’s how awesome Blood Match is. I literally sobbed at the end… Cliffhanger from hell almost killed me!
I think my brain is still stuck in the amazing world that K.A. Linde created and my heart… well my heart is still a little bruised.
First things first, if you haven’t read Blood Type (the first book in this series) you have to read it in order to understand Reyna and Beckham’s story and their world and after that you can pick up Blood Match and follow this compelling love story.
So, Blood Match picks up where Blood Type left off, Reyna is in serious trouble and Beckham can’t help her because it could risk everything. The story starts slow but it kept me totally engaged, the mind games are absolutely insane and Reyna’s interactions with Harrington, the world’s most powerful vampire, are totally unpredictable. Honestly, I loved how the story kept building, the tension kept rising and how every action caused an extraordinary reaction (or twist).
Will Reyna survive Harrington’s mind games? Is Beckham strong enough to fight Harrington? Survival is the ultimate challenge. And love… Love may or may not conquer all.
Compelling, unpredictable, intense, stunning, brilliantly written with a captivating story line, Blood Match is the real deal. Honestly, I would say this series is the best series I’ve read this year. Can’t wait to get my hands on Blood Cure!
This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased, honest opinion.
WOW!!!!!! That ending BLEW me away!!! I don’t have words….I wish the entire book was on the level the ending was on. I’m going to start this review with the things I didn’t like about this book and then work my way up to the things I enjoyed. Just to end it on a positive note.
The thing I didn’t care for the most in this story was it started to have this BDSM feel to it. Beckham became this domineering/dominate guy and Reyna was the submissive partner. It was really strange and not something that I enjoy reading in my romances. Beckham would make commands and Reyna would snap to it without much thought. Reyna would end up with bruises and feeling pain but thought it was okay/worth it. I just didn’t like that aspect at all. Reyna also had blinders on when it came to Beckham. No matter what he did now or previously was going to change her mind about him. Reyna had this image of who she thoughts Beckham was, her Becks, and nothing was going to sway her from that.
Also, there was a lot of science talk in this one. We had so much going on and trying to understand blood matches and blood types that it just became way too much. I also wasn’t a fan of Beckham in this sequel. He became a totally different guy from the one we met in the first book. It’s like we mainly saw Beckham….but not so much Becks anymore. The side he usually let come out around Rayna. The more human side if you will.
On the more positive side of things, I loved this story at its core. My jaw fell to the floor several times throughout this book. I loved the twists and turns. I was constantly on the edge of my seat when the story was upfront wondering where things would go. I think this story has so much potential but sadly veered off course too far for me to enjoy it. I did love the first book so very much and look forward to reading more from this author. Sadly, this just didn’t work for me.
This story picks up right where Blood Type left off!
Reyna has been taken by Visage. Harrington needs her blood. She is the only living match that can save him.
Visage has many dirty secrets. They kidnapped Reyna but many others as well, conducting experiments and treating them like guinea pigs.
Reyna has hope of getting free and reconciling with Beckham. Before she can orchestrate her own escape, Elle comes to her rescue.
Living free after eight weeks of being used for her blood and kept like a prisoner is not easy. And getting Beckham back is even more difficult.
Reyna is fearless and resilient. She fights for what’s right and she has hope for a better future. However, when the loses continue to mount and her reason for living is taken away, Reyna will have to find the will to keep on fighting!
I am bingeing this series and loving it! I cannot wait for the conclusion.
WOW! Just W.O.W. Blood Match was one of those books that grabbed me from the first page and I found myself drawing out my reading time because I didn’t want the book to end. At Reyna and Beckham’s first scene together, I still thought he was a jerk, but I have to say he did prove himself throughout this installment. In true Linde fashion, BE READY FOR THE ENDING!!!! I thought I called it several times, but I wasn’t even close. Never.saw.it.coming.
Story is super engaging. An interesting take on the Hunger Games, Twilight and 50 Shades. Readers who loved these book might enjoy this one.
Wish there had been an editor to make this book amazing. Skipped over too many parts that were repetitive or boring. However, the story makes up for it and it is still worth giving it a go!
This book held me captive from the first word to the last. I couldn’t read it fast enough I devoured each word needing the next. I loved this story and can’t wait for the final book
Mashup of Twilight, 50 Shades and the Hunger Games. However, the character development of the main character, Reyna, made her into a very selfish whiny young lady. For example, she supposedly made friends with a girl she rescued and didn’t even bother to get her a Christmas present when the other girl put a lot of effort into choosing a book for Reyna. It was that they were friends because of their circumstance rather than a true friendship, which was what was suggested to the reader. She was being given everything and taking everything. And the book? What was the point of the book she was given when it’s hardly alluded to again. The story is so close to being there, I can see why so many people like it. It just didn’t work for me as developed.
Please give us more character development for Reyna so that we want to keep cheering for her. So much potential. As written, I was done with the series after the cliffhanger.
Well hell….
What am I supposed to do with my life now?
The drama and excitement are certainly amped up in this installment of this captivating series.
Reyna finds herself in a most difficult situation, but fights her way through.
Here’s what I loved:
The introduction of new characters. Seeing more of the resistance and how they’re working to right the wrongs was fantastic. This book has a lot more social commentary than expected. The romance actually feels like a secondary character. It’s an engaging read.
Obvi, I love Beckham. The progression of his character and relationship with Reyna were exactly what I wanted. I needed to see his conviction.
Same with Reyna! I needed to see her dedication to her man and the cause. I loved her in this one.
The ending left me sobbing in my Cheerios, but I trust this author to put me back together again.
If paranormal reads are your jam, you have to read this series!

WHAT THE F#@$ JUST HAPPENED!!??!! Oops…. Pardon my language. But, seriously, just like the first book in this series, I was completely blown away at what happened. Then there’s that freakin’ cliffhanger. Wow… Really!!??!! This was a heart-pounding and intense read all the way to the end. Moreover, one MUST read book 1, Blood Type, first before reading this. Yeah, this is one series that you will need to read in order to get the full story.
Where to begin… Hmmm. The story itself follow after the cliffhanger in Blood Type. I would have to say that Blood Match is like a slow burn that hits it’s maximum heat where it counts. Reyna and Beckham’s story continues to unravel and evolve further into this second book of the series. The character development is consistent and progressive with each book. It is obvious that Reyna has come a long way since the first book. We are also introduced to more characters that are closely intertwined with Reyna and Beckham’s story.
As for the world building, it remains consistent and it progresses. More players are involved and so are locations. Yup! Setting is important in creating the dark and gripping atmosphere and environment that helps the story and characters come together. And, this second installment nailed it in creating this dark world of vampires and humans.
This series has an interesting and unique spin on vampire/human romances. Blood Match took this crazy and addicting romance to another level. In this second installment of the Blood Type series, Blood Match is an emotionally charged romance that is laced with action, suspense, mystery, and even espionage. These elements made for an intriguing and heart-pounding adventure.
I am so looking forward to the third book in this series.
This is the book in the middle of the Blood Type trilogy, so naturally it felt like a transition book, since nothing yet is solved in this world where vampires and humans are fighting for dominance. It took off after Reyna’s kidnapping and ran off right into a tale of suspense that had me biting my nails and a sweet story of love and devotion, to end in a spectacular cliffhanger, again.
The book starts with a sex scene between Beckham and Reyna that had me confused for a little while. Then when Reyna wakes up from a dream and faces her current reality, it makes for a very tragic moment. She’s imprisoned and is being robbed of her blood every week. At least, the evil William Harrington is not actually biting her, but still Reyna feels violated. The sense of alienation, and not knowing what is happening with Beckham, is harrowing.
I’m not sure how much of the plot to give away and not spoil the plot for future readers, but since this is a romance featuring Beckham and Reyna, it’s sufficient to know that she is rescued and brought into the Elle organization headquarters. She meets with new and old friends and joins the resistance organization. She wants to assist in their work and is held back because of her blood type, which makes her very special.
As with the previous book, we have the issues with Penelope Sky, who also loves Beckham and wants him with her. Reyna and Beckham resume their love story after a bumpy first meeting and their love runs fierce and wild. They are more involved as ever as Becks shares more of himself and his story. Reyna is still impulsive and prone to get herself into problems. She’s courageous and driven, a far cry from the naive and helpless girl from the first book.
The book started a little slow but as the story unfolds it gathers speed and has you biting your hands. Visage is into world domination and Harrington is going forward, no holds barred. Beckham’s work as an Elle Resource is compromised after Reyna’s kidnapping and the resistance work feels futile. There’s a sense of urgency and hopelessness and determination.
The book ends with an incredible cliffhanger and now the days until the next installment feel endless. It is addictive, compelling, riveting, and all time suspenseful.
I had waited anxiously for this book to arrive. While my co-review was not that into the first book, I loved it! The same is true with this one. The first time I “cracked open” my kindle version of this ARC and began to read, I was hooked. Reyna and Beckham’s story intrigues me. The title intrigued me.
In this installment of the trilogy we are introduced to additional characters Gabe, we have met him, we just didn’t realize it, Meghan, Jodi, Bronwyn (I have to wonder what mysterious wonders she will play in the future) and the leader of Elle.
This is a highly packed, fast-paced story led by sex, love, lust, power-hungry, angry, PTSD, depressed, anxious, happy men and women who are out to survive. It makes you wonder would you lose your humanity in the face of a crisis? We say no, yet have we not already? Look around. How much do you hate? How much easier is it to look the other way than to reach out and help? Maybe in Blood Type all Reyna needed was a little help rather than to end up in Harrington’s prison.
OMG! I said I would not get on my soapbox for a fictional book, yet I did it! K.A. Linde, you set me afire with this trilogy! I am ready to join the resistance!

5 CLIFFHANGER Stars
Heed that above. Blood Match most certainly ends on a humdinger of a cliffhanger. As the second installment of the Blood Type series, this cannot be read as a standalone. The novels are on the shorter side, more serial than a series, so it’s imperative they be read in order.
Blood Type left off with a bang and Blood Match flawlessly continues a few weeks into the future, with zero confusion to the reader. From word one, I was hooked, reading the novel in a single sitting, unable to put it down… only to have the wind knocked out of me.
If you’re a fan of Linde, you know she’s the queen of angst and the gut-punch sensation, which is why I adore her frustratingly delicious novels. The ending of Blood Match is no exception, as Linde connects you to her characters, has you rooting for them, has them resonating in your blood, and then she flips it around on you and you’re left floored.
Since you need to read Blood Type first, I’m not going to give a rundown of what happened in the first installment. Politics is the focus of the series, more so than the paranormal world-building, but they go hand-in-hand in importance, as it’s fangy politics influencing human-run government. The fangs want to be in control. The humans are trying to keep their grip on the tenuous control they harbor. Elle, the underground revolutionary group, wants equality between humans and vampires.
Our heroine is a pawn in their war.
Reyna has been kidnapped, held captive, and used for the rarity of her blood type. The vamps want her for her blood, but so does Elle. Forever a pawn, with zero autonomy, Reyna has lost her naïveté, hardened by reality, she comes to understand how it’s not good or bad but a rush to power, and power is the ultimate corrupter.
Dealing with a broken heart, learning to cope with her new situation, Reyna pulls a few immature, TSTL (too stupid to live) antics that had me groaning and rolling my eyes, but it was within her character traits so I let it go. She’s pining away for Becks, yet also maturing by the second.
Blood Match was an excellent continuation and an even better lead-in to what I assume is the final climax of the series. I had held off for a few weeks before reading, sensing it would be a cliffhanger, and now I wish I waited a bit longer since the only thing I want right now is Blood Cure.

After a major cliffhanger in book one, I was very much looking forward to Blood Match. At times it felt is a little bit Fifty Shades meets The Hunger Games but without the BDSM, and I was in book heaven.
The story started well, but for me it slowed down a little in the middle. As we move through and Reyna’s circumstances change, and new characters are introduced, my brain was making up all sorts of theories about what was going to happen next. Am I the only reader that thought that Jodie was way too well adjusted? Anyway, as the story was dealing with regular life issues my imagination ran away with me. I kept waiting for something bad to happen. Reyna has a knack for getting into trouble everywhere she goes.
The slowdown in the middle of the story, it seems, was just to get us comfortable as the story ramps up and up until it gives us a killer final scene with an even bigger cliffhanger than the first book. I think I read that whole scene with my heart in my mouth with “Oh My God!” running on repeat in my head. I was left stunned. All my theories went out the window as my brain tried to figure out where to next. I can’t wait to get my hands on Blood Cure to find out how this fantastic trilogy ends.

If the first book in this series was about Reyna’s personal experience, this second book introduces readers to the wider dystopian reality surrounding Reyna and Beckham. I loved the history, the politics, and the complex struggle for power. Reyna is at the centre of this book but now she is more informed and more useful.
Despite the cover, this is more of a dystopian adventure than a paranormal romance. Reyna and Beckham’s relationship is essential to the story but it isn’t always at the centre of the book. Both are becoming interesting characters in their own right and it was actually the other friendships and alliances beyond the central romance that held my interest in this second book.
Especially reading pre-publication, the cliffhanger at the end of this book feels completely unfair. And unnecessary. This second book is brilliant, and the series is strong enough to keep readers excited – without the emotional blackmail at the end of this book. Needless to say, I can’t wait for the next story.
Dawn –
This is book two in the series, it starts right where book one finished, therefore should not be read as a standalone.
Reyna has been kidnapped and is being held by a man who wants to rule the world.
Reyna is trying to mend the pieces of her broken heart while trying to stay strong.
There is so much angst in this book, I loved it. I was hooked from the very first page and can I just say, holy cliffhanger Batman! It kind of destroyed me. I really cannot wait for the next instalment to this story. This author really knows how to keep you hanging on.
