Great start to what is going to be an amazing new series by White. Estelle, or should I say Celeste, is one really powerful witch that is destined to be the Regent of Devil’s Gate. The problem is that she has been in hiding for years while she finished growing up. Now her life is interrupted by powers she cannot control, vampires trying to hurt her, men she should be attracted to yet us, and lots of surprises just to shake things up a bit. Some incredible world building full of intriguing characters so different you never know what to expect. I look forward to book two! Perfect for fans of the genre. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
I had seen this audiobook floating around for awhile and I hadn’t heard of this RH author before so I was super intrigued to listen to it, just never got around to it. I dont know why I stayed away from it for so long, I loved it right from the beginning! I was super intrigued with the characters and relationships Grace developed already in this first party of the trilogy. I loooooved me the possessive vampire and the adorable snuggly werewolf/wolf shifter also warmed my heart. I can’t wait to learn more about the delectable and austere fae! I liked the way things were lining up at the end (maaaan that cliffy was tough haha). I am eager to see how the pack issue is handled, learn more about her sister did/why she did it so she could be the one to unite them all, and also how the guys are going to handle sharing her haha. I know the vampire is not keen . I will say I was saddened to see the storyline for her best friend. Like I understood why, but I always love those characters in harems so it was sad to see his story take a different turn.
For the narration, Sarah Puckett rarely disappoints and she killed this one yet again. I love her inflections, love how she approached the story and character. All around A+ in my book. She is definitely on the permanent list of loved narrators. Can’t recommend enough!
Would definitely recommend this book and series. I am dying to get book 2 and binge listen the whole series

I love reading book.
wow this book will have you crazy excited about reading this book. this is a thirsty read that will have you loving this dark twisted read.
Noooooooooo you cannot leave it there!!!! Just as the story was getting to the really, really interesting bit….it stopped!!!! Ugh, I got caught up more and more as the book went on. The characters unfolded as did their destiny and place in the whole thing. Learning about the world they inhabit and how it works. I really enjoyed it and am now desperate to know what happens next and how they’re going to sort it.
Sarah Puckett is just fabulous as the narrator, voices for each character that are distinct and easy to know who is who and a really great presentation of the book. Brilliant all-round.
This story has everything! I was totally wrapped up in heart-sinking drama, nail-biting suspense, and thigh-clenching sexual tension. It totally drew me in. I’ve given it 5 Very Magical Stars and I can’t wait for the trilogy to continue. Blood Lust: A Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance – (Devil’s Gate #1) is by far my favourite book from Grace White yet. She has converted me into a lover of all things paranormal, given me a thirst for vampires, a longing for wolves, and a desire for faeries, while whetting my appetite for reverse harem.
Celeste’s awakening to her destiny unfolds to explain how she is the chosen one to unite the species living in Devil’s Gate. It is an intriguing premise and the connection, attraction, and desire she feels towards her three guardians is ever so tantalizing. Her bond with Gage is strong and he holds her heart but as her heart pulls her in three directions she learns that her love for one does not diminish her love for another, it enhances it, makes her stronger. It is a fight she cannot win so giving in to her heart and not having to choose is the best part. Sitting back and watching the fireworks fly as the males come to terms with how to share and play nice is going to be epic and no doubt will deliver a few rounds of laughter. Grace White has spun a tale to unleash your arousal and given us the perfect setting to enjoy vampire, wolf, and faerie in all their male glory.
The heroine is not a shrinking violet. She speaks her mind and stands on her own two feet as she learns her way and shows no fear. With the aide of the guardians her sister put in place, Celeste becomes the strong Regent she was born to be as she fights for unity and peace in Devil’s Gate.
Book One has ended with a heart-stopping and dramatic turn of events that will leave all readers counting the days until Moon Cursed is released into the wild.
Audiobook Version:
This series starts out with a bang! I love the dynamic that Grace presents. A Witch with untried powers; thrust into the center of a paranormal war over Devils Gate. I was quickly drawn into each character. They were well developed and easy to fall for.
The narration was fantastic! Sarah brought great depth and personality to each and every character. I had zero complaints.
I would rave about this book in the PNR world any day but the fact that it is Reverse Harem as well makes it even better! I cannot wait for the next book to come out!

Blood Lust by Grace White is a Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance. I listened to this book on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett. Sarah did an amazing job narrating. This is the first book of Grace White’s that I have read and look forward to reading more of her books in the future. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Romance, Paranormal, or Reverse Harem books.
To be honest I was worried I wouldn’t like the heroine at first, she seemed lost and mean to her only friend. But that didn’t last long thank goodness, she changed her attitude and faced her new life. I really liked the strength and backbone she showed. I really liked all the men and unlike most reverse harems these alphas don’t want to share. Mmmmm, yummy alphas. Along with the great steam factor this book also had mystery and intrigue. I fell in love with the characters and am rooting for them. I don’t know how I will handle the wait until the next book in this trilogy!
The narrator did a fantastic job giving everyone distinctive voices, especially hot deep voices for the guys. She made it feel as if it was all being played out in front of me. Amazing job!
Audiobook review:
Blood Lust the first book in the Devil’s Gate Series introduces you to this new paranormal world with well detailed world building descriptions & settings. The synopsis is highly intriguing and the cover is alluring. Estelle Cotillard (Celeste) last of the La Fleur witches (The Vessel) is to unite the species living in Devil’s Gate. A dark world with magical & mystical beings, mystery & intrigue encircle the plot twist. Secrets revealed, trials to come, and who is friend or foe. With unanswered questions will Celeste be able to fulfill her destiny set out for her? I loved Celeste character as she is astute, complex, driven & resilient with untapped magical power. The male character’s are dark, mysterious and sexy. A slow burn that keeps you craving more.
Narrator Sarah Puckett did a fabulous performance. I was able to easily distinguish between the characters. Every character is spoken with depth and eloquence. The narator brings to light the narrative & its character’s.
With so many unanswered questions I’m looking forward to listening to the next novel in this witchy reverse harem paranormal romance series.
Amazing Story & Narration 5 Fabulous Stars
Blood Lust: A Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance
Devil’s Gate Series, Book 1
By: Grace White
Narrated by: Sarah Puckett
I love the magical world Grace White created, one with witches, shifters, far and vampires. The storylines are unique, imaginative and well written. The characters are well developed, I love the inner strength Estelle finds as she finds out more of who she is, as she grows in to the person or should I say witch she is meant to be, Celeste La Fleur. I love how the plot brings her to the three hot men whom happen to be different species and not a fan of each others kind. I loved how Gage was there for Celeste from the beginning, he is her protector and guide and lover. Until she meets the shifter and the Fae. This book has it all, it is emotional at times, with lots of action, drama and romantic heat, also nice plotting in regards who Celeste really is and what she intends to do for all the species. This ends in a cliffhanger and I am really looking forward to book 2. I have a feeling all hell is going to break loose and be even hotter! Can’t wait!
I listened to the audible edition, Sarah Puckett is an amazing narrator, storyteller and voice performer. She brings the characters to life & her performance enhances an already great story to another level of awesomeness!
Thank you AudiobookObsession
This is a great start to a series I am sure will be fantastic. This book caught my attention in the first chapter and kept me reading all night! Celeste and Gage are quite a shocking pair who are trying to find a way to get all the supernaturals on board and heading towards the same goal. Lucas and Laken are pure hotness with a touch of werewolf and fae magic. Who knows what is going to happen next? Steam 9/10 * Sweet 9/10 * 1st POV * RH * Cliffhanger
Blood Lust is the first book in Devil’s Gate series by Grace White and I loved it! Grace shares with the readers a new take on the supernatural community bringing together a dynamic group of characters in this paranormal reverse harem book. Celeste La Fleur is our main character who has been hiding for the last six years since her sister sacrificed herself to keep Celeste safe. Celeste is the last of the La Fleur bloodline of powerful witches and is destined to be the Regent of Devil’s Gate. As Regent it is her job to keep the peace between the Vampires, Wolves, Fae and Witches and keep Devil’s Gate safe. Now that she has come to age to fulfill her destiny there is no one left to teach her how to use her magic or how to be Regent. This leads her to three alphas a vampire Gage, Laken the wolf and the faerie Lucas. All have sworn to protect her and help her take her place as Regent and help her unite the magical community who are on the verge of war. This book grabs your attention right from the beginning full of action, suspense, love and sacrifice. I can’t wait to see what’s in-store for Celeste and her men in the next book of the series!
This is the first paranormal reverse harem book that I’ve read. This is also the first paranormal book that I’ve read in awhile. It is by far one of the best paranormal books that I’ve read in awhile. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to take a chance on reading it, but I’m SO glad that I did. I’m so glad that I got to meet Celeste, Gage, Lucas, and Laken. I do have to warn you that this book does end on a bit of a cliffhanger. I’ve got built of anticipation and I’m seriously looking forward to the next book in this series! I also downloaded The Vessel so I can get a look into what caused Celeste’s sister’s death. What does this mean in my words? This means that I LOVE this book and am looking forward to reading more of this author’s paranormal work. It’s a slow burn and keeps you wanting more, especially where Lucas and Laken are involved. I’ve already fallen in love with Gage and Laken (though he did take a bit to warm up to.. he just had to stop fighting his inner feelings). I LOVE Celeste. She may seem shy and weak at first but she’s got strength and a strong inner fight hidden beneath all of her confusion and the unknown. I look forward to her inner bad**s truly coming out! If you want to read a great reverse harem paranormal definitely read this book!
4.5 stars
This is the first time I’ve this author and it won’t be the last. Getting my criticism out-of-the-way it just wasn’t Harem-y enough for me but that’s the only fault with the whole book I had. It was an absolutely fantastic start to this series. Estelle lives as a human after the death of her sister and the keeper of Devil’s Gate. Once the glamour spell was lifted off her she became Celeste the rightful heir to the keeper of the Devil’s Gate. But the only problem is she cannot control her powers, vampire, wolf and Fae try to help her gain control. With all the different factions gunning for her will her and her man come out unscathed? I can’t wait till next installment of the series!!
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Estelle Cotillard feels more at ease when she’s around family. Gage Coreil always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Terrin is an important person in Estelle’s life. He’s more than what usually a secondary character seems to be. There’s also a prequel that is important to this story. The Vessel should be read first because it’s a better way to understand the pain that you see at the beginning of Estelle’s story.
There are moments of confusion and of anger. The author does a great job at getting those feelings across. There’s a moment where Estelle’s confusion will lead to a discovery and that’s a ride that I’m glad to be on. Just as in our own lives, there are moments when we wish that our family members could be with us as we weave our way through the road blocks that can be put in front of us.
Now the author could have left the story just like that and I would have been a happy camper. But part of life’s discoveries is also finding a person to share your life with. Our author adds that into the mix and it had me wondering what else she may have in store for her characters and for us. This may have been a short read but it didn’t seem that way. Nothing seemed chopped or rushed. But the author did leave me wanting more – the ending is anything but. Good thing I only have to wait a couple of months to carry on this adventure she put me on.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Blood Lust, book 1 in the Devil’s Gate series, a new RH paranormal series by Grace White. I liked the plot and the twits, however, it was a bit messy to read. I felt it was a bit unorganized, but at the end it was starting to get better.
Celeste La Fleur, has been living the last six years in hiding, as a human. But now, she is needed. The paranormal world needs a Regent, and she is next in line. But, since she has been living like a human, she hasn’t been practicing her magic skills..and now she has to learn control! But who can she trust?
Blood Lust is full of testosterone and attraction. It’s a fast-paced story, filled with action and bedroom activities. And paranormal politics between Vampires, Wolfs, Faes and Witches.
-Stina, A Woman & Her Books
Saved only because her sister made the ultimate sacrifice, Celeste La Fleur has been hiding in plain sight for the past few years from the magical community she was born to lead. As the last La Fleur witch, it’s up to Celeste to restore balance between the warring species of vampire, fae and wolves so that the human inhabitants of Devil’s Gate can escape the constant fear and threats of death and violence that have become their existence.
Now that Celeste has come of age, it’s up to her to claim her rightful place as Regent of Devil’s Gate. Doing so won’t be easy, however and she’ll need to rely on the three men who swore to her sister they would protect and support Celeste with their own lives.
As Celeste starts navigating her new role with the aid of the vampire Gage Coreil, faerie Lucas Cassel and wolf Laken Gallant she not only begins to explore her powers but also her undeniable draw and attraction to these three men.
Ohhh Grace White has brought together quite the delectable trio to guide and protect Celeste as she takes over the role of Regent of Devil’s Gate! All three men are leaders within their communities and about as alpha as can be . . . and, they all want Celeste! I can’t wait to watch these relationships develop as all four join together to end the war over power and supremacy happening in Devil’s Gate.
The author does a fabulous job setting up the this series, based on a prophecy that will forever join these characters. We get to spend time with each as they interact with Celeste, letting us know that sharing her affections won’t be easy for them, and giving readers a sneak peek at the sparks that will fly!
Devil’s Gate has a much darker feel that prior books I’ve read from this author, but I am totally loving it. While this book leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger, I found it to be completing intriguing and unique and I’m impatiently awaiting the next installment! 5 stars!
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. ***
Ok… so I read the prequel to this book and a part of me wishes I didn’t. I loved the prequel and Sierra. It just turned me off to the relationship between Celeste and Gage. Gage was with Sierra first and it just took me some time to get over that. It just seemed like he was with Celeste to fill the gap missing in his heart Sierra left when she killed herself to save Celeste. However, with Grace Whites writing and story-line, I was able to get over that really quick. If it was another author, I probably would have stopped reading the book.
Celeste is untrained and now ready to come into her destined life. Little does she know, the three men sworn to protect her are all what will help her unite the species. I love Laken. He is without a doubt my favorite even with his douchy moments. Lucas is a little too quiet and I am hoping to see so much more. Even though Celeste was already with Gage, I cant wait to see more of her with the other men.
If you have not started this series, I suggest you go grab your copy now! Looking forward to the next book in the series.
This Story Is A Great Continuation From ‘The Vessel’!!
(I loved how this book started with the short story called The Vessel. It really sets this book up brilliantly. The World that ‘Blood Lust’ is set in is just so much more full & satisfying if you read it first!!)
Estelle finally retakes her rightful name and blood in Devils Gate. She’s over a year older than her late sister, Sierra, planned! But at 19 years old she is once again Celeste La Fleur, the last witch in a bloodline that has held the position of Magical Regent, throughout all of Devils Gate. The Regent acts as a sort of peacekeeper and enforcer between the Races as well as the connection to ‘The Old Ones’. The Regent is feared and respected but also hated by some!!
Celeste must now face up to her destiny, that Sierra sacrificed herself for! She learns how badly the area has torn itself apart & how close the factions of Vampires, Humans, Fae & Wolves are to war!! All this happened under her nose whilst she was hidden as a human, lost in grief and struggling under the weight of her sisters sacrifice!
Celeste comes to learn she is more than just the future Regent. Her destiny puts her in much graver danger but also gives her the unwavering loyalty of 3 of the strongest of each of the Supernatural Races –
Gage is a Vampire, he’s extremely strong and has a past we don’t know much about. He’s sexy as sin & extremely possessive
Lucas is a Fae. He’s full of charm, a sexy beauty that hurts to look at, he wields magic with an ease that’s terrifying and oozes sex appeal as casually as he breathes
Laken is a Wolf Shifter. He’s the new Alpha, His cut body is honed from working in the woods, he exudes an animal grace but his temper can run as hot as he is
I really liked this storyline but I have a couple of issues. One is I’m not a huge fan of Celeste only being 19 years old, it just feels too young in comparison to Gage & Lucas especially – this is obviously a personal thing for me and it won’t stop me reading the rest of the series, but the maturity difference felt large to me!! The second issue was how stilted parts of the first 5/6 chapters were. I read this Author a lot so was very surprised. I was glad when her usual pace and flow shone through
You really won’t be disappointed by this book, it’s so full of history & backstory and once it’s into its flow it’s completely engrossing!! I give it 3.5 – 4 Stars but for storyline alone it’s 4.5 Stars, so I feel like 4 Stars is the most fair rating!!
