Astasiya Davenport’s best friend is dead. No, not just dead–murdered. Burned alive. Decapitated. And the only one who can help her figure out what happened is a demon masquerading as a billionaire playboy.
Because that happens in real life.
Yet Astasiya has always known the supernatural exists. Not the kind in fairy tales or happily-ever-afters, but the kind that kills.
Issac Wakefield knows … kind that kills.
Issac Wakefield knows the rules–when you find a fledgling immortal in the city, you kill her. Except Astasiya intrigues him with her uncanny abilities, marking her as too useful for death.
With revenge on his mind, he strikes up an agreement with her instead, one that’ll benefit them both. But as complications arise, secrets unravel, initiating a lethal game that threatens both of their lives.
Loyalties will be tested.
Bonds will be made.
And a forbidden love will rise.
Welcome to the Immortal Curse world, where angels and vampires are redefined and Seraphim reign.

“What are you wearing under this dress?” he asked, his mouth brushing hers, the words whisper-soft.
Not what she expected him to say. “E-excuse me?”
His teeth sank into her lower lip, making her yelp. “Focus.”
On what? The demon club? The humans dying downstairs? The fact that you’re a fcking vampire? Where should I begin?
He sighed, his forehead falling to hers. “Astasiya, we have very little time to sort this before the Conclave. I need you to work with me. Both our lives depend on it. What are you wearing?”
She cleared her throat, her hold on his neck tightening as if needing his support to respond. And maybe she did. This was all a lot to take in. “A, uh, thong,” she managed to say. “And a strapless bra.” Both black and lacy, but she didn’t add that part.
One of his hands drifted from her hair to her waist, then down to her ass. His palm flattened and forced her to arch up into him. A breath hitched in her throat at the feel of his growing arousal.
He’s turned on… here… now?
She trembled, the heat of his body seeping into her cool skin, warming her blood. They were standing rather close. And he smelled amazing, as always.
Anywhere else, in the dark, she’d have kissed him.
But here…
“The dress will have to stay, then,” he said, the disappointment evident in his voice.
She frowned. “What’s wrong with my dress?” It hit her midthigh and clung to her curves. She looked good in it.
He ignored her, his mouth brushing hers in a chaste kiss as his hips pressed firmly into hers.
Definitely aroused.
“You’re going to see things tonight that will make you want to scream, but you must remain calm and quiet. Mortals who overreact die, and they die badly.”

After listening to this book I just wanted more, this is the start of an amazing, addictive series! The characters are absolutely charming and believable, the world building fantastic, creating a dark fantasy world just below the surface that invites you in to take a peek. I adored Stasia & Isaac’s story, so forbidden and romantic, I was hooked from the start, I have so many questions I want answered – so I desperately want book 2 to find out what’s next. The narration was superb, but Joel’s english accent needs work, it didn’t spoil my enjoyment though.
A new take on vampires, and supernaturals… looooooove it. Started a bit slow then becomes so good I couldn’t put the book down! Off to the next book!
I love Lexi Foss’s books and Blood Laws blew my mind. A young woman who has lost so much , not knowing why, a job that isn’t what it seems, and a violent death to a friend. To top that off a strange man saves her from being found by 2 men coming out of her friends apartment. How did he do it, what is he, what does he want from her, and how can have she have any kind of feelings for him? This is an amazing 1st book to a start of a series, that has everything from demons of different names, sick twisted leaders and their followers, a sexy demon who wants something, who has a group of friends who are like family, friends who are enemies, enemies that are friends. The feelings and emotions are everywhere in the book, but those give an amazing feeling to the book. I love the books that have main characters that have depth to them, other ones that can either give you the creeps , hate them , or fall in love with them. Lexi Foss does that, she writes books that gives different feelings, emotions and wonderful characters that say those feelings with the reader. This is a must read series, but not for the faint of heart. If you are I recommend to skip a few parts (just remember that those parts give you some of the reason the way some characters are the way they are) the rest of the book is worth it .
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and what an intriguing and intense read. Wow!
Stas Davenport is special and has the power to compel which she has kept hidden. She lost her parents at a young age and was adopted by the Davenport’s. She has nightmares about her parents death but are they real?
Issac Wakefield is a handsome billionaire playboy of the Ichorian race and can manipulate everyone’s vision. So when he meets Stas – she can see him which she shouldn’t. He realizes she’s immune to his power. He decides to use her as a pawn for revenge against the man who murdered his sister. But as time goes on, he decides not to use her that way. The chemistry the two of them is getting hard to resist. But they are supposed to be enemies and their being together is against the Blood Laws.
There is so much to this story, you have to read it for yourselves. It grabs you in from the beginning, has suspense, humor, intrigue, hot steamy sex and twists and turns. I loved it and will have to read the series to see how things will work out!!
When I started this it was confusing learning who is related to who and how and the terms for all the classifications of people or demons/angels in this new world. But as the book went on I wanted to know just as Stas did what he wanted her for and what is this world he lives in. Now I don’t want the book to end. I can not wait to see what happens next. Stas is running the whole gambit of emotions in this book. There are so many action, wonder and what?…… moments in Blood Vows. It just blew my brain. Isaac is such an enigma. He doesn’t put all his cards in the table so it’s hard to figure him out. I love that he calls everyone by their full name and yet Stas called him “demon”. His friends are a little creepy but seem trustworthy…..to him. There is a large cast in Blood Vows when including both their friends and family. I am still trying to figure out Luc. I will probably reread this since now I have the world and terms down I can soak more of the other stuff in. Oh and the chemistry between Stas and Issac is electric! I would say off the charts! Great book and I can’t wait to read the next one!
I am a huge Lexi Foss fan girl. There, I said it. I absolutely LOVE the Immortal Curse series. This seriously has to be one of the BEST paranormal worlds out there. You know when you find a really awesome paranormal book with great world building, but then it has zero steam? Well this series makes up for all of those, because the steam in these books is ON POINT! Perfect balance of action, intrigue, romance.
Vampires/Fallen angels/Assassins/Mystery/Suspense
A fascinating, unique plot! I pretty much knew I’d love this book. Lexi C Foss lured me into a web of intrigue. It’s like I can’t scratch this itch unless I’m reading one of her books. It took me a minute to learn the definition between these supernaturals. I kept going back to the glossary, but then it would be explained shortly after, that didn’t stop me from trying to find all the answers. I LOVE THE MYSTERY to this one. The romance was a bonus, I’m not going lie, it was hot. But the story itself was addictive, intriguing, very smart. I’m throughly invested and can’t wait to read the next one.
Great start to this new series. The characters have so much depth, interesting dichotomy between them they are fascinating, complex and I got completely lost and absorbed into this pn world.
Sarah & Joel did a fantastic job narrating.

Blood Laws is the first book of Mrs. Floss’ that I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing. I quite enjoyed it. The author did a wonderful job building the world Stas and Issac live in. Their story is original, intriguing and multidimensional.
I liked the banter and chemistry between Stas and Issac. They make a great team.
I can’t wait to explore more of the Immortal Curse Universe. (4.5)
This is my first Lexi C Foss book and I couldn’t put it down!
This supernatural romance has it all. The characters were so cool and powerful. I liked how they weren’t just regular vampires, they had special powers and could have children. There is awesome steamy scenes, so much intrigue and twists, and a burning chemistry. I can’t wait to start the next audiobook in the series to see how things play out. Really loved the story, couldn’t put it down! The narrators are real pros because they were awesome and truly brought the entire story to life.

I loved the narration of Sarah Puckett and Joel Froomkin, they brought this to life so, so well.
I really loved watching the world and the characters unfold in front of me and I enjoyed that I learned about it all at the same time as Stas (well some bits ahead of her). A really intriguing way to look at species (races?) that I’ve read about many times before but this was such a different take on it I found it so refreshing. I’m intrigued to know what happens next.
this is an intense, sexy, thrilling, intriguing story which grabs you immediately and drags you deep into this magical world.
the characters and circumstances are so richly written that they embed themselves into your mind.
if I could give it more stars I would.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Blood Laws is the first book in the Immortal Curse series and it was a fascinating and highly entertaining story. This novel was steamy with likable characters, suspenseful with some twists and turns that all kept you hook from start to finish. It was detailed and well-written with excellent world building but the story ended leaving you with quite a few unanswered questions and will have you anxious for the next book. I would highly recommend this novel to all lovers of Paranormal romance.

This book is a perfect beginning to the series. You have a great backstory with some confusion and steamy times in the middle. The end of this book give you quite a cliffhanger that leaves you begging for more. I will definitely be looking into the next in this series.
Blood Laws (Immortality Curse Series, Book 1) is a creative tale in a paranormal world. With well seriatim realm foundation characterization & settings. The narrative as well as the style of writing is intriguing and unparagoned. Character’s evolve throughout and have a mysterious facet. I loved the fun banter and flirty moments between Issac and Stass. A gripping prologue that leads into a mystery, & sensual elements intricately entwined into a entertaining listen.
Narators Joel Froomkin and Sarah Puckett dual narration performance is red-blooded. I absolutely loved the narration.
Joel Froomkin’s female voices could use some work, mind you they weren’t awful just needed to be adjusted. I loved his interpretation of the male character’s. His accent was Intoxicating to listen to. His tone of voice, inflection, volume, and pace of speech flowed through smoothly.
Sarah Puckett’s analytical artistry is always a luminosity performance. Her rendition of male character’s tone is exceptional and almost as perfect as her female character’s tones. Her talent is flawlessly illustrated with her performance of this audiobook. Her passion brings the character’s personalities to a real world that you can escape to for awhile. Her tone of voice, inflection, volume, and pace of speech flowed through flawlessly and smoothly. A perfect choice for narrating this audiobook.
Looking forward to listening to the next audiobook in this paranormal romance series.

Blood Laws by Lexi C. Foss is a paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett and Joel Froomkin. This is book one in the Immortal Curse Series and per the author notes there will be overarching themes and question left unanswered that set up the next book. But each book the hero and heroine couple will always have a “happy for now” or a “happily ever after” ending.
This is the first book of Lexi’s that I have read/listened to and it definitely won’t be my last. Her writing style will pull you into the book. I just had to know what was going to happen next with Issac and Astasiya. It does take a bit too fully get into the book and understand where each character lies in the storyline.
Sarah is an amazing narrator. I love the different voices she uses for each character. She does a great job bringing the storyline to life. Joel is a new narrator for me and it did take me quite a while to get into his parts of the storyline. I did listen to the audiobook on 1.5 – 1.75 speed, otherwise it seemed way to slow in both narrators parts.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Paranormal Romance or Fantasy books.

Wow, this story really blew my mind, because when I started reading this book I had never read any of Mrs. Foss’s books yet. And even though I had her books, which my daughter had read and was pushing me to read, I hadn’t found the time to read the books. That is until this weekend when I decided to make some time and this first book didn’t disappoint, it kept me thinking and wanting to find out what would happen with Stas and Issac. And wow I really can’t wrap my mind around everything they went through to get to the point they got to at the end of this book and now I can’t wait to get into Amelia and Tom’s story, although it is becoming hard for me not to want to be able to get into this story and kill Dr. Fitzgerald with my bare hands for all the bad things he is doing! Thank you so much Mrs. Foss for having sent me Stas and Issac’s story as a prize it has become one of my favorite books and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!
Just WOW! This is my 3rd book by Lexi and she is quickly becoming a one-click author for me – I absolutely love her paranormal writing!! Her stories are brilliantly written, beguiling, enthralling and passionate, the worlds she builds are so very intriguing and exciting you can’t help but get lost in them – this one was no exception, it was fantastic from the word go!!
Astasiya is different and she knows it, she has special gifts, but her parents were killed when she was little and she was always taught to hide her gifts away. Her best friend Owen is murdered and the man she runs into in the corridor outside his apartment says he has all the answers she needs, but there are certain things he needs from her before he can tell her.
Isaac is part of the paranormal world, on one side of a war between two opposing peoples, the Ichorians and the Hydraians, he knows Stas has certain powers and plans to use her to avenge his sister’s death. What he doesn’t know is just how hard he will fall for Stas.
The connection and chemistry between Stas and Isaac is off the charts, the build up of their relationship is slow but the intensity of it can be felt rolling off the pages! I loved Isaac and his “isms”, he has a unique and quirky English type character that really suited him. He respects Stas and the choices that she makes, never pressuring her but always being there to protect her from whatever was about, no matter the cost. Stas did seem to be a little naive at times, but then her whole world has been turned upside down and she has no way of knowing who to trust!
What a brilliant start to a new series, it certainly left me wanting more and I can’t wait to learn more about this fascinating new world Lexi has created. Highly recommended reading.
