I did not want this story to end!
As I closed the pages on this story I slowly wiped my eyes, gathered up the pieces of my broken heart and took a deep breath to ground myself, – you know that period right after you finish a really good book and you are slowly trying to transition back into reality? (It sucks, I know) – I then slowly sat up and screamed: “WTH WHY?”
Jay – has finally met his match -Liz- who not only caught his eye but evoked his every primal urge.
“Knowing you has changed me on an irrevocable level. I thought my yearning for you was a passing infatuation, just as the others who came before you were, but the desire grew with each day until I couldn’t deny it anymore. And so I broke the rules, and tasted you, but, God, Liz, it wasn’t enough.”
Liz – There were times I wanted to smack some sense into her, but I get it the insecurities were bred into her but she fought like a wildcat when it counted and stood for what she believed in- I am really hoping we get more on what happened with her.
There was a lot of breadcrumbs scattered throughout this story that may change the course for many of our beloved characters
and as for what happens ,obviously, I can’t tell you because it would truly spoil the read – I can say that in Blood Heart a lot of truths were exposed, some of our favorite characters (okay my favorites) where hurt or irrevocably damaged in ways that I question if they can recover from – our adversaries became our most trusted allies and our friends ….. well I guess we will know in book four
This is the third installment in the Immortal Curse Series and it just keeps getting more intense and better developed – IMO this is a reflection of the author’s caliber when it comes to bringing her characters to life and her readers into the story. I love that the quirks of her characters (the banter, the camaraderie, the inner monologues that have me literally lol ) bleed into the writing in a way that propels the story to flow from the pages almost seamlessly.
I know I have said this before but if you are a fan of BDB, The Lords, or the DH series – then this would definitely be a series to put on your must-read list.
Blood Hearts was my most anticipated book of the year, and Lexi C Foss definitely delivered! I absolutely loved Jayson and Lizzie. Lexi’s writing drug me into the story, and I could not put it down. I’m super excited to see what she write next!
LEXI! DAMN IT that was a roller coaster ride girl. HOLY SHIT and FUCK. Well done babe that was an amazing book. NOW I need more. Damn it.
If you have read the other Immortal Curse books, you’ve met Lizzie Watkins. You know she’s a wonderful young lady with secrets kept from her but you don’t know what those are. You suspect she’s special and you’d be right, that’s what Jayson is there to learn. Exactly how special is Lizzie? Jayson is Lizzie’s new neighbor, he’s loud, brash and HOT. He knocks Lizzie’s balance off and what will happen when they get to know each other more? Will he cross the line he’s been told not to?
The abuses of the CRF are showing through more clearly as we learn more about how special Lizzie really is and learning more about the players in this intriguing and deadly world that lies alongside our own. Filled with loads of action, some violence, lots of shocking moments and tearful happenings I am anxious for the next installment in this world.
There is something so addictive about a series that makes you ask tons of questions at the start, answers them as you go, and leaves you with so many new questions RIGHT NOW!! I’m full of questions… so many questions… and I’m loving it!!
The things I loved:
Lizzie – she was absolutely adorable. Innocent and naive with a gigantic heart, she was pretty awesome. It was almost virtually impossible to find anything about her to annoy me. WIN! It was discovered that she might not be human and this book reveals her in all of her complexities. She was sweet and kind and desperate for a connection and Jay was the perfect person to insert in her life.
Jayson – a Hydraian Elder, he has the power to manipulate metal and change someone’s perspective of his physical impression. Alive for many millenia, he was the consummate playboy. Things can get boring when you’re living forever. However, he wasn’t the classic ‘love em and leave em’ kind of guy. He did go for repeats but he’d never had a real relationship. Lizzie was simply an assignment. She was special, needed protection, and they needed to learn more about her before they could bring her into the fold. That was Jayson’s job – reconnaissance. And then it led to so much more and it was bea-you-ti-ful!
Stas was still pretty annoying, throwing herself into situations she shouldn’t be in with dire consequences. However, she finally saw the light!
She was no match for the assassin. He would rip her to shreds, and enjoy it.
It was too late, but with the many moving parts of this series, I believe that it will all work out in the end *fingers crossed* I just want Issac to be happy.
I need more information about the Seraphim and exactly how Stas fits into all that. I’m just extremely glad that my thoughts regarding Stark (especially after the huge reveal in book two) were on point. I’m struggling to see the bigger picture and I can’t wait for it all to unfold in the books to come!
Whatever, I’m off to read the next book. Elder Bonds. It looks hella fun!!
Book 3 and wow that ending what a mind f***! Just wanna get that out of the way. I saw some of that coming but definitely not all. Whew surprise surprise! I’m also sad. Poor Stas and Issac. I know their story isnt over but seriously that was some major stupidity on Stas’s part. She needed to be knocked down a couple of pegs because honestly she thinks she’s the s*** because she’s got a little training. Compared to the rest of the guys she’s a baby and kinda acted like one? She’s too stubborn and look what happened. So, I wasnt her biggest fan in this book because of what her idiocy did it didnt just affect her and that’s her problem. Okay now for the main characters in this story Lizzie and Jayson. I really enjoyed both characters and wow was she a true innocent. Poor thing. She’s completely oblivious to it all and not through her fault. Her memories were messed with and she’s got no recollection to things. She’s got some self-esteem issues too thanks to Mommy Dearest. Jayson although not really a man **ore like Balthazar but kinda close. He cant stop thinking of Lizzie but all he’s supposed to do is protect her and report back to what he learns. He never anticipated he’d want her for keeps. They arent sure what she is or how to really protect her hence this assignment. Stories are so not over and this isnt the end. I have a feeling this series will be continuing for awhile and I am glad of that because I love them.
I can’t get enough of this series, The author pulled out all the feels and I totally used my shirt sleeve to mop up the tears on numerous occasions. If you haven’t read the first two books then you’ll be lost, but this is Lizzie’s story. Jayson is sent to learn more about her but the more he watches her, the more intrigued he is. I need more books!!!!!!I don’t want it to ever end!!!
Wow! Loved it! It was entertaining, it was seductive and it was emotional! I was sucked into this story and didn’t come up from my reading cave till the end! I enjoyed learning not only more about the characters but also what’s going on and how everything is progressing. I’m blown away and can’t wait for more. The ending left me highly anticipating the next book!
I love this series!!! I cannot get enough, even when Lexi turns me into an emotional mess. If you like PNR then you need to pick up this series ASAP. You will not be disappointed, well except for the part where you learn B is mine and you can’t have him! Seriously though, when do I get the next book??!! Jayson and Lizzie along with all the other characters in the Immortal Curse series have drawn me into their world and I don’t wanna leave.
This was a great read, the characters were great whether you liked or loathed them or didn’t know if you could trust them! I thought Lizzie was great how she had times of confidence especially when ignoring her mother and how Jay is trying to stay focused but not doing so well with that. The background to Jay and the others was great especially as you got to know more and more as the book went along bu still didn’t know what was so special about Lizzie. There are plenty of mysteries, shocks and twists that kept me hunkered down with this book as I needed to know more about everything.
Oh, my heart…
So many feels with this one. A woman of means and of interest. An Immortal Elder sent to learn more about her. Two completely different worlds. What happens when just watching is no longer enough, those worlds collide.
Elizabeth has been raised to be the perfect, polite society daughter. Her best friend and roommate is now working for the agency who stole her childhood crush and she is alone. Alone in her grief and so much more. She wants nothing more than to be seen and understood.
Jayson is an elder and has been sent to learn more about Elizabeth. She is forbidden fruit and the more he watches, the more her innocence and warm heart draws him to her. Can he stay away while seeking answers to the secrets surrounding her? More importantly, can he keep her safe when those secrets threaten to override her?
The story visits past characters and continues the story of the Immortal Curse world. Emotions are high, the feels are real, and the story delivers on so many levels. With more questions, sneak peaks of things to come, and some secrets revealed… I can’t wait to see what happens next!
As book 2 seemed to promise, we finally get Lizzie’s story!
This one is just as fast-paced and dramatic as its predecessors and no less exciting. A great edition to the series, leaving me satisfied with Lizzie and Jason, definitively confirming my theories about Lizzie, and keeping me completely addicted and needing to read on in the series.
Things seem to be heating up more in the grand scheme and I cannot wait to see how it all unfolds.
This installment is packed with real love, heat, life-altering friendship bonds, heartbreak, drama, betrayal, war, corruption and so much more. Amazing world-building all the while.
5 stars.
Note:
I listened to the audiobook: both narrators are smooth, easy on the ears and add to the reading experience.
Another amazing book from Lexi C Foss! This story continues along the same path as the previous two. A world filled with Ichorians and Hydraians and how they live together and apart. I can not get enough of these characters or the story. I gobble these books up! Ms Foss always seems to be able to intrigue me and that keeps me reading as quick as i can. She has created characters I care about and feverishly want to know more. I am heartbroken for a couple characters in this story. I really hope for changes to happen in order for their story to continue in a forward motion (cryptic right? Sorry(said in a sing song voice)….read the books then you will understand).
This book as the previous book has a large cast of characters that seems to grow more with each book (not complaining ). This story focus’ on Lizzie and Jayson. A human and Hydranian. All the friends of each come into play and we meet some new devious ones. I seriously love all these characters! Granted they have had a few thousand years to become very well acquainted but dang! They are so funny! Jacque, Balthazar, Tristan along with Luc, Alik, Issac, Tom even Ezekiel and the guardians all have some neat powers and we get to see many in action during this book. It’s amazing the friendship these men have with each other. Very inspiring!
Jayson is an Elder and between you and me…I didn’t think he had *this* in him. Meaning I was surprised he would only go for one woman. He and Balthazar have led quite the life with their partying. It was nice to read his downfall hehehe. He has a sweet gift! I loved seeing him use it….more than once! He is so protective of Lizzie it was great watching their relationship blossom.
Lexi C Foss is a favorite author of mine…basically I “One-Click” her for every new book. I really look forward to the next in this series. I did listen to this on audio. Sarah Puckett and Troy Duran do an outstanding job!
I loved Jay and Lizzie’s story, I absolutely adored their nick-names and was blown away by the roller-coaster ride it took me on which had me reaching for the tissues and the next book like an addict! I totaly approve of Troy Duran’s addition to the narration team!
Blood Heart, great , great, great book. You never know what to expect when your reading it. Jayson is suppose to be watching/protecting Elizabeth but he is thinking about in all the wrong ways. There are sparks when they meet if if he irritates her sometimes. Emotions run high, reactions to those emotions is hotter then hot. When your dealing with immortals your not sure what will happen next .But there are always the bad guys, they could be immortal , mortal or something else so be prepared for running, hiding, shooting, screaming, loving , hating, and more actions or feelings all through the book. Be prepared for anything because sooner or later anything is going to happen
Amazing story, so well written. Love Lizzie and Jayson, Stas and Issac, all the interconnections. This story gives you all the feels and you want more. The unexpected twists keep you on edge wondering what is next.
I greatly enjoyed getting to know Lizzie and Jayson.
I couldn’t put their story down once I started.
The final face-off had me holding my breath waiting to find out what was going to happen to everyone.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves paranormal romance with a bit of action and mystery.
Blood Heart book three in the Immortal curse series is crucial to understanding this complex world, because Jayson may have just found the key in his new assignment.
Sarah & Troy did an amazing job bringing these characters to life.

Elizabeth is a young woman that is very special. Jayson is Lizzie’s new neighbor. Jayson is drawn to her. He can’t stop thinking of Lizzie but all he’s supposed to do is protect, observe and report on what he finds out about her.
The characters from previous books are intertwined within this series. Some secrets are revealed. I can’t wait to see what is next in the Immortal Curse World.
Narrators Sarah Puckett, Troy Duran are outstanding narrators.
they did a fantastic performance, telling the story with such emotion. They bring the angst, raw emotion and personality to each character.

Fuck! This book had it all. Book 3 in The Immortal Curse Series, and by far the most telling. I am obsessed.
This series is cleverly crafted, a web of intricate details woven in, leaving you hunting for answers! I’ve went back to the first book and re-read passages. I went as far as highlighting things that I thought might be easter eggs. And it’s definitely helped, some. I’ve only figured out one twist thus far. The mystery has me by the tits. The secrets are slowing being revealed, yet I’m not even remotely ready for all to be seen. I feel like I can’t leave these characters or world, like ever. Completely engrossing, engaging, addicting.
By the blurb, you’d think this book is about one couple. To a certain extent, yes. But the storyline is continuing from the first book. Like a mini-series, the behind the scenes players are becoming known, it’s all so much and not enough at the same time. It’s like these characters, this brotherhood is imprinting on my heart. I can’t even begin to pick a favorite yet. With so many characters, the author has given each their own identity, unique qualities enabling you to feel something different with each one. It’s utterly delightful to witness the dynamic and love throughout. Like I said, obsessed. Lexi C Foss is extremely talented storyteller, I’m in awe of this series. I can’t praise this enough. I just want to wrap myself up in this series and never let go.
“We’re brothers and always will be, but love, true love, surpasses all the rules. Including those implied by our history.”
I love these dudes.
Blood Heart (An Immortal Curse Novel, Book 3) is a perfect addition to the series and I absolutely loved it. Iove how Lizzie and Jayson’s relationship is evolving. Sweet, flirtatious banter between these two characters creating a fun listen. Supporting character’s accentuated the narrative. I loved how it ended. Looking forward to listening to the next audio in this series when available.
Narators Sarah Puckett, Troy Duran did a fantastic performance. Sarah Puckett is my all time favourite female narrator and as usual her performance never disappoints. I adore Troy Duran and his inflection. Loved both performances.
