God’s nightgown, this novel knocked my socks off. Blood Fugue is a velvety smooth waltz of a story. This novel is filled with romance, sensuality, and old-fashioned mystery. To my surprised delight, I found myself immersed within the modern world of vampires, while being caressed by the heady film noir of the 1940’s. What a brilliant blend of genres! Amber Anthony’s prose took me to unexpected places and captivated my senses. When I turned the last page, with bated breath, I closed my eyes in wonder. I’m longing for the next installment of The Tales of the Gaoler series. This book is one to be cherished, visited often, and held in high regard. Amber Anthony has once again taken me to the moon and stars.

Harry first met Elizabeth when he rescued her from a vampire attack, from their first meeting, there was a strong attraction between them. It was an attraction he knew it would be wise to avoid because, unlike Elizabeth, who was human, Harry was a vampire. Fate, however, took a hand in their romance and ensured that they continued to spend time together. I liked this story with their complicated relationships and hidden pasts that it made such compelling reading, that it swept me away into another world and another time.

Harry and Lizbet’s story has some unique twists and turns and situations for a vampire story. Interesting
