This book hits the ground running as we keep up with Tabitha a Necromancer that has had to resort to less then legal means to earn money after the council for her kind was dissolved. She is set up to be caught but an unexpected man saves her instead. We follow along as they try to solve the puzzle while staying alive long enough to do so. Smooth writing with fascinating characters dropped into a world of magic, mystery, and more. Perfect for fans of paranormal romance. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

Until next time… Happy Reading!
Laura packed a great story with perfect characters into this quick read.
I am always rooting for the underdog. I just didn’t expect the underdog to be a necromancer. An ethical necromancer – that must be so hard a line to hold, but Tabitha managed to do just that. is the way her brother acted typical of a necromancer family? If it is, it is even more amazing that Tabitha turned out the way that she did. For all that this is a very short novel, the author creates characters that illustrate a deep moral dilemma, the perils of doing the right thing and the potential rewards for daring to be good. Throw in a romance that sweeps Tabitha off her streetwise feet and this novella has something for every urban fantasy/paranormal romance fan.
I found Tabitha to be a delightful change from the necromancer stereotype. In her broken world, she simply wants to do good. To help improve the lot of others. A noble woman. Rick’s fast introduction to her was a bit out of the blue, but went off quite well.
I received a copy of this book as a gift from the author. This is my honest review.
Blood and Deceit by Laura Greenwood is a paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Jess Combs. This book is a stand-alone that is set in the Paranormal Council Universe.
I just love Laura’s books! They always leave me begging for more. I can’t wait to read more of her books around the Paranormal Council Universe.
Jess did a great job on the narration. I liked that she used different voice/tones for each character. I look forward to reading more of her work in the future.
This was an amazing standalone story set in the Paranormal Council Universe! After the necromancer council dissolved, Tabitha is out of a job and desperate for money, but no one will hire a necromancer the legal way. She’s also having trouble finding any information on her brother and the death of her father after her mother’s death. She starts looking for a job and answers in the black market, but finds herself mixed up with a vampire of The High Council, who also happens to be her mate, since the job was a set up and the result of black magic going wrong. What’s the best way to start your life with your fated mate? With lies, deceit, and a hefty price for your head. I enjoyed this new mystery that Laura has created and watching Tabitha and Rick’s relationship grow. This book was filled with romance, mystery, suspense, and great characters within an amazing world!
Jess did an amazing job with this narration! I loved the different voices that she gave each character and the amount of emotion and suspense she put into her performance to bring it to life.

Our heroine is trying to find her brother, but gets entangled in council politics and intrigue. What’s a girl to do?
This is a paranormal fastasy story set in the author’s established Paranormal Council world. I have read many of the stories in this setting and I enjoyed some of them more then others. This one fell on the slightly less so end.
The world is well established and detailed in the overall story arc, but not so much here. New readers will have a bit of a challenge understanding some to the background elements. The characters are interesting, but not overly developed, leaving it up to the reader to fill in a lot of the gaps. The story itself is straightforward and easy to read, and has some interesting ideas, but they seemed slapped together rather then well thought out. Overall, an entertaining read, but not the best.
If you are a fan of the Paranormal Council world, then I recommend reading this story to add to your overall experience. If you have not read any of the series, then I recommend starting somewhere else to get the basics.

Naughty Necromancers
That title of mine might give the wrong impression, when this is actually about necromancers who decide to act like “Gods” above all others. But not all necromancers are that way – Tabitha happens to be a necromancer of the old school, disappointing several of her old acquaintances. But new connections come along and she finds out that she’s not as alone as she might seem.
I must admit, I found a couple of points of this a little disappointing. The big “reveal” didn’t feel anywhere near as dramatic as it could have been. The characters, too, whilst the main characters should have been likable, I didn’t feel like they had enough depth to be able to connect to them.
Not a bad story, but unfortunately a bit forgettable.
Final rating: – Sort of liked/OK
Blood and Deceit by Laura Greenwood is a stand alone book set in the Paranormal Council Universe. In this book, a necromancer named Tabitha is trying to survive in a paranormal world that does not like necromancers. However, while collecting payment for doing a job she meets up with her mate Ricky a vampire. This is the beginning of a adventure that will effect her family life forever. This book has two wonderful characters, an adventure filled story, and a romance not to be missed. If you love a fast paced story full of surprises, you will love the paranormal read too. Blood and Deceit is an entertaining quick and quirky paranormal romance read.
First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.
Excellent story. I haven’t read any of the Necromancers stories, but I will now. Tabitha was in a bad position with there being no Necromancer Council, but it worked out for her when she met Rick, a vampire. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs Up
I really enjoyed reading Blood and Deceit. Kept me interested and drawn in. I found the story and characters well developed and well written. I recommend reading.

Intriguing story
There are twists and turns with several good surprises along the way. It has great, likeable characters who you just want to hang out more with after their story is done. I have loved all the Paranormal Council stories so far. The necromancers don’t really have a good reputation in the supernatural world, so Tabitha is having to put up with some preconceived notions.
Well written story and great addition to the Paranormal Council books. I recommend this book.
Tabitha a necromancer and Rick a vampire met in a hotel room. He saved her from being set up. They realized they were soul mates. Now they have to fight against her brother. Can they survive? What will their powers be since they have mated?

We have a lot going on in this book, mystery, suspense and more. Tabitha is a necromancer and Rick is a vampire with the High Council. He has information. Tabitha needs that information. Will Rick help her? Will Tabitha and Rick come together. There is a few things in the story that should have been written differently, but that’s only my thoughts.
