Well written tale of a strong womans life and the things that happen on the way. It was enjoyable and heartwarming. Recommended.
A shifter romance with a sexy alpha.
Kasie and Rhys are attracted to each other, but Kasie has a secret and needs to keep her distance.
Loved this story 🙂
Kasie is a girl on the run. She has a short affair with a man she meets in a hotel. Then she runs from him. When they run into each other again, Rhys, is determined to have her as his own. When he finds out that she is also a wolf, he knows she has secrets, but hopes she will tell him and let him help her. This is a great book and one that I highly enjoyed and recommend!
Who is Kasie? Why is she running? Who is she running from? Who is Rhys? How do they meet? Who is Todd? What happens to Kasie as she is driving to Stilton? Who is Sophie? What does she do that endangers Kasie? Who are Mack and Leon? What happens when they follow Levi to Rhys’ house? Read and see what happens! See how strong Kasie truly is!

Another great read by JA Hinchey who brings a paranormal story with strong , well developed characters. It’s short, fast paced, has mystery and romance and is brought to life with her detailed scenes. She pulls you in with all the emotions as well as the chemistry between Rhys and Kasie. I loved reading and would recommend this book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Running from her evil Alpha intended to harm her had left Kasie Jackson frightened and distrustful. When she met Rhys Cohen, a powerful alpha who wanted to protect her, she didn’t want to put him at risk. But Fate had took control and she had found The One. Action, suspense, romance, heated passion, friendship, violence and strong emotions in this story with depraved and evil villains. Liked how Rhys dealt with the situation and helped Kasie.
BLOOD CURSED : J.A. HINCHEY

SHORT ‘N’ SWEET, SINFULLY & SEXY WITH CURVES IN JUST THE RIGHT PLACES!
Sounds much like the leading lady Kasie Jackson. I read this novella in just 3 short hours. The Awakening Series was one of my favourite reads & I just adore the character Rhys, so its wonderful to see him to get his own story and expand on what we already know of him.
I love how this super sexy hot as sin Wolf/Cop and all round Good Guy finally gets a win of his own! And boy does his Ranch & property sound absolutely devine! Great job on the world building here Jane such a full detailed description of this gorgeous place I could see it to perfection. Makes you understand why why anyone would want to call it Home and the pack hang out barbecuing every Friday then go ‘Running’ in the woodlands.
I had a feeling when Rhys’s Alpha Hayden and his Wife Alison died in the plane crash in The Awakening Series, Rhys would take over the reigns as the new Alpha of the Redmeadows Pack, & probably the construction company too, but have yet to complete that series as I have not finished reading Book 3, First Blood (which I recently bought in both ebook and Audible) as ARC’S keep popping up from multiple authors putting it on hold for the moment.
I loved getting to know the Redmeadows Pack, liking all characters of course apart from the bitchy super possessive Sophie! She’s one to watch, not sure that I’d trust this chick if I were Kasie, first meetings are usually fairly good indication of a person’s character (unless of course their having a shocker of a day). But then you have the other Pack mates the type everyone dreams of having in Ana, Billy Levi, Doc and Naomi whom all sound like the awesome friends we all make, want and choose as our non blood family, but will they welcome Kasie with open arms?
As we all know nothing ever goes smoothly in the movies or books hence bring on the Bad Guy’s aka The Boys of The Athel Tree City Pack. Alpha Mack, his second Leon, Joe, Steve and Ted.
After all, we have to have a balance and without jerks in the story, life would be a little on the bland side withou any major action. My favourite thing about the Bad Guy’s? We get to imagine how the mongrals will die screaming and get theirs or are they so cunning, ruthless and vile, they get away scott free?
To Jane I have to say a GIANT Thank You, Thank You, Thank You from the bottom of my heart for writing a story about a non stereotypical wolf pack with the Redmedow’s Pack!
It makes my blood boil everytime I read a story and the ‘stereotypical’ Wolf Pack is a bunch of murders, criminals and consists of a Bikie Gang members with no morales and little to no regard for women and the way their treated.
Owning all women pack members as if their a possession or a piece of meat for all pack members to take a bite out of and share about.
I think that’s part of the reason the Twilight Saga book series was such a big hit, I mean it’s rare to get a group of 100% Good Guys or a 100% Bag Guy’s, usually there’s a little of both mixed in for good measure & great entertainment as it keeps you guessing.
I love the Redmeadow’s Boys, especially of their ideals of a woman owning their own mind, body, soul and self! And that want to protect their women at all costs, their worth more to them than being domestic goddess only good for cooking their food, cleaning up after them and sharing about sexually unless mated!
In this day & age it’s good to see women authors changing the narrative, writing and changing this sick stereotypical bulls@#t we’ve had shoved down our throats for so long!
For we see it everyehere we look and go : On the Silver Screen, we see it on the Small Screen, we read it in our Books & many of us face it in our everyday lives, at home or if not I’m sure every woman reading this has felt it walking down the street, at a night club & most definitely in the work place. That’s one great thing about the #MeToo Movement, bringing it out into the light, from behind locked doors where they have control and into the forefront of everyone’s minds!
For what man wants his mother, sister, girlfriend, grandmother or friends treated in this degrading disgraceful disgusting manner? Its about time men stepped in and stood up for the women in their lives, whether we’re friends or family and say something especially to their mates when their behaving so badly in that way, letting them know “That That Sort Of Behaviour Is Just Not On And Won’tBe Tolerated!” How times are a changing!!!
I RATE BLOOD CURSED
5 OUT OF 5!
I BLOODY LOVED IT

I always enjoy Jane Hinchey’s books, and this one is no exception. When it was marketed as a spin off of the Awakening series, I was worried that reading it knowing the context of the previous ones would leave me feeling lost. Rereading it again reminded me that it’s a brilliant example of a standalone because sometimes you just need a good oneshot with the possibilities of expanding on the bigger world it’s in without having to bog the reader down with information that’s not crucial to the story. Even if you’ve read a lot of shifter books, I think this one would still hold your interest just from how the characters grab at you.
While this is a short story there is a lot of meat on the bone, you really get a chance to know Kasie, she is a shifter who has run from her pack and she is still running. Then she meets Rhys a night of passion turns into three, now she must leave and try to find a place to disappear. It’s been months since her passion had been set free by Rhys but she hasn’t forgotten him or the danger she would bring to him if she had stayed. While traveling to her next hidey-hole her jeep goes off the road flipping on the way down finally landing upside down with Kasie locked in bt the seatbelt is unable to free herself feeling dizzy and bleeding she finally passes out. This is a must-read story.
I’m not a fan of explicit sex so I just skipped reading those parts. Had they not been in the story I would have given it a 5 star rating. The story and characters are great. It keeps you reading straight to the end. Great story telling otherwise.
