The heat in this book was INTENSE! The H and h I liked, they had chemistry. The world building was great. However, it ended on a cliffhanger, so be aware of that.

This is the first book in a new vampire romance series. The storyline follows the heroine Olivia who has been on the run since her mother was killed a year earlier. She meets and is subsequently abducted by the vampire prince Cashel Blackthorne who is ensnared by Olivia’s rare blood as well as the beautiful girl herself. A vampire love story that ends on a major cliffhanger and only adds to the anticipation for the next book!

Blood Captive is the first book in a new vampire series by Kim Loraine. This series is completely unrelated to any of Kim’s other paranormal/supernatural books. It is written in the 1st person POV of Olivia and Cashel. After the prologue, the book begins with Olivia meeting Cashel Blackthorne, being kidnapped, and taken to the Blackthorne home. During the course of the book, Olivia learns that Cashel’s family believe that her blood will allow them to be in the sun and possibly cure those vampires who have “sun sickness.” Cashel and Olivia are intensely attracted to each other from the beginning, but they spend most of the book fighting their attraction because of vampire politics and the potential risks to Olivia’s life if they give into the attraction. There’s way more to this story, but I’m not going to go into more detail because I think it’s best to experience this book without any spoilers. It does end in a cliffhanger, a pretty major cliffhanger, and is scheduled to be released in September. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next book in the series. One thing that confused me initially was when the Prologue occurred. I thought it took place a few years before Chapter 1, but later in the book a character made the statement that the events in the Prologue happened a year before the book’s storyline. So, I would have liked to have that specified in the Prologue. Also, there was so much build-up and tension throughout the bulk of the book, that I did feel that the last couple of chapters were a little rushed and that I was kind of left with the feeling that it was over too quickly. BUT, both of those things are minor complaints to me and did not affect my overall enjoyment of this book. Plus, those things aren’t dealbreakers for me when it comes to this type of storyline, especially when it’s the first book of a series. There’s a lot to this storyline and I feel like this book has just scratched the surface of the overall storyline of the series. I mean, there’s a vampire council that we haven’t met yet and there’s vampire hunters that we don’t know much about, not to mention what is going on with Cashel’s family. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to see what will happen in the next book. I recommend this book/series to anyone who is a fan of vampire and/or paranormal romances. It’s definitely worth checking out if you have Kindle Unlimited.
This one is pretty good, filled with interesting characters and has a little different twist than the normal vampire reads. Can’t wait for book Two. I received an advanced copy of this book via booksprout and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
This book ends with a huge cliffhanger! The story is well written, and the characters are well developed with Olivia and Cash having some good chemistry between them. I don’t read a lot of vampire books, but I did find this one to be enjoyable despite the cliffhanger ending.

Blood Captive is book one of the Blackthorne Vampires series and this story held me captive from the very first page until the last. I’ve read a lot of vampire books and this one really caught my attention especially the Sun madness and the fact that Olivia blood could be the cure. Fascinating, page turning story, interesting characters and an ending that had me on the edge of my seat make this a great read.
I don’t know how Kim has all of these stories in her head, I absolutely loved this book!
The story is fluid, the characters are relatable (yes, even the vampire 🙂 who is my latest in a long line of book boyfriends written by Kim . I can’t say I’ve seen this type of story before. A page turned for sure. I can’t wait for the next installment.

I’m a sucker for a good vampire story (no pun intended haha), however a couple chapters in, I beginning to think I already knew this story line. I was wrong. In the best possible way. The entire book had me thinking I could see what was coming and every time I was wrong. I was surprised by so many little plot twists and exciting events. This book is everything a vampire story should be! Danger, fear, sensuality, allure, dominance, and intrigue. This story had my emotions warring right along with the characters. I was spellbound and am anxiously awaiting the next story!

This was a fantastic read from Kim Loraine!! I love a good paranormal book and this one didn’t disappoint. Mystery, intrigue, action, twists and turns are just some of the goodness you get from reading this book!! The writing is so well done that you won’t want to put it down once you start it.
Whoa, this book was intense. It was such a gripping story! I loved the romance, passion and intrigue in it. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
4.5 Stars
I’ve read a lot of vampire books when I say a lot I mean a ton, PNR, especially vampires is one of my favorite tropes. This author has a new spin on burning up in the light called the “sun sickness/madness” that I really enjoyed. That’s where Olivia’s blood comes in and why she is so prized that the Blackthorne’s all want a taste, but Cashel is there first too bad his father, the King, insists on keeping her for himself. There is a lot of sexual tension between Olivia and Cash but once they finally give in it’s explosive. This book ends in a cliffhanger, but I look forward to reading more about the sun madness, Cash and Olivia’s relationship, the Hunters and bloodlines. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!!!
Fabulous book

I was super excited to read the final version of Blood Captive! It definitely didn’t disappoint for heart-pounding excitement and chemistry between Olivia and Cashel. I couldn’t stop reading and I definitely want more!!
5 stars!!
Spellbinding, completely addictive, and thoroughly seductive.
I am OBSESSED with this story and Cashel Blackthorne. I am literally counting down the days for the next book. No one does sexy vampires like Kim Loraine. Any one who knows me knows how much I loved her Fallen Angel series. I couldn’t shut up about it and my love for Galen, but Blood Captive and Cashel have absolutely left them in the dust. Without a doubt. Seriously, Kim, I need more! This bookwhore is dying a slow death waiting or more of Cashiel and his Little Bird, Olivia. Five Rose Scented Stars.

Just when I thought this story couldn’t get better, Emma Wilder and Aaron Shedlock come along with stellar narrations and take an amazing story up a notch to epic! Emma Wilder was perfection as Oliva and I swear to Jesus that Aaron Shedlock was absolutely hypnotic and utterly captivating as Cashel. All I can say is I. WANT. MORE! 5 stars.
Who did it again? Kim Loraine did and this time it is in a new vampire series. She hits it out of the park with the first book that has me holding my breath until the next. I love Cashel and Olivia’s introduction and I am rooting for them all the way.
