So I was instantly drawn to this book due to the dark mafia part but the blurb drew me in as well. This book has action and the mafia part was good. Some was unexpected but you find yourself cheering for the bad guys to get taken out. Ronan and Nia meet in a very unusual way. I mean how many people can say they met while at working at a diner and you nearly died in a gunfight you didn’t know was gonna happen? Ronan and Nia have sparks, literally lol but it goes more then that. I have to admire Nia though. She didn’t cave to Ronan and made him work to get her back. She held her own against Ronan and I think that made them stronger as a couple. I enjoyed the book but I felt more could have happened in it.

BLOOD BOUND IS AN IMPECCABLE & TOP NOTCH 5-STAR MAFIA ROMANCE!

Blood Bound is a gritty, raw and realistic mafia romance that centers on the lives of Ronan Reid, the Irish feared Enforcer for the Italian Mafia/The Barone family headed by Gianni Barone and Nia Jones, a down on her luck waitress who works at Chelly’s diner located in Chinatown.
Sadly, due to Nia’s financial struggles, her dream to become a nurse came to a screeching halt and left her quitting nursing school. She’s desperate, destitute and is constantly being hounded by debt collectors. Yet, despite her troubles, she holds onto the dream of a happy life one day.
Ronan is on a mission. In order for an alliance to be made between the Italian Mafia and Russian Bratva, he’s been given strict orders by Gianni Barone to take down Santino Costa.
If this mission wasn’t carried out swifty and completely, Gianni Barone would hold no loyalty towards Ronan because at the end of the day, Ronin is not Italian. So it’s do or die time. Failure is not an option.
Anything that can go wrong, does go wrong for Ronan and the mission he needs to complete before time runs out. Just because he’s an enforcer for the Italian mafia doesn’t mean everything goes his way and that’s what I loved about the book. The author keeps things interesting and the reader, that being me, invested and engaged.
When things don’t go according to plan for Ronan after being distracted by Nia coming out of the diner, that’s when their journey begins. They are both thrust into danger danger danger with twists, turns, and edge of your seat riveting suspense. Throw in some insanely hot sexytime while in the throws of danger and ching ching ching we have a winner. Their chemistry is off the charts, sizzling hot and instant..
Ronan’s life takes on new meaning when it comes to Nia. He will do anything to protect what he believes is his and that would be Nia. They are polar opposites. He has money and is a loner. Nia craves people to be in her life but has only one. Her best friend Carlos. But what they do have in common is they’ve never had family and to me these two people who couldn’t be more different find they just might be a perfect match for each other.
“….. I give him a soft, tasteful kiss-because I’m a real lady now- and he holds me around the waist. His soft kiss is just as exhilarating as his hard one. I feel like I’ve fallen into a pit full of fluffy pillows. “Where are we?” I ask, after we’ve gazed into each other’s eyes for what seems like a blissful eternity. “Home.”
This was my favorite line in the story because “home” is what is at the very heart of this story.
There is so much excitement in this book. What I’ve just written in this review was just the beginning. A few teasers. There is so much more to come. SO MUCH MORE.
Nia is so relatable. So down to earth. I could actually see myself hanging with her. That’s how real her character was written in my opinion. Her sassiness and sarcasm was so funny as was her witty inner dialogue. I found her endearing and very likeable. She had an inner strength I don’t think even she knew she had.
As for Ronan? I fell for him instantly. Just like Nia did.
My favorite supporting character was Finn Salley. He cracked me up. He’s the perfect person to lighten things up with serious Ronan with his one liners.
This uber suspenseful, highly intense, gritty, raw, dangerous and downright sexy insta-love/lustfest will surely keep you on your toes. Which, I might add, is very fitting because Ronan and Nia’s journey is so fast paced, you need to keep up just as much as this couple does to outrun the enemies coming at them from all directions and stay alive as you journey alongside Ronan and Nia as they navigate their way to their HEA, in more ways than one.
The incredibly explosive ending just might give Ronan and Nia the future they both deserve. Two strangers who fell in love at first shootout. The first time they laid eyes on each other. Not from across a crowded room but from across an empty street where war waged and destiny became theirs. Two people desperate for change. A change that included a family, a partner and a new life they’ve never dared dream of. Destined for belonging to someone or something that was actually worth fighting for. One that didn’t include Italian or Russian bloodshed.
Let me end my 5-STAR review by saying I was highly impressed with the quality level of the writing in Blood Bound by debut author Sasha Leone. The quality that she delivers in this mafia romance is both IMPECCABLE & TOP NOTCH!
Honestly, if I didn’t know she was a debut author, I would have thought her to be a seasoned one with plenty of books under her literary belt. The writing was smooth as silk and flowed flawlessly and beautifully throughout. The story was highly entertaining and by the end of the book, I knew I would be reading more by Ms. Leone.
I love this book! It had me from beginning to end. Great characters and story line. Ronan is the enforcer for the Irish Mob. Nia is a waitress in a diner trying to make ends meet. When Ronan and Nia meet during a shootout at the diner sparks fly (not just from the guns). I will definitely be reading more from Sasha Leone.
