“Kick-ass were-coyote auto mechanic Mercedes Thompson” (Publishers Weekly) has leapt to the forefront of today’s urban fantasy heroes, thanks to bestselling author Patricia Briggs. Now, Mercy finds herself in the middle of a bloodbath—with only one way out…Mercy has friends in low places—and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shapeshift at will, she agrees to act … will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind. But this new vampire is hardly ordinary—and neither is the demon inside of him.
When the undead and the werewolves sent to find him don’t return, the local vampire queen turns to Mercy for help. A coyote is no match for a demon, but Mercy is determined to get her friends back—including the two werewolves circling around her heart.

I read all the Mercy Thompson books; this is the second in the series.
This book involved some good world building and expansion of the population of weird and not-humans that Mercy deals with. I loved the character development and working out the guidelines for how magic works in this version of our world. And who wouldn’t root for the wise-cracking Mercy, up against terrible odds because you just don’t abandon your friends?
Another edge of your seat paranormal mystery with Mercy Thompson. New and old characters come alive as you turn the pages. A strong storyline kept me interested until the very last page. I highly recommend this book.
I’m enjoying this series I love how even though Adam is an Alpha he realizes that life is full of give and take and if he wants Mercy his is going to have to give and take in order to keep her, nothing wrong with that in my book.
I love this series.
Excellent read!
Another great Mercy Thompson book. Love these characters. Have read most of the books in the series. Highly recommend!
I love Patricia Briggs and the Mercedes Thompson series. It was my first introduction to the urban fantasy genre and I’ve just fallen in love with her writing style and the worlds she creates. This series is super entertaining and full of great characters, kick-butt action, and great twists and turns. I can’t wait for her to write more books!
Y’all, this reread was so flipping good. Blood Bound revolves largely around vampire drama and is a page turner if I’ve ever read one. The pacing is on point, and there isn’t one moment I can think back on where I was bored or tired of this story.
The only teeeeeeny tiny annoyance is the whole “everyone is in love with Mercy” thing. But that’s honestly such a minor part of the book, it isn’t terribly bothersome.
One of my favorite things about going back and rereading is seeing where Mercy started off, power wise and how others treat her. Mercy is almost always underestimated, and yet she’s a pivotal force for so many things that happen in these novels.
The struggle Mercy faced towards the end (I won’t say more to avoid spoilers) is spectacularly told and reads true.
You can’t go wrong with anything Patricia Briggs writes. Her people are plausible, engaging and relatable. Her heroine is strong and resourceful but not hopelessly flawless. Story line is engaging and her world building is consistent and logical. From her early works to now, no one does it better.
Great continuation of the story. Domino effect sort of style for this one – Mercy has to repay a favor to Stefan which takes her down the rabbit hole of adventure. I love that we get to understand how Mercy thinks and why she does each step.
If you enjoyed Moon Called, continue the series with this one because Mercy isn’t finished yet.
Love this series..Mercy Thompson Rocks
The cover looks way sexier than the book actually is. This is not a romance novel. It’s a sci-fi/fantasy. I really like the story and the characters.
Call me a wuss. Sometimes I have to close the book take a breath and then trust that Mercy Thompson is going to be alright. I have never been been disappointed. I am a devotee of Mercy’s.
I love everything about this character Mercy.
I love this series!
