Dante Gabriel is starving. What he craves is red gold—human blood. After being held captive as a blood slave to a female vampire for years, he has finally escaped. Unchained at last, he follows his nose to the nearest blood bank to sate his hunger.ER nurse Erin Hamilton expects just another busy night shift…until she finds a gorgeous stranger vandalizing the hospital blood bank. Though her logic … her logic tells her to turn him in, she’s pulled by stronger and unfamiliar emotions to protect the man who seems oddly infatuated with her scent. Chemistry sizzles between them, but Dante, plagued by nightmares of his time in captivity, fears he won’t be able to control himself…especially when he discovers a secret she doesn’t even know she’s hiding.

I’m not the biggest fan of serialized books, but, in the case of Helen Hardt, she’s making me be a believer. I don’t have a lot of patience (or memory, lol) to want to wait for each part. After reading about the Steele brothers saga, I’ve reconsidered my position. The premise of the story about Dante and Erin is intriguing and different and it’s set in New Orleans, what more can you want. Vampire stories are not always my favorite, it takes a special writer to get me interested and want to read more. J. R. Ward has done it and Nora Roberts did it with her Circle Trilogy. Helen Hardt has now joined with them with her story about Dante and his family. I am anxiously waiting for the next installment to learn more about Dante’s past, what happened to him, and why do Dante and Erin have a special bond.
Oh, I didn’t want to read this book. I’m easily frightened. But I promised one of my book buddies, I would give it my best shot.
In the beginning, I was ready to throw in the towel. But my friend begged me not to give up. So I pushed myself, slowly…
Well, let me just tell you, Helen with the help of my book buddy, has converted me …Once a vampire everything hater to now, kinda diggin’ them. Well, Dante anyway. Can I just say HAWT.
Loved this story about Dante and Erin. Now here I am, having to wait for the next book in the series.
Superb Job, Helen Hardt!
I will admit I was a little cautious starting Blood Bond. I was hoping and praying it wasn’t anything like Twilight. I am so glad I took the chance! It was everything I hoped for in a book about vampires!! Dante and Erin have an instant connection and they can’t stand to be away from each other. They both feel a pull towards each other. It did end on a cliff hanger and I can’t wait to read part 2!
This is my first ever vampire romance (twilight aside) ever and boy boy am I glad I made Helen Hardt the first. She has drawn me in to this world without it being tacky or cliche. Buffy meets Gabriel’s Inferno and I couldn’t put this down and now I am dying for the next one**
Dante and Erin will just surpass all expectations, defy all possibilities, and convert all hearts, minds, and souls from the very first. A third of Dante’s has been taken from him and now coming into this world a grown vampiric man he has to a lot to adjust to. Hungers and thirsts control all his impulses which is how he finds himself face to face with the intoxicating Erin Hamilton. Everything about this woman calls to him. He needs her instinctually and this primal urge is frankly undeniable. Always have been a nocturnal person by nature, Erin is used to the crazy that is NOLA nightlife, but when she catches a mesmerizing man vandalizing the blood bank she is left completely stunned. Dante Gabriel bewitches her to the point of recklessness but she can’t for the life of her care. Some hungers and just too powerfully to deny.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book
It was an excellant read. A shorter book that sunk its teeth in and makes you anxious for the rest to roll out. Everyone needs a Dante
