A fierce sandstorm hits southern Algeria and uncovers a lost ruin, its location unknown to modern man…until now. A team led by slacker archaeologist, Harrison “Hank” Boyd, is called in to investigate the find.In way over his head, Hank must lead his team through countless dangers and survive brutal encounters with enemies both human and inhuman alike. And if that’s not bad enough, a shadowy … shadowy group with a thirst for violence and a blind ambition is hot on their heels and will stop at nothing to obtain what has been found.
Hank and company should have heeded the warning left by the ancient civilization who built this place. Expertly carved into the face of the golden relief found at the ruin entrance and written in perfect Latin is ‘liberate te ex inferis’…save yourself from hell.
Matthew James’ debut novel is an action-packed thrill-ride reminiscent of Jeremy Robinson, Matthew Reilly, and James Rollins. Sit back and enjoy yourself while getting lost in an adventure like no other.
*Also, check out a ‘Behind the Scenes’ look at the process of putting together this book, starting from Day 1. It’s located in the back, right after the last chapter.

Fun read.
Very interesting and keeps your attention til the 32nd.
Very good with a cup of coffee and some dark chocolate.
It’s a good read if you look past the grammatical and punctuation errors and missing words.
I would have much more enjoyed this book if it weren’t so loaded with grammatical errors, strange or incorrect choice of words, punctuation off, apostrophe challenged, juvenile prose, etc. I liked the story and characters quite well, otherwise I would not have finished this book. So five stars for the story and characters, maybe two for the text that seems unedited… I will read more books by this author, especially the next two of this series, to find out if this was just a fluke or if this is an acceptable style now in the literary world…
Horrible exaggerated present day fantasy of Atlantis saga.
A little too much sci-fi for me.
This is probably an OK book for a teen age or very young adult boy… but I found it unnecessarily gory, unbelievable, and poorly written. Macho character was just a pain in the behind. The Dad was a little better. Thank heavens it was free.
Good reading for enjoyment. It was a little wordy in places, but overall a good read I would recommend for someone who likes adventure stories. I’m reading the next one in the series now, Babel Found.
A real page tirner. Difficult to put down and go to sleep
one of the best
It had a good storyline that held your attention. As it was a unique story the reader didn’t know where it would lead. All in all a very good tale.
Not really impressed, but I am sure younger readers would enjoy him
A well written book. Very good.
I felt the book moved at a slow pace and the plot didn’t seem well developed.
just enough humor to keep a serious theme entertaining
Being a wheelchair archaeologist, I read a lot of books having to do with history and adventure. This book met all my criteria for a good, realistic adventure, with a little romance thrown in. Being on disability, I have very little money to spend on anything, but I have already started saving my pennies to acquire the author’s next book.
As a veteran it was meaningful to me.
Very good read couldn’t put it down after the first few chapters
Fun summer read with a few twists.
