A fierce sandstorm hits southern Algeria and uncovers a lost ruin, its location unknown to modern man…until now. A team led by slacker archaeologist, Harrison “Hank” Boyd, is called in to investigate the find.In way over his head, Hank must lead his team through countless dangers and survive brutal encounters with enemies both human and inhuman alike. And if that’s not bad enough, a shadowy … shadowy group with a thirst for violence and a blind ambition is hot on their heels and will stop at nothing to obtain what has been found.
Hank and company should have heeded the warning left by the ancient civilization who built this place. Expertly carved into the face of the golden relief found at the ruin entrance and written in perfect Latin is ‘liberate te ex inferis’…save yourself from hell.
Matthew James’ debut novel is an action-packed thrill-ride reminiscent of Jeremy Robinson, Matthew Reilly, and James Rollins. Sit back and enjoy yourself while getting lost in an adventure like no other.

Great book. I loved it!
Interesting premise for the story, but wasn’t very fond of the lead character and his arrogance! Overall good book and am interested in more in this series.
Great debut. Somewhat formulaic (in a good way), but original enough to keep me engaged.
That is an odd title for a subject line I know.
But this was a break out book for me. I love to watch this kind of movie, but I preferred to read about romance/erotica. But I thought it was time to branch out, and this came highly recommend.
Firstly I think the summery or description for the book is a little misleading, which lead me to expect something for the first 20 chapters that never happen the way I thought it would.
Once you get past that, you are in the adventure that you signed up for. I disagree with little things here and there, but not enough to have it mess with the over all story for me.
Is this book worth your time?
Do you like adventure? Then yes.
Do you like mythological history? Then yes.
Do you like super power fights? Then yes.
Do you like mystery and a little black ops? Then yes.
Do you like twists and turns? Then yes.
This book is worth your time.
It was more fantasy than action. Wasn’t expecting that.
Loved it! As with all of this authors books, its a roller coater ride. Keeps you on your toes and reading when you shouldn’t!
Read it and now I need to read the prequel to get more insight. Fun read.
A bit predictable but an ok read
Fun book to read. The author has a great imagination. Couldn’t put it down.
i enjoyed reading this book very much once i got into it i couldn’t put it down
Outstanding stories. Very entertaining and can’t wait for more stories from this talented author
I really liked this; entertaining and unpredictable.
To far-fetched. The whole storyline just didn’t seem plausible.
I had challenges with this book. At the end I found the author is obsessed with the characters of another book/movie set and his obsession moved him to name the characters after his favorite characters. He did it as an homage. to me it made the book trite and juvenile. The constant reference to the the other characters had me confused as to what I was reading and who the character really was. His premise was good but the delivery was distracting.
Fun book to read!
This booked dragged for me, I didn’t read to the end, though I tried.
Contrived, unbelievable, tiring. Almost didn’t finish.
I started this book, and reading the beginning was a thrill, but then the dialog, for me, was a big disappointment. I simply couldn’t read the painful exchange between the characters
Great story with a fairly novel twist. Funny and well done.
One of those books that you just wish was longer… and longer. Makes you wonder if the next book you read will keep you anywhere near as engrossed.
