What happens when an almost thirty-year-old virgin agrees to let her Scottish footballer best friend give her some lessons in seduction? Lots of banter, awkwardness, jealousy, and heat. Midfielder Maclay “Mac” Logan is a loud-mouthed, tattooed ginger content with focusing on football. But when an adorable, freckled seamstress comes barreling into his life, he finds Netflix-And-Bickering with her … Netflix-And-Bickering with her to be his new favorite pastime.
Freya Cook is used to being the invisible woman with a needle and thread, offering cheeky punchlines as she helps dress London’s finest. She’s plus-sized in body and spirit, and other than her friendship with Mac, talking to the opposite sex is one skill she never mastered.
However, after one innocent game of Never Have I Ever, Mac offers to play Love Coach for Freya.
What neither of them see coming are the feelings that develop when the clothes come off.
Now they’re both about to learn the biggest lesson of all: Don’t fall in love with your best friend.
Blindsided is a full length (97,000 words) contemporary rom-com standalone with a sports theme.

Never have I ever.
Best friends to lovers. A football player from Scotland meets a Welsh lass in London and the sparks fly. Let’s be best buds, until the lass confesses she’s a virgin. Hilarious and heartbreaking it takes them a while to figure it out.
Great read!
Blindsided by Amy Daws is a contemporary, friends to lovers, sports romantic comedy told in first person dual, POV. It is a standalone companion novel to the Harris Brothers series, and though it’s unnecessary to read those first, doing so provides maximum enjoyment as many of the primary characters from the Harris Brothers are secondary characters in Blindsided.
Pro footballer, Mac, and seamstress, Freya, have been best friends ever since they met a year ago. They’re an unlikely pair who love to spend time together bickering and watching Netfix which makes their friends think they “Netflix and chill” when that’s really not the case. Everything changes one night after Freya confesses to still being a virgin and Mac offers to be her love coach. What will happen between Freya and Mac when they leave the friend zone? Read the book to find out.
I loved Freya and Mac’s story! They were hilarious together and their banter was witty, fun, and effortless. This book hooked me from the start and I ended up reading it in one sitting. It was so funny and sweet. I highly recommend it!
Another wonderful book by one of my favorite authors…Love Mac and Freya…
Blindsided by Amy Daws a five-star read that you will not see coming. I have only just started this one again as when it was first released, I just kept sobbing every time I picked it up as it is written by one of the nicest people I have ever met. I met Amy Daws at a signing this year and she was so nice to me even after I sobbed all over her. But that’s a different story and about a whole other novel, and it just adds more credence to the fact that Amy Daws can do no wrong with her witting. Freya Cook or Cookie as a devilishly handsome scots man likes to call her, is a woman after my own heart, and also body if I’m being truthful. This was a great story of a Love coach showing not only how to fall in to love but also maybe who to fall in love with? I know what you will find in this story, love and laughter and lots else that will surprise you. Do not miss this amazing story, as once again Amy Daws shows she writes gold.
Truly enemies to lovers romance…well she may hate him but he doesn’t seem to hate her.
Dusty is far from home transferring to a college in Texas with a new plan for herself. Stone is a hometown football hero who made it big playing Pro football in Texas. Dusty has had a rough go, she wants a fresh start but then she sees Stone. As much as she hates him she also remembers how good of friends they were until 6th grade. The two are thrown together due to some crazy circumstances and they are combustible. Amazing book
Gah, Amy Daws you wrote the PERFECT story for Freya and Mac! I absolutely adore these two—their relationship is like no other and it was such a joy to see them fall in love! Their story is funny, romantic, frustrating and adorable to sum it up best! Blindsided reads as a complete standalone but it is part of the Harris Brother’s world. If you haven’t read those stories, do yourself a favor and go back and check them out—the entire series is amazing! But if you want to just jump into Blindsided, you can do so without any problems. Just know there will be spoilers for the earlier books!
Gosh I love Freya! She is insecure and sees herself as completely flawed and unloveable but she is far from that. This woman is successful, dedicated, faithful and completely loveable. Her quirkiness only enhances my love for her. Inexperienced with men, she’s naive in the most adorable way. Her unconventional friendship with Maclay, the sexy Scottish futbol player is easy and fun. I love their bickering and witty banter which only fuels the fire with these two. Mac and Freya have several obstacles to overcome before they reach their happy ending but don’t worry, they get there eventually!
Daw’s writing is superb and I love how she builds the story at just the right pace. All of our favorite Harris family members make appearances which was a huge treat as always. Don’t miss out on this wonderful story! 5 stars
Another amazing book from Amy Daws! I LOVED Freya and Mac–they were so real and so unique. And together, they were perfection!
I adored this book! Amy Daws is gifted and has a special voice as an author, there is no doubt about it. I’ve read a few of the others in her Harris brother series and they are all sweet and funny as! But this one was special. These characters were amazingly unique and irresistible, and the dialogue rang true. The message about self-love (and not listening to the lying voice in your head that tells you you’re not good enough) was spot on and just what we all need to keep in mind – especially us women! (This is my honest review of an ARC) I rarely give 5 star reviews. Highly recommend.
Review: Looking for a read that has it all. You found it! Let Amy Daws entertain you with her wit and we’ll written story about two friends that become more but not without a few foul cards in play. Freya, a curvy red head with sass, is about to turn thirty and let’s just say she’s looking to catch up with her maturity with ”the sex”. Well it turns out her best friend Mac might be just who could help with that. Mac is a football, tattooed hottie with a soft spot for Freya. He’s been a sex only relationship recently and when it ended it played havoc on his mental game. That’s not a good place for a pro baller. His friendship with Freya is his saving grace. When he learns about Freya’s plans to loose her virginity, he doesn’t want Freya to get hurt by someone who doesn’t want anything more than sex. But will she and Mac be able to keep it as friends with benefits or a limited time only or will the real true feelings take these two into ‘ex’-ville. This is a must read!!!
Blindsided was a cute read. Mac and Freya were sweet together and I loved watching them fall for each other. This is a friends to lovers story which is a weakness of mine. I love reading stories like this.
Mac and Freya have been friends for a while now. Only in secret. Freya doesn’t want anyone to know they are friends because she is herself and Mac is Mac. The footballer. The guy is super hot and it wouldn’t make sense why he is friends with her. Only Mac wants to bring their friendship out in the open and she finally relents.
And then things get interesting. Because Freya is a homebody and doesn’t really have much experience with men. When Mac finds this out one night he is there to help her. Because if you can’t trust your friends to help you who can you trust? Oh, it was fun. Freya thinks she is just super honest about what she looks like and stuff, but really she doesn’t like her looks. I loved how Mac would call her out on talking down about herself. He gets her to see her for her and how amazing she really is.
Mac is not one for relationships. He has to focus on his career and he doesn’t have time for that. He has never wanted to have a relationship…until he starts more with Freya and then maybe things change. Oh, it was a fun read. I enjoyed watching these two figure everything out and bring out the best in each other.
*Note: I received a free copy of this book for voluntary review consideration
I love Amy Daws’ sense of humor. So, it’s no surprise I’m always excited for her next book. Her characters are real and engaging. I loved the main characters in Blindsided with their struggle to see what was right in front of them. Check out Amy’s books. You won’t be sorry. Happy reading!
It was fun to be back in the Harris Brothers universe with this standalone book.
Mac and Freya are best mates and as such they bicker and argue.
Freya is a seamstress, that is shy around men which leads to problems with dating them.
Mac is a hot, swoon worthy footballer (soccer) player. He decides to help his best mate with her problems. However, things begin to change when he finds out how inexperience Freya is in all aspects.
How does their relationship change with all this help?
Amy did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, and I can’t wait to read more.
What a fun book to read and I adored these characters. They are just 2 hard headed stubborn people who “get” each other without even realizing they “get” each other completely. Everyone around them can see they are a match made in heaven. But they are just best friends. So many good little tid bits of fun story line tucked all over in this book. Loved Mac’s Grandfather too. Love how we also get to keep up with all of the couples that we already know about too, but still get a new story for a new couple. Not sure if it will end up as friends or lovers though…. Guess you’ll have to read this book to find out.
This is in my top 5 favorite reads of 2019, and Amy Daws is quickly becoming a one-click author for me! Her characters are witty, sassy, and real.
For those who have read the Harris Brothers series, this is a spin-off, and many favorite characters have cameo appearances! However, Blindsided can be easily enjoyed without having any previous knowledge of the supporting characters.
Blindsided is the story of Freya and Mac, best friends turned lovers…and these two are all the feels. Every single one.
This is a sweet and funny story, filled with heat, humor, and heart. Freya and Mac’s easy-going friendship (which anyone can see for what it really is) makes the transition to lovers surprisingly awkward-free and seamless (and pretty darn funny).
Freya is quirky and fun, and someone I would love to have as a best friend. A 29 year old virgin, she can be a little down on herself and insecure. And she has the absolute worst experiences with men and dating.
Mac is a well-known, sexy, Scottish footballer who spends most of his free time holed up in Freya’s apartment. He is focused and determined, and maybe…just a little bit out of his element.
What starts off as a way to help Freya gain confidence quickly morphs into something that looks a heck of a lot like love. Together, these two are fire. They argue like an old married couple, and that passion translates well into other areas of their relationship.
Their road to HEA isn’t easy, and my heart hurt for them; I found myself laughing and crying, and loving every minute of their journey.
I can’t wait to see what Amy Daws has in store for us next!
The story is beautiful, so fresh and with an incredible sense of humor. And the characters are so adorable that I’ve felt every phrase and emotion they projected on me.
Freya in her late twenties as a virgin seemed impossible and her ignorance about sex has made me laugh a lot, especially in her conversations with Mac.
“Netflix and chill means Netflix and sex,” Mac explains. “We don’t do The Sex!” I exclaim and shift myself over so the sides of our thighs are no longer touching. “You and I are just mates!”
This is more than just another story of best friends who fall in love, it’s to accompany this couple in their relationship, to see how Mac is more than willing to be that person who will help Freya look and feel just the way she is and not the way she looks at herself.
“My point is, you look like that.” Then I gesture to myself. “And I look like this.”
That Mac speaks with that Scottish accent and Freya imitates him by highlighting the R has nothing to do with me falling in love with him (nope, definitely not, LOL, who I’m trying to fool).
The only thing I feel is that since this is the first thing I read from this author, it seems to me that there are stories prior to this one and that I just spoiler myself, and to solve it I will go read them and catch up.

FIVE STARS!!
HOLY.CRAP.
Amy OUTDID herself. This Harris Brother Spin-off has taken me for a whirlwind, given me my biggest book hangover, and has kept me wanting more from are favorite Scot Macky.
Maclay Logan and Freya cook are the BEST book couple, because we all love the friends that fall in love, right? But no relationship is butterflies and rainbows, and when Mac and Freya get pulled apart, feelings are hurt, hearts are crushed, and spirits are stomped on. This was a read that could not be put down and need to read ASAP.
God this books was just incredible.
Mac and Freya were serisouly the cutest.
I freakin loved them, the banter, the cheekiness and the cuteness was just divine.
Mac was just all out charming and boy he had me in stiches I laughed out loud reading this.
Freya was fabulous I loved that she was a curvy awkward girl who you just fell in love with.
This was a sweet, epic ,sexy as hell love story.
Every page had me captivated, in stiches and in love.
Mac and Freya were the ultimate couple. Fun, quirky and sweet
There was nothing about this story that I didn’t love every chapter had me Intruiged and had me fall more in love with Mac and Freya. Amy just writes the most amazing stories everything she writes makes me love her words more and more.
A sweet love story that will have you laugh out loud and love the banter between Mac and Freya.
Totally team Mac and Freya!
I totally laugh snorted through most of Mac and Freya’s story! I absolutely loved them so hard. Amy Daws definitely hit her mark with this must read. It’s one of those books that when you laugh, you really laugh, when you cry, you’ll totally bawl, and when you swoon, your heartstrings and ovaries overload! I blame Amy Daws for me dreaming of a hot ginger yelling at me with his thick Scottish accent. Lol. Blindsided is one of those reads that you just cant stop thinking about. So reload your munchies stash, grab some wine, and enjoy the ride.
Amy Daws is my new favorite addiction and an automatic 1click author. Blindsided is a must read sports romance you dont want to miss out on! Cant wait to see what she’s coming out with next.
I need more stars! Amy Daws is a master at giving us unique TDF characters that we can root for and fall in love with like Mac and Freya. Combine the characters with an always sweet, sexy, funny romance and it’s a must read. I loved Mac and Freya in the last book and their story did not disappoint. They bickered and fought and fumbled their way to a panty-melting love that is spectacular. It’s so hard to pick a favorite from this author but this has to be at the top of my list. I loved that Freya is not the typical sexy, beautiful heroine but has her own type of beauty that is so special and the perfect match for the big blustery Scot, Mac. These two are so funny together that my sides were hurting from laughing so hard. This is an absolutely fantastic read from an outstanding author. I always love the football backdrop of these stories with the sexy athletes and their crazy ways. Don’t miss this one! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
I knew I was going to love this book, yet I was still unprepared for how much I loved Freya and Mac’s story! From their friendship, to him becoming her “love coach,” to the inevitable slide to love that took them both by surprise – I loved every word (even the ones that made me cry and believe me, tears were shed). Their banter was hilarious, the chemistry was off the charts, and the emotional growth and revelations both characters went through were so damn real and relatable. I know that this is a book that I will reread repeatedly and I’m definitely getting the audiobook as soon as it’s available so that I can hear Freya’s Cornish accent and Mac’s Scottish brogue. I also really enjoyed the inclusion of the extended Harris family (including cameos of all the babies) and the epilogue was so precious. I’m excited at the prospect of getting another book in this world!!! 5 out of 5 wine glasses.
