What happens when an almost thirty-year-old virgin agrees to let her Scottish footballer best friend give her some lessons in seduction? Lots of banter, awkwardness, jealousy, and heat. Midfielder Maclay “Mac” Logan is a loud-mouthed, tattooed ginger content with focusing on football. But when an adorable, freckled seamstress comes barreling into his life, he finds Netflix-And-Bickering with her … Netflix-And-Bickering with her to be his new favorite pastime.
Freya Cook is used to being the invisible woman with a needle and thread, offering cheeky punchlines as she helps dress London’s finest. She’s plus-sized in body and spirit, and other than her friendship with Mac, talking to the opposite sex is one skill she never mastered.
However, after one innocent game of Never Have I Ever, Mac offers to play Love Coach for Freya.
What neither of them see coming are the feelings that develop when the clothes come off.
Now they’re both about to learn the biggest lesson of all: Don’t fall in love with your best friend.
Blindsided is a full length (97,000 words) contemporary rom-com standalone with a sports theme.

Couldn’t put it down. Exceptional characters with wonderful chemistry. Quirky yet fun. Just a joy to read. Loved the ending!
Great story and awesome character development.
Amy Daws has created some of my all time favorite characters in the Harris Brothers series and although it may not technically be about a Harris brother, Blindsided is no different. The audio narration sucked Me into Amy Daws’s excellently crafted Story and had me giggling at Mac and Freya’s comical banter. I could sit and listen to the audiobook without realizing how much time was passing because I was entranced by this fun and relateable story.
I absolutely loved this book! Mac & Freya are now one of my favorite couples! The story was wonderful & the narrators made it even better. Simply amazing!

This duet narration was absolute perfection. I loved Will and Charlotte’s voices. They did an excellent job with the characters, with the accents, with the emotions. They had great pace and timing and really brought the story to life. It was an absolute pleasure listening to them narrate this novel.
Blindsided by Amy Daws is contemporary romantic comedy that I listened to on audio narrated by Will Watt and Charlotte Cole. This book is a Harris Brothers series spin off that can be read as a standalone.
This is the first book of Amy’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. She took me on an emotional roller coaster. You can’t help but fall in love with Mac and Freya.
Will and Charlotte did an amazing job on the narration! I absolutely loved the dual narration and their accents. They really brought this story to life!
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves sports romance, rom-coms, or friends to lover’s romance.
What can I say about this book! it’s perfect, just like coming home after awhile. I love revisiting some old characters from the first books.

As for the narration, Will Watt and Charlotte Cole perfect as always, I hadn’t realised how much I’ve missed their narration until I started listening to them agai, they are phenomenal ,wonderful, just a perfect team and I really hope to listen to them again soon.
This audio book is the GOLD STANDARD for romance. It was exceptional!
The narrators demonstrated a wide variety of accents that were spot on! And they made this story completely come to life.
For anyone looking to dive into the world of audiobooks, this would be the perfect one to start with.
As for the story, I could not get enough of Mac and Freya. They were adorably, sexy and they made me laugh and swoon.
I just don’t know what more to say. I couldn’t have enjoyed it any more than I did. <3
I loved all about this audiobook: The cover, the author’s words, the story, the characters, the ending, and the narration! Amy Daws never disappoints! Mac and Frey’s best friends to lovers story is fun, emotional, flirty, sweet, romantic, and sexy. They are great together, and they share a precious friendship, and an undeniable chemistry. Mac is a sexy footballer, handsome, reserved, caring, and protective. Freya is such a lovely woman, feisty, innocent, and caring. Her enthusiasm to know all about ‘The Sex’ is hilarious. I laughted out loud at the scene ‘Never Have I Ever Game’. Of course, having the Harris Clan as supporting characters is just amazing. Fergus is also a wonderful characters. The ending is perfect! I loved the Epilogue. Will Watt and Charlotte Cole did an outstandid duet narration of the story. I love their voices together. They are both in my list of favorite narrators. I highly recommend this audiobook. What’s next? I would love to have Tillie and Santino’s secret story!
********* AUDIOBOOK REVIEW *********
Freya and Mac are total besties and it’s hard for people of the opposite sex to be friends. There’s usually one of ya that starts to fall no matter how hard you resist. I’m feeling like Mack was sweet on her way before he had an excuse to fall back on. But even then, I could not get enough of them. They were so sweet and just adorable together! They totally had the old couple vibe going on and I just couldn’t help laughing at them throughout the book. This is really one of those stories that has a little bit of everything… that sweet friendship building up to something special, fun scenes… hilarious scenes, I just adored them as people and together! Then they pulled out the heat! I just couldn’t get enough.
Will Watt and Charlotte Cole just KILLED this narration!! I mean, how is it not illegal for Will Watt to have such a sinful Scottish brogue? He was just a dream to listen too! A dream! Then with Charlotte Cole and her soft voice, she fit Freya perfectly… a little peppy and upbeat. They were just fantastic together!!
Seriously, enjoyed every little bit of this!
Best friends Mac and Freya were more than happy to “Netflix and bicker;” that is until they, along with their friends, play an innocent game of Never Have I Ever and Mac finds out that his gorgeous plus-sized best friend is still a virgin and has a hard time talking to members of the opposite sex. Mac becomes Freya’s love coach and after the first few lessons, Freya realizes that she’s falling for Mac…
Mac and Freya’s bickering and bantering was so much fun to listen to and made them (and their relationship) seem more realistic. Freya’s socially awkwardness and insecurities make her so relatable. This book is steamy, funny, and dramatic with a little bit of angst.
Narrators Will Watt and Charlotte Cole did an amazing job. They really brought the characters to life with their performance.
Blindsided is a best friends-to-lovers contemporary sports romance written in dual first-person POV and narrated duet style. It’s a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
I read the kindle book November 2019 & Audio February 2020. I loved them both. Mac and Freya have chemistry like nobody’s business! In the audio: Charlotte Cole and Will Watt were spot on. Wonderfully cast and the dual narration was perfectly done. This is spin off from the Harris Brothers. Can be a Standalone.
Fantastic Story & Narration A Brilliant Delight!
Blindsided
A Best Friends to Lovers Standalone
By: Amy Daws
Narrated by: Will Watt, Charlotte Cole
Amy Daws delivers another fantastic novel and it is absolutely brilliant, I’d give it 10 stars if I could. I listened to the Audible edition and I felt like I was transported overseas, to the UK and Scotland and right in the midst of these characters lives. And what great characters they are, from the Harris clan to the two leads Freya and Mac. Amy Daws is a gifted author, her stories and characters are realistic and easy to relate to, her descriptive detailing enable her readers and/or listeners an inside view of what the characters are seeing, feeling and what they are going through. And I must give a shout out to the wonderful dialogue, in addition to great banter she perfected the dialect and slang of the region. Maclay “Mac” Logan is originally from Scotland, he plays football and is Roan Dewalt’s roommate. Freya, a seamstress, works with and is good friends with Allie Harris. Freya and Mac starting hanging out together, they get along great (most of the time) and became besties. When it comes to men Freya is inexperienced and when Mac volunteers to be her love coach she agrees. The chemistry between them was smoking and the temporary arrangement they agreed upon blindsided both of them. I love how everything plays out in this book, there is never a dull moment and is filled with plenty of great humor, drama, a touch of angst, some heartfelt moments and a great friends to lovers romance. This book is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and I highly recommend it. It is the type of book you do not want to put down, it captivates you from start to end. Amy Daws, thank you for another fantastic story, all the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
Will Watt and Charlotte Cole are awesome narrators and talented voice artists. They do an amazing job portraying the characters and bringing them to life giving each their own voice and personality. It is like they become the characters, they capture their emotions, their passion and project it into their performance. Will Watt’s Mac was swoon worthy and Charlotte Cole’s Freya was pure perfection. Both were great with the dialogue and banter, they landed the humor never missing a beat. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen
Audiobook Review
This book has it all! Bring on the hangover. I’m ready.
I loved the relationship between Mac and Fraya. So much banter and it was hilarious. Fraya is so awkward it will have you cracking up. Mac is my new book boyfriend
If you’re looking for steam, chemistry, banter, laughter and emotional heartbreak I highly recommend this book!
Audio review;
This is by far the BEST audiobook I have listened to….EVER! Blindsided blew me away and the accents are utterly dreamy. These two narrators have a chemistry that you could feel as they read the story. It was intense and the story is quite incredible and sinful and so much fun! I am now OBSESSED with Amy Daws’s audios! I. Must. Have. More.
I’m new to audio books and I don’t think I could have started with a better one. Listening to Blindsided was such a treat! The narrators brought the characters and the story to life. I felt like I was watching a movie and not listening to a book. That makes it really good, right? Their accents and ethnic lingo tied everything together. I smiled at the sweetness, I laughed at the hilarious antics of Mac and Freya, I gritted my teeth when Mac made stupid, idiotic decisions, and I cried when they felt pain. Their bickering and bantering made this book so much fun to listen to and made their relationship real. The shenanigans they get up to and their oh so very sexy and unbridled passion for each other was hhhhot! Once they crossed that line, there was no stopping them, and Mac seems like a wonderful teacher.
I’ve now learned a few naughty things through a little game called Never Have I Ever, I’ve learned how beautiful and treasured a man can make a woman feel when he puts some thought into it, and I’ve learned that if a man pays attention and knows how a woman takes her coffee, knows her favourite shows and her favourite things in life, then he is a keeper! Mac may have gotten a few things wrong along the way, but in the end, he got it right!
To be quite honest, the story itself made me crack up laughing most of the time. The interactions between these two best mates was priceless. Totally off the comical charts. Mac and Freya are absolutely two peas in a pod fighting for elbow room. I loved watching them grow from friends, to lovers, to something more. Their friends and family knew their true feelings way before either of them did, and when Mac and Freya finally realized they’d been blindsided by an unexpected love, my day had been made. They are perfect for each other.
Freya speaks her mind, especially to Mac, and had me snort laughing at the words that left her mouth. Her inner dialogue is just as shocking and I absolutely love her. She is a bold and beautiful human being who I could be friends with in a hot minute. She is plagued with self-esteem issues over the flaws she sees in her plus-sized body. She’s not so different than many of us. Hearing Mac comfort her with his own truths about her, melted my heart. We should all be so lucky as to have a man like Mac in our corner, even if he is a shite cow sometimes.
Mac is a bloke and so he thinks with his other head, aka loch ness monster, most of the time. He loves his best friend and won’t jeopardize that friendship for anything. Their friends-with-benefits arrangement makes perfect sense to him. And why wouldn’t it? Sex has nothing to do with love, right! Mac seems genuinely surprised at Freya’s naivete and view of the world, and when he goes about setting her straight with a Scottish tongue lashing, I’m a goner.
As I listened to all the craziness that follows Mac and Freya around, I couldn’t help but shake my head and laugh. Quite frankly, the story is absolutely brilliant and Amy Daws blew me away. This book deserves 5 brilliant shining stars.
I’ve followed Amy Daws since tires, tires, tires became a thing and I love her social media interactions. And yet, I have not yet read one of her Harris books—I know—shame on me! Blindsided brought all those beloved characters back together for another Harris wedding and not once did I feel lost. I love it when authors do this and Author Amy Daws did a bang-up job of filling in who the characters are and now I feel totally ready for all of the Harris brother books. I suppose, if you are a person who prefers to read interconnected books in order, then perhaps you should stay away from Blindsided, but I hope you don’t. Mac and Freya have their very own story to tell and what a whopper it is.
WOW… WOW… WOW… Will Watt and Charlotte Cole were just simply amazing. Best dual narration I have ever heard. I have always wanted Freya to have her own book and Amy Daws blew my mind. I have to say I laughed so hard and I have to admit I cried buckets too. Mac was just simply delicious and I loved him, but I wanted to smack some sense into him as well. This book shows two friends who can’t see what is right in front of them. Plus more Harris Clan too, who can say no to hot footballers!!! Highly recommend this book and I loved this narration so much!!!
Blindsided
A Best Friends to Lovers Standalone
By: Amy Daws
Narrated by: Will Watt, Charlotte Cole
This is the way to start the day. Amy Daws never ceases to amaze me with her writing. I not only get to laugh out loud, learn new terms and feel every emotion, but I also know I am going to fall in love. Mac and Freya are best friends. As Freya approaches her 30th birthday, she knows there are things she wants to experience, and who should volunteer to help, but her best friend. And our fun begins. Mac is the one I fell for first. There is something about this huge footballer that just screams warmth and love. We get to see all sides of him, and it’s endearing, as he is not just the burly, hot soccer player. He is so much more. Freya grew on me, I think because she just hits so close to home. I love how she sees herself, flaws and all. It’s how we all perceive things, and I love how Daws has has her evolve, seeing not only how she sees herself, but how others do. Having the Harris Brothers pop in with their wives is just a plus. This best friends to lovers story is one you do not want to miss. It does standalone, but if you haven’t, you will want to go back and meet the rest of those handsome Harris Brothers!
Now the narration. Amy Daws knows how to pick them, and Will Watt and Charlotte Cole are the best choice for this! Their chemistry is amazing, their duet narration flawless and the accents are just incredible. I love these two together, they are seamless, find the best voices for their characters and just enhance to story to make it the best it can be.

4 Blindsided Stars
Blindsided was my first read from Amy Daws. I can’t remember why I picked it up I think it was recommended to me through Kindle unlimited so I went for it. Not realising that there where loads of other books and series and that a lot of the secondary characters where from previous books. This didn’t really matter to this story but I’m a sticker for reading books in order even if there not technology in a series.
Mac glares at me while maintaining his smile. “Just last week, you had an entire conversation with your salad about how if you could take a pill that made the lettuce taste like crisps, the two of you could actually be mates.” “That was a conversation between me and the romaine,” I quip, hating the way he mimicked my Cornish accent. No matter how hard I try to ditch it, that West Country twang slips out. “And you shouldn’t have been ear-wigging.”
Freya and Mac meet through friends over a year ago and have become great friends. They eat meals together, they watch a LOT of Netflix together and over the year they have become fast friends.
The world can often feel like a one-size-fits-all place, but applying a few alterations can make life a perfect fit. That and Spanx. God bless the creator of Spanx.
With their friends up and coming wedding where Freya is maid of honor and Mac is best man, Freya is desperate to have a date…
“I love your freckles!” he barks, splaying one hand out on the counter and using his other hand to bop my nose. “They make me want to play connect the dots on your wee face.”
The growing attraction between the both of them had me sitting at the edge of my sit with a huge lump in my throat wanting to know more. The hilarious banter between the two had me in stitches. This was such a sweet, fun and entertaining read I would highly recommend it and I’m off to read more by Amy Daws.

Blindsided: A Best Friends to Lovers Standalone
When I read the word “virginity” in the synopsis, I cringed. Honestly, If I hadn’t already been a huge fan of Amy Daws or introduced to Freya in Amy’s others books, I might have skipped it just based on that one word. Thankfully, this isn’t your typical read about a virgin. It’s not your typical anything. The story is original, funny and sweet. Both Mac and Freya feel realistic and have great chemistry. I loved the alternating narratives from both of them that carries through from Amy’s other books. There were times I wanted to pound both of them in the head for being so daft and that to me is a sign of good writing when you can be so emotionally invested. Amy even left a bread crumb trail indicating there’s more of a story between Mac’s sister & Santiago…fingers crossed, we haven’t heard the last from this Harris football universe.
