Fantastic ending to the Evelyn Talbot series! Loved it, couldn’t put it down from page one!
4.5 Stars
This fabulously suspenseful book is fourth in the Evelyn Talbot series and it features Evelyn and Amarok . Someone is at it again and this time it doesn’t look good for Evelyn or the baby she’s carrying. In this book we see more of Amarok and everything he’s going through trying to find Evelyn with no evidence of who took her or where she is. Help comes from the least expected place. Amarok loves her more than life itself. He’s such an amazing guy and it kills me to see him fall apart. My heart breaks for him over and over again.
This is another fantastic story line in this series with some pretty awesome characters. I do wish the epilogue had been a bigger part of the book instead of five pages at the end. The subject of the epilogue deserved more recognition for all they’ve been through.
The conclusion of the Evelyn Talbot series left me breathless, anticipating the worst but hoping for the best. In this final book, Evelyn has been kidnapped and Amarok is determined to move Heaven and earth to find her and his unborn child. The mastermind that has her is equally determined to keep her as his own and goes to great lengths to cover his tracks and to force her to do his bidding. The action is fast-paced and non-stop, so this book delivered everything I would want in a romantic suspense novel. At times, with all of the actions of the perpetrator, the book seemed more like a thriller, a book that was almost impossible to put down. I really wanted to read this book slowly, knowing that it was my last book in the series that is my favorite. But my mind would not let me put it down until I had read the last page and discovered what happened to Evelyn and to Amarok after her capture. What a thrilling book! Breathless! Absolutely breathless! Fans of Novak will definitely want to read this book and new fans will want to read the entire series, beginning with HANOVER HOUSE. Loved it and recommend it to all of my friends, family and others who like a good book that is tautly written, with characters that you either love or hate.

Blind Spot by Benda Novak was a really great read. I really enjoyed this book and I really enjoyed how this book sort of came full circle with one of the killers that was after Evelyn came back for her again and Jasper who has been trying to kill her for all these years in his own way helped figure out who had her. The book was just a great read with so much going on and so much action it is very hard to put down. Brenda Novak did a great job with the fourth book in the Evelyn Talbot series.
Blind Spot gets five out of five stars.
Thrilling, chilling, and suspenseful!
Once again Brenda Novak takes us into the mind of a serial killer determined to have the woman he thinks he loves. Dr. Evelyn Talbot is the kind of psychiatrist you want to be friends with but if she is your doctor you are a serial killer and she wants to know why. When she goes missing her husband to be, the hunky Alaskan state trooper, Sgt. Murphy aka Amarok will leave no stone unturned to find the love of his life. This book kept me on the edge the entire time I was reading it. Bravo! Brenda Novak you are the queen of suspenseful romance!
Blind Spot is Book 4 in the Dr. Evelyn Talbot series by Brenda Novak. While I wouldn’t say reading these books in order is required, it will certainly help the reader become more involved knowing Evelyn’s history with Jasper and Lyman from earlier stories.
Wowza! Talk about an intense, edge of your seat, nail-biting, thrill ride. I can honestly say Ms. Novak is the only author who can actually make me want to feel sorry (well almost! anyway) for a serial killer. This fast-paced novel drew me in from page one and kept me on pins and needles for the entire ride. Highly recommend.
Wow, what a ride. The last few chapters had my heart beating wildly in my chest. So much to say about this book but I’m afraid to give away anything. I will say that without the love, determination and passion of Amarok things woulkd have turned out very differently. Evelyn shows us yet again just how strong and determined she is. So many things happen, be prepared.
Since this is the end of this series, I was hoping for more. It wasn’t disappointing, it was just not what I expected. That’s the sign of a good author though, right?
Evelyn is kidnapped (again), but this time she’s pregnant. Amarok has no idea where she is and what happened. His need to find and save Evelyn and their baby is paramount. He has no clues. Time is running out.
I enjoyed this book, but as I said, I kind of expected more. There was suspense, and the plot was briskly paced, but there wasn’t much interaction between Amarok and Evelyn and that’s been done so well in the previous books. I missed that. No spoilers, but you’ll be surprised who the kidnapper is!
A worthwhile read and it can be read as a standalone but reading the other three books in the series gives more background and they’re all good reads.
Oh, I have never read a Brenda Novak book that I didnt love. And this one is no exception. My only regret is that I finished it and I want more. I love the Dr Evelyn Talbot series and salivate until the next one is out.
The continuous story of Evelyn and the serial killer, Jaspar Moore, finds him finally in prison, in Hanover House where Evelyn is head psychiatrist. But when she goes missing and Jaspar is still behind bars, her plans to marry Amorak who is also the police is put on hold. Now Amorak’s only job is to find Evelyn before this other psychopath kills or maims her.
The story kept my on edge, turning page after page – one of the things I love about Novak’s books. If you havent read any of them you are missing out on an awesome read. Want to know more about her? Check out her website at https://brendanovak.com
When Evelyn is kidnapped, Amorak races against the clock to find her….Will he be in time?
Wow…just wow! What and intense and fast-paced thrill ride. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, flipping pages as fast a possible. Well done, Ms. Novak!!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or remuneration.
Blind Spot is a fast-paced and very suspenseful addition to The Evelyn Talbot Chronicles. It picks up directly where the previous book left off, and the race against the clock starts. Evelyn is kidnapped and Amarok doesn’t know where to start with his search. This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The author did an incredible job in making the reader feel the urgency of the situation. The multiple POVs was great and told the story from different perspectives, including the villains, and it added an extra layer to the story. I always love to get a insight into the minds of these psychopaths. It was interesting that Jasper added important insights in regards to the kidnapping case. I was intrigued by why he was inserting himself in the situation, so I was glad that his POV was included in this book as well.
Evelyn has grown so much in this series, and you can really see the growth in this book. She has come a long way, and she is a very strong woman that will fight ’til the end. She doesn’t give up and will do anything to save her unborn child and herself. There were a couple of incidents that could’ve moved the case along faster, but it felt like not everyone was working very well together. In my opinion it sometimes took them too long to figure things out, which annoyed me a bit. I also missed seeing Evelyn and Amarok together. I really love their dynamic so I felt disappointed when I didn’t get the opportunity to see a lot of them together. Hopefully, we will get more of that in the next book. Blind Spot was overall a great addition to this series, and I am still very invested in the characters, including the bad guys. This book added some extra insight into the interaction between prisoners at the Hanover House.
If you’ve read the first three books, don’t feel obligated to read BLIND SPOT. There’s nothing really new unless an incident in the prison and new developments with Brianne – Evelyn’s sister – lead to further instalments, otherwise the incident at the prison was a waste of time. I had adored the first two books: they were realistic, exciting, informative, and filled with emotions and tension; total page-turners. While the third book was very good, I didn’t feel it was as thrilling and, personally, I think the series should have ended there. Still, I was excited when BLIND SPOT was announced until I read the book description. I wasn’t enthused about Evelyn being kidnapped again by a psychopath. I would have expected, as the series progressed, to have her treat, investigate, interact with psychopaths, not be a victim. So I decided not to read the book upon its release, but curiosity got the best of me. I should have resisted.
If the first two books were realistic, the same cannot be said for BLIND SPOT. A heavy dose of suspension of disbelief is required, and the villain, while entertaining at first, was not credible; his actions were just not believable. Evelyn did something pretty stupid, which was to justify another subplot, and I felt it should have been handled otherwise.
While it is very well-written, I found BLIND SPOT terribly frustrating. I was sick and tired of being in the characters’ heads; I usually don’t mind or notice internal monologues that much unless they become excessive, which was the case here. The story started well enough but it soon began to drag and drag. Amarok, whom I had always adored, started to get on my nerves; I felt he acted out of character. Instead of the story going forward, it seemed we were going around in circles, taking forever to get anywhere. I was biting my cuticles while racing through Her Darkest Nightmare and Hello Again, but actually yawning in the second half of BLIND SPOT. There were also some minor editorial issues (inconsistencies, lack of attention to detail). I thought the ending was a little rushed and disappointing to some extent, which makes me think that the Dr. Evelyn Talbot series is not really over. If it is, instead of ending with a bang, it sputtered to the finish line. Too bad.
