Claymore Security is a contracting company who employs ex military men to fight terrorists in Afghanistan and around the world.
Jenna’s brother Rob and his best friend Mick are heading out to meet up with their teammates (as Rob puts a large letter package in the mail first), to train local police in technical shooting techniques. Rob is getting out in two weeks and not coming back, he can’t leave his sister home worrying about him any longer their parents and a brother died in a traffic accident they only have each other and Mick, Robs best friend. And then Rob is killed when an IED blew up on the side of the road by their convoy, shooting erupted Rob was shot. Mick got to Rob…Rob knew he wasn’t going to make it and made Mick promise to take care of Jenna and to “not tell her”. That’s the VERY basic beginning to the book, I loved this story, could not put it down…Suspenseful Romantic Mystery Thriller…..
What Really happened? Why did Rob send that large package home?
I was given this in a free book giveaway and I voluntarily leave this review.
Just finished it last night and really wasn’t sure it would work out for the grieving couple until the last pages. He had secrets and shame, and she had suspicions about her brother’s death. This was a gripping read.
05/11/2021 If you like action-packed, intense stories, you will love “Blind Fury” (nook). It is well-written and kept me engrossed until the end.
Finally a true suspense story with action and of course a little romance. Good story enjoyed reading.
I enjoyed this book!
Jenna is on her way to an interview when she gets the call her brother has been killed in Afghanistan. He was the last member of her family and she wants answers. Mick is a former special forces operator and was best friends with Jenna’s brother. He promised he wouldn’t tell her what happened and he would look out for her. Someone wants them quieted permanently and will stop at nothing. In between protecting Jenna and trying to keep his hands to himself, he’s believes he’s not the right guy for her. Jenna has had a crush on Mick since her brother brought him home but he was never with one woman more than once. Will that change when they are on the run for their lives?
Action, suspense, secrets, and sex. Jenna is the shy, introvert type and Mick is an adrenaline junkie and playboy.
This is the first book in this series but each can definitely be read as standalones even though you will be introduced to characters that will have more storylines in future books. I actually read Books 2, 3, 4 & 5 before having the privilege to finally read Book 1. Jenna Ryan has always been on Mick Fury’s radar but because her brother Ryan has always made it clear that his little sister was too good for him, he has respected those boundaries. Things change drastically when Ryan is killed on his last assignment with Claymore Security and then it appears that Jenna and Mick are now are somebody’s radar. As they run for their lives, it becomes clear that Ryan’s death was not an accident but can they find the truth before they are eliminated? I found this very riveting and suspenseful until the conclusion of the book. Great read, great series and GREAT author.
Plenty of betrayal and mystery in this debut romantic suspense. Mick Fury met best friend Rob in basic training. They went on to become Air Force Parajumpers before switching to private security contractors with Claymore. When on their latest assignment in Afghanistan Rob is killed during an ambush and makes Mick promise he will protect his sister Jenna who has already had so much tragedy in her life.
When Mick gets back to the states he does what he can for a grieving Jenna while also keeping his distance which was another promise he made to Rob as he’s typically known as a playboy who lives for adrenaline rushes. But when they notice they are being followed and Jenna’s home is destroyed they figure out Rob must have stumbled onto something while in Afghanistan.
Mick has his hands full not only trying to protect Jenna but also trying to keep her from digging deeper into what happened to Rob while not alerting the bad guys who may be far closer than they think.
This was equal parts suspense and romance. Mick and Jenna both have misconceptions – Mick’s are about himself and Jenna’s are about Mick. As the two are trying to figure out the who and what about who’s after them they also have to deal with the feelings that have always been there between them.

Loved this and Gwen’s other books in this series!
A couple of twists make this a great read.
Awesome series. Looking forward to the next one.
Bit kept my attention with hints at their backgrounds, emotional conflict, strong attraction and commitment. Trust and courage.
It’s nice to read something above college aged kids. The story line is sad yet it is great how the main characters evolve into strong individuals who end up together. Very good reading.
