Hi, I’m Jordyn. I flew from New York to Culver City, CA to interview for the job of a lifetime. When I walked into The Bookstore, I only wanted a steamy romance or two to help pass the time before my big meeting.I walked out with a gorgeous and sweet, cinnamon roll who was more funny and charming than all of my favorite book boyfriends combined, which definitely wasn’t the plan. But Mike was … plan.
But Mike was irresistible, and the time we spent together exploring Culver City was more fun than I’ve had in a long time.
But I’m smart enough to know if something feels to good too be true, it probably is.
I mean, Happily Ever Afters are just for fairy tales and romance novels … right?

Let me say that this is my first time reading anything by Lucy Eden and this novella didn’t disappoint. I don’t think I’ve ever really had a true appreciation for the term ‘meet cute’ until I read Blind Date with a Book Boyfriend. This is the story of Jordyn and Mike who meet in a romance bookstore while Jordyn is in LA for a super important job interview. Mike turns on the charm as he offers to show her around the area. They end up spending the day and part of the night together, but their time is cut short by an unexpected and unfortunate misunderstanding. While this book is a novella, it doesn’t default to instalove like too many other novellas and short stories. The characters have to work to achieve their HEA. This book is cute and quirky with well written and witty dialogue to flesh out the story. Yes, I said it’s cute, but that doesn’t mean sweet and it’s definitely not PG rated. The story has a good bit of satisfying steaminess that reveals the scorching chemistry between the characters. I’m always skeptical of short stories for fear of reading a rushed not well thought out story, but this novella delivered in the very best ways. This will not be my last Lucy Eden read.
I loved reading Jordyn and Mike’s story. I was intrigued from the get-go, especially when they met in an Indie Bookstore, both perusing romance books. I mean, who can pass up a guy who actually reads romance books??? It was great how Lucy Eden pulled in actual titles and authors into the story. My one tip would be– DO NOT read the epilogue until you read # 2 – 35 Years. Once you’ve read that, go back and read the epilogue at the end of #1. Love! Love! Love!
This book felt like a giant hug!
Jordyn and Mike meet at a romance exclusive bookstore and immediately feel the sparks. They spend the whole day together and then realize there could be a huge obstacle to their romance novel meet cute.
Between the the bookstore, the titles and tropes bantered back and forth, and the delightful love at first sight storyline this book felt like a giant hug for every romance reader, regardless if you’re a lifer or new to the genre.
The print version also features a second epilogue novella, Vegas Baby, that is perfection!
A beautiful and short story about new beginnings, new jobs ,a new romance .For Jordyn a new job opportunity is there for the taking she unexpectedly meets Mike while browsing the book store until her interview and the two hit it off .The chemistry between these two were beautiful.

One Note
This was a quick read. It had a great premise and some fun banter. The characters felt more like caricatures. Even for an inst-love trope, the story felt a bit forced. I appreciated a few romantic moments and the steamy sex, however this story didn’t really get me in the feels
This couple finds an adorable Insta love in a romance book store. Their attraction is as big a part of this story as the love story told about Culver City, the home of this real romance book store. I enjoyed much of this story and their compatibility. I had some small problems with the problem resolution but it wasn’t enough to put me off the rest of the story.

I needed something to clear the cobwebs in my brain and this did it for me big time. Just lovely. A nice fast pace as fitting a work this length; a fairy tale style ending. Beautiful.
Jordyn & Mike were absolutely adorable and I immediately fell for both of them. Their meet-cute was sweet and fun and had me smiling big the entire time.
Within the first two chapters I had had already giggled numerous times and even teared up with emotion at the end of chapter two.
The teasing and flirting was delightfully charming and made the characters even more lovable. Mike was ever the gentleman, but he sure wanted to NOT be a gentleman sometimes. Their chemistry was sizzling.
This lovely RomCom was just what I needed. It has the perfect amount of witty banter and humor, steam, and heart. This is definitely a feel-good story, because it left me feeling very happy when I finished.
Looking for a quick read to give you some laughs and make your heart happy? I highly recommend this one!
This book is a quick romantic read and I really enjoyed reading it. I do love reading these short romance books.
I loved the characters and I thought they were adorable.
Jordyn went to have a job interview in New York city. She wanted to try and break away from her very over protective parents. She had an interview set up for her dream job, that was until fate stepped in and changed her life.
Mike is a lovely, hot and sexy guy and is very charming with his words, he’s also the CEO of the company, Grayson Technologies
but he is also very laid back which is lovely.
I loved each of these characters and I loved that they met in the book store and there conversations were funny. They had a lot of chemistry between them both and when Jordyn actually found out about Mike he was still just thinking about her. He put her first. Things did move very quickly for them because the love they feel is real.
This book had love and banter and I found myself smiling quite a lot throughout because they both kind of bounced of of each other. I always love books with epilogue to and seeing where everyone is now.
Thank you to the author and publishers for allowing me to read a copy of this book.

What a great introduction to Lucy Eden! I was actually sitting in my car waiting to pick up some food, strolled across my Amazon recommends on my tablet and saw this book. The cover was interesting, so I read the blurb and thought this would be a quick read while I waited.
I enjoyed this story/novella. Jordyn and Mike meet in a bookstore in the romance aisle no less! A man who likes to read romance! Point 1 scored. He is good looking and funny. Score points 2 & 3.
Since this is Jordyn’s first time in California, Mike elects to show her around. They have a blast, spending the entire day together. It feels like love at first sight, but is it too perfect?
The chemistry between these two characters is written so well, you want to the best for them at all times.
I am now going to look for more of Lucy Eden’s work.
Absolutely fantastic! A passionate, entertaining, fast pace, well though-out, witty, funny, and romantic read. Three years together but we just met Is how Mike feels after he’s interacted with Jordan for at least a good four hours. These two characters are funny. the conversation that her held between Mike and Jordan are so realistic you could just picture standing there in the aisle of the bookstore listening to their conversation. There are funny situations in the story. There are a couple serious ones. But these two are definitely brand new to each other but are so familiar The are like destined soulmates. Nice storyline. It definitely does not brag about specific things. Enjoyed it as I have one of her other books. No cliffhanger.

Jordyn has flown out to California to interview for her dream job. She happens to visit a bookstore where she meets Mike. He might come across as a bit strange and weird because he also happens to like romance novels. Well, the fun begins from there. Mike isn’t what he seems like when we first meet him. Jordyn probably knows she needs to get away from him, but she can’t seem to help herself. It’s a cute story! Easy to read, NO HEA, and no cliffhanger! What are you waiting for? Read the book!

Love this boyfriend book! This is my first time I read a book from Lucy Eden and the cover of her book was what intrigued me. This is about Mike and Jordyn. This book is about a man and woman who meet for the first time in a bookstore by the romance book section. She of course is picking out one book and interrupts her by telling her something about the book. She thinks he is fine looking, but into romance novel – couldn’t be. Well he convinces her to go to lunch after buying the books she selected as she just arrived to LA. She accepts and they end up have an extraordinary day until she mentions that she is there for a job interview. At the end of the day or should I say morning, he confesses that he is the CEO of said company. It has a beautiful ending and I loved this book so much. How they loved each other and took a chance at each other was so refreshing and rewarding.

This was a cute and quick read that had me smiling at Mike’s antics. It was predictable but still worth the journey. The story flowed and the pacing was good for a novella, which is always hard to do. I did wish the ending wasn’t as cliched, but hey, it wasn’t my story to tell. I was honestly hoping they followed in his parent’s footsteps. I enjoyed the characters and Mike really was the definition of a great book boyfriend.
There is some adult language that didn’t really fit with the characters in spots. There were adult scenes, but they were not overly detailed (not completely glossed over though).

I really love a fun, humorous book, and this one is well-written with very likable characters and awesome dialog. Jordyn is in LA for an important interview and stops into a bookstore to find a couple of good romance books to occupy any wait time during the day. She meets Mike, a cute single guy who actually reads and enjoys romances! He invites her to lunch and some other activities to show her around, and it is very obvious there is chemistry there.
Will a misunderstanding spoil what they are discovering together? Or will they realize what they saw in each other was real and work to find that HEA? Grab your copy and enjoy this terrific book!
I’ve read several books written by Lucy Eden; she has done a great job at writing a good book; she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of books her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

It a cute and easy story. I am not a big fan of short story in general but for this one it work because more of it will be to sickly sweet.
