Blind Date for Valentine’s is book one in the Love at Blind Date series by Lorelei M. Hart and Colbie Dunbar. This is a stand alone, fairly short M/M omegaverse romance.
Dean Brooks has worked his way up the corporate ladder. He is an alpha, lives alone with his cat, and basically does nothing but work. When his assistant sets him up on a blind date for Valentine’s Day, Dean does not want to go. But his date is supposed to be a doctor. Maybe he should just give it a chance. It will at least be a nice meal in a fancy restaurant.
Jesse Henderson is an omega. He is a math teacher and loves his job. His roommate was supposed to go on a blind date but got called in to work so insists that Jesse go in his place. All Jesse really wants to do is curl up with some take out and relax. But the person he is supposed to meet would be horrified to be stood up on Valentine’s Day. So he goes. Little did both Jesse and Dean know that this night would be full of wonderful surprises.
Dean and Jesse had known each other back in high school and both had huge crushes on the other. But neither ever let on how they felt and they went their separate ways. Now all these years later, they had a second chance and neither of them wanted to walk away this time. Maybe this Valentine’s Day would be a good one after all.
Both Dean and Jesse stumble a few times as they try to find their way. But through it all, their bond strengthens as they move forward together.
So it’s here that I have to admit that this was my first omegaverse book. While I love M/M romance, I’m thinking that this part of it might not be for me. For some reason, although I enjoyed both of these characters, I never really felt their connection. They were sweet but there were no butterflies. It’s a quick read and the writing was good. It just didn’t appeal to me at all. By the looks of some of the other reviews, others have loved it so perhaps it’s just me here.
Blind Date for Valentine’s is the first book in the Love at Blind Date series by Lorelei M. Hart and Colbie Dunbar. This is a second chance for high school crushes who end up on a blind date by chance. It is sweet, sexy and a perfect read for this month of love. Dean and Jesse are great characters and I adore them together… they are funny and fun to get to know. Plus, we get an mpreg! Definitely recommend.
That was sweet and heart warming. I liked the way fate made them reconnect and the way they surpassed their struggles. The cat was a bit of a troublemaker with the way it misplaced the note that gave way to their insecurities. The scene of their rebounding was to die for and their marriage super sweet.
I really love it and can’t wait for the next one.
