Blessed Betrayal is a story of the sweetest kind of revenge. It will keep you turning the pages until the very end, rooting for Cali and Nick to find their happily ever after. It is a standalone story and does not end on a cliffhanger.

What I love most about Livia Grant’s stories are that you get a hefty dose of sweet and charming mixed in with a bunch of naughtiness and “Blessed Betrayal” does not disappoint in that regard. Add in some serious tragedy and a whole lot of love and you will root for this happily ever after. *spoiler alert* if you do read it, when you first meet Kevin, you will either want to throat punch him or take a fork to his manly bits so stay away from sharp objects so you don’t damage your Kindle.
I knew from the first moment I opened Blessed Betrayal that Livia was going to give me all the feels and SHE DID. This story has so many layers, so many horrible betrayals that happen every day, but the way she wove this story together to bring these two broken people closer and closer made me stay up way too late to finish because I **needed** their happy ending! Of course, that was a whole new mess of feels, but I loved every minute of it!
A wonderful written novella by Livia Grant..
It is a story about second chances and that all things happen for a reason. The lives of Cali and Nicholas are struck by tragedy and they are struggling to get back on their feet again.
The story is full of twists and turns and surprises which I did not see it coming.
I loved every word of this novella
This is a very different story, where the emphasis is much more on fate, karma and serendipity than on the couple themselves. The plot has so many twists, turns and surprises that I was really gripped. There was enough ‘plot’ in this to have made it into a full length novel, rather than the novella that this is. In fact it felt as though some of the emotional depth had been sacrificed in order to fit the story in.
Both Nick and Cali were very well written, likeable and believable characters. With this being a novella I didn’t get to feel quite the same connection to them but, nevertheless, I still enjoyed the book. The prose is easy to read, the writing style flows smoothly and is engaging. The pace was good and as I’ve already said, there is a LOT that happens in this book.
It felt very different to the other books I’ve read by this author, I guess I’m used to her ‘spicier’ reads, though this has plenty of steam and is most certainly not ‘sweet’. It’s a fun read and perfect for when you want a well written, and unusual story, without too much heaviness.
I was not sure if I was going to like this story or not. The more I read the more I could not put it down for I wanted to know how Carlista and Nick turned out. I felt several emotions while reading this wonderful second chance story. I was angry, sad, and happy all through the story. I loved that Nick so loved his daughter Andrea that she was his world. When I came to the end there was no doubt that I was glad that I had taken time out of my evenings to include this book in my reading life. There is no doubt that these two definately deserved their HEA. I would recommend it to anyone of my reading friends
This book totally blew my mind! Livia Grant really knows how to take you on an emotional journey that’s for sure. The story that she tells grabs you right away and doesn’t let go. I don’t want to spoil this for anyone but I will say that this is a MUST READ book, you won’t be disappointed. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.
An inspirational story about a woman named Calista who goes through a very tragic and traumatic event that puts her in the hands of fate. She meets Nick by coincidence and their lives become entwined through yet another tragic event.
Surprises around every corner, this story left me reeling! What comes to light is nothing short of shocking and something I never would have guessed. A great story and even greater characters. It was easy to fall in love with this one.
Blessed Betrayal by Livia Grant
One of my favorite Livia Grant stories .. right up there with Infamous Love and Complicated Love. A beautiful story of pain and heartache, healing, love, miracles, and most of all .. blessings. A lovely, heartwarming Sunday afternoon book.
This is a heart warming story by one of my most favourite writers and of course I enjoyed it just I have enjoyed all of of the others by Livia Grant. This story is about how two people get together after their cheating spouses die in a accident together. There is a wonderful HEA at the end that I am sure you will love.
For such a quick read, this one packs a powerful punch. It’s emotionally intense from beginning to end, and what a beautiful ending it is. My heart broke for Cali throughout most of the story, and her fear and despair were believable. Some people may have an issue with the fact that both characters are married, but I loved that they were able to find their HEA.
This book has caught me off guard, it just blew my mind. This book covered so much ground that I had to make sure I was reading the correct book. I love this style of writing, it was like I was reading 2 stories at once and would love to see this kind of writing from Livia again. I love the message behind Calista and Nicholas’s love story. I must say I love this story it so realistic. I have to admit that the twist and turns in this book would have you on edge and guessing what’s to come. I got to say that the confession is the real kicker in this story that really brings everything full circle. Above all I would have liked for Calista to tell Kevin’s family off.
If anyone deserves a happily ever after its Cali and Nick. This book gave me lots of different feelings sad, happy, laughing, raging mad! Lots of beautiful words and sweet but sexy at the same time. I really enjoyed reading this book.
This was enjoyable and emotional read. It was short but deals with several betreyals and is packed with raw, intense emotions. I loved Cali and Nick together and was so happy they got their sweet hea. Although the ending had an unexpected twist that seemed a bit far-fetched, I really enjoyed it and didn’t mind it. It wrapped up story perfectly for Nick and Cali.
This was a strange departure for me from what I usually get from Livia Grant. It was a really sweet romance that comes out of two dark and depraved people be trying our MCs. It was a little too much fate makes all things work out right for me but it was still a great book and of course excellently written as you would expect from her.
Will Nick and Cali rise above what life has constantly thrown at them
Livia weaves a tale that you will never see coming, yet believe in fate by the time you turn the last page! Cali and Nick are each unhappy in their marriage when they meet at a company party where their spouses seem to get along famously. When Cali and Nick’s spouses die in an accident, Cali discovers the extent of their deceit. Nick struggles with caring for his daughter brings Cali in to his life. When Nick’s daughter is in an accident, his world quickly spirals out of control, causing Cali’s world in an uproar with him. Will Cali and Nick rise above the turmoil to find their happily ever after? You have to read to find out and will be losing sleep over this book. Excellent story Livia!
This book deals with betrayal on almost every level – parental, spousal, even medical. And the sheer cruelty of some of it is heartbreaking. The scene in the morgue, for example, is hard to read and must have been equally hard to write. And that’s another Livia Grant strength; she makes you experience what the characters are experiencing. As anyone that knows my reviews knows, I’ll take well-written characters over almost anything else, and these are outstanding. Cali’s grace and strength and Nick’s adoration of his daughter and care for Cali pull even the slightly improvable ending together and make you want it to be true. This is an adult book; there is sex; there is a great deal of heat in general – another way you know it’s Livia Grant’s. So – enjoy it, enjoy (as I did) the thought of Kevin and Roni roasting (a girl can dream), and keep water on hand!
Truly a wonderful fantastic story. The troubles Cali and Nick went through is remarkable that they even came together. You will laugh and cry nut in the end it is all worth it. Enjoy
This was a brilliantly woven tale of lies and betrayal but also of love and hope.
Wonderful characters and an intense storyline.
Loved it!
For a short story, this was packed with actual in-depth content. I wasn’t expecting that. I really enjoyed the story even when at times it felt a little far-fetched. I enjoyed the characters but was expecting more of a DM role in the book considering who this author was. Calista and Nick were both likable characters but it felt like it came together too “perfectly” and that frustrated me.
Still, I enjoyed this book and adore the author.
God moves in mysterious ways is the subtext for this story, an unusual one from Livia Grant, and if you can suspend your disbelief then the story comes full circle. Hell has a very special place for those who abuse and betray their loved ones and none more so than the cheating abusive spouses in this novella and yet without that abuse and betrayal Nick and Cali would not have found each other. Goodness shines through both of them and although they are not innocents they do find supreme happiness.
