Blake and Storm are endearing characters. Though secrets keep them apart, love will bring them together. This is a sweet story and I would recommend it.

The latest entry in the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers series is another hit!
I found this book to be a very enjoyable read with the well written storyline and characters that were so well developed that I read this book in one sitting!
The fourth book in the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers series and this series just gets better with each new book, I want to read the next book. This is Storm and Blake’s story and they both carry secrets, there is suspense, drama, danger, arson, an evil man, murder, and romance. A story I enjoyed reading and that I would recommend.
A really emotional romance.
I am absolutely loving this series!
Blake has never really felt as if anyone really wanted him, to any degree, until recently with his quasi adopted brothers. He was abandoned as a small child and no one ever even fostered him so the wounds run deep. Storm has been running from her past for a while now and has almost as many scars as Blake. She wants to keep running but she promised to try and help Blake learn to read and she can’t back down from that promise. But as they get to know each other and trust each other, they start falling in love and that scares both of them. However, now that Blake knows what it feels like to be loved and accepted, he’s not letting her go without a fight.
This is the fourth book in the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers series and should be read in the order it was written as they weave back and forth throughout the series and build on to it. And fair warning… this one will make you reach for a tissue, a couple of times.

Storm escaped from a bad situation by running and taking over the traveling library. Blake helps her fix up her wagon and in return she teaches him different techniques to learn letters and words and in the process he falls for her. But her past carries a dark cloud on her future and villainous Hawkes is still around murdering and causing trouble. There was plenty of suspense in this historical romance. I loved the visual and sensory ideas Storm came up to help Blake learn and how creative he was making left handed scissors and a sewing machine to help her with her new tailoring business.
Good story but there is a cliffhanger!
I am really enjoying this series in this installment Blake meets Storm he helps her and in turn she helps him the only problem is the secret that Storm is hiding. This is not a sweet romance there is action, danger coming from all sides. It is a quick read and very good. How an author can put so much in such a few words always amazes me but Kathleen Lawless is a master at it. I highly recommend this book. Strong but Gentle Hero and Tough Heroine
I have read every book in The Seven Brides for Seven Brothers series. I particularly enjoyed the first and second ones while I wasn’t as wild about the third book. So I didn’t quite know what to expect from this one. I’m happy to say, though, that I found this one to be a delight. I loved both the hero and the heroine. They are both kind and compassionate souls who have had hard lives. They both have secrets, some more serious than others. Blake will claim your heart, as well as the heroine’s, with his gentle and protective nature, his willing self-sacrifice, and his deep wound for feeling stupid because he can’t read and write. He has what we would call today dyslexia, which certainly was not an understood thing back in the 1800s. The heroine is running from her past, but we don’t know what precisely it is for quite a while. There were some little moments that I just loved, like when Blake made her special left-handed scissors after seeing her struggle with regular ones. The book is full of such little touching vignettes.
Of course, Hawkes is still at it, stirring up trouble where he can. We get to see the other Mason Brothers, the unmarried ones as well as the married ones with their wives. That’s something that I enjoy about a series like this; a couple that you enjoyed seeing get together in a previous book you can meet again and enjoy a glimpse into their lives later on. As you can tell, I thoroughly enjoyed this installment of the series. If you are new to the series, you definitely should start with the first book, though technically I believe all could be considered standalones. You will just understand the context of the greater story if you start at the beginning.
I don’t think the people of Bullet are ever gonna get rid of Hawkes. He’s still snooping around the Copper Moon Ranch, and managing to cause all manner of trouble for the Mason family with few repercussions, since he has the sheriff in his pocket. Blake is one of the hard-working Mason brothers, who is a whiz at designing and making things, even as he can’t read. Storm owns the mobile library, moving from town to town, lending books to residents. He helps to update her library wagon, and she’s teaching him to read. When he asks her to marry him, she has to confess her secret. This is book 4 in the series; it’s a standalone, but it helps to understand if you read the other books first. I don’t usually read old western romances, but I’m so glad that I happened to pick up the first book, and have continued reading the books as they’re released. The stories are well written, with interesting characters, mystery and suspense, action, and romance.
