I have a few favorite Authors. They write consistent good books that I can’t stop reading. This is one of those Authors that never disappoints! I love that this series is faith based. How the characters speak with their hearts and let others learn from the things they say and do. Prohibition was a tough time in our countries past and this book was set in that time frame. The law back then was tasked with not only upholding the law, but finding the source and taking it down. Blake does this and so much more. Serving and protecting. Darcy is a kept woman by the man Blake is searching out, but she isn’t happy. She will realize that happiness comes from within, but it is going to take her a while. Will Blake be patient until she realizes what she needs to do? This is one of the books that brings reality right into your head and keeps it there while you read. You are living the book right along with Blake and Darcy.
I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
Was like going to a family reunion and getting together with people you love but haven’t seen for a while. Danni Roan as always gave us story line with some romance, humor, inspiration, conflict and wonderful characters. This story will leave you with a warm glow and hope that you can visit with the family again.
Thanks, Danni for another great read. The author sets this this clean, adventurous, historical romance, amidst the rough backdrop of the 1920s in Wyoming. Blake and Darcy are opposites and will travel a long, dangerous road before love stakes it claim on them. I enjoyed the ride.
Loved this look at the early 1920’s, when cars were just coming on the scene, prohibition was the law, and speakeasies and bootlegging were king. A cowboy wanting to bring law and order back, and keep the worst parts of humanity away, becomes a lawman. When he goes undercover, he meets a woman he can’t walk away from, though he know he must as long as she remains an unbeliever. When Darcy meets Blake, things change drastically for her, and she knows she wants more out of life than what she thought she wanted, and definitely better than how she’s being treated. A great story of righting wrongs and redemption, and finding love, when you learn to trust in God, and lean not on your own understanding.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
First, it was gold that brought the bad element; then, the silver; then, copper; now, it’s oil and gasoline and liquor. It’s Prohibition and the liquor flows freely, but it is behind closed doors and in hidden places. Crime is rampant. Blake is an undercover cop trying to bring down a band of outlaws whose boss is in the higher echelon of government. Darcy is a gangster’s moll. God’s word is spread all through this story if only Darcy will accept it. This is a story of deep, dark sin, repentance and redemption; but, over all, is love.
