Blades of Magic is a young adult fantasy. I usually avoid young adult reads, but I picked this one up for free from Amazon and deiced to give it a go.
I was soon drawn into a world full of unexpected things, a variety of different magics, and a young character who has a backbone, a sense of honor, and strength. The writing was easy and fluid …
I picked up Blades on a whim and it was such a surprisingly fun read. While some elements are typical for the YA Fantasy genre, the characters were fun and relatable. And it was definitely a page-turner. Read this in an afternoon.
Great back story and powerful motivation for the main character. Lots of progression, but still a lot goes unanswered, which makes me excited to read the next installment.

Wow, this book, this world, it was really cool. This is the first book in an ongoing series (at the time of writing this review). We are following Sara Fairchild in the Algardis Empire, she is a mage with battle magic (a unique type of magic …
Once you get into it you want to find out what happens next and you end up rooting for the characters.
First, I read it for free. I gave it 3 stars because it was really just the first half of a book. I get it, you want me to buy the rest but don’t just leave the story hanging. The characters are well developed but occasionally there could have been more explanation of Sarah’s reasoning.
Writing was elementary, suitable for early teens while the subject matter was at least young adult.
Awesome book.
Not my usual subject content for reading but it was interesting and a good story line.
I read everyone of the series then the final book has not been written. Chances are I will never read it now.
While the character development was a little generic…every book has one of those characters type overall the story line was a good read and eventually I will read the sequel.
Very good read hard to put down
I loved this book.
It’s a very fast paced book and easy to get through. I hope the sequel is just as good.
good read about a young girl, a battle mage. Good mystery about the father’s death. 1st in series
I enjoyed reading this book and will certainly continue with the series. I particularly liked the magical elements of he Mage fighters , no doubt more surprises to come as the story continues in the next book.
Had a lot of potential, but overall a very “meh” read. The premise was really exciting, but the plot didn’t really go anywhere, and the storytelling got really patchy in places. Personally, not worth the read.
I read a lot of science fiction & magic character books and found this book very satisfying.
the main character is compelling; I plan to read subsequent novels in the series
I like the story but it seems caught in the details and does not do enough to fill out the overall story. I’m not really sure where the story is heading. I can’t even say who the bad guy after reading the first three books. Even with the flaws, I think that there is enough payoff to recommend it.
