Oh Wow, what a way to kick start this series. Trevor is one crazy man yet I loved him right off the bat. I guess I have a thing for a crazy in the head alpha males. A non-the-less perfectly Hollyfield crazy man!
Numbers run his mind. He’s troubled past keeps him with numbers all day, yet he’s not at peace. Until he comes across Lucy. The young, attracted, funny girl next door that’s trying to find herself, which brings him peace. He doesn’t find himself thinking about numbers when he’s with her. They have a rough start when they meet, but very soon they start to fall hard for each other.
I devoured this book in one sitting. It’s a perfectly short story. Super hot and heavy, simply easy to get lost in. These two just couldn’t seem to keep themselves off each other. I truly enjoyed the story line and characters. I love getting lost into J D Hollyfields worlds. Always with just the right amount of perfect for a read!
I cant wait for the next books in this series!
I stumbled upon this series by accident, and I really like it.
Trevor is the first in this series of four single fathers who run a company together. Trevor Blackstone is the numbers guy–quite literally. He’s a hot AF math prodigy, with a few quirks. When he meets the granddaughter of the late owner of the house he’s trying to buy and demolish, he’s taken aback. For some reason, he can’t seem to shake the attraction between him and Lucy. Lucy’s intent was to grant her grandmother’s wish, and stay at her house for the summer before the sale to Trevor is final. Lucy’s up for a fling w/the guys she can’t stand. When the sale is done, she’ll head back home to the rest of herl ife.
Trevor and Lucy start off with pure animal attraction that they can’t quite figure out. Of course, feelings begin to seep into their seemingly perfect arrangement. Trevor isn’t quite who you think he is. Yes, he’s an ass, but there’s a good reason for it. And Lucy seems to be the perfect match for him. I enjoyed this story, and getting a glimpse of the guys in the following books in this series. I believe this was my first book by J.D. Hollyfield, and I’ll definitely be looking up her offerings.
I loved the idea of four books, about four men, by four authors in four different genres.
Jessica got the party started with Trevor Blackstone. He is an angry, quirky, damaged genius that I LOVED from the start. Lucy is the broke girl next door that Insta-lused after Trevor.
The story line was perfect, the characters worked amazingly well together for being so different. I can’t wait to see glimpses of them in the future four books.
Blackstone by J.D Hollyfield, is the first book in the Four Fathers Series. Four different genres by four different authors.
Trevor Blackstone is a number genius, which comes in handy at Four Fathers Freight but outside of work it’s no fun. All day in his head is numbers, fractions, equations, number patterns, which only gets worse when he is stressed. There’s only one person who calms him, the sassy little minx from next door, Lucy.
Lucy has made a promise to her late Grandmother that she would take some time for herself, she does that by moving to Tampa for the Summer, into her Grandmother’s run down house before it’s sold off. There she meets Trevor, the hot weirdo from next door.
I liked how Trevor wasn’t the perfect male character, that he had quirks. I loved Lucy and her quirky sense of humor. The build up to their relationship is fast paced which is perfect for this short novella. So quick and easy to read, I devoured Blackstone in a few hours.
Blackstone (Four Fathers Book 1) by J.D. Hollyfield is an enemies to lovers, contemporary “romance” told in alternating points of view. This is tough… I guess I’ll start by stating what I liked because honestly there wasn’t much.
I liked the idea of a main character math prodigy with an OCD-like compulsion for numbers. I found that interesting. I also enjoyed the author’s overall writing style. That being said, there’s a reason I put the word romance in quotes. It was severely lacking from this story.
In the blink of an eye, shallow, unlikeable characters with a shallow (almost non-existent) connection go from hating each other to screwing each other and there’s not much else that happens. There are several sex scenes, and supposedly somewhere along the way, they fall in love. But when? and how? Honestly, I missed it.
I didn’t feel anything for these characters and when it comes to their love story, I just didn’t buy it.
What an excellent way to start this series! I enjoyed everything about this story. Once again, we have a quick and sexy age gap romance that isn’t really fluff. There’s a story here. Could it be explored more? Sure. Did it need to be? No. It had the right amount of timeline to make this treat believable and enjoyable. Well done!
This was my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. I thought that Blackstone was a unique character and I liked him a lot. I look forward to more in this series

Scorching! Unbelievably Sexy!
JD Hollyfield knows how to pump up the lust and heat within a story! Blackstone is a breath of fresh air and an epic way to begin a new series; a series that will include three other brilliant authors who come together rounding out the other three wealthy, alpha men of the Four Fathers Freight company.
Hollyfield’s words are beyond sexy and enthralling, yet compassionate in a way. Blackstone is a smooth, eager pace read where you won’t want to put the book down for a min. Both characters are equally enticing and keep each other and you on your toes. If book one alone is this highly magnetic, addictive, then I can’t wait to indulge in the rest!
Trevor Blackstone is one of the owners to Four Fathers Freight. He is a math prodigy and excels in all things of numbers. A setback on a property lands him with spirited, take no prisoners neighbor Lucy. A girl who is making waves for him and his business. Lucy gives Trevor a run for his money both physically and emotionally, which lands him questioning his workaholic tendencies, plus learns that Lucy has relaxing ability to his prodigy talent.
“I just want happiness for you.”
This book was a joy to read, not just for the fact of reading a new author, but diving deep in the electric intensity that Trevor and Lucy gave. Trevor’s powerful persona is undeniable, that when it came to the sexual chemistry… you might not want to read in public!

I really enjoyed what is sure to be a great series by some really great authors. J.D. Hollyfield did a good job with this book. The characters were interesting and kept me engrossed in the story. He is such a jerk in the beginning and well pretty much the entire book. He does open himself up but things happen and assumptions are made and drama ensues. I just wanted to smack the stupid out of him and her as well.
Lucy was someone who kept me entertained. The stuff that came out of her mouth and her sweet nature was really hard not to love. The saying opposites attract is so true with this book. Of course he has issues from childhood and the fact that his mind doesn’t work like the others so he does seem to show his jerk side more often than not especially to others. The sexy scenes between the two characters??? Lordy, lordy it is smoking hot!!
I can’t wait for the next in this series!!
five romantic hearts
Honestly can’t remember the last time I had this much fun
Sexy – Sweet – Romantic
Great characters – terrific story line
Yeah I wish it had been longer would love more of their story and I want to know about the envelope!

Angela –
That was one seriously hot novella. Being as I would consider Blackstone to be an erotic romance, I’m not sure my Kindle is going to survive Kingston, which is the next book in the Four Fathers series and it’s actually tagged as the erotic romance installment. I’m not suggesting that contemporary romances can’t be steamy – because I actually prefer mine with a good amount of steam – but Hollyfield does not hesitate to bring the heat, repeatedly, in Blackstone.
Perhaps it’s the fact that Trevor and Lucy’s first few interludes are angry sex (bordering on hate sex) that gives it a more erotic feel than I expected. Because of the first impression Trevor makes when he storms up to Lucy’s house, demanding that she sign the contract to complete the sale of her grandmother’s property early, the sparks that fly are not the good ones. And yet, neither can stop thinking about the other, so it’s not all that surprising when another of their heated arguments turns to naked time. Seriously hot naked time. The passion is strong between these two, but as they spend time together the passion and angry sex becomes more… at least, until one of Trevor’s business partners puts his nose where it doesn’t belong and destroys the calm that Trevor and Lucy have found with each other. Sadly, we learn just how petty and vindictive and unhinged Trevor can be after the fallout and it was both scary and heartbreaking. Fortunately for the reader, Hollyfield gives the couple the happy ending they’ve earned, as well as the pound of flesh (or should I say, pounding of flesh) Trevor and Lucy deserve.
I have to say that while Lucy is a great combination of feisty and appropriately emotional (due to grieving her grandmother’s death), Trevor is the truly fascinating character. The man’s intelligence is obvious, but because of how it plays out in his head and keeps him off-balance a bit, it makes him confident without being overly arrogant. He has his own insecurities that bleed through into his personal life and that’s what keeps him from being arrogant – and when they get bad enough, they can easily torpedo his confidence as well. Oddly, this is the second book I’ve read recently where love is shown to help a character with mental health issues without suggesting that love healed them. As a psych major (but not someone who practices psychiatry or counseling), I appreciate this distinction because as much as I love a happily ever after in my romance, I prefer the nod to realism that doesn’t send the unrealistic message to readers that love heals all ills. I’m already looking forward to getting my hands on Kingston and hope to check out Hollyfield’s work in the future as I really enjoyed her writing style.

5 flip flop stars!
I LOVED Trevor and Lucy’s story. This man is a math genius and happens to be one of the Four Fathers so of course he has more money then he knows what to do with so why not buy all the property you’d like?. Lucy is just following her grandmothers final wishes and taking some time to find herself over the summer. We’re given a light hearted story that will have you hooked from the very beginning until the last words. Hearing about Trevor’s past breaks my heart but he has such a beautiful soul and has found the light at the end of the tunnel early on and just keep moving forward. We get a taste of each of these men and what they’re about but hearing their individual stories is a must. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
What a great start to this series. I loved Trevor and Lucy and while it was a great read it went too quick. Trevor was a perfect broken alpha and I longed to know so much more about him. Lucy was a great love interest and their instant chemistry was so well written. I devoured every page and am so longing to know more about them and not to mention I would love to know more about Trevor’s ex and his son.
Great fun steamy read that will have you turning pages quickly

Hands down, I absolutely enjoyed Blackstone.
It was simply a fun, quick read that just so happened to be down and dirty smexy and had a good dose of heart thrown into the mix with a dash of drama to keep me on my toes.
I adored Trevor and Lucy. Trevor is…interesting. He’s determined, almost to the point of having tunnel vision in certain aspects of his life, Alpha AF smexy and yet he has this…not softer side per se, but lighter side that, when it comes out to play, is all kinds of golden. Lucy is a spitfire. She most definitely has moxie. This girl has sass and isn’t afraid to throw down when necessary, but she has a quirk or two and a beautiful heart.
Their romance is quick and dirty. Let’s not mince words here, and the dirty is all KINDS of intense and yet they find a way to connect beyond the physical. It was fun and sweet to watch as they realized that they were most definitely more to each other than they could have ever dreamed of. There was a bit of a wrench tossed into the mix, and that particular “wrench” pissed me off, but I loved how everything worked out in the end.
This was my first book by the author where she wasn’t a co-author and I loved it. I was hooked from the start and couldn’t put it down. It is quick and dirty, but the quick and dirty was done well, the angst isn’t OTT and the romance was sweet! As for the other Fathers, we get a glimpse of them all and I cannot wait to get my hands on them *BSEG*!

Blackstone worked well as a romance read for me. There was definitely chemistry between the two main characters and elicited strong emotions. I cried, I laughed and at times I wanted to yell in frustration. There was extremely good buildup for the secondary characters as well–I loved seeing the sneak peak for characters to come as well. I enjoyed seeing so much development of the two main leads and my heart went out to both characters who went through so much.
The reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 though is because it was pretty linear. There was nothing that hugely surprised me. However, it was a strong enough book that this reason only cost it one star. I’d recommend it to others and it also left me wanting more. I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s next!
Holyshits!
What a great start to a new series. I loved the connection and humor between Trev and Lucy. Their instant spark, his take control attitude, and her sassy mouth made me completely fall in love with their story and I was rooting for their HEA till the end.
I am totally invested in this series and can’t wait to meet the other Fathers!
Fast Pace, Furious Sex and Four Fathers. A winning combination that makes up Trevor Blackstone. He’s a genius, a math prodigy, a NUMBERS man.
My memory was sharp. Algorithms, calculating speed, fractions built into fractions. it all came naturally to me. they said I was rare. I thought I was a freak I didn’t want this Talent. It means my mind never stops I’m always counting steps, seconds between breaths, the distance between waves
And he along with Eric Pearson, Levi Kingston and Jax wheeler , have made a billion dollar empire of Logistics and real estate in Tampa, Florida-four Fathers.
Being abandoned by his mom on the beach, his mind remains a clutter if numbers and equations, making him an insomniacs hollow bird. The only respite, sounds of ocean waves and feel of sand in his toes. And then in moves Lucy, next door in a crumbling shack house, which Trevor so desperately wants to demolish and rebuild as a beach condo. Only thing is Lucy is this 27 year old funny, sweet, sexy, firecracker who just bulldozes her way in his abandoned heart. Breaking down barriers, giving him peace. And the sex is off the charts hot and fantastic!!!
And there’s a hilarious duo of Kiki & Darlene, trying to recruit Lucy.. very funny!!
Short story, I enjoyed reading thoroughly
