Featured on the Lifetime and Netflix TV show You A darkly compelling debut of an unusual bond between two killers—and the destruction left in their wake.A cold-blooded killer-for-hire, Edison North drifts across America from city to city, crime scene to crime scene, leaving behind a world in flames. But during a seemingly random stop at a fast food restaurant, Edison meets Christian, a young girl … restaurant, Edison meets Christian, a young girl who mirrors his own sense of isolation and stink of “other.” Though it’s been a long time since he felt anything resembling a human connection, something about this desperately lonely child calls to him like a fallen nestling. Edison feels certain she deserves better. And while he is not convinced that he can give her that, he can teach her to fly on her own. So he takes her.
Thus begin the chronicles of Edison North—and his protégé. Weaving together past and present, Edison begins Christian’s strange apprenticeship as Christian looks back upon her fractured upbringing and the training that made her into the killer she’s become. What emerges is a savage—and ultimately tender—exploration of the unlikely bond between two outsiders: a fledgling assassin and the man who took her under his wing.

Hope there is another book from this sithor
Loved this book
This book grabbed me due to the premise of an assassin training a child he kidnapped to follow in his footsteps. It was so bleak and hopeless, but could not put it down.
I didn’t really know who to root for in this story. Its an interesting read.
Confusing boring story. Glad when I finished it,
I did not finish this book.
Dark…… very dark.
definitely different. strange in some instances, interesting in most. an easy read…………
Good read
Loved It
This one was a little different. I had a hard time understanding or caring very much about the main characters. Some of their most critical actions were not supported by the narrative. I soldiered through to the end, but I never really got into the whole premise. *Spoiler Alert* — I didn’t have a problem with the girl not trying very hard to escape because I understand prisoner/hostage psychology. There were other decisions, however, by both main characters that just didn’t make sense and weren’t explained. Still, the premise was new and different, and the writing itself was professional. If you don’t try to psychoanalyze the main players, it’s a decent read.
I did not u derstand the ending to this book so it was somewhat disappointing
