I am loyal, but I will betray you.I am strong, but I have scars.I am an angel, but the devil.I met her when I was sixteen and she was a breath of fresh air. She swooped in, making me smile. But then she left, taking my next breath with her.Her smile could light up a room, making my black heart pitter patter.I found her again ten years later, with a syringe in her arm. Blood coming from between …
Blood coming from between her legs.
She was broken and I was glad she was broken. She wouldn’t think less of me and my damaged ways.

“I am loyal, but I will betray you. I am strong, but I have scars. I am an angel, but the devil.”
That opening line gripped from the first page! I am stunned by this incredible story. It is not for the faint of heart. It deals with the sensitive subject of abuse but from the moment I started listening I couldn’t stop until I finished. Such emotional writing. It pulled and tugged at my heart strings from beginning to end. There is a few twists and turns I never saw coming and the writing is emotional, gripping and suspenseful.
Black is intense and mysterious. Rose has a heavy dark past. The two together are broken but in the end have the ability to heal each other through love, understanding and devotion.
I did not expect that cliffhanger at the end. Looking forward to book 2.
Cat Gould and PJ Ochlan were incredible in their performances. Those accents. Total SWOON! and the emotion and power in their voices was just perfect.
This was an overwhelmingly dark, gritty, intense, and suspenseful story, There was A LOT going on in this book. I was kept on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. Black (Liam) and Rose have a beautiful intensity between them, But can they make anything work between them? there are so many outside forces interfering. This was an exciting but we are left wanting to know what comes next.
Black (Liam) & Rose grab you straight from the start, sucking you into his dark and twisted world.
It’s not a sweet love story. It’s dark, full of triggers and the violence surrounding a paid killer.
Don’t get me wrong. Between the damaged pair, a relationship forms exposing and rebuilding their lives to some extent.
The end is heartbreaking. There is a cliffhanger. I grabbed the next two books half way though reading this so I could dive straight into Red.
She met Liam at a young age but she was taken away. She thought her love for Roger was real. Until she was beaten and drugged. Turn her to an addict. Ten years later in a MC Club Black finds her. That was the day her life changed. He tried to figure out the change he was going through. It was Rose. Then they lost each other again
I liked this book. It jumped around a little bit Planning in reading the sequel.
Great book, it kept me entertained all the way to the end!!!!
Enjoyed being list in this story. A great balance of plot and steam!
OK GRAPHIC SEX SCENES
I have found a book that I love reading about the characters.
I could not put this book down.
It’s a bit more of a thriller with dangerous bad guys and an action movie plot.
OMG….the best book. Loved this author….it was hard to put the book down.

Review:
I expected more of this book. I’ve had this book on my to read list and when this author was going to a book signing I was going to, I figured it was time to finally read it. I was so excited but this book really let me down.
I couldn’t really connect with the characters, I wasn’t sold on their connection either. It felt weird.
The main female Rose, was a weird girl, and not in a quirky, cute kind of way but just odd. Liam (or Black) wasn’t much better either. Both felt like superficial characters, very two dimensional.
The entire story didn’t flow well, scenes didn’t transition well. There was stuff happening but at the same time it felt like nothing was happening.
The writing style wasn’t for me sadly. I liked the concept but the execution didn’t work for me.
Be aware the book ends on a cliffhanger.
Rating:
1 1/2 I didn’t like it stars
I love the book and characters. It’s a intense emotional dark read and page turner. I look forward to reading more of this series.
Welcome to the Blackhole
What a journey pulled into a vortex and back, that was thrilling, exhausting and so exciting!
Loved this whirlwind of a read, the mysteriousness surrounding Black, the soft side that creeps out when he’s with Rosie, this man who has other men in fear, this man that has you yearning for him to find the light.
A journey of first love, loss, rediscovery and a battle to fight for what they believe they don’t deserve and shouldn’t have.
A captivating read from start to finish. Brilliant characters, you’re catapulted from moments that will warm your heart only to then be thrust into a heartbreaking tornado.
It tells of a love that could change their lives forever a journey of rediscovery, its hot, tantalising and brilliantly written.
My first TL Smith book and it still has my whole heart years later after reading it… I absolutely LOVE Liam Black and his story with Rose!
Highly recommend you read my dark Queen words
I couldn’t put this down. I was drawn into this world of deceit and danger and loved it. It was definitely a crazy roller coaster of angst.Never actually knowing what’s about to happen. And with that ending there are still so many unanswered questions. Can’t wait to dive into the next book!
I devoured this book in one sitting. It was an absolutely fantastic read. There were characters I loved and characters I ended up hating. Rose and Liam (Black) together were fantastic and I enjoyed their chemistry and connection. I also enjoyed every bit of mystery they was to Black. He was dangerous but he was also kind when it came to Hayden, Rose and Isabelle. There were so many layers to him. I also enjoyed the side characters Jake, Casey, Sax and Robbie. This story was one full of suspense, mystery, secrets, betrayal and so much more. It ended with a major cliffhanger that left me wanting more and I can’t wait to read what happens next. This is one series that I will be reading again and again. I enjoyed this book a lot and will be recommending to my family and friends.
Started out as a crush that never went away, even years later, with so much bad that has happened to both of them they are finally back together. Rose has had a tough few years to say the least, Black is the last person she would be with. He is dangerous but for her he is the opposite. Loved every single page of this messed up story.
I couldn’t finish the book. The storyline was ruined by the poor grammar. I suggest a new editor be hired! I’d love to use passages in my junior English class as models of comma splices and misplaced modifiers.
I struggled to get into this book. I’m happy I stuck with it. It was a good read and a tear jerker. There was a lot happening and I have to knock some points off for the flowery over dramatic language, it made it hard for me to get into it. Also I felt like there were scenes that left major holes in the plot and reference was only given after a long while of reading. It kind of pulls you out of the story. It’s also highly sexualized (my fave). I have nothing against sex scenes but too many just take away from what could be a fantastic book. Despite all this negativity it’s a really good. The characters are loveable and the story sucks you in. I really love how easy it is to imagine what’s going on. I like how the stereotypes are obviously used but it’s explored on a deeper level which makes it a little more complex.
