“It’s good,” he pronounced. “We need one like you. You need a ghost to fight a dead man.”Black finds himself out in the New Mexico desert, where an old war buddy of his needs his help with a rash of murders plaguing his small reservation town.At first it appears to be a pretty cut and dried case of supernatural infestation. When it turns out that infestation is being orchestrated by a banished and … being orchestrated by a banished and fanatical shaman, however, things start to get weird fast.
Black, who only went out there to forget his marriage problems and distract himself with some good, honest work, soon finds himself face to face with his worst fears from his past.
He needs Miri out there to help him, but when he finally convinces her to come, things only spiral even faster out of control, drawing them into an ancient, apocalyptic force that might tear them apart forever.

Wow & OMG those are the best words I can use to describe this latest Quentin Black story. If you are a regular reader of her other series, the ending will blow you away. My first hint was the trailer and believe me the book kept me gripped from cover to cover.
I received an ARC of this story and have voluntarily chosen to review it here.
Skilled writing that keeps you on the edge of your seat, heart pounding, throughout the entire book. Big question: How did Wolf do what he did? Seems a lot more than just brainwashing could achieve. Also, please stop with the vampires. There are SO many other plots possible! AND for goodness sake, stop the stupid fighting between Black and Miri. It’s time for change here.
It’s time to rejoice as another Quentin Black Paranormal Mystery is out, and Black To Dust (Quentin Black Mystery Book 7) is quite frankly spectacular. I love psychic detective Quentin Black and his partner, forensic psychologist Miri Fox. Quentin is just the perfect example of the “brilliant but dangerous” character type promised in the publisher’s blurb, and Miri is no mere sidekick but worthy of a series in her own right. Poor guys. Once again something relatively simple, this time a case about murders plaguing a small reservation town in the New Mexico desert, escalates frantically. As fast as you can say banished fanatical shamans or ancient apocalyptic force, Quentin and Miri are in a real fix. Not to worry though as this particular dynamic duo is up to the task – and we readers (massively) benefit from another truly enjoyable novel. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises – the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to reading In Black We Trust, the next book in this series.
I received Black to Dust, book 7 of the Quenton Black series, as a free copy from the author/publisher. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion.
Abso-frickin-lutely brilliant! The QB series is one of my top 5 series, and Quenton and Miri a pair of my favorite book couples. I was so excited to (finally) see a new story come out with so many characters from prior books joining the fun. The setting for ths paranormal thriller is the Navajo reservation, and the villain is evil personified (I mean, who exploits children like this?). Excellent tension, and layered sub-plots. And, the ending? Oh.My.Gosh, You have to give Andrijeski credit for her ability to see the long game and make connections and tie-ins the reader never sees coming.
Black to Dust is by far, my favorite QB book –yeah, yeah, I said that about the last two books. You need to give credit to an author who can not only sustain the action across so many books, but surpass herself with each additional novel. The next one is even more promising because…OMG, that ending.
