The Black Light series is a go-to pleasure any time a new one comes out. But as filet mignon is to steak, when a Black Light Roulette book comes out, you know you are going to be in for a special, special treat.
This year’s Black Light: Roulette War is no exception.
The stories this year are phenomenal. The writing is as solid as ever, and the scenes described are absolutely delicious. Even some which touch on kinks that would be a hard limit for this reader (ABDL, fisting, etc.) were done so well that they were wonderful to read (sorry, Measha Stone, still not interested in ABDL, but damned if Jack and Quinn’s story wasn’t soooo good!).
There were a couple of stand-out stories for me: Eris Adderly’s Anson and Ms. Payne (Breathless), and Jennifer Bene’s Pierce and Tori (Wicked).
Anson for me is the sort of Dom I aspire to. Not the text-book bad boy millionaire playboy Dom, but the quiet, intense Dom that makes the hair on the back of a sub’s neck stand up, and a thrilling chill run down their spine. He was so perfect in his precise mannerisms and calculating ways (even if some of that was only on the surface), that I was immediately in love with him.
Oh, and Ms. Payne wasn’t too bad either. 😛
For Ms. Bene’s story, I really loved how Pierce grew into his feelings for Tori, as equally as she did in her feelings for Pierce. Often in these types of stories it’s the Dom who is the big, strong type that knows IMMEDIATELY what the sub is feeling, and how they can *help* them to achieve their wildest desires. Pierce *thinks* he knows Tori, and he does help her discover something about herself, but along the way he TOO discovers that old adage to be true: you can’t judge a book by its cover. And I loved that aspect of their story.
Also, I have to make mention of one particular section of another story (Burn). One of the best descriptions I have ever read of fisting came from Kay Elle Parker’s story, during her Dom Finn’s short monologue about where he’d gained his ‘experience’ for the fisting kink (not going to spoil it, but I legit laughed for a solid minute. ). Well played, Ms. Parker. Well played.
Don’t stop to question whether you should get this anthology; just do it. You’re going to love it. Just like in real life, perhaps not every kink is going to be your kink, but the stories and the characters within are NOT going to let you down.
Enjoy!
I just finished Renee Rose’s story and loved it…can’t wait to read all the rest! A perfect set for lovers of BDSM romance!
East meets West in this sexy series of short stories that take place in the BL world. Let the games begin!
Prelude by Renee Rose
Fantastic start, with lots of heat and kinky fun! I loved this mafia-based tale!
Breathless by Eris Adderly
It’s always great when two people who are afraid to put themselves out there find that they can take that risk and explore their secret kinks. So sexy!
Burn by Kay Elle Parker
When a strong Dom is all that’s needed for this broken girl to push her boundaries, things really heat up. I loved this one!
Inflamed by Golden Angel
A feisty girl makes for some fun scenes in this explosive, erotically charged book! Smokin’ hot!!
Wicked by Jennifer Bene
A spin of the wheel and the game’s on! Loved these two finding their heart’s desire in each other!
Trained by Sue Lyndon
This book featured pet scenes, that I haven’t seen much of, but these were just enough spice that made them intriguing!
Unexpected by Measha Stone
This one pushed the boundaries, but all for the better. How else to know what you were meant to be in the bedroom? So delightfully sexy and hot!
Facade by Livia Grant
Just when you think you’ve done it all, there’s always something new. Loved it! There always another aspect of kink to try!
I absolutely loved this series with its fierce competition! I loved getting each story and seeing how the roulette decided the sexy fate of these willing participants!
Who will win the war
This collection of stories is by some of my favorite authors. When the roulette wheel spins you will find a little bit of something for everyone. You are going to want to read each story even if the kink is not your normal choice, because with just the next spin and a turn of the page you will find yourself in a brand new scene. Just look at these ones.
Prelude
A gentle hand with a commanding touch
When you are the defense lawyer for a Chicago crime family you get used to alpha males, that doesn’t mean you need their high handed ways. How fitting that the Bratva knows what you need. This is softer than most of the books in the Vegas Underground, but no less intense. Hopefully we will get to see more of Ravil and Lucy, I just love the way they connect
5 stars
Inflamed
Dealt a surprising hand
This author sure knows how to bring on the heat. Elliot and Lisa learn what true submission is and that maybe in each other they will find what they need. I love how the author draws out the feelings her characters have in this story. I can’t wait to read what she comes up with next.
5 stars
Unexpected
Soft as a babies bottom
I agree with Quinn in that I’m not sure how I would take to diaper play. But she allowed herself to embrace the game with Jack and found out there is so much more to a diaper. This story was an unexpected surprise that I truly enjoyed. I am looking forward to the next book by this author.
4 stars
Oh my! Are your glasses fogging up yet? No, well you’re going to want to dig on into the book for the next 5 stories. You will find unexpected connections that could have been missed opportunities if not for the spin of the roulette wheel. They might have found their futures at the table, but Only one can come out a winner in this war between east and west and you won’t want to miss the conclusion.
Roulette East vs West
This Roulette anthology was extra special because I got a look at characters in both clubs. I love these anthologies because I get to read new authors and sometimes revisit characters I’ve meet before. These stories are always hot and I learn about kinks I’ve never heard of before. My favorite part is being able to read more about Jaxson, Chase and Emma who started it all.
This is one of my favorite series.
BLACK LIGHT ROULETTE WAR Includes: “One crazy bet. Two sexy clubs. Eight bestselling authors.”
1. PRELUDE by RENEÉ ROSE
Lucy, aka Lady Luck, is participating in this year’s Roulette War at Black Light East only because her best friend has pushed her into it after the breakup with her ex-boyfriend of eight years. Master R came to DC to grease a wheel and as part of his visit, the Russian diplomat wants him to participate as one of the Doms at his BDSM club. The contradictions between these two players, on paper, just doesn’t work. In reality? These are such swoon-worthy, intoxicating, heartfelt scenes that ended with a happy for now. But I’m holding out hope that Reneé Rose continues this one. Yes, it was that good!
2. BREATHLESS by ERIS ADDERLY
OMG!! This is the first book I’ve read by Eris Adderly, but it definitely won’t be my last if this is any indication of the writing style to be expected. I wasn’t real sure how I felt about Anson’s best friend but my heart kind of melted getting to know Anson himself. For a man who didn’t believe in luck the FATES (and Eris Adderly) certainly did shine on him. This was an exceptional read.
3. BURN by KAY ELLE PARKER
Just about the time I think, “This is the best one so far,” here comes another one that absolutely blows me away!! A true Cinderella story told with a BDSM flair that absolutely kept me wide-eyed with a racing heart and tingling bits, the chemistry between Master Finnegan and Ava is beyond drool-worthy. The epidemy of safe, sane and consensual. The last scene just absolutely sent me over the edge and then melted my heart all at the same time. What a great story.
4. INFLAMED by GOLDEN ANGEL
To quote DJ Elixxir, this Roulette is “dirtier, naughtier, and sexier than ever!” After reading the teaser for “Inflamed” I immediately thought, ‘oh, this should be good’ but let me tell you, this one was explosive. I don’t know if I could ever be brave enough to scene with Master Elliott but reading his scenes had me melting into a puddle in the chair. Sometimes, first impressions are not the correct impression and Master Elliott learns that lesson the night of the Roulette War. I absolutely loved this.
5. WICKED by JENNIFER BENE
Holy Cow!! I didn’t think I’d like Pierce, the trust fund bad boy who seemed to have an attitude. But after getting to know him, I understood why he felt and acted like he did. And Baby, aka Tori, surprised me almost as much as she did Pierce. The scenes? OMG!! I thought one of them were definitely a hard limit for me, but I found myself reacting; and not the way I thought I would. These two brought a whole new level to what I initially thought would happen and was thrilled.
6. TRAINED by SUE LYNDON
Xavier’s circumstance made my heart hurt when I was first introduced to him. Losing a loved one is soul-crushing, to say the least, but thankfully he had Corey working for him at the Wellness Retreat. Corey gave Xavier the push he needed to signup for Black Light Roulette West. On the complete opposite end of the spectrum was Rachel who couldn’t hit eighteen fast enough so she could run as far away from the abuse of her father as she could get. By the time the roulette wheel had matched them, they had already noticed one another and the eye connection hadn’t broken since. What Sue Lyndon gave me were scenes that held my interest and a connection that made me what to see what happened next.
7. UNEXPECTED by MEASHA STONE
Don’t judge a book by it’s cover. When Quinn meets Jack at the bar of Black Light West before the Roulette games started, she was a bit feral with all her snapping and snarling as he tried to make conversation with her. His friend had tried talking to her as well and received the same results leading him to state he thought she was a raging b***h! But Jack wondered, he wasn’t completely sure that was the issue. When the roulette wheel pairs these two together, the scenes and results are absolutely NOT what either of them expected. I have to say, there’s a bit of mystery surrounding Jack’s job that I’m really hoping Measha Stone follows through with in another book with these two.
8. FAÇADE by LIVIA GRANT
Did you ever read a book that left you feeling like you’d run a marathon. You’re breathing was a little quicker and you could actually see you pulse in your wrists and hear it in your ears? Yeah, ok. Now you know what this book is like. When Sean meets Karly and the gloves come off, they are explosive!!
For anyone who hasn’t read any of them yet, you really need to. So much kink, so much humanity, so much heart, courage, and drama. These BDSM clubs will not only keep you entertained with the voyeurism from the read but you’ll feel like you’re part of the event. As for who won the war and did it resolve who had the biggest d**k? You won’t hear that from me. I’ll let these authors and their muses tell you the answer themselves.
I loved every single story by every single author.
I don’t dare try to explain each individual story but
I will list the great variety of kinks this year’s stories
covers. We got humiliation play, pony play, breath
play, wax play, anal play, vaginal intercourse, diaper
play, breast torture, pet play, oral sex, fire play, CNC
anal sex, fisting, impact play and latex. Now try not
to get all excited to read this year’s Valentine Roulette!
What happens when two Doms clash. You get a War. Who has the best Valentine Roulette? The east coast of the West coast?
What I loved about this book was seeing the Valentine Roulette from both Black Light venues. There is an amazing group of authors who each focus on a couple during the game. Who wins the game? You have to read to find out.
Renee Rose has this amazing sexy and hot story about a Bratva Dom and a straight laced lawyer looking for love. Opposite attract in this story.
Eris Adderly gave me a front row seat at two intense, beautiful and steamy playscenes. Latex and breathplay are plays you don’t read a lot about and I loved seeing Ansom become undone and Violets trust.
Kay Elle Parker broke my heart with her portrey of Ava. She is much stronger then she think and seeing her blossom under the care of Finn was beautiful to see.
And the queen of butt stuff aka Golden Angel doesn’t disappoint either with an amazing fire play scene and off course an intense anal scene. Loved Elliot and Lisa.
Jennifer Bene Dom start out as a huge *******, but he grew on me. I loved getting inside if Tori’s head and seeing her confusion and realisation about who she is. And what she likes. Jennifer knows how to great intense BDSM scenes..
Sue Lyndon gives us the sweetest little kitten story. Rachel and Xavier will melt your heart with their instant connection.
Measha Stone does a wonderful portrait of a woman hiding her feeling by being a brat and pushing everyone away. But Jack doesn’t give up easily and give her just what she needs and more.
The last story is by Livia Grant and she can write some hot and steamy Pony play. I loved the combination of innocence and experience in Stephanie. Sean was one sexy Dom.
I bought this book via Amazon and am leaving my review voluntarily. This is part of the Black Light Series but can be read alone if needed. It is a multi author anthology.
Triggers: well it’s BDSM genre not Hallmark so if this isn’t your thing do not read
**spoilers**

Another titillating installment in the Black Light world
Another Roulette winner. I just love how each story is a stand alone but still tied to the same theme night. The whole Black Light world is incredibly complex and we’ll built. You can picture each place in your mind and it makes it easy to focus on the individual story dynamics. Excellent erotica/beam at its finest by today’s best authors. You can’t go wrong with a Black Light novel.

These novellas have everything from bad guy Bratva Doms to Daddy Doms. They also did a great job weaving each novella together for a cohesive story.
Love all of the books in the Black Light series and this one does NOT disappoint! It is Fabulous!! So many sexy, steamy Dominant/submissive reads and diverse situations! All from various backgrounds, strengths and allowing the spin of wheel and a little marble to find their match for the night and fulfill their hopes and dreams.
A wonderful way to read these amazing, gifted writers and meet new ones which keep us wanting more. There is a nice range of styles, each with their own unique style and storylines that are cohesive, well developed and keep you engrossed throughout the story until the satisfying end. The Stories are stand alone, short, steamy, and intriguing!
The intro to this by Renee Rose was perfect. Each story presents a different scenario and if, it’s not your favorite, just keep reading, turn the page and you will not be able to move onto the next story. The managers of the Black Light Club on the East Coast and the West Coast each boast that their club is better ! They declare WAR and the challenge is on!! I will not tell you which club won, you need to read the book for that – LOL But, the ending is amazing! Thank you to my wonderful authors, you never disappoint!!
I never think that Black light Roulette can get any better, and another one comes and proves me wrong. The Roulettes are always steamy, hot, unpredictable, and full of new characters that I can’t ever get enough of. I can’t wait to see where each couple goes after Roulette War, and what the next Roulette will bring.

This is an absolute must read!! Satisfaction for all!!
These amazing authors weaved 8 thrilling tales for this year’s Valentine’s Day Roulette. I enjoyed every one of these stories – the intensity, edginess, passion, drama, and ingenuity these very talented writers were able to portray was absolutely staggering. Black Light books are truly one of the best books out there IMO and I highly recommend them. I am sad the war is over but I’m on pins and needles waiting for the next story to come out.
Prelude
This was an amazing story between Master R and Lady Luck. Who would have thought opposites can attract in a powerful steamy way? She’s a defense attorney and he is from Bratva Russian mafia. She is weary of him because she immediately knows of his background. He finds a challenge in her and does not want to forego this opportunity for perfect dominant bliss. Their seductive play goes beyond physical penetration and what unravels between them may lead to unexpected results.
Breathless
Mister M and Miss Pain (Anson Morrow and Violet) gave a thrilling erotic performance. Miss Pain is in for one hell of a ride with a Dom that knows how to bring it to the next level. Mister M was everything she needed and then some. At one point she says “The wheel had given her to Mister M, and he’d made her feel like she was the only person in the club who mattered.” Mister M would ask her questions right before they start a scene, how much do you enjoy… Those questions really gets you going and sets you up mentally and physically for unexpected surprises. The first scene was such a tease, the build-up had me a total mess. Their “play” was super intense and the trust she showed him was spectacular. I like how he got over his issues as well as how she deal with her past Dom.
Burn
Master Finnegan and Ava are one sensational blistering couple. From the start he is attracted to her innocence and she is drawn to the overwhelming pain the Dom can dish out. Not a stranger to pain, Ava goes to BL to seek a refuge from the voices that torment her, forcing her to turn to pain to escape. Little does she know that pain can lead to immeasurable pleasure. With Master Finnegan she finds the perfect means to hand over control and feel pain to a point where pleasure and pain become one. Her intense emotions make Master Finnegan a goner for her seductive whimpers and responses. By the time their time is almost up, they have fused into one massive body of ecstasy, one deriving pain from the pleasure of the other, without lines or border to distinguish one body from the other. Kay Elle Parker took me on one hell of a sensual ride! I cant wait for their follow-up story.
Inflammed
Master Elliot has no idea what he is getting into. He walks into Roulette with a negative experience. He was a proper sub, one with whom he will have a genuine experience with. He is paired up with Lovely Lisa and boy was that a firestorm from the start. She has a crush on him but he looks down on all subs, expecting the worse. What neither expected was how hard each would be pushed outside their comfort zones. Master Elliot was straight up and asshole but Lisa did not disappoint. Golden Angel was superb once again working in her mastery of butt stuff into a sexy af story.
Wicked
Pierce is a straight up asshole. I was really scared as I got to know him because he is so the antithesis of what a real Dom should be. He comes off as very selfish and doesn’t care about the sub. However as we get on with the story we see that perhaps that is a front he puts up because he doesn’t trust anyone to see the real him and accept him for who he is and not what he represents. The same can be said about Tori with needing her costume to meet the status quo but never quiet reaching the peaks she subconsciously sought to reach. Never did I think using derogatory names would be sexy but Pierce and Tori made it work. But that last paragraph was ALL THE FEELS!
Trained
Xavier was the ideal Daddy Dom. I honestly think this was my first time reading a full-blown Daddy Dom story. Daddy Xavier is a widower who has shut himself from love. Still mourning and holding on to his wife, he enters Roulette on a dare/challenge from one of his employees. He is paired up with Dolly/Rachel who really wins the golden ticket in my opinion because Daddy Xavier was the kindest gentlest the doms and Rachel needed someone like him. At one point Dolly experiences a profound panic and he gently assures her that he would be by her side the whole time.
Unexpected
This was another Daddy Dom story but it was not as sweet because the sub, Quinn, was a straight up bitch. Jack is quick to catch on to Quinn’s self-defense mechanism, aka her bitchy attitude. She isn’t even apologetic about it just sort of regrets it after whatever snarky comment has escaped her mouth, but she doesn’t seem to want to do anything about it. I don’t like how she admits to wanting to top from the bottom and how she constantly ruins the whole subbie vibe. Jack is very patient and sees something in her that I don’t even think she can see. Overall it was an enjoyable story.
Facade
A fantastic story- one of battle of the wills between Sean and Karly. As a Dom Sean knows when to bring it on, especially with a sub like Karly who doesn’t have much of a sub persona. She is a former porn star with a career in sex toys. One would think she has the whole BDSM under her belt. Turns out she is more of a novice despite her professional experience in the sex industry. Given her no-nonsense attitude, she attempts to control the relationship but Sean is right there to rectify it and punish her for her missteps. Theirs was a phenomenal pairing and left me wanting more
An amazing variety of five star stories as always by some extremely talented writers. Each year I am thoroughly engaged in reading how each couple use their three hours of time. This year there is a contest between the Black Light on the east coast and the club on the west coast. Prizes to be won and bragging rights until next years roulette night.
Prelude by Renee Rose: Master R’s “tattoos and his dangerous air give him an extra edge in a arena where alpha manliness is required.” Lucy surrenders to the universe and is paired with the purrfect dom. He has Lucy using all of her senses and knows when to bring her pleasure and pain. His kitten has claws. I love his presence, his accent and the edge he brings her to. I’m looking forward to reading more from this couple when Renee writes Ravil and Lucy’s full length story.
Breathless by Eris Adderly: The author who uses her other talents to design all the awesome Black light covers. Anson Morrow thinks emotions are rarely useful. “It’s enough of a struggle just to be me in a scene.” He’s a numbers guy whose need to be able to control his sub for one night and just feel. Master M spins Miss Pain and she’s more than eager to give him control. Their scenes made us witnesses to honesty, trust, patience and respect. And two of the most erotic scenes I’ve ever read. And reread.
Burn by Kay Elle Parker: Master Finnegan description got me all hot and bothered. His imposing figure, his drawl, his nickname of bull and all 195 pounds of muscle bring him to life. “But it wasn’t his physical strength that kept an errant subbie in line. Voice and eyes; the best weapons in his arsenal.” He uses both with Ava. He knows when to take away the pain and when to give her the pain. It’s his responsibility. His little filly rides the burn, sings like a dove and is his own minx. Their connection felt real, all three of their scenes were scorching hot. The middle scene written with such detail I was spent after reading it. Kay has written Ava and Finn as a couple whose relationship needs to be explored and nurtured. Hopefully with a full length story in the near future with Ava coming to live with him on his ranch and Finn treating his darlin like she’s always deserved.
Inflamed by Golden Angel: Master Elliott and Lisa didn’t hit it off at their first meeting. Both he and fire play for which he was a master of are on her Black Light Bucket List. Elliott wants a real relationship and a real submissive. She knew he was a sadist and she wanted more. With him specifically. The flogger starts to spark and fly. So does the humor and their repartee. Three filthy, hot, powerful scenes later and they both experienced everything they had wanted and much more.
Wicked by Jennifer Bene: Pierce has got a fierce attitude. He scopes out his prey by staring at “Baby” to make her uncomfortable. She’s wants a Daddy dom and looks innocent in her school girl uniform that it messes with Peirce’s head. He’s going to push her boundaries and test her limits. After playing she admits that he’s completely different and he’s what she needs. “The opposite of what she would have looked for on her own, but as soon as she made the decision, she knew in her bones it was right. Finally right.” There was some really deep stuff going on in both their heads. Their story was the most difficult one for me to read.
Trained by Sue Lyndon: Daddy Xavier is hoping to find a sub willing to be the baby girl to his Daddy dom. Dolly sees Mr. Mountain Man from across the room and can’t look away. “It was as if he was keeping her captive, demanding her obedience and ordering her to hold his gaze.” She’s trying to escape her past and he’s trying to move forward in life after losing his wife. Dolly sees him as a stern yet caring dom and she like how possessive he is with her. His “sweet little kitten” turns out to be what he needs and she’s happy knowing that he wants to take her back to his house to continue playing. This story was both delicious and sizzling.
Unexpected by Measha Stone: Jack tries to ease Quinn’s nerves. He makes great use of the kit they’ve been given but Quinn’s not so happy and wants him to graduate to the adult toys. Jack’s going to open her mind to new possibilities and his pain slut will get what she’s craving. “He wanted her to trust a perfect stranger to give her what she needed in a way completely foreign to her.” No more dial-a-doms for Quinn. She found she “could lean on him, and he wouldn’t falter.” She loved his steady control. I loved how Jack listened and watched Quinn’s body. He knew when to push and when to step back. Refreshing story.
Façade by Livia Grant: Master Wilde is paired up with a porn star named Karly, who signed up just to get laid. But first he’s going to help her shed her icy shell. “Tonight, you’re my submissive and I’m your Dominant. That means I lead, you follow.” As a newbie to power exchange games, Sean makes sure Karly is well informed but he doesn’t go easy on her at all. Seems she is now enjoying the BDSM games and he wants to rock her whole world. They both learned a lot about each other in this short story. Lots of unexpected action had me flipping the pages to see what they’d do next.
Loved the conclusion with a hot as hell scene with the threesome of Jaxson, Emma and Chase. Adding the much deserved winners names to the overall voting. It was great to discuss all the highlights and hear their thoughts on some of the scenes. Some of which they intend on experiencing themselves. 😉
Oh, I did loooove this Black Light Roulette War book.
Sizzling steam that crackles off the page as the participating Doms & subs are matched together by the turn of the roulette wheel & Fate, as the little ball bounces into its slot. And then again when the subs spin a 2nd wheel to identify the particular ‘scene’ that will be played.
All I can say is I was impressed by the quality of the writing by each author, the plots they revealed, the depth of emotion & intensity conveyed in these short novellas. GAH!!! I soooo did not want any of these tales to end. I wanted to continue these stories, to learn MORE about these characters that in such a short time sucked me in to their experiences that exposed their innermost fears, wants, desires & hopes.
And each story IMO smoothly transitioned to the next, drawing me further & further into the Black Light world: I could hear the bouncing ball of the Roulette wheels, feel the anticipation, taste the alcohol, hear the snap of implements, see the sweat of the subs, the lust of the Doms.
This was an absoulutely stellar journey into the world of Black Light & I soooo hope these tales are made into full length books: because I would definitely read them with excitement. A wonderful read I vastly enjoyed.
i seriously loved this concept of a war between the east and west coast clubs! so freaking fun and incredibly HOT! these eight women, Jennifer Bene, Livia Grant, Renee Rose, Measha Stone, Sue Lyndon, Golden Angel, Eris Adderly, and Kay Elle Parker, flipping rocked this anthology! Thank you, thank you, thank you for filing my days…and nights with swoon worthy reading material LOL. you will NOT want to miss reading any of the books in this collection.
