I enjoyed the book however I will admit it’s not my type of kink. I enjoy reading books about BDSM but there are hard limits for myself in this genre that don’t really interest me. Removing the few parts of the book that were less interesting due to personal taste, i did enjoy most of the book.
Beautiful story of finding yourself and learning to love everything that entails. I loved that her Daddy tried different things with her to find her comfort zone not just shoving her into his. Another Black Light success.
I love this Karan and Melody’s story, it’s love at first sight. This couple has come a long way from being taking advantage of to expressing their needs and wants. I have to say that their foundation was very firm from the beginning, which allowed for them to find their balance and love in each other. I love the growth between these this couple. Karan went from comparing Melody to Krisssy to just trusting his judgement and Melody’s response to him as her Daddy Dom. Whereas Melody went from please others to expressing her feelings and speaking. Above all I loved when she told Peggy off.
A sweet and cute ddlg story
I’m new to Daddy Dom books and the Black Light series. I enjoyed Melody and Kawan’s story. I really liked that Kawan let Melody experience different ages so she could decide what she liked. I wish there would have been more time spent at Black Light and maybe interaction with the owners.
I’m loving the Black Light series.
What a sweet and beautiful story. Melody is a submissive with very specific needs and Kawan is the Dom who is seeking his perfect sub. When these two meet sparks fly. A satisfying read, a hot romance and I loved every minute of it.
Let me start by saying daddy books so AREN’T my kink. That being said I was surprised by how much I loved this book! I was able to not really focus on the daddy aspect of it as much as the little part. I loved how it explained the dynamic and made it more interesting for me to read and understand. I love learning new things and I thought it was cool to not only see inside the mind of a daddy dom but also a little just learning about her own kinks. The chemistry between Melody and her “Daddy” was quick and blazing but it didn’t really seem forced which is amazing. I kind of wish there was a Black Light club near me haha.
I am so hoping to see more of Elliott and perhaps some Lisa in the future…maybe even them together? Who knows!
I love a DD/lg story when it’s done right! Melody and Kawan had that smoldering magic you only find when you’ve found The One. They started out at odds, but man, their story just got better and better. So loved this, it hit all the right notes!
Daddy Kawan and Melody meet at a very unusual place and there is a subtle attraction. And the meet again at Black Light and the sparks fly.
Melody is uncomfortable with having a Daddy but she really wants to try.
These Black Light stories are always entertaining to read and this D/lg story captured my interest from the beginning.
I loved it!
Golden Angel has always been one of my one-click authors. To me, she has the innate ability to personalize any story she writes and suck me into whatever world she has created until I feel like I’m a part of it in my mind, rather than just reading words. As a matter of fact, she’s the one who brought the “Black Light” series to my attention and what a great book this one has turned out to be. A full-length Daddy Dom/little in a real-world situation that is so relatable there was no way to read it without having your emotions involved. I know I’ll have a great deal of backtracking to do in order to read the rest of these books, but Golden Angel has certainly made her contribution a stellar example of what to expect with the rest of the series.
Melody and Kawan explore a Daddy/little dynamic both inside and outside of Blacklight. He self assured, successful and needs a little like he needs his next breath. Melody is brilliant, driven and a little too innocent about the ways of the world. Finding a man to care for and protect her while feeding her inner child seems too good to be true. Happiness comes to them both as they fulfill their desires which leads to their HEA.
it is no surprise that i really enjoyed this book! every book in this series has always captured my attention and helped me to escape into my book dream world LOL. kawan and melody had wonderful chemistry, that i loved being immersed in. i loved this addition to one of my “go to” series.
Loved it!
Melody and Kawan first met in a professional capacity that negated a personal relationship. Though there was attraction, goodbyes were said.
An invitation, a chance meeting and soon these two have the chance to act on their chemistry, explore a DD/lg lifestyle, conquer fears, interference and other issues and learn to love each other and their new relationship dynamics.
I’ve been a fan of Golden Angel for a while, and a fan of the Black Light series almost as long. I knew I would enjoy this one, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I’m so glad I took the chance on it!
I struggle with the DD/lg trope because it’s not my kink, and I usually can’t connect with the characters or their need for this type of relationship. I’ve read a few that have worked, but not many. I’m happy to say that this one worked for me. Melody has the vulnerable, sweet, innocence that I loved. She is a true people pleaser and really does need someone to care for her. Kawan is gentle, patient, and strong enough for her to depend on. Their romance was sweet, sexy, and burning hot all blended together. I love that neither of them come without baggage and the lengths they go to for their HEA. There were moments that broke my heart, made me giggle, and heated my blood. There were other moments that made me angry and frustrated. It’s this emotional connection to the characters that keeps me coming back to both this author and series, and this one did not disappoint. I highly recommend it!
Don’t be put off by the Daddy Dom/ little girl theme
If you’re thinking about reading this book the chances are you are either a Golden Angel fan or love the Black Light series. If like me you love them BOTH, then you are in for one heck of a treat. The author has written a DD/lg romance that can be enjoyed by those who both love the genre and those who don’t mind BDSM but aren’t so sure if it’s their thing (either in reality or in reading material).
Melody is very much a people pleaser and does come across as a bit of a doormat at times. HOWEVER that is very much a deliberate move by the author and is integral to the plot of the book. Kawan is very definitely a Daddy Dom but has been burnt before and occasionally struggles to totally trust Melody’s motives. So we get to see both characters grow and develop as the story unfolds, and what a fantastic story it is.
Defended is very much a contemporary romance, and is about two people with very specific needs and desires learning how to fit those into a relationship that works for them both. Melody is a newbie to the scene but knows she has certain ‘interests’, Kawan is very aware of what he needs in a relationship. I loved how he never overwhelmed Melody, he was almost over concerned that he didn’t influence her choices and decisions, and that made me love him all the more. Kawan punished where necessary but first and foremost cared for and respected Melody.
The story contains a variety of BDSM scenes, some at home and some at the Black Light club. And yes, the author did go there with diaper play but in such a way that (a) it wasn’t difficult to read if it’s not your thing and (b) in such a way that we could understand why it can be enjoyable – even for those who aren’t ‘baby littles’. The scene almost felt educational albeit in a scorching hot ‘I hope no one is reading this over my shoulder’ kind of way.
It was a gentler read than the author’s Stronghold series, though no less enthralling. Given the power exchange dynamic I truly believe it needed that softer touch. I knew a BL book by Golden Angel would be good – but I really didn’t guess it would be this good.
First of all, I think this cover is stunning. For those unfamiliar, Black Light is the name of a BDSM club, so you know there will some kink involved. This book is about Kawan, a Daddy Dom who would love to have a little to look after. Melody is a PhD student, and while she has read a lot about BDSM, has no practical experience. This story flows so sweetly, and is more about characters developing. I loved watching Park open Melody’s eyes to his world, how he shows her options and carefully watches her responses. Park is quite attuned to Melody, and he lets her explore freely. The characters felt like real people. I liked that Park could be vulnerable just like Melody lacked confidence, and together, they are stronger and happier. This story made me think about some of the misconceptions people have about age play, which I hadn’t considered. A great addition to the Black Light series.
I received a copy of this book. My honest review is voluntarily provided.
Black Light has had a lot of great stories and kinks in it, but this is a new one. This is the first DD/lg in the Black Light world, and Golden Angel did so well with it.
Melody is a lovely, sweet soul. But she is a little naive and trusting, which causes her to end up arrested on possession charges. Luckily for her, Kawan is there to help her. He is a high powered attorney who is doing a favor for a friend. And he manages to get her off. All of this leads to them meeting up in Black Light, purely by chance.
I really like Melody. She has such a really sweet and lovely heart. She just wants to make everyone happy, which can be really hard on her, because there are always not nice people who are going to take advantage of that. Not only is she really sweet, she’s also really smart. She’s trying to get her PhD, and her particular field of study is chosen because of her love for her mother. I think that Melody really is just too good for this world altogether.
I like Kawan too. He’s a really decent and honorable man, one who just wants to have the perfect woman to love. He’s been taken advantage of before, but he is still willing to get out there and give life and love another chance.
I really like the two of them together. They could almost be sickeningly sweet, but Golden Angel manages to pull it back from that spot. Definitely a great addition to the Black Light world.
Can I just say that Melody is one lucky girl? Golden Angel writes her frist full lengh daddy dom book and I am ready for more. This one hits all the emotional beats for a great daddy book and it does not hurt that Kawan Park is described as looking like Henry Golding from Crazy Rich Asians.
This was a sweet romance and Kawan and Melody were great characters. It is unusual that there is no drama but rather it is a voyage of self discovery for Melody who badly needs some self confidence and is able to find it through her developing relationship with Kawan. Kawan needs to feel his judgement has not been irreparably damaged and Melody is just the person to restore it. It was a shame there was not a chapter where Melody meets Kawan’s family since much was made of the importance of his mother’s approval, however perhaps that will appear in future books?
I was not sure how far into the daddy dom dynamic this book was going to go. I did really like how the characters explored the different aspects of what a daddy dom is and what it can look like in a relationship. I feel like it was great for a reader who is not as familiar with this dynamic to be able to get a taste of it. As with all the Blacklight series I feel in love with the characters and wanted them both to end up happy with one another!
