Amazon Bestselling Author Mickey Miller, brings you a brand new standalone enemies-to-lovers romance.Recklessly cocky. Brutally handsome. Exceptionally Talented. And Utterly Ruthless.Meet my childhood crush, everybody.Except handsome Shane North is all grown up now, and he’s out for revenge…on me.Before I moved away, Shane was my best friend’s older brother. But Shane isn’t the lanky, spindly … brother. But Shane isn’t the lanky, spindly boy I used to know. He’s been replaced by a handsome man with broad, muscular shoulders and hockey scouts lining up to get him to play for their team.
When he “accidentally” sends me a selfie one night after a chance phone call, then shows up at my house per my mother’s request, a passion ignites inside me that I’ve never felt once in my life.
But there’s one big problem: Shane is holding onto an enormous secret. Something everyone in town seems to know but won’t tell me. My father was the richest man in Black Mountain, and had his share of enemies, as reading his diary informs me.
The more I fight my attraction to Shane, the more I fall for him. Despite his secrets, recklessness, and temper, he’s got a protective streak a mile wide for those he cares about. Which, after one very hot night, includes me.
My attraction to him comes on strong and without warning. But this is no fairy tale. This is a nightmare.
I just pray the big bad ice wolf known Shane North is on my side.
And before I make it out of Black Mountain, I’m going to have to confront the secrets about my father this town has tucked away.
Or should I say, if I make it out of this town.

I am amazed by this book! It was NOTHING like i thought it was going to be. Darker more twisted than anyone would expect from Mickey Miller. This book kept my interest which is hard to do as of late. I couldn’t put this book down! It was darker, yet still has that Mickey Miller steam and love that loyal readers have come to know and love from each of his books! if you like adventurous enemies to lovers stories I would HIGHLY recommend this one! Mickey Miller Delivers yet another amazing well written story!
Mickey knows just how to create a story that pulls you in, even if it’s not your thing. This book has some crazy twists and turns and just some really messed up stuff. It’s definitely more dark than steamy. I enjoyed it, though its not my usual type of book.
Natalie comes back to her hometown to attend her estranged father’s funeral. On a whim, she decides to contact her childhood best friend. Instead of her friend, she ends up having a strange interaction with the older brother of her friend.
Shane has a lot of anger towards Natalie because of her father’s actions and for how he thought Natalie was after leaving the town as a kid. As a teen, Shane and his friends made a pact to get revenge on Natalie’s dad by doing something to Natalie.
This is a fantastic book. It is a darker romance by this author than his rom-com. It is just as fabulous as his books usually are. I was pulled in from the very beginning. I loved the storyline and the characters. I was on the edge of my seat! The chemistry and friction between them was blistering hot! Throw in secrets, betrayal ad you can not stop reading! I had to know what was going to happen next. A definite must read! I am voluntarily leaving my review after reading an advance reader copy from the author and I bought it for my personal library.
Wow Wow Wow!! Mickey Miller brings his characters to a whole new level. I love this type of writing her went with. Every book brings something I grow to love more and more. Miller style is unique. He is not set in his writing ways and writing just one genre. Black Ice is unique, a bit of dark, and has moments that will make you reread a scene and wonder what just happen!!! I loved the characters whole heartily as each one adds life to Black Ice. A new book to add to my favorite list to bring in the new decade!!
Black Ice is very different from this author’s normal books! It’s full of suspense, revenge, hate/anger, and a new budding relationship. Both Shane & Natalie are dealing with grief from losses in there family. Shane also holds a grudge and blames Natalie’s father for his father and sisters deaths! How they deal with these emotions makes this book all the more better in my opinion!
I absolutely loved this book and wasn’t able to put it down once I started. Mickey has knocked it out of the park again with this new one!
I received an arc in exchange for my honest review!!
Natalie returns to her fathers home after he dies and sees Shane… Shane learns she is back and goes to see her Natalie does not understand why he hates her and her father …. Shane wants revenge for the deaths of his father and sister.and made a pledge in HS with 2 other guys that they would get revenge with natalie…. You will have to read to find out what happens this book is so good I dare you to put it down … In my opinion this is one of mickey Miller’s Best……..
Is anybody ever amused by receiving a “naughty photo”? Natalie wasn’t sure whether to laugh or be annoyed. But when the words “oops, wrong person” comes through then naturally intrigue and snippy banter follow. Drawn to her childhood crush, the secrets he hides may not be ones she wants to hear. But will the truth set free the past? Will memories be re-arranged into reality? Quite a bit different than Mickey’s normal hot and sexy tale, this story has a little of the dark inside.
A great love story that had a twist for me. I enjoyed reading a love story that was different than the normal. The mystery of what happened in the small town after a young girl moves away was very intriguing . I loved every word. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next, or when I would get that little bit more of a clue as to what happened next. A love story that proved you can do anything for love.
I loved this story from the very beginning!! Shane has been through a lot and so has Natalie and they find each other again after knowing each other in childhood. This book is super hot and it also has some suspense. I could not put in down. .
OMG! Mickey Miller you did it with this enemy to lover’s romance with all of its angst, drama, and steamy love scenes. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page-turning story. This book is twisted and suspenseful with the right amount of danger. It is a tangled mess of lies and secrets. I was hooked—sometimes laughing, sometimes tearing up, and sometimes telling them to stop it! Just when you think you have it all figured out, it takes a new turn making you realize just how wrong you were. I was flabbergasted with the unexpected revelations that happened, but it is jaw-dropping good! Not all of its surprises are pleasant ones, but there is a certain satisfaction in experiencing a thread that is so obstinately unexpected.
Shane North is gorgeous, exceptionally talented and charismatic who became Black Mountain’s hockey god until he had to move back home because of a horrific accident that killed his father. Natalie Toft lived in this small town then moved to Florida with her mother. Now, Natalie is back because disaster has struck her life—her father died. Will this be the only disaster that Natalie has to deal with? What Natalie does not know is that Shane, whom she grew up with, is out for revenge—and that revenge is towards her. Why does Shane want revenge? Find out how Natalie found out Shane’s revenge plans—you will be amazed! The storyline is fluid, and the characters are extremely well developed. Mickey Miller has constructed a delectably enemies to lovers romance that will lure you into the wee hours and beyond that, you will not be able to put this book down. You won’t regret reading Black Ice!
Natalie has returned to her hometown after ten years to deal with her father’s passing. While there, she tries to connect with an old friend but things take an unexpected turn.
This is not my favourite Mickey Miller book, because I am very uncomfortable with the subject matter and themes. It is still very well written, though, and for those that enjoy the darker themes, it’s definitely one to check out.
This is a dark book compared to Mickey Millers other stories but it was really good. The feelings are so strong from hate to more and with good reasons. I won’t spoil it but Shane & Natalie are somehow right for eachother despite some of the wrongs they had no control over in their lives. Everyone has a dark side and these two embrace theirs in order to survive and find their HEA.
This is not the typical Mickey Miller book that I devour as soon as it releases. This was darker and pretty unexpected but I loved it. Natalie and Shane both have to come to grips with the past they thought they knew. The slow steps to fall in love have all the sizzle you expect from this author and a lot more angst. I couldn’t put it down til it was finished.
This book was soooo good I literally couldn’t stop reading it. It was suspenseful, it was witty, it kept me turning the pages because I needed to know what was going to happen next.
Natalie and Shane used to be friends when they were in grade school but Natalie moved away when she was 12 so going back to her old town meant that she knew no one and would have to go through her tragedy alone, that is until she remembers her old friend and try’s to contact her… what she finds will blow your mind and you’ll wanna pick up this book to find out what comes out this phone call…
This story is soooo good and I without a doubt give it 5 stars
This might be my favorite book by Mickey Miller. This book had what I love in books, humor, but it also had a small splash of darkness, it is just a bit of dark, but something I’m not use to from Mickey Miller. Even though I hope he continues to write RomCom I would love to read darker from him too. Shane and Natalie had some unfinished business but the problem was Natalie had no idea where it was coming from lol. Shane wasn’t the boy she once knew and she loves and hates the new version of him and she’s at a loss but only knows there’s something about Shane that she can’t walk away from.
This was one interesting story the author has come up with. I really like the darkish twist he gave the characters. They reminded me of the ying yang symbol I wear on me neck everyday and what it stands for. We all have a light and dark side but even those can be a little tainted by the other.
The story really was the author going far away from his comfort zone and it was actually very enjoyable. The suspense and the passion were equally balanced and the ending was the epitome of what he wanted to achieve with Natalie and Shane warp up mental states and what they had to go through.
All in all, I really liked the book but I am not really sure it is going to become one of my favourite of Mickey Miller. Is just that I have seen him in his other characters in one way or another and this time it just didn’t happen.
Even so, I had a great time reading it. Everyone should give it a chance!
This was a book that was well worth the read with the well written storyline and characters that were so well developed that I remained on an emotional roller coaster as I followed Natalie and Shane’s journey as it flawlessly unfolded!
Black Ice had me on the edge of my seat as Mickey Miller delivered an EPIC enemies to lovers romance novel with a some twists and turns that I NEVER expected!
This story was a wonderful surprise. It’s a friends to enemies to lovers story, that had a darker underscore than Mickey’s typical stories. He still gives you some light-hearted moments, along with his signature steamy moments, but he stepped away from his typical Rom-Com, delving into heavier subject matter. I was drawn in, wanting to know the answers to the questions, loving the thrill of the suspenseful moments. Some encounters seemed a little quick, but all in all, this was a very enjoyable story. I’m glad Mickey stepped out of his comfort zone, trying something a little new. I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next.
Maybe my new favorite by Mickey. Has a dark edge to it. Great read
