Amazon Bestselling Author Mickey Miller, brings you a brand new standalone enemies-to-lovers romance.Recklessly cocky. Brutally handsome. Exceptionally Talented. And Utterly Ruthless.Meet my childhood crush, everybody.Except handsome Shane North is all grown up now, and he’s out for revenge…on me.Before I moved away, Shane was my best friend’s older brother. But Shane isn’t the lanky, spindly … brother. But Shane isn’t the lanky, spindly boy I used to know. He’s been replaced by a handsome man with broad, muscular shoulders and hockey scouts lining up to get him to play for their team.
When he “accidentally” sends me a selfie one night after a chance phone call, then shows up at my house per my mother’s request, a passion ignites inside me that I’ve never felt once in my life.
But there’s one big problem: Shane is holding onto an enormous secret. Something everyone in town seems to know but won’t tell me. My father was the richest man in Black Mountain, and had his share of enemies, as reading his diary informs me.
The more I fight my attraction to Shane, the more I fall for him. Despite his secrets, recklessness, and temper, he’s got a protective streak a mile wide for those he cares about. Which, after one very hot night, includes me.
My attraction to him comes on strong and without warning. But this is no fairy tale. This is a nightmare.
I just pray the big bad ice wolf known Shane North is on my side.
And before I make it out of Black Mountain, I’m going to have to confront the secrets about my father this town has tucked away.
Or should I say, if I make it out of this town.

A story that took me by surprise and I relished reading every word; in the end, I still wanted more. Shane and Natalie were childhood friends until she and her mom moved to Florida. Now grown up she is back in her hometown to clear out her dad’s home after his passing. She has grown into an intelligent beauty. Shane now a man has a deep-seated hatred for the girl he used to race bikes with. He is a hunk of a man and his sea-blue eyes can hold you captive. When they meet again fiery desires flare up between them. Will Shane’s secret tear them apart or will true love conquer all?
Fabulous spell-binding creative storyline that holds a reader’s attention. The backstories are heart-breaking but give a reader insight into the character’s personas. Shane is protective as is Natalie. Their romance is convincing and devotion shines between them. The author shows that letting go of the past is pivotal to have true happiness. I felt all the emotions that Natalie and Shane felt. Their story is a whirlwind journey.
Black Ice was raw, edgy, and unpredictable… unique and a little on the dark side. The plot is well-thought out and there’s a smooth flow that keeps you interested. There’s danger, revenge, tragedy, angst, suspense, secrets, lies, and so much more in this enemies to lovers romance.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

He is the boy who rode a bike with her as a kid. Shane is a semi-god in this town but he is seeking revenge towards Natalie. Their attraction is intense and there is a fine line between love and hate. The characters are well developed and they will keep you captivate in their story. I honestly volunteered to review this arc.
Mickey Miller keeps getting better and better as he releases his material.
This story starts out as two people who are enemies. Shane blames Natalie for losing his sister. So when Natalie comes to town and calls to speak with his sister, who she didn’t know passed away, a whole new world explodes. They turn to lovers and the rest is history.
Great job to Mickey for doing another fantastic job!!
Mickey Miller took a chance at writing something on the gritter side. This book has all the feels this is book is an intense edgy enemies to lovers book.
Natalie and Shane’s story is full of emotions, attraction, heartbreak. They were childhood friends up until her mom moved them down to Florida after their divorce. Over the years she only can back for visits and lost touch with her friends back home and her visits with her had became fewer and fewer back home. Shane had endured a lot with both the loss of his dad and his sister over the years and views Natalie as he enemy.
This book is raw and intense and will keep you wanting more. The Dark side plus the romance in this book makes it so good.
This book will not disappoint I loved this side of Mickey’s writing.
Black Ice is a dark, edgy enemies to lovers story with the perfect amount of intrigue running through as the secrets that have been hidden in the past unravel on both sides.
There is a fine line between love and hate and Shane and Natalie rode that line perfectly until the line broke!
Natalie is back in her hometown after the death of her father and is thrown back into her past, especially her friendship with Shane. However, they have both grown up and changed. So, can they repair their relationship, do they even want to or is their more to their relationship than either one of them anticipates.
Shane is a man of many contradictions in Natalie’s eyes but it is really all about the secrets. She wants to figure what is behind his mood swings and what he is hiding. Shane really wants to hate her but now that he is getting to know her he is questioning everything he has ever known.
But there is so much about this town and her father she never knew about and as the secrets are uncovered the danger gets closer for them both!
This Author tried something new, and I enjoyed most parts of it. Some sections I felt he was too much, and she not enough, but for the most part, I really enjoyed it. The backstory really tugged at your heartstrings, the mystery surrounding the desolate town, the danger creeping in, and the last few chapters really had me on the edge of my seat. Hot and steamy as always, paired with a friction between them that kept it interesting, I really had a great time reading!! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!!

Great delve into a darker side of writing for Mr Miller, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I thought that Shane and Natalie were fantastic characters, just the right amount of angst and plenty of chemistry.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
4.5 stars
This is a next level book for this author. I was used to his rom coms, but this book has much darker themes to it. It starts just after the funeral of Natalie’s father. She left the small town with her mother when she was 12 and hasn’t been back since. She remembers her friend’s brother Shane-they rode bikes together as kids. This story is the unfurling of those dark, intervening years. The story is told mostly from the sheltered Natalie’s POV. I stayed up late to finish this one. It’s a bleak tale about humanity, revenge, retribution, with hope for new beginnings. The emotions in this book are raw and real, and the plot reflects a sad reality. Mr Miller’s finest work to date.
This was an enjoyable enemies/friends to lovers with a touch of a sports romance. Shane and Natalie have a shared chemistry that isn’t always synced for quite some time but witnessing their connection develop firsthand had me wanting to see where things end up. There’s a nice blend of secrets as well as romance throughout the story, moments that will have you on the edge wondering which path the story will go.
Shane and Natalie were childhood friends until Natalie went away to college. Natalie happens to come home after a tragic event and sees Shane is no longer her childhood friends little brother but, a gorgeous man. Can they overcome the bump in the road and realize that they were meant to be together? This is a beautifully written enemies to lovers romance with a hea.
This is an awesome book. Enemies to lovers story. It is not Mickey’s normal rom com, it’s darker and has twists and turns but and you will love it! I couldn’t put it down!
what a hot read that will have you loving this amazing story. this book will have you hot and bothered. this is a smoking read, i love this author and every book gets hotter and hotter.
If you’re familiar with Mickey’s writing and enjoy his rom-coms, this is definitely different, a darker tone and storyline. I found the story well written, paced well and very moody. Natalie has come home to her childhood hometown after her father’s death and stays to clean out his things, alone. Shane has a sizable chip on his shoulder, not that he didn’t come by it naturally, mainly stemming from his father and sister’s deaths as part of an unfair life, so out of sorts that he came home to help out his grieving mother, quitting college and turning his back on a possible career in hockey he has a lot to work through as well as wanting to change what he can in the down spiral of his hometown. The book begins with a grieving young woman reaching out, wanting to connect with a familiarity from childhood only to find a hostile brother of her childhood friend that seems to have nothing but hate for her. Clueless to the life that existed after she moved away this story makes it clear that there are a lot of things that weren’t what they seemed and life in a seemingly remote area is much harder that she remembers. This is a enemy to lovers story with a lot of healing, lots of dark tone with sprinkles of humor, deep feels and sexual tension. A very good read.
I absolutely loved Shane and Natalie’s story. This wasn’t your typical love story. It was dark and brooding. With many ups and downs. I could not put it down. This just goes to show Mickey Miller can write anything, and do a very good job at that.
I received Black Ice as an ARC copy and I have to say Mickey did it again and wrote a fantastic book! This book drew me in from the beginning all the way to the end and it was hard to put down at times when I was interrupted lol. There were highs and lows, parts that made me laugh and parts that made me sad. The chemistry between Shane and Natalie was off the charts crazy.
Natalie goes back to her childhood home because her father passes away and she has to go through his belongings. She is in the house feeling all alone and hasn’t had contact with anyone for 10 years. She tries calling an old friend, Louise, but finds out from her older brother Shane that she passed away. He isn’t very nice to Natalie on the phone but a little while later he plays games with her by texting her. Natalie’s mom asks Shane to check up on Natalie and I think him seeing her stated the spark in him. I have to say the bathroom scene cracked me up, I was wondering if we was gonna turn the shower on her .
Shane has been angry for a long time, since his father was killed in a mining accident. A few years later he lost his sister in an accident. So he is a grieving mess and has a lot of built up anger and hatred, especially for Natalie’s father. So we have one mega snow storm, some secret telling, some tears, some anger, a steamy hot hookup, and then a connection happens somewhere inbetween between Shane and Natalie.
Natalie ends up getting kidnapped by two of Shane’s friends from high school. It was a plot they come up with a long time ago but these two seem to keep holding their grudge and not letting go. They try to scare Natalie in the mines but everything goes wrong. After everything Shane and Natalie went through they deserve all the happiness that they can get. I loved the ending and was so happy that they were following the path they were meant to!
A dark enemies to lovers romance read that doesn’t disappoint! Black Ice will have you at the edge of your seat with its twist and turns that you did not see coming. Heat level galore with great chemistry between Natalie and Shane gives for some hot and steamy loving. If you enjoy this genre than this is a must read for you!
Whew this book was something else. I love enemies to lovers when there is true anger under the surface. I also love how the authors use love to drive it away, how Natalie was able to calm the storm inside Shane. The suspense plot line was really good, I loved how Mickey Miller built it up to where I knew something was going to happen but all the characters kept bouncing around the plan until it was almost played out. I loved the history in this story, the detail in all of the characters and how Mickey Made the background characters feel like so much more. I hope to see Natalie and Shane in future books!
Rising from the Dark into the Light…
I enjoyed reading this story and seeing a much grittier side to Mickey Miller. The story of Natalie and Shane is intense, electrically charged and full of intense emotion. I was captivated and intrigued from the very beginning.
Natalie returned to her childhood home of Black Mountain after her father passed away. A lot had changed and not for the better. Shane her friend’s older brother was not the same gangly boy that Natalie remembered. He was all grown up and gorgeous, but oozed a dangerous vibe that both scared and excited her at the same time. Shane was carrying many secrets within himself and Natalie found she needed to find out what they were. But Natalie was not aware that she was at risk just showing her face and returning to Black Mountain.
Shane hated her but also grew fond of Natalie when he found out she was not at all what he perceived her to be for many years. Struggling to figure out the feelings they both had for each other, they needed to come to terms with the past in order for them to have a chance at a future with each other.
