Ravenna Burroughs thought she was being offered the perfect job in Black Hollow. One that gave her access to the oldest books on magic. Here she could finally find out how to break a curse and fix her family’s magic problems. What she didn’t expect to find…. The family, that her’s cursed.Derrick Ainsworth and his whole family were cursed thousands of years ago. Something changed and the curse was … and the curse was setting in earlier and earlier. Ravenna never put a face to the names of the cursed, but now she can’t forget them. She knows time is running out to save those she has come to love. The key to the future
This book is another fantastic story to add to the town of Black Hollow. It is a super fast read and gets right into the thick of the action. I enjoyed the instant connection these two found and how, once again, the town rallied behind the ones in need. The author kept my interest from beginning to end and I can’t wait to see what she sends our way next.
I love the residents of Black Hollow. Ravenna is a witch librarian that has been researching how to restore her family’s magic. She takes a job in Black Hollow to have access to their formidable library. The library has three ghosts that “help” with the library but cannot interact with anyone because they are…well, ghosts. Derrick is also researching how to break a curse put on his family by Raven’s ancestor. As they age, they slowly but surely become zombies and lose their mind. When Derrick and Raven first met it was not pretty. After she was able to explain that she wanted to help, he got the whole family involved in the research. I love her discussions with the ghosts and their actions. I loved how the ghosts helped gathering books for the family to research. The unexpected twist was great! I am loving this series! I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
ONE MAN’S CURSE is the fifth book in the multi-author Black Hollow series. While each is meant to be a stand-alone paranormal romance, there is enough interaction with other characters that I believe that you will enjoy it more if you have read the previous books.
This was a fun, entertaining, paranormal romance with some nice twists thrown in to keep the characters and the readers on their toes. What a unique take on zombies! These are not your common Hollywood zombies looking for bra-a-a-ins. Instead, it’s a curse that more closely mimics Alzheimer’s.
I especially liked the inventive supporting characters, shops, and powers that were introduced or displayed. They added color and texture to the story.
I have loved the books I have read from this series so far, and I’m lucky enough to have one more to read today. I’ll be back soon with my review of FAIRLY SWEET.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Ravenna moves to Black Hollow to research a cure for an ancient curse that causes members of an entire family to gradually turn into zombies. Derrick is dealing with the deterioration of his uncle. When he meets Ravenna, he is horrified that her ancestor was responsible for all that suffering. They will have to work quickly together to save his uncle. I enjoyed this novel in the Black Hollow series.

Witches, zombies, ghosts, and curses live within the pages of this book to create a simply delicious reading experience!! I love the world and place that Jennifer Wedmore takes us to every time she puts pen to paper (or nowadays, fingers to keyboard) ever since I started reading the Black Hollow series! Derrick has a family curse that he needs to find a cure for. Raven travels back to Black Hollow where she believes she will find the solution for a curse her family played a role in only to meet Derrick. They are attracted to one another from the start but therein lies a rub…her family was involved in the initial curse and it will take them working together to defeat a very powerful, evil witch to lift it!! This is a great book and I will have to check out the other books in the series that are written by different authors and hope that those are just as fabulous as the ones that have been written by Ms. Wedmore!

This is the first time in reading this author. Having seen her around the book world then next I seen she has written a book. Then I came across one that intrigued me so in I ventured. It also happens to be one in a series by different authors centered in Black Hollow. In the center of this one is Ravenna and Derrick with both having to fix something that has to do with their families. Time will also be on the short end so we at times will be anxious to say the least. This though is intriguing enough of a puzzle that you too want the answers and some solutions to solve what is what. Interesting place Black Hollow.
I was completely drawn into the Black Hollow series and this is no exception! I absolutely loved reading about Raven and her reasons why she is looking for a cure for the curse her ancestors put on a family line. Also about Derrick and his family being the cursed ones and what it entails! Loved the happy feelings of family helping out. What an awesome book!!

This was a fun story about a witch named Ravenna who goes to the small town of Black Hollow in order to help lift a curse on the zombies. When she gets there she ends up meeting some really interesting characters, including some ghosts that inhabit the library. As she works with the locals to break the curse she ends up falling for a zombie named Derrick. Crazy things start happening and they will all end up in a fight with a very powerful witch. Will they all be able to band together to break the curse and defeat the witch? This book was a lot of fun to read and I really enjoyed meeting all of the different characters. Love the Zombie Idea
Wasn’t sure what I was going to think about a story with a zombie, but this was actually a very interesting story. I enjoyed watching them come together as a group to solve a problem.
I will say I never saw the twist coming in the end but it perfected the story.
Only issue I had was some places the flow seemed slow then other places it was fast. Had to reread a couple places.
Until Next Time… Tabi
A very enjoyable and entertaining read. I absolutely loved the whole unique concept on zombies. The sexual tension between Raven and Derricks was a sight to behold but they made me laugh out loud and smile at the same time. Overall a great read definitely looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I received free copy via Booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Wonderfully easy to get lost in…
A fantastic romp into a curse and the consequences. Jennifer Wiedmore fills the pages with an enticing story full of magic and mystery. With family support on one side and distant family on the other, the balance between a paranormal romance and a realistic setting is wonderfully achieved. A great story which I found thoroughly entertaining and easy to read.
I have not read a zombie book for a super long time but I saw this one loved the cover so thought why not give it a try. This book will make you smile and laugh and take you down a magical rabbit hole. Will Derrick be able to save his family? Is the love he and Ravenna have for each other doomed? You really should pick this one up it was hard to put down and it was such fun to read. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I loved the storyline. It is so different and unique. This is my first book by Jennifer Wedmore and I have to say color me impressed. The story is well written and the characters are well developed. Yes, it is a quick read but very good. You don’t feel like you are missing out on anything. I loved the support characters as well and how well they are developed. Raven and Derrick have this sweet romance that develops quickly but not so quick that it makes it feel rushed. It is definitely worth reading and doesn’t disappoint.

I absolutely love this series and the authors writing it. The stories and characters are so creative and blend so well. Derrick has been searching for a cure to a curse that has plaguing his family and making them suffer watching each member deteriorate earlier and earlier. When Raven arrives the person she meets is Derrick the one person she was afraid to meet but the attraction between them is immediate which makes it even harder for her.. The story of this curse was so good I could not put it down.
Zombies aren’t my thing but having met the zombies involved in previous Black Hollow books I chose to give this a read. Oh what fun! This book is delightfully sweet and silly. I really enjoyed the chemistry between Raven and Derrick and they made me smile and laugh out loud on several occasions. This book is part of a terrific series but can be read stand alone.
Witch Guilt
A quick read for break time or just a little something before bed.
Now I am going to request a full length story with background on Lucan and his fate. This book just wet my appetite to no more about Lucan and his place in the faerie world. Let’s not forget Willa and Cora too.
Black Hollow is were the paranormals are welcome as long as they mean no harm.

Another Black Hollow story that will make you fall even further in love with the characters and the world!
I’m not one to read stories with zombies but I was glad I read this book. The author brings a fun paranormal romance with an entertaining story line. The characters are strong and well developed and the scenes are described in vivid detail. I loved the story line with the twists and determination to break the curse. There’s humor with some laugh out loud moments. I enjoyed and would recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
** spoiler alert ** Ravenna is trying to find a way to get her magic back. Derrick is looking for a way to break his family’s curse. They need each other. Will they find it before it is to late?
I loved how these two were supposed to technically be enemies, but came together and figured it out. I loved how Derrick was determined to stop the curse no matter what. I loved how Ravenna was caring and while initially it wasn’t her intent, she became determined to change their future. Good read!
This was an intriguing story. I loved reading it. It was a pure blast to read. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
