You don’t know me.But that’s only because I don’t want you to.I have the most lucrative job in the country as a hacker in the notorious underworld. I’ve built entire systems and destroyed evidence for career advancement while stealing and exploiting data for personal gain.I’m the black hat hacker for the Chicago Syndicate and hold all the dirty secrets of the most powerful men in the U.S. in the … in the U.S. in the palm of my hands, just a keystroke away from mass ruination.
However, no one knows my dirty secret, a decision from my past that’s just aching to blow up in my face and shatter my future. Especially when a certain wavy haired brunette begins to demand my attention with her odd ways and her carefree attitude.
She’s a woman who makes me go against everything I’ve ever believed.
A woman whom I’m forbidden from having my usual one-night stand with, even if she was available.
A woman whom I have to keep from getting herself killed, whether she likes it or not.
You don’t know me, but neither does she…yet.
A contemporary romantic suspense novel. A mafia romance.
Although part of the Chicago Syndicate world, Black Hat Hacker is a complete standalone and can be enjoyed either with or without reading the rest of the series.

Because love makes us fear,
and fear can be ten times stronger than love”
OMG – One of the top TEN books I have read!!
Mesmerizing – Suspenseful – Engaging – Scorching
So many verbs I could use to describe the roller coaster ride that is Henry and Mary
Naomi did an absolutely remarkable job of dragging me in and trapping me – There wasn’t a moment that I wasn’t on edge and breathless – Brilliant!
I originally received an ARC from the author and this was the first book in this series that I had ever read – It is easily a stand alone though I promise you will want the rest of the series-
I ended up purchasing the whole set of 6 – Yes it is that good!!!
Although Black Hat Hacker is book six in the Chicago Syndicate series by Soraya Naomi, it truly is a standalone – as I haven’t read others in the series yet, I didn’t have any problems following along. I won’t recap the story, others have done it, the author wrote a great snippet, but I will say this: the author nailed it as far as the whole Italian/Mafioso “family” dynamic. I know these people, except I grew up in a different part of the country. I am also a former software engineer so Henry’s profession intrigued me from the start. Honestly, I had a hard time with the violence but it fit with the story and the lifestyle. Mary…as someone else has said in a review, she made me crazy! Not only did I know her but I think I’m related as well. Seriously, she could be a not-so-distant relative that showed up for Sunday dinner. She was a bit immature and yes, she was only 20, however some of her decisions were dangerous to herself – and she wasn’t part of the syndicate, except that it is run by her brothers. The story is very good, will hold your interest, has some very smexy and hawt parts, and your emotions will be all over the place. I know mine were. Will keep your interest throughout the story.
Wow! Outstanding book and series!!
See book 9 for my full review
Henry, fifth in command with the Chicago Syndicate, is the Black Hat Hacker. He knows a lot of dirty secrets about a lot of very powerful men. Henry also has a dirty secret of his own that he doesn’t want out. Mary is the sister to the head of the most powerful Chicago mafia. Mary and Henry were friends who cross the line and became much more to each other. Once they finally get together everything changes for both of them. Talk about some hot sex!! Can Henry trust Mary with his secret? Will their relationship be accepted by the Syndicate?
The twists and turns help make this book a page turner. I couldn’t put it down until I read the whole book. There’s an element of danger that is woven into the story and it had me on the edge of my seat. This is a beautifully written suspense filled story of love and strength. I love a great mafia story and now I’ve found a whole Chicago Syndicate Series to read. Soraya Naomi has a new fan!! I loved Black Hat Hacker!! Although this is book #6 in the series it was my first to read. Luckily I already have books 1-5 on my kindle so I’ve got some reading to do. Black Hat Hacker is a definite one-click book.
In this next book in the Chicago Syndicate series, we follow Henry and Mary’s story. Henry is the Syndicate’s top hacker and Mary is the sister of the boss Adriano and the syndicate’s lawyer Carmine. Mary and Henry started as friends but unfortunately their connection would not let them remain that way. Problems are Henry isn’t sure how her brothers will take them being together and a woman from Henry’s past is targeting Mary and he will do anything to protect her. While surrounded by danger, lies and betrayals can Mary truly trust Henry or is his pulling away from her mean something more? I love how much of a spitfire Mary can be. I loved this story with all it’s twists and turns. This series is one that I love reading and I hope the books never stop. This book can be read as a stand alone but there are other characters from previous books involved. I loved how protective Henry is of Mary and she fights for her independence to be her own person. The family element of this series is simply amazing. I can’t wait to read Carmine and Eva’s story next. Definitely recommend this book and this series!!!
This was such a great read. I absolutely enjoyed Henry and Mary’s story. There were definitely some twists in there that I didn’t suspect regarding Keano and his accomplices. The huge shocker however, was definitely the surprise with Henry; I was completely blindsided. His and Mary’s story wasn’t a smooth one but its definitely one worth reading. I enjoy Adam’s character, he is so sweet and has the weirdest names, but it always seem to fit. The ending was a sweet one and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I highly recommend these standalone books in this series if anyone is looking for a great mafia read.
Awesome, AWESOME Soraya another brilliant addition to the series, Mary and Henry story just had so many twist and turns in it, had me grip to find out how it would all end, have no fear you get no spoilers here, I would recommend this book to everyone plus the rest of the books in the series.
