This is the fourth and final book (or is it?) of the vampire series, “VIRGIN BLOOD” by the incredible author, Alexa Riley and I’m both sad and happy about reading this final story. Here are some of the reasons, everyone gets to have their well-deserved happily ever after with their fated mates and evil forces are vanquished for all eternity, leaving each mated pair to live without having to look out for enemies (even though there will always be someone or something but as a united family/friends, they’ll always have each other’s back).
Bishop is the oldest of the clan; Kane, Ravana, and the twin brothers, Ezra and Eric and Bishop is almost two hundred years old. They say if you don’t find your fated mate before you reach two hundred years of age, then you turn crazy and must be put down. When I read this part, I was like, “AR FIND BISHOP HIS MATE ALREADY!!”
I felt for him because he got to see everyone meet his fated mate except him and he probably thought he would never find her, but boy did fate have a surprise for him, for Dove, who’s Ezra and Eric’s shared fated mate, knew of Loren but who knew that was Bishop’s mate and salvation.
Now, Loren hasn’t had it easy either. She’s adopted by a man, her “father” who doesn’t show any interest nor affection towards her and she doesn’t understand why he adopted her in the first place… seems destiny has its twists/turns, surprises for everyone and Loren was special; she was destined to be with Bishop <3
Let's be real, not everything is all they're instant together, nope. They both have obstacles to overcome, a bad guy to battle and someone who appears and surprises us all with who it is and I hope we get his story too!!
This was an excellent story, once again, the author, Alexa Riley blew my mind and my ovaries 😉

In Bitten by the King, the fourth book in this series, Bishop, the head of the vampire family, finally finds his forever mate, and just in the nick of time. He’s fading fast, growing weaker the longer he lives without a mate. After spending 200 years searching for her and having no luck, BAM!, she materializes quite by accident when she helps the forever mate of the twin brothers from Book 3 get back to their home. When they realize who she is, they waste no time helping Bishop get her for his own. This book was a quick, fun read, better than the previous book, but still not the BEST thing I’ve ever read. As vampire’s go, Bishop and his family were okay–interesting enough. They kept my attention and were worth a quick read.
Bitten By the King by Alexa Riley is book 4 in the sizzling paranormal romance series “Virgin Blood”. Loren has lived her entire life locked up in her home for as long as she could remember. Loren feels like she’s a prisoner in her home and she sort of wishes her Prince would take her away from this drudgery kind of life- I remember reading and thinking same thing. So who could save this beautiful Princess but a vampire Prince Charming to named Bishop. Their love story is unconventional, unique and exciting. Loren and Bishop had this red-hot connection way before meeting that involved dreams. They truly were fated mates. Yet forces were determined that they weren’t to be together-never.
Just know that this one fast paced action packed short story, with angst, drama, and passion that will send your Kindle to smoking while your glued to the screen, determined to find out the answers that have abounded and remained unanswered, also while wanting to make sure Loren finally gets all the answers she deserves and that her and Bishop get their well deserved HEA. OH MY, yes, this was a freaking fantastic ending to one awesome paranormal romance series that has some great campires. I hope this isnt the last we’ll see of vampires (hint hint). The ending had me in gasps -what a deliciously great way to end Virgin Blood.
My Rating: 4.8 stars *****
Finally we get Bishop’s story!! It felt a little rushed and I didn’t feel like he & Loren got to be together in the story as much as the other couples, which was disappointing. I loved the build up, especially w/ the paintings & everything! And there was some steamy goodness as well. I just wanted more from this one, I guess. Overall loved it despite those minor issues, tho!! AND hoping that Grim gets a story not just on the podcast (that’s a really cool concept, I’m just not into audio books)!! : )
Yes!
Bitten by the King is the book I’ve been waiting for in this series. I wanted Bishop to find his mate. Someone who he could spend eternity with.
If you aren’t familiar with this series, it’s OK, you can read Bitten by the King as a standalone. However, we first meet him in book one and to be honest, you want his back history. The build up to his happily ever after has been my source of happiness.
Bishop is the leader of his clan and while his family has started to find their mates, he knows his time is coming close. He needs to find her so he can spend the rest of his life with her and his family. With the clock ticking, it seems there is no hope. However, there’s always been someone for him and he just had to find her.
What I liked about this one is that there was a bit of extra drama. The storyline of how Bishop gets Loren is a bit filled with drama and angst that is unusual for AR. So for that, I’m extra excited.
I know this series is wrapped up but I’m dying for more. Just a few pieces of them all to continously keep me interested.
Thank you, AR for taking the chance on your signature over the top cheesiness combined with vampires. You did it so well with werewolves, it’s only given you’d do so well with vampires.
A fantastic part of this new series! I loved reading Bishop and Loren’s story! There was excitement, betrayal and some dramatic near death twists, and then the hot mating scenes too. The story is strong even without the steamy bits, so this is like fresh devil’s food cake, you can enjoy it with just some powdered sugar, but you know it will be 1000 times better with that frosting. The sex is the frosting, btw. I loved it. The story reads fast, the characters are engaging, and the action is steady. I really want to know about Grim but couldn’t figure out the link thing at the end, so I hoe the authors decide to just go ahead and give him his own book too!
