Ryan Chase left Fairbanks, Alaska, when she was 21 years old to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. Somewhere along the way her dreams of stardom crashed and burned, along with her life.
Thirteen years later she is forced to return to Fairbanks because her unforgiving and emotionally-distant father has suddenly died. Ryan seizes the opportunity to not only escape her abusive husband but to … husband but to be able to attend her best friend’s wedding. What could go wrong? It’s only Fairbanks, Alaska…
While wishing she was anywhere but her father’s funeral and wake, Ryan is struck senseless by a stunning, drop-dead gorgeous man. Her thoughts turn carnal and she desperately wants to know him in every way—and position—possible. There’s only one problem…
He’s the devil’s spawn.
He’s the one who marked her for life.
He’s the kid she used to baby-sit.
And he’s hotter than hell!
Shea Michaels has loved Ryan Chase for most of his life. After surviving an unspeakable childhood, he became a man of whom she could be proud …if she ever came back.
Now that she’s returned, Shea pursues her with a vengeance, undaunted by the thirteen year age difference that Ryan uses as the shield between them.
Confusion, guilt and lust bombard Ryan as she battles the memories of the little boy she used to know while still being drawn to the heart-stopping man he has become.
***18+ due to explicit sexual situations, graphic language and intense adult themes.

My first Cory book….. I can tell you it won’t be my last ….. I loved it… I love her writing style, younger men older women and lots of mind blowing sex …. what more can you ask for ?
A refreshing, endearing but definitely emotional journey to go on. I absolutely adored this book.
Bite and Release was AMAZING! It brought me on a roller coaster of emotions!! I couldn’t put it down!! You know a book is great when you finish it in 1 or 2 days!! And mmmm Shea!! I highly recommend picking it up if you haven’t already!!
I love angsty hot reads with humor and that is exactly this book. Shea and Ryan definitely have great chemistry which makes for a fun and addictive read. Ryan is a fantastic character, full of spunk, strength, kick ass humor and inner dialogue, and has a big heart. The same goes for Shea too plus he is sexy as all hell and quite smooth.
Amazing Hot Read!! I loved the fact that this was an older woman/younger man story. Plus it was smoking hot.
It was also a heartbreaking story at times that is really relatable to many people. It was beautifully written and kept me wanting more.
Definitely a must read!!
I LOVED this book…love, love, loved it! One of my favorite books of the year…loved, loved, LOVED it!!! Loved the whole younger man aspect, so nice to see that for a change instead of always older man/younger woman. Just enough angst and drama without being overdone. Plenty of hot sex! Shea is a doll, I need one of my own! I just want to gush over this book, it was wonderful.
010515 Started rereading this today so I will write a better review this time around! I think the first time I was just so overwhelmed with Shea I wasn’t able to form a coherent thought!
Ugh, I’m reading “that part” and I’m dying again…
I don’t know what else I can write about this, it was one of my favorite books last year and it still is!
Shea has waited 13 years for Ryan to return to Alaska…my God, that just makes me swoon on its own. He was just a little 8 year old kid that she used to babysit, before she up and left for New York. He never gave up on her…”She was everything to him, and he loved her.” He knew from the beginning she would be his, even telling her father that he was going to marry her! “He’d wait for her, no matter what. He would love Ryan forever.”
After Ryan’s father dies she makes what she thought would be a temporary move back to Alaska for his funeral and to handle his estate. She gets her first look at Shea at the reception, but she has no clue it’s him- she just thinks he’s some random hottie. So funny when she finds out it’s really Shea…”I had just been eye-fucking the kid I used to babysit.”
Oh poor Ryan, the conflicting emotions she has to deal with!
So many emotions throughout this book, I felt for both Shea and Ryan, my heart hurt for each of them.
“I’m laying down the torch I’ve carried for thirteen years. I actually dreamed about this moment for years, and I honestly thought that if you saw what I had become you might want me, but I can’t force you. I can’t make this happen, regardless of how much I want it to. I hoped that you would want me, but’s obvious you don’t.” Oh Shea, you don’t need Ryan, I am here for you!!!
Ryan doesn’t easily give in, but once she does, oh.my.lanta. The heat between these 2, the mouth on Shea, off the charts.
I don’t even want to go into the angsty part of the book because it just makes me so anxious. It was very well written, the heartache they both felt- I really hope Cory Cyr adds that part in Shea’s book she is writing, I really want to see it through his eyes.
