The Red Plains are hot. But my fae king? Even hotter. So, we kind of got captured by a warlike clan of Vundi warriors. Sounds bad, right? But they treat us as guests, and I’m coming to like them despite the ongoing threat of me being shipped off to the king beyond the mountain. I still endeavor to reach the winter kingdom and find a way back home … until the Vundi high priestess reveals that I … may have more ties to the fae world than I ever imagined. On top of that, Leander knows just what buttons to press to get me naked, in a tub, and panting for him. My resolve is failing on all fronts, but worse than that, I discover danger is even closer than I realized.
Author’s Note: Bite of Winter is book 3 in the Fae’s Captive Series. You’ll want to read Fae’s Captive and Road to Winter: Fae’s Captive 2 before beginning this book. Fae’s Captive 4, Beyond the Mountain, will complete Leander and Taylor’s story arc, and Book 5 will begin Gareth and Beth’s story (with plenty of cameos from Leander and Taylor).

The lines are becoming blurred…who is an ally, who is an enemy.
Through each day of their dangerous journey, Leander, King of the Winter Realm and Taylor, his fated mate, grow closer. No longer completely freaked out by the fact that the King keeps insisting he is her home…and we’re about to find out why.
I’m so happy that the next book in their journey is already released…I’d have a terrible time waiting for the cliffhangers to be resolved. This is a wonderfully entertaining series! OMG that unicorn! LOL
YES! Finally the coveted mating scene… and what a scene it was!! How Archer makes it lava smoldering hot in the middle of a winter cyclone speaks to her outstanding talent in crafting that unforgettable passionate scene. She has definitely outdone herself in this third installment of this riveting tale that features Taylor, a human changeling, caught up in the fae realm and her super sexy fated mate, Leander the king of the winter realm. I have to be honest, while I enjoyed reading about Arin and its desolate lands, the Vundi with its unique personas, I was anxiously waiting for the magical mating scene, a crescendo soaring up to the climax. Boy what a tease it was building up to that moment and when we least expect it, Leander lets loose of his inner feral and becomes one with Taylor. This book has its fair share of intrigue and betrayal along with revelations that will leave you mouth-wide-open. And that cliffhanger… I’m sure by now Lily Archer has a faithful fan base of addicts, I mean readers Lily Archer
Lily Archer has renewed my love of fantasy with the world she’s created in the Fae’s Captive series. No detail is overlooked, and as the series continues the smallest details have purpose, like Taylor’s opal necklace. The books are fun and fast-paced…yes, there’s a cliffhanger, but it just adds to the anticipation for more.
Leander, the Winter King, and Taylor, his changeling mate, have stolen my heart. Lily Archer’s incredible storytelling has made me a huge fan. I can’t wait for more! 4.5 stars
I loved this so much! They’re on this incredible journey all while still learning about each other along with still learning Taylor’s background. So many twists and turns. This book really kept me on my toes. The audio book I think makes this series even better.
The narrators in this series have really impressed me with the different voices and accents they do for all of the characters. MacKenzie and Shane are such an incredibly talented duo and just the perfect voice actors for this series.
These books get better and better with each addition to the series!!!
Bite of Winter (Fae’s Captive Book 3) Kindle Edition
by Lily Archer (Author)
I borrowed this book via the Kindle Unlimited program and leaving a voluntary review.
What a delicious throwback to a Fae/Paranormal romance of yesteryear! This third book of the Fae’s Captive series brings Leander and his Changeling mate Taylor farther into the Fae Realm.
Our first strop is the underground kingdom of the Vundi. The Vundi have fled the destruction of the Plains after the Great War. Underground, they have built their own home, bringing soil to grow plants. But the crops are dying! Some believe that only turning Taylor over to the King Beyond the Mountains will save them. Taylor, on the other hand, believes she can use her science to save them.
The story continues, with the narration flipping between Taylor and Leander in the first person. This allows us to roll up and enjoy the story and the tension growing between them as Leander tries to keep his Feral at bay and Taylor tries to overcome her natural shyness.
We also learn more about Taylor’s past and about Ferals. We meet interesting characters, including a unicorn that even Deadpool would love
The dialogue that Ms. Archer gives us is at times hysterical and others so sweetly romantic, your teeth will ache.
What a fun book to read! And what an amazing world to visit.

Well that was unexpected! Taylor is always getting into complicated trouble! This has been a fun series! But I think Lily Archer is going to have to keep cranking out volumes in this serial if she wants a true novel. It doesn’t seem to be a problem though because she has got a knack for twists and world building!
Bite of Winter by Lily Archer is book Three in the Fae’s Captive Series. This continues the story of Taylor and Leander, so you should read the previous books ‘Fae’s Captive’ and ‘Road To Winter’ to fully enjoy this one. This book picks up where we left off in the last one. Where Taylor and Leander where just coming to terms with each other but now they have been pulled apart.
This series is several quick read that continue their story and makes you want more from them.
This is book 3 out of 4 in the Fae’s Captive series which is Taylor & Leander’s story. Each book is a cliffhanger, and you’ll need to read the books in order to follow the story. I’m not usually much of a cliffhanger kind of reader. I’ll usually wait until the whole book/storyline is complete and then read it all at once. But this story is just SO GOOD! I’m willing to forgo my usual wait and read at once, to keep up with the story, the characters, as well as in the world of the Fae. Such a good story, Lily Archer has created a fun new world to get lost in (for a bit) along with interesting characters and an original storyline to follow. Really looking forward to Book 4 as well as the books of other characters from this series. Clear of grammar errors/typos.
Lily Archer is killing me! This was book 3 in the Fae’s Captive series and by far the best one yet. It seems to only get better and better as the story progresses. As I have said before about her work, the story line is amazing and the world building is one of the best I have had the pleasure of reading. Archer paints such vivid details that you feel like you could be right there with the characters. I really enjoyed going on this journey and I don’t want it to end but I am going crazy after being left with ANOTHER CLIFFHANGER! This Story has it all from humor that had me laughing so hard (seriously the unicorn scene, how do you come up with things like that) to the raw passion that unfolds between Leander and Taylor. I can’t wait until book 4 and will count down the days until I can find out what will happen next.
