An “uproarious” shifter romance with “intensely satisfying chemistry between the leads” from the New York Times-bestselling author (Publishers Weekly). Livy Kowalski has no time for idiots. When you shapeshift into a honey badger, getting through life’s irritants is a finely honed skill. Until she gets stuck housing her nutso cousin and dealing with her dad’s untimely and unexplained demise. … dad’s untimely and unexplained demise.
That’s where Vic Barinov comes in–or his house does. Vic can’t step outside without coming back to find Livy devouring his honey stash and getting the TV remote sticky. It gets his animal instincts all riled up. But he’ll have to woo her at high speed: all hell is breaking loose, and Livy is leading the charge…
“Erotically charged…Laurenston builds up her world with a sprawling cast of memorable characters and their over-the-top antics, featuring everything from bear-only towns with Renaissance Faires to shifter roller derby…delightfully zany.”—Publishers Weekly

4 stars – It was really good
Livy Kowalski is dealing with her dad’s shocking death, her crazy family, and the lack of motivation for her career. She finds herself only relaxing when she is in Vic Barinov’s house eating all of his honey. The more time she spends with Vic though the more she realizes she likes him.
I love the honey badgers! They are crazy and I couldn’t get enough of them. Livy is different from her criminal family but she knows she can count on them to find her fathers killer. I liked that she was struggling with her career and passion in photography because that is a very common thing for artists to go through. It made her more real and relatable.
Vic was a tiger-bear hybrid who I instantly loved. He was sweet with Livy and understood her better than anyone. He never pushed her to talk about her problems and let her work through things at her own pace. I also really liked his family. They were supportive and slightly crazy, which I really liked.
This story also concludes the search for Whitlan and the shifter hunter. I enjoyed this story arc throughout this series and enjoyed how it ended. Honey badgers are mean and they know how to get revenge. I can’t wait to reread the next series because it is all about the honey badgers and I need more stories with them.
I really love her writing and her characters. They are witty and never fail to make me laugh out loud.
I did not think that the author would create a female equivalent of Bo Novikov. Isn’t one overly irascible shifter enough for this series? Apparently not, and thank you to the author for creating a character who is as artistic as Kyle Jean-Louis Parker but as strong at standing up for herself as Dee Smith with the touchiness and reactive physical fury of Bo Novikov, along with the families (on both of Olivia’s sides) who make the production of such a small bundle of Attitude so reasonable. Combine all of these touchy troublemakers with a good reason to make trouble, and Look Out, World! Here comes Livy Kowalski!!!!
Do yourself a favor and read any of Ms Laurenston’s books
I love this whole series!
Another convoluted but well written story that has so much going on. Just a real pity no more books have been written in this entertaining series.
A really interesting read but once again there is so much going on in this book that a review can only skim the surface. Russian mobsters, Russian wolf packs, Honey Badger thieves and forgers, debts owed and repayed.
We met Livy in the previous book, she is the best friend of Antonella.
Olivia (Livy) is a honey badger from a big crime family but she works as a photographer. She has no time for people fools or idiots and prefers her own company. When she finds her father murdered and stuffed it starts a chain reaction that goes half way around the world.
Vic is a bounty hunter, of sorts, he is also ex CIA and was also in the previous book. He and Livy formed a friendship in that book and in this book that evolves into a lot more.
These two are so alike in there dislike of crowds and they meshed so well, it was lovely.
Loved his parents, quirky people and his interactions with Novikov were so funny.
Another slow build up relationship which I enjoyed, sometimes this instamate thing gets boring.
I cannot go into all that happens but we once again have some of the other characters we know from this series in this book plus we get to meet Livy’s VERY dysfunctional family.
Hate the BPC for knowing and protecting Whitlan due to Chumakov. They knew what was going on which allowed Livy to get badly hurt.
I was also very surprised and disappointed in Niles and the Groups actions, or NON actions, in relation to Whitlan. Just loved Dee-Ann scaring the s**t out of Niles for that fact.
Really glad Whitlan got his just deserts and loved that it was Eggie who did it. Justice has been served and it was even better that Great Aunt Li Li took out Chumakov, No Mess, No Fuss.
This can be read as a standalone but you will have more enjoyment if you have read the rest of the series.
Still good the second time around.
The great story and fun to read.
Honey badgers for the win!
Livy is a honey badger shifter and a photographer. She’s beautiful, sarcastic, and mean. Vic is a Russian bear/tiger shifter and finds awol criminals. He hires Livy to help sometimes and this time they are hunting a full human who captures shifters and hunts and kills them. Livy breaks into the man’s daughter apartment. What she finds almost destroys her…her father stuffed. Livy is determined to take the man down and anyone who helped him and Vic is helping her. Being in close contact, Livy and Vic end up in bed together and the sex is out of this world. Between hiding from killers and looking for the human, they find love.
I absolutely loved this story!!!! It cracked me up. I haven’t read a paranormal story that I loved as much as this one. Livy is badass and not a people person. Vic is handsome and not fond of crowds. They are perfect together.
LOVE anything by Shelly Laurenston! Amazing series (pride and badgers)
Great book
It was hilarious.
Like potato chips once you read this book you won’t be able to stop at just one Shelley Laurenston book, you will have to have them all. I know, I wait and troll looking every day in the hopes that she has a new book coming out soon that I can reserve so that I can own it as soon as it comes available. She is one of only two authors I collect like that.
One of my favorite paranormal authors!
Loved this book it. Was laugh out loud funny
