This fast-paced and action-packed suspense thriller introduces us to Special Forces Sergeant John Bishop, decorated war hero, and nephew of crime boss, Gonzalo Valdez. After returning home from Afghanistan John’s hopes for a peaceful future are quickly shattered when he is catapulted back into the global war on terror through a succession of life-threatening events and corrupt intrigue. He … a succession of life-threatening events and corrupt intrigue. He battles against terrorist operatives in New York, a powerful Afghan warlord, and a psychopathic billionaire with powerful White House connections. When John’s uncle gets involved, he proceeds to treat John’s enemies to a bitter taste of mob vengeance. From that point on the ride speeds up and the reader will have to hold on for dear life. This is a thriller not to be matched for intensity and breathless excitement—not for the faint-hearted.

interesting until the end
This book was a really fun read. It moves really fast all over the world and ties together a number of different plot lines all at the very end. Warning, some of the scenes depicted in the book are quite graphic, which I don’t mind, but I think others might. Bishop is truly a human superhero who’s skills and luck haven’t run out yet. By the end of this book you will want to keep reading the series and see what happens next, there are a lot of people who still want him dead.
Good action sequences but horrible dialogue. Too many convenient coincidences and happy circumstances. I was entertained and finished it but did wince more than a few times at the corny dialogue.
Great book! Couldn’t put it down!
When I read a book, I want to be entertained like in the movies. Guess I am old fashioned, but I prefer a hero/heroine to kick a– the bad guys. I am not bothered by a few grammatical/spelling mistakes, as long as they don’t disrupt the reading. This book was above expectations. I was a fan of Tom Clancy, but his books did require me to take notes to keep track of all the characters—do NOT like doing that, and if reviewers say there are too many characters, I will pass on the book. This book had several characters, but they flowed easily so it was not a problem at all. This book was a quick read and hard to put down until I finished. I am looking forward to the sequel—Bishop’s Law, and am disappointed it is not yet available. Five Stars for me!!
Great Read
Thoughtful and kept my attention till the end
Very real. Makes you think about things
Lots of action along with Good guys and Bad guys. Shoot them and beat them up type of book
Can’t wait for the next one!
A little in concievable forsomeone who now is a small town boy, but after my experiences in younger years in New Orleans and Detroit, probably right on.
Really enjoyed it!
Bishop’s War is definitely action packed, and you never know where the threat is going to come and attack next. John Bishop was a highly honored war hero, a special op, green beret, a fighting machine, that was honed to natural hear, feel and map out where his enemy was and had men, friends that were just as amazing, and they worked together like a precision machine. John had been hurt during his last mission, and had decided it was time to go home, and to his girl, Maria, that it was time to settle down. John’s homecoming did not go as one would think, and leaving the service is not coming to a end, but taking a different twist and turn. This story takes us to a depth we could never dream of happening in our life. The threat to John’s life and to his family makes you wonder how could anyone ever survive, let alone have any ounce of normalcy in their life. Be prepared to hold your breathe and hang to the edge of your seat.
