I enjoyed Bishop’s Queen. There was a good mystery and I liked Evan and Isla’s second chance love story. I’m really looking forward to Ellis’s story next!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley.
Bishop’s Queen by Katie Reus
2nd book in the Endgame trilogy. Romantic suspense. For completely understandable arc, this book is best read after the first.
After a near fatal accident and permanent scars, Evan pushed Isla away. He didn’t want her pity. He believes it was his fault that her father was killed.
Isla is done crying over Evan. When her life is in danger from an unknown enemy, Evan is determined to protect her. Then the chemistry is just too strong to be ignored between them.
Can she forgive him for breaking her heart?
Action and suspense. Sex and forgiveness. Can they find the enemy?
I don’t know that I would have forgiven Evan as quickly as Isla does. (Not a spoiler, happens fairly early in the book.) She loves him though so has no real defenses where he is concerned. I do like her openness and unwillingness to play games. Evan show his protectiveness and “mine” mentality but I was disappointed I didn’t see as much regret and undeniable love for Isla.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy for sharing.
After the bombing that killed her dad Evan was refusing to see her. She had her Dad’s company to run. She was getting by keeping busy until someone tried to grab her. Evan realized she was his to protect and love. Now he just needed to keep her safe and convince her that he really did love her
Had already read the first one so knew this one would be good too. A really good read.
I love this book I. Fact I read all 3 books and they r worth reading.. couldn’t wait for each one to come out.

Oh my goodness this book is so good! I so enjoyed Evan and Isla’s journey back to each other. This story has great characters and a great plot full of twists and turns. The love and passion between Evan and Isla is hot, steamy and soul deep.
When it comes to romantic suspense stories, Katie Reus is one of the best. There are so many great things to say about “Bishop’s Queen”, and if this is your genre, you will want to start turning those pages asap. It is the second book in the ‘Endgame Trilogy’, but it’s still a standalone read and keeps the reader in suspense to see what is in store for Evan and Isla’s HEA. **I would like to thank NetGalley and KR Press,LLC for gifting me “Bishop’s Queen” My review is based on my reading and is voluntary** 5 Stars!
This book is even better than the first. I kept guessing who’d done it and it is a mystery until almost the end. This book is thrilling, twisted has beautiful people and I could not put it down. And I want to read the 3rd book now please I can’t wait . It is easy to read, there is love and tears and suspense and everything you want. Katie Reus did great with this book.
This was a really great story from beginning to end.I loved the main characters from the onset of the story Evan and Isla.
The story was filled with intrigue and suspense the entire time and kept you turning the pages to the very end.The story started off with a bang and a whole lot of heartache and sadness.
Evan was a man swimming in guilt and heartache and the misery of his own making. Isla was suffering from the loss of both Evan and her fathers death and unbelievable heartache from the loss of her man.
This was one emotional tale and Evan and Isla tried to find their way back to one another. The mystery surrounding them is not helping the situation but, it gives Evan the in to wright the wrongs he did to the women he love most of all.
It was clearly evident that these two belonged together and their chemistry was off the charts but, one thing for sure that were destined for one another. This couple were totally hot together and their love for one another quite endearing.
This story had a great cast of characters and we loved them all.We really love it when you get to connect with the characters you are reading about and we did just that.I am really enjoying this series and can’t wait to read the next in the series.
Overall this was a great romantic suspense read for us.
I love all of Katie’s books and this was no exception. I was a little upset with Evan but also understood that he had to deal with his issues before he could be whole and offer the best of himself to Isla. The danger that Isla faced was enough of a catalyst to get Evan moving in the right direction. That danger could also take Isla from him. Could Evan get Isla to trust him to keep her safe and also not to hurt her again?
Bishop’s Queen by Katie Reus is book Two in the Endgame Trilogy Series. This is the story of Isla MacDonald and Evan Bishop. I have read the previous book which added to my enjoyment of this one but I do feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Evan was said to have it all but a bomb that was to kill him ended up disfiguring him making him go into hiding and leaving the Isla the women he loved behind. Evan also blames himself for Isla’s father death who died in the explosion which adds to his misery. Isla tired to get Evan back but he isn’t letting go of the pain that he has. When she steps up to try to take over her father’s work it ends up putting her life in danger that brings Evan out of hiding to protect Isla as her fiancé / body guard. Enjoyed their story and this series.
Isla has spent the past two months trying to move on professionally and personally—having more success professionally. Evan Bishop is not a man to get “over” quickly—she’s still in love with the man even though he’s not spoken to her since the day he woke from the coma.
Until Evan finally wakes up and realizes just what he’s thrown away due to his own stubbornness. He pushed the perfect woman, the woman he loves, out of his life just when he needed her most.
Can he convince her to trust him again, to risk her heart again. Because he wants it all with her—always did—and he’s going to show her with his actions not just his words. And now he’ll stop at nothing to get her back. Especially now that her life is in danger.
Wowza, I’d been rooting for Isla and Evan to reconnect since meeting them ever so briefly in Bishop’s Knight, and I loved getting deeper into their romance in Bishop’s Queen. And, whoa, is it a romance for the ages!
I love them together—their love for each other is evident in every word, every action. I love how they clear the air, how they finally decide to make a go of things . . . All while trying to figure out who’s sabotaging Isla’s company and threatening her life. This is romantic suspense at its finest and I cannot wait to see how this excellent Endgame Trilogy ends with Bishop’s Endgame. ~ Missy, 4.5 stars
This is the second book of the trilogy and it doesn’t disappoint. We met the Bishop family in book one, Bishop’s Knight. Evan Bishop had it all. A building family business, a loving family, a beautiful fiancee. But then someone tried to destroy it all in one nightmare. He almost lost his life and couldn’t be a burden to the woman he was supposed to marry. He was responsible, or so he thought, for her losing her father and almost the entire business. Lots of parallel stories are going on and you really have to start at the beginning to follow along.
I always love series, where you get invested in the family or the characters and continue to watch them change and grow. Katie Reus does this very well and the Endgame trilogy is another winner.
Bishop’s Queen by Katie Reus
Endgame Trilogy #2
Two months apart doesn’t seem to have quenched the flame that burns between Evan Bishop and Isla Mac Donald. He may have broken off with his fiance and she may have tried to put the relationship behind her but when they see one another again…what will happen?
Isla is set on making deals go through that her father had set in play before he was killed in a bomb blast. For the past two months she has been working hard to achieve that goal. Evan has been working on overcoming the injuries he sustained in that same bomb blast and also trying to forget Isla. Well, the two do NOT forget one another and in this book soon find there is someone behind mysterious happenings at Isla’s business and in her life. Evan steps in to keep her safe and help solve the mystery and of course, proximity to one another and time together soon leads them back to fanning the embers that were only sleeping while they were apart.
The mystery is eventually solved and the two do move on to their HEA ending as the final book in the series is set up that will deal with Ellis, the brother of Evie and Evan, who has been missing after being accused of something heinous.
Did I enjoy this book? Not as much as the first book
Why? It was less dramatic and more of a second chance romance AND I didn’t feel Isla made Evan grovel enough.
Do I want to read book three in the series? Yes
Why? I want to find out where Ellis has been and what his story is.
What else? I am curious about Geno Conti and would LOVE a book about him 😉
Thank you to NetGalley and InkSlinger PR for the ARC – This is my honest review.
3-4 Stars
This is book 2 in the Endgame Trilogy and I would absolutely read book 1 before reading this one or you will be confused about events that happened in that one that lead into this one. We saw snippets of Evan’s accident and how he handled it along with his relationship with Isla. Now months later we get their full story. Evan has secluded himself since the accident, not only from people that he cares about but from the world on a whole. After Evan throws her out of his life, Isla is just trying to get through a day at a time. And trying to go on with her life while realizing that he truly doesn’t want her in his any longer. So she tries to honor her father’s by pushing through the last deal he was trying to make and then she plans to move on. But when someone tries to kill her, it pushes Evan to protect her. But it also pushed him to confront his own issues about the accident and realize that he will never stop loving Isla.
This was a beautifully written story that pushes all my emotional buttons. Evan has so many things that he is dealing with because of the accident that he pushes everyone away, and when he finally talks about it-it’s a tear jerker. Isla not only dealt with the death of her father basically alone but had to deal with losing Evan as well, and that definitely made me want to cry. The fact that she has such a capacity of forgiveness just shows how beautiful a soul she really is. Because how many people can truly forgive someone? I loved this one!! Every minute of it! Now I am impatient for the last book because I really need to know what happened with that brother!
I feel like at this point I could just say that this is a Katie Reus romantic suspense book and I loved it! It’s no secret she’s one of my automatic 1-click authors. And to date, none of her books have been a bust in my opinion. So, I feel pretty safe in saying that it’s really hard to go wrong with a book by this author.
Bishop’s Queen is book two in the Endgame Trilogy that revolves around the Bishop siblings. While it can be read as a standalone, I’m kind of a series junkie and when it comes to a series by one of my favorite authors, I’m always going to recommend you read the previous books. And book one, Bishop’s Knight, was a great read, too!
Evan Bishop feels so much survivor’s guilt over the bombing that killed his now ex-fiance’s father. Not only was it his fault (in his mind) that her father was killed, now he’s so scarred he can’t make her stay with him out of pity so he pushed her away. All the way away. Isla MacDonald has been hit with a double tragedy. All at once she’s lost her father and her fiance. Now she’s just trying to move on with her life and finish the deal her father had started. But when it becomes obvious her life is in jeopardy, Evan rushes to the rescue. Will it be enough to prove to Evan he and Isla were meant to be together, or will he walk away from her once again?
NICUnurse’s Rating: I feel like I’m just going to keep repeating myself so I’ll make this short and sweet. If you’re a romantic suspense fan, you need to read these two books and you need to read them now!
I give Bishop’s Queen by Katie Reus 4.75 out of 5 stars!
If I’m looking for an excellent romantic suspense, I need look no further than this author. She nails it every single time and the Endgame Trilogy is no exception. This is the second book in this series and can be read as a standalone, but I would suggest reading Bishop’s Knight first to get the full impact of the storyline and plot. I love these characters — strong, alpha males and independent, smart female leads that when they get together create combustible chemistry. My heart ached for Isla in Book #1 so I was anxiously waiting to read her and Evan’s second chance in this book. Bishop’s Queen had everything I’ve come to expect from Katie Reus and more — excellent 5+ star read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
4.25stars–BISHOP’S QUEEN is the second instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult ENDGAME erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on the Bishop siblings-Evie, Evan and Ellis Bishop. This is thirty-eight year old, businessman and former Marine Evan Bishop, and twenty-eight year old, Isla McDonald’s storyline. BISHOP’S QUEEN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s Red Stone Security series.
Told from three third person perspectives including Evan and Isla BISHOP’S QUEEN picks up immediately after the events of book one Bishop’s Knight, and follows the rebuilding relationship between thirty-eight year old, businessman and former Marine Evan Bishop, and twenty-eight year old, Isla McDonald. Months earlier a bomb killed Isla McDonald’s father and seriously injured the man that she loved but in the ensuing months, Evan Bishop pushed Isla McDonald out of his life believing he was responsible for her father’s death. Fast forward to present day wherein Isla has taken over her father’s business, and in doing so, has become the target of an unknown stalker. Still in love with Isla McDonald, Evan becomes guardian and protector of our story line heroine. What ensues is the second chance romance between Isla and Evan, and the potential fall-out as Isla’s stalker is intent on destroying her life, along with the lives of anyone who interferes
Evan Bishop is scarred both inside and out, and in this our hero struggles with his place in Isla McDonald’s life. Unable to come to terms with the bombing, at his building, that took the life of his fiancee’s father business magnate Douglas McDonald, Evan battles between head and heart believing he was unable to protect the woman he loved. Isla McDonald never wanted to take over the family business but her father’s death forced our heroine to become CEO and boss of a company she had been hoping to leave, a company that would become ground zero for the attack against her life.
The relationship between Evan and Isla is one of second chances; a rebuilding romance between two people torn apart by jealousy and betrayal; vengeance and madness. Evan Bishop has never stopped loving Isla McDonald, and with new threats against her life, Evan becomes both protector and lover to the woman with whom he wanted to spend the rest of his life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are re-introduced to Evan’s sister Evie and her husband Dylan Blackwood (Bishop’s Knight #1), as well as Detective Carlito Duarte. The reader is introduced to businessman Geno Conti; head of security Logan Masters; senior executive Madeleine, and IT specialist Oliver Mulaney, and Isla’s mother Sophia McDonald. Evan’s brother, DEA Agent Ellis Bishop having been framed for a murder he did not commit, remains on the run-his story is next in the final instalment-Bishop’s Endgame.
BISHOP’S QUEEN is a story of one man’s obsession taken too far; of one couple’s fight for their relationship and love. The character driven premise is intriguing and engaging; the characters are stubborn, captivating and determined; the romance is provocative and intense. A great instalment in Katie Reus ENDGAME Trilogy.
When book one left off, Evan was badly injured in the bombing that killed Isla’s father and refusing to have anything to do with Isla. His misplaced guilt consumed him to the point of calling off their engagement. Bishop’s Queen picks up two months after the bombing, with both Isla and Evan still floating on an island of denial and struggling to move forward from one another. However, when Isla’s life is on the line, Evan swallows his pride and realizes just how much of a fool he has been. And may I just say, Evan grovels very well…and Isla doesn’t just accept him back;)
I loved Evan and Isla! They had a rocky patch…okay more than rocky and Evan deserved what Isla dishes out..but it was obvious they were meant to be together. And the suspense portions! Very well done. Even though I had my suspicions midway, I still thought it was one person, then flipped to another, missing who the villain really was until a couple of scenes before the reveal.
Bishop’s Queen can be read by itself, but considering Ellis’s story has yet to be told (I can’t wait to see where this storyline ends up!) I would recommend reading the first book to get a pulse on the Bishop family as a whole.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and this is my honest review.
