Evie is a bit of a Houdini. She can get herself into all manner of places where she should not be. Comes in very handy when you work for Uncle Sam. But after an op is blown she lands back on her own doorstep, amidst a real family emergency. One brother has been seriously injured and another is on the run. Evie knows her brother is not guilty of what he is accused of and knows that he has enough know-who to evade capture until he’s ready to be found.
Dylan was stunned when Evie walked out of his life a year ago and further amazed when she turns up at his home, bleeding all over the place! He knew there was more to her than the persona she projected but he never expected this. But danger and Evie now go hand in hand and she soon regrets pulling him into her mess. She left him once because she didn’t want to make their relationship be based on a lie but Dylan is ready for Evie this time…he has no intention of letting her go this time.
Evie and Dylan are deluding themselves if they think they can keep things platonic this time round – the sparks are fair flying and their chemistry is off the charts. An for a man who isn’t interested in rekindling the flames, Dylan sure has a hard time letting her go.
betrayal, suspense, treachery, treason and plenty of family drama all mix with a tightly wound thriller. Fast-paced and full of chemistry and great characters.

First book in an intriguing new series by Katie Reus. While the Bishop siblings may come from money, they have all worked hard at their chosen professions. Evie has worked black ops in the CIA, but has burned out and come home after her one brother, Evan ends up in the hospital, a survivor of a bombing and her other brother, Ellis, who works for DEA has been set up and is in hiding. When one of her friends and ex colleague, Samara, comes to her door after being shot, Evie know of only one person that she can go to for sanctuary, her ex, Dylan Blackwood. Even though she turned down his marriage proposal and disappeared from his life without a real explanation, he takes them into his well guarded home. Being ex military, extremely wealthy, and still in love with her, he provides not only sanctuary, but assistance in helping Samara and Evie find out who is after them. Action packed page turner with cleverly written plot, full of twists and turns and skillfully developed characters.

Bishop’s Knight is the first book in the Endgame Trilogy by Katie Reus. After years working undercover for the CIA Evie Bishop is burned out. She returns home only to find one brother in a coma and the other on the run, suspected of the murder of his partner at the DEA. When a former colleague turns up on her doorstep bleeding from a gunshot wound and the news that a previous op they’d both worked on might be coming back to bite them she’s left reeling. With her family already under pressure from the problems with her brothers the only person Evie can turn to is her ex – Dylan Blackwood – but after turning down his proposal a year before will he be willing to help her?
This is the first time I’ve been in on the ground floor of a new Katie Reus series so to speak and I’ve got to say it has got off to one hell of a start. Evie is my kind of heroine, a girl who can stand on her own two feet but isn’t afraid to accept help albeit reluctantly as instinct makes her want to protect those she loves. Dylan is the love of her life but after lying to him, she doesn’t feel that she deserves him. Thankfully he’s not the kind of man to take no for an answer and not even the little matter of assassins will deter him.
I love how this author writes romantic suspense with plots that grab your attention from the start and somehow manages to create characters that leave you wanting to read more about them even once you’ve finished their book. Thankfully she does write series so that takes care of that problem. Be warned this story does jump a few times between the past and the present which I know some readers don’t like but it is clearly marked and is necessary to the plot. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Bishop’s Knight by Katie Reus
Endgame Trilogy #1
Action-packed from beginning to end this book had me hooked and unwilling to put it down till I had finished it! It lays the groundwork for the books to follow and was absolutely great in its own right.
What I liked:
* Evie: She was a tough cookie with a heart of gold. She loved her family, job, friends and…Dylan
* Dylan: Oh my…a hunk and a half wonderful book boyfriend!
* All of it from beginning to end! Plot, pacing, romance…all of it!
What I didn’t like:
* The bad guy – so thankful he got his comeuppance!
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I like to read more in this series? Without a doubt
Will I read more by this author? Definitely!
Thank you to NetGalley and KR Press, LLC for the ARC – This is my honest review.
5 Stars
I love all of Katie’s books and this is no exception. Evie’s book is the first of this series and I was hooked from the beginning and wishing the others in the series were already available. There’s action, suspense, and great chemistry between Evie and Dylan. If you enjoy all of these, you won’t be disappointed.
This is the first installment in the Endgame Trilogy and I love this!! This is an automatic one-click author for me and I have loved everything I’ve ever read by her so it didn’t come as a surprise to me that I fell in love with this series from page one.
This author has the incredible ability to create a build up that’s so intense that it’s guaranteed to have you wanting to finish the entire book in one sitting and I was definitely refusing to put this one down until I was finished! I loved reading Dylan and Evie’s story and these two had quite a bit of history together, not all of it good. They’ve been through a lot and are now being given a second chance that Dylan doesn’t plan on wasting since he’s not going to let her go this time. I felt bad that Evie had felt like she had no other choice but to break Dylan’s heart the first time around given the crappy circumstances they ended up in and I was honestly glad to see them get a chance for a do over since I felt that they deserved it.
There’s enough danger, suspense and intrigue to keep you on the edge of your seat up until the very last page and I loved the fact that this kept me guessing right up until the very end! I can’t wait for the next story to release and hope I don’t have to wait too long since I’m not very patient!
I highly recommend reading this book and everything written by this author.

Terrific action and adventure in this first story in the new Endgame trilogy from this fantastic author. This has all the alphabet agencies involved with several storylines surrounding the Bishop siblings. The main focus is on the mystery of who’s killing operatives with Evie Bishop front and center. I love this fabulous heroine as a kickass CIA operative and her equally talented sidekick, Samara. These two take on the bad guys with thrilling cunning and skill. And when they get in a jam Evie turns to her former flame, the extremely hunky, Dylan. The former military/billionaire is yummy! But things ended badly between the two and Evie needs to come clean if she wants a second chance with Dylan. The chemistry between these two is steamy and undeniable. But first Dylan has to helps Evie stay alive while hunting the culprit. The Bishop family is in the mix with one of Evie’s brothers on the run and the other involved in a tragedy. Sets up for things to come in this series. A fast-moving spy mystery and a sizzling second-chance romance. What more do you need? Just fantastic! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
Bishop’s Knight by Katie Reus is the First book in the Endgame Trilogy. This is the story of Dylan Blackwood and Evie Bishop.
Dylan and Evie once were involved so much so that Dylan wanted to marry her but Evie had to walk away due to her job as a CIA agent that Dylan doesn’t really know about. Now in their present day Evie has returned home due to being burnt out but finds that she has a brother on the run, one in a coma and a friend that has been hurt. With no where to turn but to Dylan for help she ends up on his door. Of course Dylan gonna help her but he wants something from her that he always wanted…her.
Loved their exciting story and can’t wait for more from this author!!!
At first, he was just an asset, someone to use to get to the person she needed to meet. Then, he became someone important to her, someone she could love. What if he finds out that she lied to him? Evie Bishop is a CIA operative and it’s vital that she completes the mission. Dylan Blackwood is a wealthy and amazing man and when her good friend is shot, he is the only one that she knows can help her. Evie’s life is in turmoil. Her one brother, Ellis, has been framed for murder and is on the run while her other brother, Evan, lies in a coma after being injured in an explosion. Someone is killing off the members of her team and she needs to find out who and put them out of business. An exciting and thrilling romantic suspense as Dylan soon realizes that this time, he will do everything he can to keep Evie in his life and protect her. I so enjoy reading about strong female characters that handle the danger when threatened. This is the first book in the “End Game” series and I look forward to the next two books. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)
Breath-taking
Heart-stopping
Intriguing
Imaginative
Awe-inspiring action
Just a few words to quickly sum up Evie and Dylan… Their story was off the charts amazing.
Edge of my seat thrilling page-turner I couldn’t put down I binge read it in a couple of hours it was just that good.
I have to say I love Samara she is bad-ass hilarious and a true friend to have at your back even if she is weirdly crazy…lol
Evie is a stunningly strong character with a few vulnerable points she doesn’t show often except when it comes to Dylan the guy she never meant to fall for…
Dylan is frustratingly male…lol I can see him and Evie having a long life together but I predict he may have early onset grey hair…lol
What a great start to Katie Reus’ Endgame Trilogy! This one had the perfect blend of romance and suspense as well as being a second chance romance, which is one of my favorite tropes!
I loved both Evie and Dylan and thought they made the perfect couple. Evie is a kick-a$$ heroine who can take care of herself, but she also knows how to ask for and accept help. She’s loyal, especially to her family, and even though her job forces her to compartmentalize her feelings, she does feel deeply. Dylan was such a great matter-of-fact partner for Evie who has some pretty bad-s$$ skills of his own. She ran off after his marriage proposal, and once she shows up on his doorstep he doesn’t think twice about calling her out about her actions…but he also doesn’t think twice about helping her and ensuring she is safe.
One thing I have enjoyed in every Katie Reus book is that she presents a plot that is easy to follow but still allows for some mystery along the way as to how things are going to play out. Even though there are a lot of things going on in a short time, her writing style and voice make it easy to get caught up in the characters and story, making this an easy read.
This is part of a trilogy, but it is a complete standalone that sets up the next two books, which will focus on Evie’s brothers. There is also a cross-over character to her Red Stone Security series (which if you haven’t picked these up I would also recommend!), which is something I always love when an author does.
This one deserves a spot on anyone’s TBR!
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book I received from the author.
I always like the first book in a new series because it sets the tone for the rest of the series and gives me a glimpse of the other characters that will be coming. And the author is really going to have her work cut out of her to outdo this book!
BISHOP’S KNIGHT is chock full of intrigue, danger, adventure, and passion. Dylan and Evie are explosive together! They match each other and are perfect for the other. Evie broke it off with him to protect him, but there is no stopping what is meant to be. Dylan definitely takes what is thrown at him and runs with it and also shows that he is more than willing to go the length for Evie, no matter what.
There are a number of twists and turns in this that I didn’t expect to come and really liked how the author made them play out. The end wasn’t obvious which was really nice and kept the suspense up throughout the book. And the setup for the next two books in the series was really good. I will say that I think the oldest brothers book is going to be heartbreaking, but his heroine (who I hope stays the heroine) is going to make the hero crawl before she can forgive him (he is being a bit of an idiot right now). And I am totally intrigued by the other brothers story. I want to know what is going to happen!!
Overall, great book with an awesome storyline and action packed scene with intrigue aplenty! This book sets a high bar for the rest of the series but I have a feeling that the author is more than ready to take on the challenge! So two high thumbs up and happy reading!
Incredible beginning to a new series!!! I always love new characters and beginnings that I know are going to grow into new worlds. This is definitely one of those books.
The Bishop’s are a family struggling. Not financially but if trouble comes in three’s, they are all there. This is Evie’s story.
Evie Bishop is a strong woman with one weakness…and his name is Dylan Blackwood. She had to use him as a target for a CIA op but she fell in love. Unfortunately she wasn’t in a position to make long term plans. And now she is back and needs his help.
We are going to get the Bishop brothers stories in the future and I can’t wait!!!!! Start this now and you will be ready!!!!!!
It was amazing.
5.0 out of 5 starsAmazing start to a new series.

I knew this would be a great book because, that is the only kind of book that this talented author writes. But, I b was blown away by this amazing story and since it is the first book in the series, I know that there are many more amazing stories to look forward to. Dylan and Evie were great characters. There were also numerous supporting characters that I would love to read more about. I also loved tbat one of the characters from the Red Stone Security Series made a brief appearance. That is still one of my favorite Romantic Suspense Series that I have read. I can’t wait to read what happens next.
Romantic suspense puzzles…Katie Reus writes some of the best. It will take three stories to unravel all of the troubles that have fallen on the Bishop family. Who’s targeting the Bishop family and why? former CIA operative Evie Bishop is a master at quizzing out threats like this.
Evangeline Bishop, Evie was recruited for the CIA in college and is very good at her job, but she’s had enough after her op where she fell in love with Dylan Blackwood. For the Jensen op last year she went in as herself, using her family connections to take down a human smuggler. That’s where she got reintroduced to family friend Dylan Blackwood who also made a fortune in real estate. She used him to get introduced to Rod Jensen, real estate mogul. The op was successful but she and Dylan fell in love with each other, something she has never allowed. When he asked her to marry him, she turned him down because she was returning to her undercover work and had lied to him. Six months later she’s retired and home in Miami once again trying to figure out why someone bombed her brother Evan’s office and her other brother Ellis is in hiding charged with a murder he didn’t commit.
Evan’s in a coma and his future father-in-law’s dead from the bombing. Ellis is DEA and a good guy so she knows he didn’t do it. Evie goes into action when her former teammate Samara Sousa lands on her doorstep with a gunshot wound. Their teammates from the Jensen op are coming up dead and they are both being targeted. The only place she can think of to get Samara a doctor’s care without reporting it is her former lover Dylan who has a concierge doctor available. As much as she’s torn, given how she hurt him she goes to him for help. He still loves her and comes to her aid. I came to really love Dylan. He’s so much more than he seems. He is her partner and equal in every way. He doesn’t back down from dangerous action making me wonder what he did during his military years, Reus never tells us but given his skills I would guess elite ops. Together they puzzle out who’s trying to kill her and Samara in this story. The next one will be Evan’s puzzle while the third will be Ellis’ and why he’s being framed for murder.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The first book in the Endgame Trilogy starts definitely set the bar high for the remaining books. The story dives right in. No warning, no teaser, just BAM, hold on tight.
Even though the main characters are Evie and Dylan, this book also starts the story line threads for the brothers, Ellis and Evan. Katie Reus does really well weaving in other character story lines within the main story line. Not only does it enhance the current read, there’s always just enough of a teaser that I look forward to next book with a little anticipation than normal.
This is definitely a romantic suspense, so the aura of danger is pretty much on every page. The secondary characters are just as entertaining as the main couple and sometimes outshine them. If you’ve read previous series by Katie Reus, then you’ll recognize a few of the characters she sprinkles in to help move the story along. The dialogue is witty and gritty and emotional. I became quite invested in this couple
Great start to a new series.
ARC received in exchange for honest review.
This start to a brand new romantic suspense series by the talented Katie Reus will keep you turning the pages!

Bishop’s Knight is the first book in Katie Reus’ all-new Endgame trilogy. So far my favorite series of hers is still the Red Stone Security series, but I’m really excited about this trilogy after reading book one!
Yes, I’m a romantic suspense junkie. And Katie Reus is on my auto 1-click list. To date, I have not been disappointed in any of her books. Obviously, I like some more than others, but I’d happily recommend any of them.
In Bishop’s Knight, Ms. Reus does a wonderful job developing the world surrounding the Bishop siblings as well as focusing in on Evie and Dylan’s story. And I believe it sets a very intriguing tone for the next two books. And in the end, the bad guy was not my first suspect.
Can I just be real for a minute? I know a lot of reviewers and bloggers have many book boyfriends. But there are only a few male lead characters that I’d say I’ve truly swooned over. After reading Bishop’s Knight, I absolutely swooned over Dylan. He’s made my short list! He is one of the most well-rounded heroes I’ve read in a long time. He’s mature enough to help someone who quite literally devasted him when she really needs him. He’s compassionate, fair-minded, and best of all…forgiving. Dylan is that guy that you would be happy to take home to meet your family! I adored Evie’s determination to do the right thing. Even when it meant tearing her own world apart. And together…well…let’s just say I pity the fool that messes with them next time.
NICUnurse’s Rating: This book literally kept me up until about 4 am. I knew I was going to hate my choice the next day, but I kept reading anyway. And when you treasure your sleep like I do, that’s saying a whole lot of good things right there! It’s a fast-paced, keep you guessing until the very end, page-turning read. I give Bishop’s Knight by Katie Reus 4.75 out of 5 stars!
