She’s very good at getting into places she doesn’t belong but years of working black ops has burned her out, so Evie Bishop returns home. But her return lands her right into unexpected chaos with one brother in a coma and the other in hiding and wanted for murder, so when a fellow operative from her past shows up, she turns to the one man she knows she can trust. Dylan Blackwood is stunned when he finds Evie on his doorstep covered in blood. She turned down his marriage proposal and walked out of his life, so he’ll give the help she needs even if he can’t forget her betrayal.
This powerfully explosive and thrillingly suspenseful romantic suspense starts things off with excitement and suspense and just keeps getting better. The hero and heroine have sparks flying in every direction throughout their rocky relationship as their magnetic attraction keeps getting in the way of their determination to keep things platonic this time round. Lots of emotional angst and friction round out this electrical relationship and ensures that readers really want to know how things work out between Dylan and Evie.
The plot is fast paced, non-stop excitement and packed full of suspense and startling twists and an astonishing betrayal that rocks everyone’s world. In fact the story is so suspenseful and full of head turning events including those gut wrenching ones that involve her family that Evie is kept going full out throughout the story. Once again, the author has created a fascinating world full of wonderful characters that readers easily fall for and want to visit over and over again and painting such vivid imagery that they remain glued to every last word.
“Always have a backup for your backup, was her motto. Plan A, B, all the way to Z.”
Bishop’s Knight was my introduction to Katie Reus. I was intrigued to read about a badass female doing black ops work. As I suspected, Evie Bishop has a lot of skills. She can hide in plain sight using disguises, but can she hide her feelings from Dylan Blackwood when she shows up unannounced on his doorstep after breaking his heart?
The chemistry between Dylan and Evie is intense. When they come face to face after being apart for months there’s no denying the connection is still there. But, will he be able to forgive her once he learns the truth? In the meantime, how thrilling it was for me as he got his first taste of her ‘special skills’ and realized there was a lot more to her than he thought.
I really enjoyed the suspense of this story, trying to figure out who the bad guys are and how they would catch them was exciting. I especially enjoyed that this first book in the trilogy focused on the female Bishop sibling. I got to meet her two brothers and the author did a good job of keeping me in the dark about them other than the family side of things. They are a close-knit family who depends on each other, but they also tell it like it is which leads me to believe there will be some fun banter to look forward to in the coming installments. I also enjoyed the support characters, two and four-legged, which I’m sure we’ll get to spend more time with as well.
Awesome kick butt, sassy lady, secrets, murder, mayhem, broken hearted, alpha man trying to figure out the secrets and trying not to love still. Can he keep his heart intact and help save the one he loves. Awesome new series!!!
Bishop’s Knight is the first in a thrilling new romantic suspense trilogy. This exciting tale explores what happens when you fall in love with an asset while on an op. Former CIA operative Evie Bishop is smart, sharp and still in love with real estate magnate Dylan Blackwood. When her former partner shows up with a gunshot wound Evie looks to Dylan for help. Can Dylan and Evie keep her alive and rekindle their romance? Action, intrigue and love a terrific read.
Woohoo, a new romantic suspense series by Katie Reus. What I really liked about this story is that it had a good balance of suspense and romance. Evie being the spy and Dylan an ex-military man who has gone into the private sector is a little different than most of these types of stories which sets this book apart and made it a very enjoyable read. And second chance romances, they will lure me in every time. A great beginning to the Endgame!
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.

This new trilogy is starting off in a fantastic way! The action and suspense will keep you turning pages and constantly trying to figure out who can be trusted and who cannot. Evie and Dylan are HOT and I absolutely cannot wait to get the stories for the Bishop brothers! If you are looking for a book full of intrigue, heart, mystery and heat then you will not want to put this book down once you start!

The Bishop Family is in chaos. Evie can’t believe one brother is in a coma injured in a bombing while the second is on the run accused of murder. Evie is home trying to understand what’s going on. She’s plans to use her resources to get answers. What no one knows is that she’s a retired CIA operative. I liked that Evie may seem to be a socialite with impressive family connections, but in reality she has lethal skills and worked dark ops. Suddenly her life takes a dangerous turn. Someone is trying to kill her and her former teammate. As a result she reconnects with former love, Dylan Blackwood. She broke his heart when she rejected him. I l was impressed how Dylan had her back. When they’re together the chemistry is off the charts. I understood why Evie left him but I was sorry she hurt him. He’s a great guy and a powerful partner. He’s intelligent and honorable. I was glad that Dylan is seeing the real Evie. Katie Reus has a winner with Bishop’s Knight. I liked the characters. They are a powerful and fierce. They will fight for what’s right. Dylan and Evie are both strong characters. The story is suspenseful with some unexpected twists. I wanted to know who is behind the attempted murders. Why are they trying to silence her and her friend? Miami is the perfect setting. I’m hooked on this Trilogy. I can’t wait to learn more about her brothers.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.
4.25 stars–BISHOP’S KNIGHT is the first instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult ENDGAME erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on the Bishop Siblings. This is twenty-eight year old, former CIA operative Evangeline ‘Evie’ Bishop, and thirty six year old, former US military soldier, billionaire businessman Dylan Blackwood’s story line. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s Red Stone Security series.
Told from several third person perspectives including Evie and Dylan, using present day and memories from the past, BISHOP’S KNIGHT follows the second chance romance between twenty-eight year old, former CIA operative Evangeline ‘Evie’ Bishop, and thirty-six year old, former military and billionaire businessman Dylan Blackwood. Approximately one year earlier, while on assignment CIA operative Evie Bishop fell in love with her mark, Dylan Blackwood but upon Dylan’s proposal Evie ran without looking back. Fast forward to present day wherein Evie is desperate for Dylan’s help, a desperation that brings her face to face with the man whose heart she destroyed. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship and romance between Evie and Dylan, and the potential fall-out as Evie and a group of CIA agents have been targeted by someone from their past.
Evie Bishop’s life hasn’t been easy for the past several weeks. Six months earlier she walked away from the man that she loves; her oldest brother Evan was in the hospital in a medically induced coma, and her brother Ellis was on the run, accused of killing one of his partners in the DEA. When another CIA operative comes looking for help, Evie knows of only one man who may be capable of getting the job done, the man whose heart she broke six months earlier. Dylan Blackwood could never understand why Evie ran the day he proposed but her reappearance in his life brings with it more danger and secrets than he could have ever imagined.
The relationship between Evie and Dylan is one of second chances; a rekindling romance between two people destroyed by secrets, lies and a government operation wherein meeting Dylan Blackwood, was a means to an end. Their reconnection is not without more secrets and lies but Evie knows to that forgiveness comes with grovelling and the truth. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to Evie’s brothers: Evan and his fiancée Isla, and DEA agent Ellis Bishop; Dr. Finn Kelly, and Evie’s fellow CIA operatives-analyst Benjamin Miller and Samara, Detective Carlito Duarte, security specialist and former FBI agent Leo Webster, and several other FBI, CIA and government agents.
BISHOP’S KNIGHT introduces some of the background in relationship to the lives and struggles of Bishops siblings. The premise is engaging, intriguing and inviting; the romance is seductive and steamy; the character are colorful, energetic and strong. BISHOP’S KNIGHT is a wonderful start to a new series.
Evie and Dylan’s second chance romance swept me off my feet, folks. As usual, this author captivated me with a protective, caring, good guy hero and a strong, sassy heroine worthy of him and vice versa.
Evie was the picture of a highly skilled trained agent ready to answer the call of duty at a moment’s notice. Even when her family’s world is crashing and burning around her, she’s still willing to put her neck on the line for justice and to help a friend. Dylan is a threat to her heart as she lives with regret over how things ended with them. He was there for his lady love though, even when he thought they were long over.
Fate and a bad guy ultimately end up bringing these two perfect for each other lovebirds back together, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Not surprisingly, crumbs have been dropped leading the way to two other characters getting their HEAs in future sequels. I can’t wait to see what moves these Bishop’s are going to make to win at the game of love. One in particular has a lot of kissing and making up to do, my fellow romance book loving friends, and I am so looking forward to it.

Fantastic story – can’t wait for the next installment of this trilogy! This one blew me away with all the emotion, frustration, and intensity from both major characters.
Evie Bishop, former CIA agent, turns to her almost fiancée to help her find out who is trying to kill her and another former teammate. With a brother on the run, and another in the hospital in a coma, she can’t turn to her family for help. Dylan Blackwood would do almost anything to get Evie to come back into his life and immediately provides whatever help he can when she shows up unannounced.
As they figure out the mystery and crimes around them, they also reveal more about themselves and why things didn’t work the first time around. Second chances mean so much more when they both are honest. Great HEA that leaves just enough unsaid.
I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation was promised or received for the review.
I enjoyed this story from page one to the end. Evie and Dylan have great chemistry and were so good together that you couldn’t help but root for them. The interaction between Evie and Samara made me laugh out loud, they were so fun together, it made a tense and chaotic situation bearable. The story has everything I like which including action, suspense, steam and support characters that make the story that much more interesting. This was a great first story in the Trilogy!
Whenever I pick up a book by this very talented author, I know I am going to be blown away by it. This one certainly proved that point.
Evie Bishop left the CIA a few months ago and has come home to re-group. When a CIA agent and friend comes to her front door shot and telling her that two other agents from a mission are dead, Evie seeks the help of the man she left behind. A man that at one time was her mark, and one she fell in love with.
Dylan Blackwood is a wealthy property owner whose heart was broken by Evie. But when she shows up in his house covered in blood, he doesn’t hesitate to help her.
The chemistry between these two is dynamic but secrets are still kept and the trust that was broken is hard to get back.
In the midst of all this turmoil, we get a glimpse of Evie’s two brothers. Men who are also going through life changing circumstances of their own.
The story is engaging from the first page to the last. The characters are complex and perfect in their imperfections. The story is filled with whodunit, bad guys, a hunky good guy, strong females and of course, romance. What more do you want !?!?
Another winner by this creative author.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Evie Bishop has returned home to a family in turmoil. One brother is fighting for his life and another is on the run. Then her friend shows up injured and spouting conspiracy theories that could also put Evie in danger. With nowhere else to turn, she is forced to ask her ex for help.
Dylan Blackwood has not seen Evie in six months since she broke his heart and left him. He might not believe he can trust her, but he cannot stand by and see her in danger. He is wealthy, smart, resourceful, protective, and is ex-military so does not back down from fights.
Now they are on a race to figure out who the real target is and why. There are multiple possible antagonists and hidden agendas. There is danger, suspense, and real threats. But their connection and chemistry are still there. They make a great team, but it is a precarious situation. The mystery and action build to a heart-stopping climax.
But beneath all the external chaos are their personal issues. Evie still has secrets about her former life that she has been gradually sharing with him, but the most important one might be the one thing that could make him walk away.
I really loved Dylan who I thought was the complete package. He could be refined and businesslike, passionate and romantic, and also edgy and tough. And Evie is a different kind of heroine. She is strong, confident, and brave, but cares deeply about those she lets in. I enjoyed the side characters of their friends, Samara, Finn, and Leo. But I am very interested in the other Bishops’ stories. Her brothers, Evan and Ellis are both dealing with significant challenges in this one and I cannot wait to delve more into their stories and their points of view.
I received this book for free from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
A new series by Katie Reus! This is the first book about the Bishop family, It starts with Evie Bishop who was a CIA operative. when she finds her life in chaos and people she knows and cares about are getting shot, killed and framed she turns to her ex boyfriend the one man that she loves left, to help her protect them. Dylan doesn’t know if he can ever trust her again with his heart but will do what he can to help her find out if the problems are from a past operation or something more. Great story line with plenty of suspense and action with romance in the mix to make a well rounded book. So looking forward to reading the next in the series but hate that I have to wait!!
This is a new series from author Katie Reus, possible spin-off or just character association from her ‘Red Stone Security’ series. I love these types of books, mystery, action, suspense, and sexy hot, sexy scenes. I loved this book! This is one book I could not put down! As in, I read this in one day, house work can wait!
I love a strong heroine that can hold her own, Evie Bishop did not disappoint. She’s an ex-CIA agent that gets caught up in helping her friend and CIA agent Samara, who was shot. Suspecting the attempt on Samara’s life to be a possible inside job, she turns to the one man she knows she can trust.
Dylan is an ex-Marine, now a millionaire. I love that he is a strong capable hero but not the type to be arrogant about is ability’s. I wasn’t sure how the relationship with Evie and Dylan was going to be repaired but the author did an amazing job with the story. Will Dylan be able to handle the new side of Evie?
I can’t wait to see how the rest of the series goes! Would I recommend this series to friends and family? Not just a yes but a heck YES!
***I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for an honest review via NetGalley, this is my honest opinion and has not been influenced by the author, Publishers or NetGalley in anyway.*** Thank you!
Oh yeah! Now this is what I’m talking about when I’m looking for in a great romantic suspense!
Evie has carried guilt for the last year after using Dylan to make a connection to a CIA target her group was looking to take down. She never expected to fall for him, but just reading his bio before she officially met him caused a reaction within her. Actually getting to know him meant falling in love and when he proposed, her lies and guilt overwhelmed her and she could do nothing but run.
Dylan was all in with Evie from the first moment he saw her. Their relationship was everything he didn’t know he wanted. When she rejected him he was left broken hearted and confused. Now she’s in need of help for a friend and this time he’s going to get all the answers to his questions. And then he’s going to get her.
”Knowing she was in his house, under his roof, turned him on. Everything she did turned him on. It was beyond reason.
But that was just the way it was and he was going to have to accept it. Because he didn’t think there was another woman for him other than Evie Bishop. She was his not-so-secret addiction.”
This starts off with a wild action sequence and never slows down. Evie is one kick butt heroine and I was afraid that I wouldn’t like Dylan for her because of it. But that was not the case.
”Sometimes when she looked at him, she saw the warrior looking back at her. He might have left the Marines, but the Marines hadn’t left him.”
He not only held his own, he was protective without stepping on her toes or acting as if she wasn’t fully capable. He allowed her to do her job as she saw fit, even when everything within him said to grab her up and run. I love a strong hero and Dylan proved that having the strength to let his woman do what was needed, even when it went against his own desires, made a hero even more alluring.
There are several issues going on in this story. Some are in regards to Evie’s brothers and I can’t wait to read their books. The other is a mystery that Evie and her friend are trying to solve. As they delve deeper into what’s going on, I had a suspicion of who the villain was. I was wrong. Which is often the case in this author’s stories. But the unraveling of the clues, the final plan to trap the bad guy and the resulting consequences of that plan, had my heart in my throat.
This is one adrenaline inducing read that totally enraptured me page after page. This is one of those books you’ll want to read in one sitting. Unfortunately, life royally screwed me over and I was unable to do so. In between life I was sneaking one more page or paragraph because I couldn’t let it go. So heads up, be sure you’ve got your schedule cleared and don’t answer your phone! (My biggest mistake!)
Evie Knight is (ex) CIA, but hasn’t lost any of her skills. When a former team member shows up on her doorstep claiming they are both in danger, Evie goes to Dylan Blackwood, the one person she knows will help, even if their personal relationship is a little mucked up.
Evie is a feisty little thing, with a heart of gold and an unshakeable faith in the greater good. I liked the contrast with her CIA position because it grounded why Evie does the job in the first place. I also enjoyed her family ties, and her sense of humor.
Dylan is my dream hero! He’s not only cool, calm, and mostly collected, he respects Evie and doesn’t stuff her in a corner so he can save the day. He lets her work and plays her supportive backup. He also has feelings and expresses them without losing any masculinity! Evie doesn’t have to hunt down and dig to what Dylan thinks about her.
Anyone who has read Reus knows suspense and romance go hand in hand and Bishop’s Knight is no different! The suspense comes barreling out and doesn’t stop until the end, but Dylan and Evie’s second-chance romance was like lighting a match to dry kindling. These two burned up the pages when they had their chances, leaving raw emotions all over the place!
Reus has nailed it again! Bishop’s Knight is the first book of a new trilogy (yaaaaaay!!!) and I have fallen for the three Knight siblings! I also loved the Red Stone Security cameos . I’ll be waiting on pins and needles to see what happens next!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ooh, I’ve got to say, I loved this romance thriller. What a start to this Endgame Trilogy. I’m taking a shot in the dark here in thinking we’re talking a full on Bishop sibling trilogy! I certainly hope so, that’s where my mind is going. Book 1 is all about ex CIA operative Evie Bishop as she merges past and present, (lies and deceit) with her one true love, as the drama starts to unravel in this high octane drama. Dylan Blackwood (love the name almost as much as I love the millionaire businessman himself), ex military, and ex lover to Evie, still loves her, even though she was keeping so many secrets from him, and when she comes to him for help, he still does right by her, no matter how things ended between them. Great story, great writing, lots of action and intrigue with a touch of romance. I loved it. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.
Bishop’s Knight (Endgame Trilogy #1) by Katie Reus ….What a great start to a new series…thanks to the publisher and #NetGalley for letting me preview and review this book. Evie Bishop (CIA agent…left the agency ..from a very rich family..hiding a secret) Dylan Blackwood (Very wealthy..in love with Evie ..heartbroken when she left him) There is danger, intrigue, angst, treason, some laughs, tears, steamy sex and a cute dog all getting to a HEA…but it wouldn’t be a series if Evie’s two brothers didn’t have their own problems to solve…who is next Ethan who was badly injured in a bombing at his business ..he is scarred and he refuses to see his fiancee…or will it be Ellis who is on the run framed for murder….I just know I can’t wait.
Evie is from a rich family but went into the CIA. She’s out now but her family is in trouble. Her brother is in the hospital after a bombing and her other brother is on the run for murder. Her friend comes to her with a gunshot wound and the only person she can depend on is her ex. Dylan is extremely wealthy and was heartbroken when Evie turned down his proposal. Now six months has gone by and he still can’t get her out of his head. So when she shows up, he’ll do anything to help her. Will he forgive her after he finds out he was part of the operation when they first met? Will Evie figure out who wants her dead?
New series from Ms. Reus. Sexy. Action. And suspense. Really good. Couldn’t put it down. Will leave you on the edge of your seat.
