USA TODAY BESTSELLER • Meet the Arizona Vengeance, hockey’s hottest new team. They’re burning up the ice—until a one-night-stand with the coach’s daughter freezes one player in his skates. Bishop Scott, co-captain. Not too shabby, huh? It’s all part of my fresh start with the NHL’s latest expansion team, and that means new teammates, a new coach, a new city, and a big new contract. Basically, I … big new contract. Basically, I cannot f***ing wait to show my old squad what they’re missing.
But first, I decide to check out the town before the grind begins. Turns out Arizona chicks are totally smokin’, and I’m fortunate enough to meet one who’s looking for the same thing I am: a night of anonymous, unforgettable, no-strings-attached sex.
Fast forward to the Vengeance arena. It’s the last place I expect to see her again—let alone in her own office. Then bells go off and I finally realize who this girl is: Brooke Perron. My new coach’s daughter. All of a sudden, we’re picking up right where we left off, which means our hands are all over each other. That’s when her dad—my boss—walks in. And before I can get a word out, Brooke’s introducing me as her fiancé.
Sure, she just saved my ass. So why do I get the feeling Brooke’s going to turn my world upside down? Maybe it’s because this fake relationship feels way too real. . . .
Praise for Bishop

I loved so many things about this story. It was well-paced and the characters were totally likable. Bishop and Brooke meet for a one-night stand and that’s all it’s ever mean to be, right?! I loved how Bishop was so excited to see her again that he didn’t hesitate to show her…which led to the crazy that would become their “relationship.”
Since we get to hear both sides of the story, it was cute to watch them find themselves and each other and really examine what their relationship was. I enjoyed their banter and their passion for each other – and their lives. It was a well crafted story and I can’t wait for more!!
Hockey is the only sport I follow in real life – and even then it’s not really at the NHL level – but I love that this author takes such great care in giving a real glimpse at what it’s like for the player – as well as the family. This book was really great because as I was reading I was thinking about all those Vegas Knights that had a similar experience to Bishop and his teammates just this year! That made the story so much better for me personally!!
Stand-alone series are some of my favorites because you can meet so many characters and even if you don’t know the previous stories you can enjoy the next ones, BUT I really love when I get in on the first one and can look forward to the future stories even more! Since Bishop is the first in the Arizona Vengeance series, I am super excited to continue the series with future books, though I’m disappointed that Dax isn’t next!

I loved the first book in this new hockey series. I enjoyed getting to know some of the players on this new team. Bishop and Brooke’s story was sweet as their love developed. I look forward to Erik’s book..
Forbidden fruit always tastes better! With the kick off of a new hockey series, Sawyer Bennet introduces us to the Arizona Vengeance team and brings us Bishop’s story. The characters are quick to grab attention, and keep us entertained throughout. The team is coming on strong and has a batch of guys that look for some fun times as we dig further into this series. Can’t wait for more of their stories! Really enjoyed!
Hot shot hockey player Bishop Scott might just have a little grudge to even up against his former team now that he’s been snapped up by the newest team in the NHL, Arizona Vengeance. He plans to play the best hockey of his life, but needs to cut loose the night before training starts to get it out of his system for a bit. When he meets a gorgeous woman at the bar who seems just as down as him for a single night of hot, steamy, no holds barred sex, he’s ready to go!
Brooke Perron had no idea the guy she slept with last night was one of her hockey coach father’s players! She sitting here in her office at the arena and in he walks to snag her into a steamy kiss like the night never ended. Too bad her dad just walked in! She has to save Bishop from her dad’s wrath, so she conveniently introduces him to dear old dad as her fiancee. This fake relationship might end quickly, but it’s going to be a lot of fun while it lasts!
When it comes to hockey romances, Sawyer Bennett has always been one of my automatic go-to authors. I absolutely adored her Carolina Cold Fury series, so it’s no surprise how much I loved the first book in the Arizona Vengeance series. Bishop was just everything I hoped it would be and more—compelling, fast-paced, and beyond HOT AF.
“I know they say love and romance hit you when you’re least expecting it, but I can tell you it knocked into me with the force of a hurricane, because I truly, honest to God, deep down in my heart, wasn’t looking for this with him.”
Bishop Scott was all things swoony, possessive, and aggressive on and off the ice. The assistant captain of the newest expansion team of the NHL will just make you wish that he was in love with you, as much as he was with Brooke. But then again, there’s no wonder why he immediately set his sights on this woman and claimed her like a Neanderthal. Brooke Perron might be the head coach’s daughter, but she was so level-headed, sweet and loving. There was just so much goodness in her—she was ultimately beautiful inside and out.
Now, these two might’ve started off with a fake relationship, but there was no doubt about the spark and electrifying chemistry they had whenever they were together. The more they kept up with their charade, the more they just fell deeper into each other. And I loved it. I loved watching their relationship bloom and morph into something so much more.
Sawyer Bennett truly kicked off her newest hockey romance series with a bang—the twist was brilliant; the characters were intriguing, addicting and so much fun; and the plot will only make you crave for more of Brooke and Bishop, and the rest of the guys.
If you loved the Cold Fury, then you’ll certainly be all over this. The players of the Arizona Vengeance aren’t only the newest boys in hockey town, but they’re also fiercer, naughtier, dirtier and more determined than any other team to prove their worth. These boys are definitely giving the Carolina Cold Fury a run for their money. All in all, I really enjoyed this one and I’m already looking forward to Erik’s book!
It got down and dirty pretty quick, and I knew this was going to be super fun to read. Brooke and Bishop we hot and heavy from the get go, and had mad chemistry between them. They both painted themselves in a corner in an effort to ‘do the right thing,’ even though it wasn’t the best idea in the world. They eventually figure out how to just have fun with it, and unconsciously end up getting lost in one another. It wouldn’t be complete with a little twist here and there, but it adds some zing to the story and the main thing is a HEA!
Bishop by Sawyer Bennett is Arizona Vengeance book #1 and if this series is anything like Ms. Bennett’s Cold Fury series we are in for a lot of fun. Bishop Scott is out for a night of fun before his first meeting with his new team, the Arizona Vengeance, the newest expansion team in the league. When, Brooke Perron, the woman he has his eyes on seems just as amiable as he to have a night of fun he is in luck. The next day when it turns out she works for the team things heat up again real fast. That is until her father, who just so happens to be his new coach catches them in the act.
Thankfully Brooke is fast on her feet, but all of a sudden Bishop has fake fiance and a coach that is breathing down his neck more than any other player on the team, and for more than one reason. Brooke’s plan to eventually ease away from each other and take the blame for the break up seems like a good one, but the adage that practice makes perfect is usually more true as practice makes permanent and what Bishop and Brooke are practicing is starting to become both. Perfect and maybe permanent.
Ms. Sawyer has a talent for crafting fun characters that are put in interesting situations and this story was a fun ride. Brooke and Bishop click so well that it’s not possible to let go. Both of their personalities shine through and their connection is strong from the start. Overall I very much enjoyed Bishop by Sawyer Bennett and can’t wait for the rest of this series.
(I voluntarily reviewed an advance review copy of this book I received for free from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my open and honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.)
How do two people who shared one-night of no strings sex end up in a fake relationship the day after they thought they’d never see one another again?
For Bishop Scott and Brooke Perron, all it takes is an unexpected encounter between them and a visit from Brooke’s father who also happens to be the head coach of the Vengeance, Bishop’s new NHL team, to walk in on them at an inopportune time for Brooke to blurt out something that complicates Bishop and Brooke’s lives in multiple ways.
The player and the coach’s daughter…it kind of sounds like a tabloid headline, but in Sawyer Bennett’s newest release, it’s the reality that Bishop and Brooke find themselves in, and while neither wanted anything more than a wild roll in the sack, they now find themselves fabricating a two month relationship and heading towards a fake engagement due to their desire not to rock the boat when it comes to Brooke’s dad’s reaction to their duplicity.
Even though Bishop and Brooke’s relationship was forced at the beginning, there’s nothing fake about their sexual chemistry or how explosive they are when they’re together. Their first encounter was beyond satisfying, so the fact that Bishop wants to get him some by agreeing to Brooke’s charade isn’t surprising; in fact, his honesty is refreshing and as their ‘fake’ love turns into the real thing, Bishop continues to be upfront with Brooke and he treats her with respect and thoughtfulness every time they’re together.
I do have to admit that the story’s antagonist didn’t sit well with me, especially since Brooke’s relationship with this person wasn’t a close one. What I struggled with the most was how Brooke seemed like a pushover in certain situations; I get that Brooke likes to see the good in everyone but when it’s this blatantly obvious that the person she’s helping doesn’t deserve it, she has to stand up for herself and I just didn’t see that very much in their exchanges.
I’m definitely intrigued by the group of Bishop’s teammates Sawyer Bennett introduces her readers to, and while my opinion may not be the most popular, out of all of the players we met, I’m most anxious to get Tacker’s story, even if I already now it will be an uphill battle for the woman who wants to heal him and claim his heart.

~~ 4 HOCKYLICIOUS STARS!~~
I have been a huge admirer of Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury hockey players so when I heard she was launching a brand new spinoff series, Arizona Vengeance, I was CHEERING LIKE A CRAZY FANGIRL! And if this first installment, BISHOP, is any indication, the series is off to a rousing start!
THE STORY:
Star hockey player Bishop Scott recently relocated from New York to Phoenix and is admittedly less than thrilled to be playing for the NHL’s newest expansion team, Arizona Vengeance. So he’s ready to kick back and enjoy his last night of revelry with his hockey buddies before summer training camp starts. However , he never counted on his inner caveman roaring to the surface the moment he set eyes on a sultry brunette beauty named Brooke nursing a drink at the bar. Acting on pure primal instinct, he lays on the charm but before he has a chance to brazenly stake his claim, he hits the jackpot when SHE propositions HIM ! Figuring a round of filthy hot sex with this gorgeous creature is a win-win for them both, he can’t get her naked fast enough.
And what a wickedly wanton night it is!!!
But their post coital bubble of bliss bursts into flames the following day when Bishop’s new head coach, David Peron, catches them in the throes of a steamy clinch, and demands to know: “What in the f*ck are you doing with your hands on my DAUGHTER?!!”
Knowing the sh*t is about to hit the fan, a panic-stricken Brooke, who was just hired as the Arizona Vengeance’s “new assistant director of team services,” saves the day by telling her irate daddy that his new co-captain is her doting fiancé!!
Caught between a rock and a hard place, Bishop reluctantly agrees to the fake engagement farce to stay in good standing with the coach. And while the situation isn’t ideal, this arrogantly sexy right winger isn’t exactly opposed to the fringe benefits of their arrangement since he and Coach Peron’s precious little girl clearly can’t keep their hands—or lips–off each other!
However, red-hot attraction aside, they both agree that the lovely dovey act is just for show, and that their no strings attached dalliance has a definite shelf life. Of course, RULES ARE MADE TO BE BROKEN, and when they both start to catch real feelings for one another, can this romantic charade turn into the real deal?
MY MUSINGS:
BISHOP was one wildly entertaining, faced paced read chock full of captivating romance, thrilling hockey sequences, fun, flirty sparks and sizzling passion galore! I just love Sawyer Bennett’s breezy writing style…her books are impossible to put down and this book is no exception!
Moreover, I am a SUCKER for the fake fiancé trope, and while there isn’t anything really earth shatteringly new here, the way it plays out is a pure delight! One of the main reasons this book clicked so well for me is because of the insanely good character craftsmanship! —the MCs just leap off the page and they were layered with oodles of warmth and charm and charisma!
Both Brooke and Bishop truly endeared themselves to me from page one. The heroine gave up her dream job in NYC to support her father, who is still struggling emotionally after her mom’s death, and I just love her beautiful, kind heart, gentle, easygoing temperament , and saucy inner temptress!
And Bishop? Holy moly! This big, hulking, NHL hottie just revved my engine big-time! He OOZES testosterone and is just so deliciously filthy taking, surprisingly sweet and UNAPOLOGETICALLY ALPHA, and had me swooning like a giddy hockey groupie!
As for the romance…it’s OH SO SCINTILLATING! Brooke and Bishop smolder in every scene together and I had a big, goofy smile on my face throughout! Not only are the steamy interludes primally sexy and delectably naughty, but the breathtaking tenderness that flows between this secretly besotted duo as they find themselves falling in love—for real–really tugs at the heartstrings. I was truly BLISSED OUT during every single beat of this winsome love story!
And of course, as with every sports romance, the teammates are pivotal to the plot, and the good natured banter between the Vengeance players in the locker room—and the adrenaline pumping action on the rink–is just exhilarating! And throw an evil villainess into the mix to stir up trouble with the guys, and you have one doozy of a story! My only small quibble in an otherwise stellar book was that I found the HEA ending too abrupt and would have LOVED an epilogue to sweeten the deal! But otherwise, I am one happy camper!
BOTTOM LINE:
Sawyer Bennett scores a HUGE GOAL with her first book in the Arizona Vengeance series! This heart thumping page-turner titillates from start to finish and is chock full of breathtaking romance, torrid sexcapades, juicy drama, an unforgettable cast of drop dead gorge hockey players, and heartwarming feels! Can’t wait for more books with these Kindle-melting Arizona Vengeance players…and yay Erik’s story is next!
A MUST READ!
You’ll need to have a fan close by when reading Bishop, because it is scorching hot! Sawyer Bennett launches her new hockey series, Arizona Vengeance, with this highly entertaining, sexy and feel-good romance in which a one night stand turns into a fake engagement and then…so much more. Bishop and Brooke have amazing chemistry and a fun dynamic, and they are magic together. They are both new to Arizona and finding their footing, so it is nice that they are a similar stage in their lives. I consider Sawyer Bennett one of the queens of hockey romance, and Bishop reminds me why. I am incredibly excited about this series!
ARC provided, but this review was voluntarily and honestly written.
“No matter what led us to this moment, right now I’m yours.”
If you loved the Carolina Cold Fury, then you will FALL HARD and FAST for the Arizona Vengeance! Bishop is the first book in Sawyer Bennett’s brand new sports romance series, Arizona Vengeance, and this was one HELL of a start the series! Falling for your new coach’s daughter? Not the best move you could make when you’re starting out on a new team as a co-captain. But there is something about Brooke Perron that draws Bishop in and doesn’t want to let go. HE doesn’t want to let go. Fake relationship or not, the sparks, the chemistry, the connection is ALL TOO REAL. This front that they both put up isn’t fooling anyone and pretty soon the truth will come out. Will this “fake relationship” fizzle out when the truth is revealed? Or will it turn into something more once the excuses run out?
I loved it! I loved the characters (primary and secondary). The plot was interesting, entertaining, and swoony. It was fast-paced but didn’t feel rushed. The sex scenes were scorching HOT! I mean, we are talking about a Sawyer Bennett romance here, aren’t we? This was everything I would come to expect from this author and maybe even more! A great start to a new series and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for these boys!
This is going to be a great series. Bishop and Brooke Started off hot and heavy with a one night stand. But the next day was filled with a surprise of a lifetime for both of them. Their relationship was unorthodox but fun to watch unfold. They were a great couple to start the series with. Erik, Dax, and Tacker were great additions to the story and am hopeful they will get their own HEA. Sawyer Bennett knows how to write the perfect combination of heat and sweet!
I’m a huge fan of the Cold Fury series, so I couldn’t wait to jump into Ms. Bennett’s new hockey series! This was a great book while telling Brooke and Bishop’s story it also sets up the new world we are embarking into. Brooke and Bishops fake romance which turns real was hot and exciting. Meeting all of these new players and immersing myself in this world was so much fun! I love Ms. Bennett’s world building and 3-D characters. This was a great start to this new series and I look forward to so much more to come!

Sawyer Bennett starts her Arizona Vengeance series off with a bang. Bishop is a fun, entertaining and sexy as hell read.
Bishop Scott has been traded to a new team and moved to a new city. A night on the town and a little ‘fun’ leads to the one-nightstand of one-nightstands. Brooke seems absolutely perfect and they are compatible in and out of bed, too bad he’ll never see her again, right?
Brooke Perron accepted a cushy, made up position in order to be near her grieving father. When her hook-up from the night before shows up in her office, sparks fly for them yet again. Then her father walks in and she drags Bishop around on the ride of his life with her announcement that they are engaged.
I see her and it’s all over for me.
I was hooked from the first line. This is definitely a charming sports romance with lots of laugh out loud moments. Both characters have no inhibitions when it comes to sex and they let the passion fly. Outside the bedroom they have to work at a relationship, but that’s mostly because they get in their own way. I haven’t read any of the Carolina Cold Fury novels and it’s not necessary in order to begin this series, but I totally need some more hot hockey players to tide me over until the next book comes out. Bishop is a winner for me.
Sawyer Bennet has easily become one of my go to writers.
I love everything she has and her newest hockey story, Bishop, is no different.
I flipping loved the entire book. The plot. The characters. The drama. The humor. Then ending. L. O. V. E. D. It!
Chapter 1…. Bishop is in a new city with a new hockey team and sees her across the bar. He goes over and meets Brooke. One night stand time.
Next day, Bishop heads into arena. Sees a Smoking hot pair of legs, she turns and it’s Brooke. Who shares the same last name as his new coach. Oops. To save face when the dad. Aka his new boss walks in, she blurts our he’s her fiancé.
This book was awesome.
Hot hot hot.
Sweet sweet sweet.
I think Bishop May be one of my fav characters. Ever. Loved it.
Highly recommend.
Sawyer Bennett
Sawyer Bennett & sports romance go together soooo well! This new series is starting out amazingly…i loved and adored Bishop! He’s the ultimate good guy in a super hot package!
Bishop & Brooke may seem to be together but while not real, it sure does grow beautifully into something more!
The two have amazing chemistry, their love is super hot and beautiful, all at the same time!
Brooke had gotten the short end of the stick, having to move, to put others ahead of herself, doing it again and again!
Luckily one of her sacrifices definitely pays off…
I loved meeting some of the secondary characters and cannot wait for their stories… as always for the talented S Bennett! Highly recommend!
OK, I do not know why, but I freaking LOVE hockey romance, it is one of my favorite genre’s of romance. I first got hooked into hockey romance when I read Zack the third book in Sawyer Bennett’s Cold Fury Series. I have been a fanatic of both Sawyer Bennett and Hockey romance ever since. Ms. Bennett’s latest release is Bishop is the first book in her new series the Arizona Vengeance. In my honest opinion, if Bishop is any indication of her newest series is going to go, Ms. Bennett has another winner.
I think Brooke and Bishop are absolutely meant for each other. I think the lie she tells her father, is her sub-conscience speaking. Sorry folks, not giving any spoilers away. I will say this, the book is HOT, so you may need a fan while reading.
I love the way Ms. Bennett develops her characters, the hero is a cocky, vulnerable donkey, who turns into a totally loveable guy that still has that touch of cocky to them. I love the way she makes her hockey heroes more human and takes you into their lives (or so I am assuming) for a while.
I had a soft spot for Bishop, and the new series, because one of my favorite players of my local NHL team was picked for the new expansion team in Las Vegas, and he and the new team did da…darn well for their first season. Just saying.
I was gifted with a copy of this wonderful book for my reading pleasure. One of my favorite types of books are books that can take me away from my life and take me into their lives of the characters and forget the problems of my life for a time. So, Thank You, Ms. Bennett for the hour and hours of reading enjoyment you provide to your readers.
I cannot wait to see what you have in store for Erik, he really needs to be taken down a peg or two…
Thank you for reading my review.
Bishop Scott wasn’t too thrilled to be picked up by the Arizona Vengeance, but what can you do. So the night before training camp start he goes out for some fun and has an amazing one night stand. The next day who should he run into, but the coach’s daughter who also happens to be the women he spent the night with. And then to make it even worse she tells her dad they are engaged.. WTH…
Brooke just moved to Arizona to be closer to her dad after they lost her mother. And now he is very protective of her and his struggling to cope with her death, so in order to not antagonize him with his new player she tells him she’s engaged to Bishop Scott who happens to be her one night stand. So they decide to pretend to be engaged until she can break it to her father that nothing was happening between them when he caught them kissing.
But is it really pretend when they are both attracted to each other and both of them are enjoying the sex way too much…
This was a easy fast paced fun read for me. Definitely not a fan of sports reads but I enjoyed this one. And I can’t wait to read the player, Erik’s book next
4.5 DESERVING STARS!!
What a fabulous way to start a series!!
This first book was just amazing and fill with humor, passion, unexpected emotions, erotic scenes, and characters that will still your heart!!
I really love following Bishop and Brooke’s journey and love seen them fall for each other!!
Can’t wait for book 2 of this fabulous series!!
I absolutely loved reading the books from Sawyer Bennett’s previous hockey team series, The Carolina Cold Fury. But, she has taken things up several notches, in all “zones,” with her all new team series, the Arizona Vengeance.
I relished my time reading Bishop. The dynamics between the two lead characters were incredible. Bishop and his leading lady Brooke were great characters, which I felt drew me in to this story because I genuinely liked both of their personalities.
They were also the type of characters that felt real. There were so many fantastic qualities about these two characters that I could not get enough!
Reading about Bishop and his new teammates was an absolute delight! Not only is this a new team with a brand new cast of characters to discover, but as an avid hockey fan, I appreciated the more technical terminology describing the game play, giving it a more authentic feel.
I fell head over feet for this new team and the guys playing alongside Bishop. I cannot wait to read more and find out who is going to “score” next.
As Always, Happy Reading!
“5/5 Beaming Brains!” – Laura, Lit-Up My Mind
I enjoyed meeting this new team. Brooke and Bishop had great chemistry from the start. The natural way their feelings grew between all the pretend feelings kept me interested in how this story would play out. There were moments that were sigh worthy and sniffle worthy, and I look forward to more in this series as some of the secondary characters were fun to read about, and some need their comeuppance and others need that person to help them move on.
I received a copy of this ARC through Netgalley, and this is my unsolicited review.
