USA TODAY BESTSELLER • Meet the Arizona Vengeance, hockey’s hottest new team. They’re burning up the ice—until a one-night-stand with the coach’s daughter freezes one player in his skates. Bishop Scott, co-captain. Not too shabby, huh? It’s all part of my fresh start with the NHL’s latest expansion team, and that means new teammates, a new coach, a new city, and a big new contract. Basically, I … big new contract. Basically, I cannot f***ing wait to show my old squad what they’re missing.
But first, I decide to check out the town before the grind begins. Turns out Arizona chicks are totally smokin’, and I’m fortunate enough to meet one who’s looking for the same thing I am: a night of anonymous, unforgettable, no-strings-attached sex.
Fast forward to the Vengeance arena. It’s the last place I expect to see her again—let alone in her own office. Then bells go off and I finally realize who this girl is: Brooke Perron. My new coach’s daughter. All of a sudden, we’re picking up right where we left off, which means our hands are all over each other. That’s when her dad—my boss—walks in. And before I can get a word out, Brooke’s introducing me as her fiancé.
Sure, she just saved my ass. So why do I get the feeling Brooke’s going to turn my world upside down? Maybe it’s because this fake relationship feels way too real. . . .
Praise for Bishop

I always love Sawyer’s books! A must read for sure!
All of Sawyer Bennett’s books are fun, steamy, and adorable. Bishop’s story was no different. It was extremely exciting to read another Hockey series by Ms. Bennett, the Cold Fury series is my absolute favorite! I have reread that series many times. She writes hockey stories like no one else. It was endearing to read about a couple who had just met but has this undeniable connection, it was hard to tell that they are “Fake”, because Bishop and Brooke have a beautiful friendship and amazing chemistry, no one would ever know they weren’t truly together. Both Bishop and Brooke are lovable characters, they care for other people before themselves, which is honestly refreshing when it comes to stories like these. The typical would be a hot shot hockey star being a playboy, egotistical and selfish, jumping from one puck bunny to the next but not Bishop. He loves his new team, tries to be friendly with everyone, and to top is off he adores his mom, it just shows his true self as a sweet, and compassionate man. In no way am I saying this book was all hearts and flowers, that is simply not the case, there was some angst and a little suspense with all the secrets but the journey was enjoyable. Loved this book!
WOW! I am completely in love with Bishop. I could not put this amazing book down once I got started. Bishop and Brooke had fantastic chemistry from the first time they met but it was so freaking awesome to actually see their hot chemistry grow into something more than just physical attraction.
Bishop has stolen my heart! I absolutely loved how Bishop was with Brooke- so attentive and focused on her. I loved that he couldn’t get Brooke out of his mind. And I adore him even more because of his relationship with his mom!
Brooke was such a sweetheart. I loved that she was kind, independent, worked hard to earn what she wants on her own merit and just how much he loves and cares for her dad.
Bishop and Brooke were fated to be together no matter how their relationship started off.
I loved this! Sawyer does such a great job of adding those little hockey phrases and details that you know she’s done extensive research to make it all seem like she’s really telling someone’s story. And, wow, is Bishop and Brooke’s a good one! A fake fiancé that happens to be a famous hockey player? What can go wrong with that? A one-night stand might turn into something more for Bishop and Brooke. Must be fate.
5 stars!!
When a one-night stand can turn into your happily ever after…
Bishop Scott has started on a brand new team, the Arizona Vengeance, after a successful career in New York. After the most incredible sex of his life, Bishop is ready to play his heart out on the ice. When he enters the arena, he finds the woman he spent the night with and he feels as if fate stepped in to make things sweet for him. He’s ready to pick up where they left off and she seems willing… until they’re caught in a compromising position by his new coach… her father!
Brooke Perron has left her cushy life in New York to offer support to her grieving father in Phoenix. After a co-worker fails to show up at the bar, she invites a hot stranger to her bed and has the most amazing sex of her life. Starting a new job for the Arizona Vengeance, she’s surprised to see Bishop at her work place. It’s like kismet or something. He brings her into a passionate embrace that may have led to more if her father hadn’t walked in. To save face and maybe protect Bishop from the fallout of her father’s temper, she lies and tells her dad that they’re engaged. And that’s how a one-night stand turns into a fake relationship and then into forever.
These characters were so adorable. They were incredibly likeable and the development of their relationship was almost natural. You know, aside from the fact that it was fake. But it was obvious, almost from the start, how NOT fake their feelings for one another were. And Bishop surprised the heck out of me with how sensual, dominant, and dirty he was. LOVED IT!! I found love for all of the characters, including the side ones and I’m excited to get to read their stories when they come out.
What happens when you start a new hockey team in Arizona? The temperature isn’t the only thing that can melt the ice.
Meet Bishop Scott, co-captain and one sexy man and when he is on the ice he is even sexier. While out with his buddies one night, he meets Brooke and thinks she would be the perfect distraction for one night. But he realizes after he leaves her, that he would like to know her better. But he doesn’t have a way to get in touch with her.
Brooke has turned down a few guys at the bar but when Bishop walks up to her she wants to take him home. He is sweet and caring and just what she needs. A distraction for one night. They don’t talk about what will happen tomorrow. All that matters is tonight.
When Bishop happens upon Brooke in one of the offices at the Vengeance arena, it turns out to be her office. And not just that, she is his new coach’s daughter. So why is it when her dad, my boss, walks in, she introduces me as her fiance? Oh this is going to be bad and not in a good way.
Can Bishop and Brooke keep up the farce until the time is right to end it without anyone getting hurt? Will they both fall in love for real? What happens if their secret gets out?
I loved everything about the Carolina Cold Fury series but I think Bishop might be my new favorite. Starting a new series for me is always exciting because of the new characters and what their lives have in store is always fun. And Sawyer Bennett knows how to deliver on sexy, hot hockey men. So sit back and enjoy this book and have a fan handy, you are going to need it.
**Copy provided by the publisher through NetGalley and this is my honest review**
It hasn’t been that long ago that I discovered Sawyer Bennett for myself. Now I can’t wait to read all that she has written. I loved reading Bishop and it’s the first book in the Arizona Vengeance and is a spinoff from The Carolina Cold Fury series. Which now I need to find the time to read that series as well.
Let me just say Bishop was HOT, HAWT, HOT!
BTW it’s just like a man to do whatever it takes to get a woman into bed. Including letting women know what you do to get them into said bed.
This is Bishop Scott and Brooke Perron’s story. They each thought they were getting a one night stand. Which lead to me saying this book was HOT! And, her daddy is the coach to the team that Bishop is now playing for. Uh oh!
If you want a well written and hot story then pick up a copy of Bishop. Each of these books can be read as standalone’s. I can tell you I can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out. I give Bishop 4.5 stars and I can’t wait to read Erik next.
“While I’m fucking stunned over how much I enjoyed these last few days with Brooke, I’m also freaked out over how much I enjoyed these last few days with Brooke.”
How thrilled I was when I learned that Sawyer Bennett was writing another hockey series. I’m a huge fan of her Cold Fury series and was sad when it was over. What a fun new twist Bishop has taken, the #FakeFiancé route. Even though I knew it was coming after reading the synopsis, the anticipation of waiting for it was exciting.
Bishop earned my respect early one. He’s not just a cocky arrogant professional athlete that expects to get everything he wants like so many others. He’s actually feeling a little insecure after being released by his former team and nervous about his place in the new Arizona Vengeance expansion team. He’s going to have to prove himself all over again. Deciding to blow off some steam at a club before his first team meeting he runs into her. She’s gorgeous and smart and everything he’s looking for… for one night.
Brooke is new to Arizona and even though she’s the daughter of the coach, she doesn’t follow hockey or know the players. So, when Bishop approaches her she has no clue he’s a player for her father’s team. It’s just instant attraction and their bodies do all the talking. They get to know each other very closely, but without words. Maybe a few moans and screams, but no names or phone numbers were exchanged. Neither was disappointed by their memorable night together, but they never planned to see each other again.
Woo Hoo! What fun it was to be inside Bishop’s head as he walked down the hall and noticed his hot one-night-stand sitting behind a desk the next morning. Let’s just say he talks dirty in his thoughts too. I thoroughly enjoyed mentally watching their reconnection scene play out. Knowing that they would realize each other’s previously undisclosed identity and barely have time to process it before her father walked in on them getting reacquainted (wink-wink). Without thinking, because the lust overrode her thoughts, she blurted out to her father that Bishop was her fiancé.
It just gets better from there as they scramble to keep up with their charade. That instant attraction that they felt never dissipates, it just gets stronger. What happens when convincing others that they are in a relationship becomes way too easy? Will they be ready to breakup when the time comes? How long will they be able to hide from the truth when everyone else seems to already know it?
I loved not only the hockey details but the unexpected turn the story took. The author kept me invested and excited as the couple skated on thin ice. I’m loving this new series and I can’t wait for the next installment. There’s a particular player that I’m yearning for, but my guess is that he’ll be the last one to tell his story. I can’t wait!!! The line forms here…
If you have read my past Sawyer Bennett reviews you know that I am a huge fan! I have a lot of her books and in every review I always is this one word to describe her… consistent! Bennett is probably the most consistent author I have read from. All her books are enjoyable, romantic, humorous and easy to read. Oh and let’s not forget sexy!!! Her books are definitely hot!
Bishop and Brooke has amazing chemistry and I was obsessed with their coupling from the start. It was fun to see how easy it was for them to fall into that boyfriend/girlfriend headspace. This book is a definite page turner you will want to see what’s going to happen and follow the story to the end. I finished the book in just a few hours! I hardly do that anymore.
Bishop is the first book in this brand new NHL series called Arizona Vengence. We are introduced to a lot of team mates and I already have my eye on two of them! If you like sports romance you will definitely love Bishop and Sawyers other NHL series. There is a great balance between hockey and romance.
Bishop is the first book in the Arizona Vengeance Series. What starts out has a one night stand quickly becomes complicated but things don’t always go as intended. Brooke and Bishop’s story is sweet, sexy, and delicious! A quick read with fantastic characters. Another hit for Sawyer Bennett!

STORY:
I don’t do Sport Romances much, especially hockey, but I love this book. Who knew a one-night stand could turn out to be so good to read. Bishop, OMG, his dirty mouth and his attitude fuels me while reading. Brooke was prefect for him and love the way they interacted with each other. I am really surprised I love this book and really want to read the remaining books in the series. Hopefully, I get through all 8.
Chapter 28 loved it. You can not argue with crazy.
CHEMISTRY:
The sex in this book was D.R.I.P worthy for me. Their physical chemistry was amazing, and I liked how they played off each other.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS
I like that the author introduced us to the other players that there will be books for in the series. You get a bit of everyone’s personality and I can hardly wait to read because I have my favorites.
Overall, I would definitely recommend loved it and looking forward to reading the series.
***I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read and hope this review was helpful.
When Sawyer Bennett starts a new series you stay up all night reading! This one seems to be modeled after a new expansion team. You will love Bishop and Brooke! And the hockey is first rate. Sawyer really knows how to weave that into the story. If you loved her other hockey series, I think you’ll love this one more. The Arizona Vengeance team will steam up the pages. I’m definitely looking forward to more! 4 stars
So here’s the thing, I don’t even like hockey in real life. We don’t watch sports in my house, at all, well except the Olympics. However, I can’t get enough of these books! I absolutely loved the Cold Fury series and have been wanting to get to this series for awhile. I’m so glad I’m immersed back into the hockey world!
Bishop and Brooke have a one night stand. Incredible actually. Then they find each other again and all of a sudden it turns into a fake relationship. He agrees to go along with it all so that Brooke won’t get hurt. He’s such a good guy with a good heart, I’ll admit I find him very swoon worthy. Over the course of the fake relationship things start to change. Is it all one sided feelings or could this actually turn into something more?
It really speaks volumes when an author can make a non sports fanatic into an obsessed reader for a specific sport. I’m onto book two and I can’t wait to devour the whole series!
Loved Bishop and Brooke’s story.
Loved the storyline and the connection between them both. So glad Bishop went after her for them to have their HEA.
Loving this series so far
Bishop is the first book in a new hockey series, Arizona Vengeance. The Arizona Vengeance is a new team created from the expansion draft and Bishop is the first player that we are going to get to know better. Bishop Scott was a member of the New York Vipers before being chosen by the Arizona Vengeance draft. Deciding to check out Phoenix prior to the season starting, Bishop heads out for a night on the town and some no-strings-attached fun with the beautiful woman that he meets at the bar. Shocked to find his one-night stand sitting in one of the offices at the Vengeance arena, Bishop and Brooke start to pick up where they left off when they are interrupted by Bishop’s new boss and Brooke’s father, the coach of the Vengeance. When Coach Perron confronts them about what is going on, Brooke blurts out that Bishop is her fiancé and so starts their fake relationship. While trying to keep Coach Perron happy, the fake relationship story straight and their lives in order, Bishop and Brooke realize that their relationship is becoming anything but fake.
Bishop is told in the dual point of view of both Bishop and Brooke and is a fast-paced fun and steamy read. Sawyer Bennett has upped her hockey romance game with the Arizona Vengeance series from the Cold Fury series. This series is sure to get better as the books come. There are many characters that are introduced in this novel and I am sure we will get a peek into their lives in this series. Overall I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to diving into the rest of the Arizona Vengeance novels.
This is the first book in the Arizona Vengeance series. It’s about Bishop Scott and Brooke Perron. Bishop has just been sent to Arizona for a brand new team after his old team left him as a free agent. On his first night in town he and a fellow teammate decide to go to a bar to try to unwind. There he meet’s Brooke. Brooke is also new in town and they hit it off and decide to stay the night together. The go their separate ways never expecting to see each other. Until Bishop see’s her in an office in the arena and they are getting close. And in walks her dad-his new coach. So Brooke decides in order to try to save him from any backlash since neither of them knew who the other one was, she tells her father they are engaged. And now they both have to fake a relationship in order to keep the peace with her father and the team. Never knowing how much that will change their whole lives.
I loved this book!! It had me hooked from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. Brooke and Bishop both made me laugh all the time and they had crazy hot chemistry on top of that too! The fact that they can be friends as well as lovers is just an awesome thing and kept me reading. Not to mention that they actually listen to each other and what their hopes and dreams are was beyond great!! Even when things happen that I didn’t expect at all, they still manage to have each other’s backs. The other characters that are introduced in this new series just make you want to read more and more. Some more so than others, once you read it you will understand exactly who I am talking about. If you have read and loved the Carolina Cold Fury series than you will absolutely love this one as well. It’s a great start to the series!
After listening to the audio version, I have to say that not only does Lance Greenfield do a great job bringing Bishop to life for me but he also conveys all the emotions and energy that I was hoping for with his character. Kirsten Leigh also does a great job bringing Brooke to life and I thoroughly enjoyed their narration.
Boy and girl meet, they talk about the Count of Monte Cristo, they go home together. So naturally, the next day they’re staring down a fake engagement.
There are a lot of fake relationship romances out there, and there is a reason for that, it’s fun to watch people squirm and tap dance their way through the awkwardness that is the situation they have gotten themselves into. But Brooke and Bishop are different. from the beginning, they feel a connection, and while they aren’t thrilled to be in the situation, they both agree to have some fun while seeing it out.
These two characters are so much fun. They are light-hearted and are such a good match, and their chemistry just sizzled. You really feel them as a couple long before they both realize they that they really are boyfriend and girlfriend. Other than the major lie to her Dad, they both work very hard to make honesty a priority.
Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh did a wonderful job of bringing these characters to life. They are fantastic narrators and it really showed in this book.
Audiobook Review
What happens when you have a one night stand from a bar and then figure out she is the daughter of your new coach? You pretend to be in a relationship with said daughter to keep your position on the team.
Brooke was new to town, she left her home and job she loved to follow her father to Arizona for him to coach the Arizona Vengeance hockey team. She just wants to let loose and when she meets Bishop in a bar she has no idea who he is but the sparks are magical between them so when the next day he walks into her office they pick right back up where they left off. Trouble is her dad walks in and catches them in mid make out so she does the only thing she thinks will keep them all out of trouble.
Loved this story of a fake relationship turned real. The characters in this book are all great, there is some crazy going on and some sorrow all mixed in with the main two so it gives us a great story that is a stand alone but will continue with other characters.
Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh did a great job narrating this book. Loved listening to them from start to finish.
I loved this audiobook and highly recommend it.
This is the start of the Arizona Vengeance Series it’s Bishop and Brooke. Bishop is a member of the newest NHL team the Vengeance and him along with a few of his pals from the team are out one evening enjoying their night when he runs into Brooke, she’s beautiful and smart and what begins as a one night stand on both their parts turns into something else when they accidentally run into one another the next day do to unforeseen circumstances.
The book was great I loved meeting Bishop and Brooke and seeing their story unfold. The author does a magnificent job of keeping the reader engaged. I look forward to reading more of the series.
Hockey player Bishop Scott gets the shock of his life when he sees his latest one-night stand, Brooke Perron, again. Right away they pick up where they left off and have their hands all over each other when his new coach walks in on them in her office. Turns out, she’s his new coach’s daughter; and to save him from her dad’s wrath, Brooke introduces Bishop as her fiancée!
This was a light, entertaining listen. There’s little drama there’s lots of humor and chemistry between the characters. I’m looking forward to listening to the other players’ stories, and I hope Dominik and Coach Perron get their own Happily Every After, too!
Lance Greenfield is a new to me author. He and Kirsten Leigh, who is slowly becoming one of my favorites, did a great job bringing this book to life.
Bishop is a fake relationship sports romance written in dual first person POV. It ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
