Oh my this book was worth the wait and more! Jullian and Rae are compelling, funny, loving and throw in a little ocd. We learn more of their lives and get insight into why they are the way they are. Their story unfolds one step at a time with laughter and surprises along the way! House of Bishop is expanding and I hope to see more of them all in the future!
I just finished reading Bishop Surrenders and I was freakin’ blown away. As usual with Suzanne Halliday’s books I giggle-snorted through much of it due to her hysterical and snarky dialogue however there were so many other emotions that it evoked. I’m not ashamed to admit that I also cried a few times along the way as Julian and Rae learned that trust is the only thing that matters. Catching up with Roman and Kelly’s journey was just the icing on a very delicious cake with Matty as the cherry on top. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the House of Bishop saga.
Trying to put ones thoughts down is not easy. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading Suzanne and her work you need to. She doesn’t just give you a story she gives you an experience, a visual and everything you didn’t know was possible when opening up to her words.
I was on pins and needles waiting for this story. Julian had me from the moment I read Castle Scarlet. The tortured recluse who hid himself away, only emerging when required. Having Braeanna Walsh arrive on his doorstep was the final push this man needed or so I thought. In pushing her away he was closing himself off to something that could have been spectacular. The whole vibe of the story and our two leads reminded me of Beauty and the Beast. A modern take of the fairy tale in my head.
We are six months in from where the story left us previously. Watching these two watch each other was painful. The want and need was so obvious. These two needed each other. More than they realised.
Julian’s come to Jesus moment literally had me teary. His words “I’m afraid” struck a cord. His vulnerability in that moment made him human. He wasn’t the Scarlet Master in that second he was a man admitting his fear.
Rae comes across as someone with their life together. But delving deeper you begin to understand her. Her constant activity, is like a shield. Keeping busy gives her a link to her childhood and to the loneliness she tries to hide. It started with losing her mother at a young age. Being raised in a male dominated family. Three older brothers and a Dad who was clueless, grieving the loss of a mother and a wife. They did the best they could. But nothing makes up for a mother’s loss in a little girls life.
The slow burn was fitting to their story. It made sense to their story. I didn’t want a wham bam story. The courtship and yes that’s how I felt was swoon worthy.
Braeanna’s misgivings and her take on the BDSM lifestyle is just one hurdle that Julian needs to take. But take it on he does. His first lesson in submission was so erotic in not just watching the scene but in the way he spoke. Watching Rae open herself to the lifestyle was an awakening all on its own. Her trust in Julian in that moment was the turning point.
These two and the journey will be bumpy, but with the secondary characters pushing when needed is the bonus. The love that surrounds them from family and friends is a whole other story in the making.
Catching up with Roman and Kelly was an added bonus. Learning Kelly’s concerns and Romans response? Swooning!!!
Add in the interwoven characters from two other books and you’ve got a triple bonus. The continuity with these stories and getting them lined up to coincide is not something I’ve found another author take on. And she does it effortlessly.
I think so many authors tend to rush into the BDSM lifestyle they don’t take the time to explain the true meaning to what it entails. And for me Suzanne takes you on the journey. The attention to detail is phenomenal. The true meaning of a relationship between a Dominant and Submissive and the symbolism for me makes it special. To have that trust in someone that they are one hundred percent devoted to you is the romance. Sure the sexy times are an added bonus but the trust does it for me.
A must read for lovers of romance. I can’t rate this story enough.
Amazing conclusion to the House Of Bishop.
Since it’s about both couples we have the steamy as well as the slow burn. Julian redeems himself and leaves the title of dick behind and we witness the awakening of a man that has a lot to give.
I thoroughly enjoyed the series and the characters low drama.
the books gives you everything that is sacred between to people. trust, love, understanding, communication, and so much more. Rae and Julian ‘s chemistry , and their relationship alone show the power and strength between to people. if you haven’t picked up this book you must do so now!
Julian has meet his match in Rae. Rae is all mixed up on her feelings and emotions. When they finally give in sparks fly and both end up doing 360’s on their points of view.
“It was easier when I didn’t feel anything. Safer. She stirs my soul, and it’s killing me.”
Oh, my heart!! This couple is just amazing!! I’m so glad they finally got their acts together and got to it!!
Julian, the man who hid out in his tower, hiding behind the mask of the Scarlet Master, did so out of a combination of distrust and his overwhelming need for control. Enter Miss Breanna Walsh. They couldn’t have been more opposite if they tried. His dark to her light. His wanton yet sensual ways to her complete inexperience. Yet, somehow they area the perfect pair! Each one bringing something out in the other that had been missing and then finding that explosive middle-ground that results in the most amazing love story!
And, as usual, in a typical “alpha out of water” way, Julian screws it all up. He’s had many women at his feet, but now he’ll be the one at Rae’s to fix it.
This was such a good story. I really hope there’s more of this couple ahead for us!
As always, Suzanne does an exceptional job writing a love story involving two lost souls who find their way to each other. Julian and Rae each have their own reasons to keep people at arms length. As they get to know each other they learn to let go and trust each other. It truly was amazing.
I have so many wonderful feelings about Bishop Surrenders. It is utterly amazing! Suzanne Halliday wrote a beautiful completion to the story of Julian Bishop and Braeanna Walsh that began with the book Castle Scarlet. Julian’s Master Dominant persona has met his match, and then some, with ball-busting virgin Braeanna “Rae” (NEVER Brie) Walsh. She is a taker of no crap and brings forth his true self. He has doubted that a love like theirs was in the cards for him for so long that he fights his pull to her until he just can’t any longer. She challenges him in ways he never dreamed. She is also doubtful, and somewhat fearful, of what his dominant nature and lifestyle could mean for her. The way he shows her that a D/s relationship is a truly beautiful form of trust is outstanding. The entire story is amazing and the ending…let’s just say I was blown away and cried all the happy tears.
Suzanne is the ultimate storyteller and this book is yet more proof of her amazing way with words.
I’m a huge fan of this series and all the characters and have been following Ms Halliday’s books for a long time. The fact that they all interconnect is awesome. So Altho these guys the Bishop’s are set away from Bendover they still connect. It’s like visiting a favourite family every time I read one of her books. I adored Braenna and Julian. Their dynamic was volatile but oh so much fun. It was sad to realise how they got to that point in their relationship but ultimately with the help of family and friends it was an amazing love story. My heart literally hurt at times reading this book. You can’t help but fall in love with the ‘Bishop’ men either. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. It was compelling reading. Now I cannot wait for the next ‘Justice’ book.
Bishop Surrenders is the follow up to Castle Scarlet that we have all been waiting for. What do you get when you pair up a lonely, stubborn dom with a take no crap business manager? You get a fabulous love story developing between two people meant to be. The interaction between Rae and Julian is delightful. Their sarcastic whit makes the story worth reading all by itself. Suzanne Halliday dug deep and crafted a magical story about two people finding themselves and falling in love. The road to happily after after is better than you could have imagined. As with all of Suzanne Halliday’s story telling works of art, family is a large part of the story. Reading about the incorporation of characters into families leaves the reader with a warm fuzzy spot. I can’t wait to see what happens in the House of Bishop. Whatever it is will lead to a glorious wild ride!
Words escape me on what to say about this story. I discovered Suzanne’s book by accident and boy am I glad I did. I have never been disappointed by any of them. If you have not read her books you need to,they are amazing. You get drawn in from the first word and feel like you are right there living the story. You can’t help but fall in love with all her characters. That is exactly what happened to me with Julian & Rae, love them together. This is the continuation of the story of their back & forth game of hiding their true feelings for each other. Finally taking a chance on each other as Rae is opened up to his world at the Castle Scarlet. I was on pins & needles waiting to see if Julian could open up himself fully to be with Rae, who he is meant to be with. They are so perfect for each other as in my opinion, one compliments the other. It was nice to see a bit of Roman & Kelly in here & be able to catch up with them. Like I said before, if you have not read any of Suzanne’s books, you have no idea what you are missing. They are amazing!!!!! You have once again outdone yourself & can’t wait for more of some of my most favorite characters of all time.

Bishop Surrender is book 4 in the House of Bishop series by Suzanne Halliday..amazing!
OMG, Suzanne Halliday has just upped the bar again with Julian and Rae’s story! These two have been pushing and pulling for months at each other but what transpires throughout the book will keep you on the edge of your seat, turning pages as quickly as possible to find out what happens next!
Tears, laughter, lots of bantering, tenderness, seeing old friends from Bend Over and finding their happily ever after!
I couldn’t wait to read more of Julian and Rae’s story! Castle Scarlett left me wanting more! I eagerly turned page after page dying to know what happens between these two. But, their story would not be rushed, both had to take the time to discover their feelings about themselves, life and each other. It was so worth the wait! Bishop Surrenders delivers all we have come to expect from Suzanne Halliday- strong women, alpha men and love!
What a spectacular addition to the House of Bishop saga. We first met Rae and Julian in Castle Scarlet, and honestly, I didn’t hold out too much hope for them because of their differences – there were many. As a couple they simply click. Each is willing to change, sacrifice, step of their comfort zones, strengthen weaknesses, have open minds and hearts, be vulnerable and available, and because of those intentional surrenders they find love, passion, new begging, and a deep abiding friendship. Their story has romance, laughter, tears, passion, sadness and joy – the full gambit of emotions – and is told in such a way that you feel you’re right there with them experiencing it all. Bishop Surrenders is a story that immediately draws you in. It’s peppered with hilarious and witty banter from the most likable and unique characters you’ll ever meet and will carry you through to the most glorious happily ever after. I highly recommend this book.
