USA TODAY BESTSELLER • Meet the Arizona Vengeance, hockey’s hottest new team. They’re burning up the ice—until a one-night-stand with the coach’s daughter freezes one player in his skates. Bishop Scott, co-captain. Not too shabby, huh? It’s all part of my fresh start with the NHL’s latest expansion team, and that means new teammates, a new coach, a new city, and a big new contract. Basically, I … big new contract. Basically, I cannot f***ing wait to show my old squad what they’re missing.
But first, I decide to check out the town before the grind begins. Turns out Arizona chicks are totally smokin’, and I’m fortunate enough to meet one who’s looking for the same thing I am: a night of anonymous, unforgettable, no-strings-attached sex.
Fast forward to the Vengeance arena. It’s the last place I expect to see her again—let alone in her own office. Then bells go off and I finally realize who this girl is: Brooke Perron. My new coach’s daughter. All of a sudden, we’re picking up right where we left off, which means our hands are all over each other. That’s when her dad—my boss—walks in. And before I can get a word out, Brooke’s introducing me as her fiancé.
Sure, she just saved my ass. So why do I get the feeling Brooke’s going to turn my world upside down? Maybe it’s because this fake relationship feels way too real. . . .
Praise for Bishop

Of course I was excited to get another series about hockey hotties. And I’m happy to report Bishop did not let me down. Since I love sports, I liked that there was plenty of actual hockey talk but not so much that if you aren’t into it, you’d be bored or put off by it. I loved Bishop and Brooke and I wouldn’t change a thing about their characters. (Especially the bedroom parts) There were just enough glimpses of the other guys on the team to really get me excited for their books. Or hope for a Vengeance vs. Cold Fury matchup??
5 star Review Bishop (Arizona Vengeance #1) by Sawyer Bennett
This is the first book in a new series from Sawyer Bennett and she is off to a flying start and I do believe she has another winning series on her hands. This is Bishop Scott and Brooke Perron’s story.
This is hockey at it’s finest. I loved the dynamic between Bishop and Brooke, he is sexually dominant and knows what he wants and goes after it. Hooking up for what they both expect to be a one night stand, Bishop is shocked when he finds out that Brooke is the daughter of his new coach and even worse that she also works for the team.
I was absolutely hooked on this book from the first to the last chapter and couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between these two is off the charts and I loved the banter and humour as well. Throwing up a smokescreen engagement when her father catches them kissing it was fun to see these two travel the path together as the walls between them fell.
There is plenty of action on and off the ice and I cannot wait to see where Sawyer Bennett takes this team and I am excited for the next release in the series.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.
An unconventional beginning and a hot hockey player always makes for a good read. Bishop starts off a playboy, but as you get to know him and his relationship with Brooke, it’s not hard to fall for him. Great start to this new series and can’t wait to read Erik’s story next!
4.9 Stars
Bishop just arrived in Phoenix to play for their new NHL team. He’s not really excited about that fact. His NY team was about to have an amazing season. But now that he’s here, he might as well make the best of it. Meaning: finding the next willing lady in this bar.
Brooke was supposed to meet a new colleague at that bar, but she got stood up. And this hot guy is flirting with her. Is it wrong for a girl to want to have a one-night thing? Nope. Off to her place they go.
But this one night might turn into more – or at least more trouble than they planned. They meet again the next day – at work! She’s the daughter of Bishop’s coach!!!!!
And they’re kinda accidentally engaged now. Whoopsie.
WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO BROOKE & BISHOP????
WiLL THERE BE A HAPPiLY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!
A new Hockey series! Yay!
Well, I would’ve preferred something a bit different – maybe football or rockstars – I don’t like hockey all that much … but … why not another hockey series!? Lots of eye candy.
And Bishop gave us a great first book.
It was funny and verrry sexy right from the start!
They start as a one-night stand that has to turn into a longer thing because they have to pretend to be together in front of her dad. And while pretending they might be falling for each other.
But of course a few obstacles stand in the way of our happy end.
I really enjoyed this book.
It was erotic and fun and sweet and I adored how much Bishop and Dax adored his mom! Too cute.
A lot of other players were introduced – there’s a lot of material in Phoenix!
Can’t wait to see what Erik will be up to next! And Tacker!!! When will we get his book?!
BISHOP was a fun & erotic first book in this new hockey series! Great start!
Run to your nearest amazon for your own BISHOP – this one is MINE!!!!!
I had some problems with the writing … as with every Sawyer book. It wasn’t mega bad this time – but I still have to mention it.
It’s Sawyer’s and my THING It’s only me who has those problems with her writing. So please don’t be worried or just scroll down and don’t read the following…
I have a HUGE AS problem! You know the AS’s I’m talking about? The AS that could/should be exchanged for a SINCE or a BECAUSE or just a comma/dot/pause/whatever. It’s a British and or legal thing (if it’s a thing at all!) and it doesn’t have anything to do in an American book by an American author. I would be ok with it if one (British) character would use it, but everyone uses it! I really don’t want to insult Sawyer. I love her books, but … please stop doing it. But pfff who am I to tell her what to do, so just forget I said anything! It doesn’t stop her books from being great!
What happens when Sawyer Bennett starts a new series… You stay up all night devouring it!! Bishop was an absolute amazing book. There were hints of the newest NHL Expansion team scattered throughout this book, if you aren’t a hockey fan, you are totally missing out. The characters on this new team are amazing and well developed. The storyline, so crazy it works and hooks you from page one! This is a one-sitter for sure. Even in the midst of working, cooking, and having kids home on summer break, managed to read cover to cover in about 5 hours. 10 Super Pucks!!! Cannot wait for Erik!!!
What an amazing honest genuine love story. Even though it started out with a lie this was by far the most honest to goodness love story ever. The only lie in this whole relationship was the first one told to Brook’s dad that they were dating for a while and they were engaged. From there their relationship took root. They were completely at ease with each other. Sure it started out as a lie but they enjoyed being with each other. Yes the sex was great from the start. Both thought it was a one night stand and the best they ever had. But soon it became more than just sex. Brooke actually wanted to get to know Bishop and vice versa. Aside from a psycho friend from New York Brooke and Bishop were able to build a relationship together. This truly was an honest to goodness love story. There were no expectations to live up to so they got to know one another and realize that there was something there. Something to build on. They enjoyed being with one another and not only in the bedroom, which might I add were some really hot scenes. They had chemistry but so much more. The didn’t build walls around their feelings they were completely at ease with each other and enjoyed getting to know each other.
I don’t know much about hockey but Sawyer Bennett has made me a fan. Her books are hot hot hot and before you know it you are a fan of whatever sport she is writing about. Bishop is the first in a new series and I cannot wait for more.
Bishop is the first book in the new Arizona Vengeance series by Sawyer Bennett.
Bishop Scott is a professional hockey player who is signed on to the new Vengeance team. The day before training camp he has a one night stand with Brooke. He never thought he would see her again after that night.
Brooke, who is also new to Arizona, decided to have a one night stand with Bishop and never expected to see him again, until he showed up in her office at the new Vengeance arena and her father caught them in an intimate situation.
Real one night stand, fake engagement, fake relationship turned real, one crazy psycho, many steamy scenes. This story is fantastic.
My one issue is that I felt it just ended, there wasn’t closure to Brooke and Bishop, but since this is a series I am hoping we get more of them and their relationship in the future stories with Erik and Legend.
4 Stars!
Bishop Scott is a professional hockey player who just relocated from New York to Phoenix to play for the NHL’s newest expansion team, the Arizona Vengeance. He’s going to have to adjust to a new city, coach and team. It’s the last night before training camp starts. He decides the perfect way to end his summer vacation is a night out with friends. He also hopes to find someone to spend the evening with. He meets a gorgeous woman named Brooke, and has one of the best one night stands of his life.
Bishop never expects to see Brooke again, so he’s shocked when he arrives at the arena and she’s at his place of employment. He soon learns she’s Brooke Perron, the daughter of his new head coach. When they are caught by her father in an intimate embrace, Brooke panics, and announces they are engaged. Things escalate and Bishop finds himself agreeing to this farce. He figures what harm can a few weeks of a fake engagement do. Brooke is stunning, and he wouldn’t mind a little more time with her. They have a game plan and an expiration date. No expectations or complications. They are both thoroughly enjoying the benefits of their arrangement, and can’t get enough of each other. Soon all the pretending begins to feel real, and they suddenly have to keep reminding themselves this is all to be an act. Brooke is falling hard for Bishop which isn’t part of the deal, and at the same time Bishop is realizing he doesn’t want things to end between them.
Book one in the Arizona Vengeance series kicked off the series with a fabulous start! It was sexy, and full of passion and unexpected love. I can’t wait for Erik’s book up next! :))
It’s been a minute since I’ve read a Sawyer hockey book. Dayum I forgot how hot and sexy her hockey players are. Bishop and Broke started off with a bang and they never got boring. I thought it was a pretty good fake fiancé story. Of course there’s other hockey hotties that I can’t wait to read about. I’d say the only thing that threw me was the ending. It just sorta stopped, abruptly. I was bummed that there was no epilogue, but that’s just me. I’m an epilogue type of gal.
Bishop took me by surprise. The Fake Fiancee story line is not new, however the way the author wrote these characters was refreshing. These characters are smart, witty, sexy, and the book is just a fun read.
Bishop and Brooke went into this farce with their eyes wide open. I liked the fact that neither one of them put more into the relationship than the other. It wasn’t a one-sided love affair for one person and we had to wait until the end of the book for the other person to finally “see the light” Both characters knew the score and the feelings grew between them at the same pace. It made it more believable.
I also enjoyed the fact that, Ms.Bennett didn’t make Brooke the type of female who would fall for her “friend’s” obvious ploy to cause trouble with Bishop. She believed Bishop when he told her what happened, and was willing to give up something important to her, to save his job and reputation.
This was a good read.
ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Bishop and Brooke are to die for! I cannot get enough of them and the team! Sawyer always does hockey right!
I loved how this book is starting the new series off! There is the romance and the heat! My god, the heat! There is enough to melt the ice in the arena! There was drama in the best of ways. Also getting a glimpse into the other players and what we can look forward to in the next books!!!
Brooke is starting out in her new career in Arizona and decides to go out and meet a new co-worker and is stood-up. Bishop comes to the rescue when a guy gets a little too forward at the bar and they hit it off. And by hit it off, I mean burn up the pages with a steamy one night stand.
Bishop is getting ready to start the new season with the new franchise team, the Arizona Vengeance, and it hoping to make a great impact and play some killer hockey. He has high hopes for his new team and wants nothing more than to go after the cup!
The last thing either of them expected was to walk into work the next day and see each other again – Bishop as the player and Brooke as the “boss”. Her father, the teams coach, walks in and finds them in a intimate embrace and Brooke flubs that they are dating… no, not just dating… but ENGAGED! Bishop decides to go along with it and they create this story of how they met and their fairy tale romance… much to others chagrin.
Once again, Sawyer delivers a story that is so much more!
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
Sawyer Bennett’s Arizona Vengeance series is off to a fantastic start! I’ve always enjoyed Sawyer’s hockey series and this one is going to be no exception.
Bishop Scott has been traded from New York to the new expansion team, the Arizona Vengeance. He’s trying to find his footing with a new team, a new routine and a new town. While out at a bar one night, he sets his sights on a beautiful woman across the bar who is definitely returning the vibes he’s sending off. Of course he just thinks it will be a one night stand and that’s that. Little does he know that the woman is going to end up becoming a huge part of his life…
Brooke Perron is also new to Arizona and she’s only there so she can help out her father who is still grieving the death of her mother and his wife. She wants to support her Dad, so she left a job she loved in New York to follow him and now that means that she is working where he does – for the Arizona Vengeance.
When Bishop and Brooke come face-to-face in the Vengeance offices after their one night together, they are both stunned. They are still very much attracted to one another and it’s clear that Brooke had no idea that Bishop was one of her father’s star players. When the two are caught in a compromising position by Brooke’s father, who also is Bishop’s head coach, Brooke quickly tells him they are engaged. Of course she does it to save Bishop a rash of grief from his new boss, but is it actually going to get them into a situation that will be harder to get out of or does it have the makings of a relationship that could go from fake to forever?
This was really enjoyable, the story was great and the characters were solid. I did feel like the ending was a little bit abrupt. I would have liked an epilogue or something that tied things up the drama that caused issues for them a little bit more. Overall, a very solid start to this new series. I am definitely looking forward to more!
Bishop by Sawyer Bennett is part of the new ice hockey series, an Arizona Vengeance novel and tells the story of Bishop and Brooke.
Bishop is a player on the new expansion team and Brook is the coach’s daughter. She also works for the team and when her father catches them together, after a one-night stand she lies and tells her father they are engaged.
If you loved Sawyer Bennett’s Carolina Cold Fury series, also about hockey players you will love the beginning of this series. Each story can be read as a stand-a-lone.
This is a sweet, fun story told from a dual point of view and you will have to read the story to see if Bishop and Brooke turn a fake engagement into a real one.
I think you’ll enjoy the start of this new series and I can’t wait for Erik’s story, which is coming soon.
I found it so cute and entertaining! This series is going to be so much fun. Bishop and Brooke’s time together is a mess with the potential to get bigger with each lie but he won’t let that happen. Instead he makes the moments endearing and takes the time to get to know her. She practically molds to him. But how can she not?! He is incredibly manly, charming and protective as well. Plus he is so adorable when he doesn’t want to accept the reality of his feelings but still manages to continue a relationship under the idea of a ruse. An unwanted guest will keep everyone on their toes, will have you wanting to strangle her and will threaten their new and easy flowing lives. But Bishop won’t let that happen, what they have is just too natural.
Well if Bishop is any indication, this is going to be another fantastic hockey series by Sawyer Bennett! The Arizona Vengeance is a new expansion team and Bishop Scott is one of it’s star players. Brooke is new to Arizona so she does not know who the hot and sexy man is that she decides to have a steamy one night stand with. It isn’t until the next day when he shows up in her office, because she is working for the Vengeance and her father is the coach. Yikes! This is certainly an interesting turn of events that sets off some more very interesting events. Can a one night stand, that becomes a fake relationship, turn into forever?
I absolutely love Bishop & Brooke! It’s such a fun and sexy read!
Bishop is the first book in the Arizona Vengeance series. Bishop and Brooke had to fake their romance after getting caught in a compromising position by Brooke’s father, who is also Bishop’s coach. This hockey romance was a fun read and very enjoyable.
Review copy was received for an honest opinion.
If you love Hockey you will fall in love with The Arizona Vengeance a Brand new series by Sawyer Bennett.
Bishop Scott is the first Player we meet on this new expansion team that comes to Arizona. Getting accustomed to a new team and a new city he goes out with friends and never expects to meet Brooke Perron.
Brooke Perron is new to Arizona after moving from NYC to be closer to her father after a life changing event. A night out to meet a friend turns into a night of meeting Bishop Scott.
What Brooke & Bishop never expect is to see each other again but when “fate” changes that you can’t help feel their chemistry fall off the pages.
We will see Bishop & Brooke have to deal with some secrets and lies but you can’t help cheer them to find a reason to find that HEA.
Book#1 of a new series and I can tell it’s going to be great. Bishop and Brooke’s story is just lovely. It is very low angst so we can just enjoy meeting this brand new cast of characters. This startup hockey team reminds me of the newest expansion team in the NHL, Vegas. By reading, you can tell that Sawyer did a lot of research on this book. The reality of the sport was not hidden. Sometimes when an author writes a sports romance, you can honestly tell that they just wrote without research. The story flowed and honestly was so good that I just enjoyed watching Brooke and Bishop’s relationship grow from a one night stand to full-on love. It’s a fun story that you won’t want to put down. The book is steamy and sexy as well. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger. I can’t wait to meet the women who will tame the rest of the Vengeance men.
