This was better than an episode of Maury Povich. I love this series and getting to know more than one side to a character. The Lake Starlight Buzz Wheel gossip blog is at it again. A stranger with a baby is hunting down a Bailey! The question is…which one?
No spoilers here but I enjoyed the squirming among the male Bailey candidates. Our hero is thrown as anyone would be since it’s been almost 2 yrs since their encounter with Harley. Some are suspicious of Harley’s intentions but her priority is her daughter’s welfare. I would recommend this book but start the series from the beginning so you get the full scope of characters. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.
A new rom-com from Piper Rayne!
4 stars
Another adorable installment in the Bailey’s series! The author duo of Piper Rayne delivers a one-two punch in the form of the awesome Bailey baby daddy and his oh so adorable daughter!! The hero, who shall remain nameless for this review, takes to fatherhood like a duck to water and goes all in on winning over mama duck, too! I really enjoyed Harley as fierce and fiesty baby mama. Add in the usual Bailey drama and shenanigans and this is one fun, super sweet ride. Highly recommended read!

Okay, so here’s the deal this is going to be a super short review because there is NO WAY I am blowing the secret on which twin, Denver or Rome, is the Baby Daddy but I will say I was right in who I thought it was! 😉
Harley had a one-night-stand and the results were a beautiful baby girl named Calista. Being brought up in foster care and not knowing her own medical background has driven Harley to find Calista’s father which brings her to Alaska. If you read Advice from a Jilted Bride, and I hope you did because it was really good, you know we were left with a cliff hanger where Harley walks into Rome’s new restaurant where she meets not one but two guys that look like the one she slept with, so who is the Baby Daddy, Denver or Rome?
This was a great addition to the series, it had a lot of steamy moments and moments that will make you fall for the Hero with the way he easily falls into his roll as Calista’s father. The Baileys all rally around and make Harley and Calista feel welcomed and it’s easy to fall in love with them all. This was such an enjoyable read I would recommend reading the series in order but this can be read as a standalone if you chose to do so. Happy Reading!!!

Harley Miller is out looking for answers. Rome Bailey shows that you’re never too old to play twin games. What’s nice about this book is that we get to know the Bailey family a little better. We also get to know the extended family some more. And we get to go to Alaska without having to get on a plane.
I know our two main characters are great but I just fall more in love with G’Ma D. It’s hard not to love a book when you can connect with a character whether they are the one the story is about or a secondary character. G’Ma D brings back good memories of my own grandmother and you may feel the same. Another character I fell in love with was Calista – you can never go wrong with babies and animals.
Now on to our main characters. I liked the fact that Harley wanted more for her daughter than what she had growing up. She was willing to travel in order to do give her daughter some family love – and that includes some quirky family members. Rome has a job that makes others happy. Who doesn’t love a man who can cook? Reminds me of the Sundays when my father would cook us breakfast.
It was hard not to reminisce with this latest Bailey family book. There’s just so much that people can connect to and this is what makes the story seem so realistic. Something I love about our authors is that I still can’t figure out which author wrote what. But I know that I’m going to get lost into the world they have created. It’s a story where you’re going to be able to laugh. The authors also must have known that I was happily going along because we get that devilish moment when they put in a twist.
You could start the series here and not feel lost but if you want to experience the feeling of being a part of the Baileys you need to start at the beginning. Each consecutive book builds on the book before it. And I’ll give you a hint; G’Ma D also gets better with each story. Our authors would also be very good in the travel business. They show Alaska has some interesting people that you may want to go and get to know them better. I loved the ending. It gave me plenty of laughs and hints about which Bailey is coming next. I can’t wait!
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
4 1/2 stars
I totally loved reading this book from the very first word to the last, that’s why I gave it the extra half a star because it had that extra sparkle and made you want to read it as fast as possible.
Harley Sullivan and her baby Calista arrive in small town called Lake Starlight, Alaska to get DNA prove of Calista’s father. This is just the beginning of her adventure…Lake Starlight has a blog that seems to delight in highlighting private moments captured without the resident’s knowledge..that is until the next blog release! Just who is this intrepid blogger is anyone’s guess but a mystery none the less.
Arriving in the town Harley finds the Bailey family are all supportive and caring plus extremely helpful. People generally open their arms and hearts up to her but especially to Calista, who is adorable. Harley is a great character, so are the Baileys and the rest of the townsfolk. G’ma Dori is an absolute hoot of a character and often steals the show with her blue rinse, bragging to Ethel and sneaky ways with her family. I love her!
There is some terrific humour in the book, the kitchen scene where Harley was cooking for the other lead character is one prime example, so funny, the visuals are hilarious. There are also deep, serious issues that are dealt with in very smooth, clever ways that don’t overwhelm the story or reader.
I thoroughly recommend this to everyone as it is a sensational read.
And the Bailey’s are back in the Buzz Wheel. They always get in there for such delicious antics. This time; however, is for one Bailey, a life-changing event. Harley came into town looking for the father of her child. Not realising that the father was an identical twin. The Hero never for one minute ever thought that at the age of 25 a child would be calling him Da-da.
Through highs and lows, the Hero proves to everyone around him that he is far more than an easy laid back kind of guy. He has a career he loves and he finds himself navigating through the new responsibilities of being a father and how inherently natural some of this is to some people. Parenting books can’t always teach what nature gives.
For anyone who has read the other two previous Bailey books, you would have already come to the profound realisation of how much G-Ma D is loved by her family, the town and by us readers. G-Ma D fills the pages with hilarity and just a sprinkle of home truths when they are necessary.
‘“Go you two. I going to lock up. Ethel is nosey and the one time I forgot to lock the door, I came home to her watching her Netflix account. She watches the stupidest stuff so now my recommendations all suggest I watch Our Planet. Hello…I’m going to be dead soon. Who has time for that?”’
Harley has had a hard upbringing and doesn’t trust many people. She tends to run rather than confront. As well as seeing herself as a fully fledged member of the hard knocks club.
‘I’m not a new puppy filled with hope for an attachment. I’m the five-year-old dog that’s bounced from shelter to shelter.’
Two things these authors do well is comedy and romance. They heat the pages up and have often sent me to the kitchen in need of an ice cold drink. With Harley and the Hero, these things are ramped up to a factor of ten. I couldn’t see Harley with anyone else by the middle of this book and I was so very much rooting for them to get to their happily ever after.
On a side note: I have never, ever laughed so much over such a small cooking faux pas. What do they always tell you about jalapenos? Well somebody found that out and there ended us being a very funny scene involving someone with greek yogurt on them and the other using milk. I cannot say anymore, I nearly forgot how to breathe I laughed so hard.
Of course, by the end of this, we know who the next Bailey is to get their book and their target of affection is someone I cannot wait to watch the explosions go off with. A mortar would be quieter than these two will be getting together. Well done ladies, you’ve outdone yourselves…again!
Piper Rayne has written a secret baby romance with a secret daddy too! I had no idea which Bailey will get the happily ever after and trust me you will be so happy and surprised to read about him. My lips are sealed about that but I am going to shout from the rooftop how much I loved this romance!
I love Lake Starlight with everything I have in my heart. I never want to stop reading about them. Harley has come to find the father of her baby girl Calista from one night stand because Calista has a congenital disease. But she can’t leave because the father, a Bailey wants to connect with daughter. And before she knows she is taken under the Bailey wing and she starts to have feelings for the baby daddy. But that enigmatic, handsome, caring guy never committed to anyone before. Would this time be different?
Piper Rayne never fails to make me laugh and swoon with their stories. It’s like they have a hot line to my heart! This story is so amazing. It was hardcore romantic to the last word. It was sassy, hilarious and a blast altogether. I felt lighter than a cloud while reading it. It also has the perfect dose of heartbreak and heat. I was wrapped up in the warm blanket of small town bonding and true family love. The sexy, sweet and spicy love story pulled all the strings of my heart and won me over.
Received ARC for Honest Review
I’m going to start by saying that I will refer to the baby daddy as BD so I don’t spoil that surprise for other. I didn’t read book 2 in the series so it wasn’t a big deal for me but I’m glad that she found BD. He may have been a player and cocky but he really stepped up in this story. Harley really opened her self up when it came to BD and I am so glad that she took that step. BD may have been a player in the past but the ones who fight it always fall the hardest and BD fell hard for Harley.
The love wasn’t instantly there and I liked the whole courting period that BD and Harley went through. Add in a nosy family, a crazy Doodoo and this story was awesome. I loved the dynamic between all the characters. They were fun and had each others backs. This is so hard to review because it should be lift vague. I will say that I laughed and swooned many times. The characters had ups and downs but in the end they got a HEA that they deserved. 4 stars #2OCCJD
This is the 2nd book I read by Piper Rayne. I loved this book’s storyline. This book’s storyline made me laugh . I loved the hot & steamy scenes. I loved Harley’s character. I loved Rome’s character. I loved Calista. I loved the ending. Awesome job Ms. Piper & Ms. Rayne.
The beginning of Rome and Harley’s story immediately added some drama to the mix. The story was fast paced, funny, and enjoyable. Reading a Bailey book is like going home to visit family and good friends.
I had to read this book carefully in order to realize that Rome and Harley’s relationship was not one of instalove. The relationship grew over time. I think because of the fast pace of the book, it seemed like things were moving extremely fast.
I liked Rome and Harley together. I liked the way Rome accepted and embraced Calista. I love the way the other Bailey’s and family friends did the same. I enjoyed the fact that the twist toward the end did not go one forever.
This turned out to be a lighthearted, sweet, witty, fun romance with a surprising HEA.
My favorite book of the series so far!! Birth Of A Baby Daddy was the 3rd book in Piper Rayne’s Bailey Series. It was hilarious, sweet, and oh so sexy!!
Harley was on a mission to find her baby’s daddy, but she soon found out she was looking for the wrong man. She may have been given the wrong name, and they even used protection, but her baby was still his. Would finding him be a big mistake or the best decision of her life?
I laughed so many times throughout this book. The milk scene…seriously, I almost peed my pants!! The humor was nicely sprinkled in with all the sweet scenes of the two trying to find their way through. (P.S. – exactly how fertile are those two???)
The Bailey Family gets a little bit larger when Rome Bailey discovers that a one night stand two years ago resulted in a baby girl named Calista. Holly comes to Lake Starlight to break the news to Rome. She only expects to stay a few days, but Rome convinces her to stay longer so that he can bond with Calista. Their story is sweet, challenging, and of course witty. Even though they burned the sheets two years ago, they are virtual strangers. The relationship is not rushed, but a slow steady burn. All the Baileys are present to lend love and support. And don’t forget Grandma Dori!! You know she’s steering the wheel with this relationship!
Love the Baileys!!
3.5 Stars – Not as I expected but still enjoyable to read.
Besides Savannah’s story, this one was the most anticipated book in this series for me, especially after how book #2 ended. I was so excited and had high expectations with a storyline like that, because there were so many possibilities and you just never knew on which path it would lead you.
The story had a fast pace, was quick and easy to read and very enjoyable. As always, I loved the Bailey family and how fun they were. I can’t say that I got to know much about Harley but she seemed like a nice woman who lived her life without much drama as she had enough of that while growing up. Calista was a sweet kid and I liked how everyone seemed to be smitten with her.
The beginning of the story was great with Harley coming into this small gossiping town and looking for her baby’s daddy. It was a great start but not long after, when she was still somewhat of a stranger after only a couple of days in Lake Starlight, the time jumping forward and rushing the story along kept me from connecting with the characters. It took away some great things from the story because I would have liked to see more of the first moments between the father and his child as well as with Harley. I also expected him to struggle a bit with his new role in life and the responsibility for another human being, having to learn his way with a baby. But sadly this was all taken away and showed hardly any development but jumped right into the almost perfect family. I also didn’t like Harley’s rash decisions without further thoughts.
Maybe my high expectations of this book and its unused potential were the reasons why I was slightly disappointed.
Don’t get me wrong, it was still a very well written story with a few funny moments in true Piper Rayne fashion (absolutely loved the kitchen scene!) and some hot sequences, but I guess I expected a bit more depth all things considered. It also wasn’t as memorable of a story as other’s in this series were. Nonetheless, I’m looking forward to the next book, especially because it will be about one of my favorite members of the Bailey clan.
So just to let you know this is the first I have read of this hilarious family, the Baileys. Won’t be the last though for Piper Rayne pulled me in with their crazy shenanigans. I love that Piper created Harley to be tough yet also needing a love she never has had before growing up. The Baileys can be scary but man when they love you watch out. Now Rome Bailey have to say he was bad in the beginning yet with the right woman he can be deliciously sexy. It’s not just these two but Piper brings the whole clan even a funny, crazy grandma you will love all over again.

Another funny Rom-Com from Piper Rayne- Lana ~White Hot Reads
Birth of a Baby Daddy is book 3 in The Baileys series. The book starts off with twins Rome and Denver trying to figure out which one of them is the father to baby Calista. Harley is just a shocked when she realizes that their are two of them. I can’t tell you which one ends up being the father but let it be known that once he does find out that he is there 100%. Baby daddy and Harley are perfect for each other and help the other out with figuring out their issues. I can wait for the next book in this series.
