Arrogant, rude, hated by everyone in town…
And 100% NOT my type.
How the hell am I supposed to fix everything wrong with Drake Slade?
Lord give me strength because the moment I meet him,
The only thing I want to do is kiss that smug look off his cocky face.
Yeah okay, so that’s not the ONLY thing I want to do to him.

Was the day I was convinced my life was over.
Raise and promotion be damned,
What good is it if the only place in town is a dollar store?
But here I am, wearing a denim skirt and cowboy boots,
Rootin and scootin my way around town,
And square dancing my way right into Drake’s bed.
Don’t worry, I have a plan.
It’s just a little rough and dirty fun to make my time here pass,
Get the town to love him and move my ass back to LA.
I will NOT lust after my new billionaire client.
I will NOT fantasize about all the naughty things I wish he’d do to me,
And I will ABSOLUTELY not fall in love!

OMG…Alexis gives us a winner!! Drake and Celeste are total opposites but that doesn’t stop the chemistry from burning. The story is captivating, has intriguing characters and a fantastic ending. You’ll be hooked like I was. I definitely recommend this book and looking forward to reading more from this series.

Definitely a 5 star read!
I must say that after reading many of Ms. Winter’s books, and this one is definitely one of the best (if not the best). She pulls the reader into the story with Celeste being a total attorney and Drake being her client as well as hated by everyone in town. When they “click” they begin spending a great deal of time together, and she is convinced that she is doing the right thing. Be prepared to read the entire story before you can put it aside.
Kudos to Ms. Winter!!
Alexis Winter has written a 5-star book that will keep you reading from the first page to the last page. Celeste is a lawyer and she has just been told by her boss that the company wants her to take over the office in Colorado and the largest client they have there for the next year. She makes a deal with them for her taking over in Colorado so she goes. Drake is the owner of Slade Brewery and he wants to expand but he is having problems with some of the families in town. This is the reason why Celeste has been sent out to Colorado. When she and Drake meet for the first time things don’t go well. He tells her how he wants things done and that he expects them done his way. She just lets him have it back and they come to an understanding. There is an attraction between them and they both know it is wrong. Drake has not had this type of feelings since his ex-girlfriend left him. As they spend more time together, the more their feelings grow. Harrison catches them and he tells Drake to stay away from Celeste and then Celeste to stay away from Drake since she is only going to be there for a year. As they spend more time together their feelings change and they end up getting together. Celeste has gotten the problem with the families and Drake’s expedition approved with the signatures of the families. Celeste and Drake went to the bar for something to eat and after Celeste leaves Drake’s ex-girlfriend shows up and asks to talk to him. She tries to get back with him but he tells her that he is not falling for her again. Celeste has just about 5 months left and Drake knows that she wants things to happen back in California so he has one last night with her and then breaks up with her through a note. In this note, he tells her that the way he felt for her, he has never felt for anyone else. He writes that he wants her to fall in love and to know that the longer they spend together the harder it will be to end it later. After she finds the note, she decides that she is not going to let him break up with her through a note so she goes by his house. He is not there so she goes by the Brewery but when she gets there she is not allowed to talk to Drake. Harrison sees her and tells her that if they are meant to be that things will work out. It would be better for her to leave. After she gets back to her hotel room she gets a call from her boss telling her that since she dealt with Drake’s problem quicker than the year they wanted her to come back to the California office. She packs her car and goes by her office to her stuff from there then leaves Colorado. Drake has a talk with one of his brothers and he is told that he needs to go after Celeste. Drake goes by her office to talk to her but she is not there and then he goes by her hotel room and finds her room empty. She has left. He realizes that he needs her in his life so he has only one more place to check and that is the bar. When he gets to the bar Celeste is not there and he asks Stephine if she knows anything and she tells him that she is gone back home. He asks that if she knows anything to please tell him because he loves her. She hands him a piece of paper. Drake gets a ticket and he goes to California.
Can Celeste get past her feelings for Drake and move on with her life?
Will Drake get Celeste to give him another chance to do the right thing?
This was a wonderful book to read and I would recommend it to anyone.

Wow! This was a fun read with just enough angst to keep you rooting for these characters. Celeste is a highly successful lawyer who’s eyes are set on earning partnership at her firm. She is surprised when her boss wants to send her to the Colorado office for a year and finish work on a large account there. After promising her some fantastic perks upon her return to L.A., she agrees. Waiting for her in Colorado is Drake, her client. He is an extremely difficult man to deal with. He has kept to himself ever since his heart had been broken years earlier, when his love left their small town because it wasn’t enough for her. Celeste and Drake are attracted to eat other upon their first meeting, but is it smart to “play” where you work? Also, he’ll never leave his small town, and her life and dreams are back in L.A. Is it worth the risk? Do they take a change of falling in love???

This is book one in the Slade Brothers Series. Celeste and Drake should never have met, let alone being interested in each other. Drake was a small town type of guy and Celeste was a big city girl with all the perks. Drake was devastated when four years ago the woman he loved left him. So he decided to leave Celeste before she left him. Interesting story with hot chemistry and well defined characters. Good read!

This was a wonderfully fun and romantic story of Drake and Celeste. Drake Slade is an arrogant Colorado billionaire, owner of a brewery with certain expansion issues. Celeste is the attorney in Los Angeles working for the firm handling Drake’s legal work and is the lucky one assigned to this special project. Drake may be hated by the town, but there is more to him than meets the eye. Can Celeste dig down deep and find the man under that difficult outer shell? Will they both realize that the thing that was missing in their lives was love?
This was a good story with humor and likable characters, once you scratch the surface. Grab your copy and enjoy the well-paced story line to see if they find that HEA they both need!
I enjoyed reading the Billionaire’s Unexpected Bride, it pulled me in and had me tearing through the pages to the end. There were a few spots that lost me for a moment, but overall this is a great start to the Slade Brother Series.
The characters are perfectly written. I enjoyed watching Celeste’s character develop over the story. She might be big city girl head to the country, but handles herself perfectly not letting the fact she can’t get coffee on every corner stop her. Drake’s character breaks my heart, he is struggling with a broken heart after his long time girl friend left town, but being around Celeste opened his eyes.
I still have a lingering question that I hope more of the mystery is brought to light in the next book.

California vs Colorado
This book is well written and full of twists and turns in regards to Grant and Celeste.
Throw an ex in there, a co-worker wanting to know her better and one that has been a rival since college.
I enjoyed the sparks that started at the beginning.
Honestly can not wait to read the remaining books on the Slade Brothers

I have read a good number of Alexis Winter books over the last year and I have loved every book I have read by her. As an author she has the ability to make these strong women, sometimes that get stuck in crummy situations, that end up being fierce female leads that you wish could be your friends in real life. She also makes amazing hot, alpha males that are super drool-worthy but I really like to celebrate the female characters she writes. This story was no exception, Celeste was a total boss babe.
The story starts out with Celeste walking into work and being called up to one of the partner’s offices. In that meeting she finds out that she is about to land one of the biggest accounts the company has and that she will need to relocate to Colorado for a year to oversee the office there. Y’all, she was a total boss about negotiating the deal and setting herself up with a pretty sweet promotion. Drake Slade might be hated by everyone in town but the chemistry between these two is scorching hot from the get go. The more time they spend together, the deeper they feel but when it comes time for Celeste to return to LA they will have to determine how to make things work.
I’m gonna be honest, if the author describes the male lead as “Arrogant, rude, hated by everyone in town” I already know I’m gonna love him… this is like good girl kryptonite. He isn’t really that bad of guy, he’s just still heartbroken after his fiance left him four years ago and it seems like Celeste might just be what he needs to finally move on. I felt so connected with Celeste in this story, mostly because I have been stuck in nowheresville Colorado myself but only for a few days, and there was no hunky billionaire there to make me swoon. Not only were the characters extremely likable, but the plot was interesting and it kept me hooked in. I definitely was up til the wee hours of the morning rushing to finish this story but also never wanting it to end.
I highly recommend this story and this author!

Celeste is an attorney who was to move up in the law firm she works for. Drake is a broken man who owns a brewery in a small town that uses the firm she works for. There unplanned meeting due to work and how they changed each other’s life was a very good story to read. Celeste spent her life working and didn’t realize what she was missing was someone to love. Drake lets go and finally let’s love heal him. I always enjoy Alexis books and I’m honored to receive and ARC copy in exchange for my honest review.

I received an arc for an honest review. I think this might be my favorite book by Ms. Winter. This story brings us Drake and Celeste. Celeste is a famous agent in LA, but since her friend and client moved to Colorado, she decides to buy a fixer upper there. She hires Drake (they’ve never met before) to do the work on her new house. Upon her arrival, she meets a naked man, who low and behold is Drake. In previous phone conversations, Drake isn’t impressed with Celeste, but when they see each other – sparks fly. This is such an good storyline – I highly recommend this book.
I found this story to be a very enjoyable read with a great storyline and well developed characters! I felt as each and every page was turned Celeste and Drake pulled me right into their journey as it unfolded!
This one by Alexis Winter was good and I enjoyed the journey Drake and Celeste take to get to their HEA. There was lots of humor once they meet and when the layers hiding the man Drake really is started to drop, that’s when things got really interesting! I didn’t feel the same was true for Celeste until the very end and would have liked her character to be more well developed. Witty banter, lots of angst and heat and the ultimate, soul-baring HEA make this one I highly recommend.

Wow.. I loved this book. Believable characters with a realistic story line which just pulled you in right from the start. You felt all the emotions and could not help rooting for their HEA. You will not be disappointed with this book. Highly recommend.

It took me a few chapters to really get into the story but once I did I really liked it, especially how Celeste and Drake were completely different but exactly what the other needed.

Arrogant billionaire Drake Slade met his match in Celeste, the brilliant new lawyer from California . Well written, wonderful characters and great story line. Definitely a must read. I received an ARC for my honest opinion
Lifestyle change
3.5
Very good tender romance whose heroes I really liked. They live alone and for good reason: Céleste’s sole objective is to succeed in her lawyer career, as for Drake, a brewer who wants to expand his business, he has been depressed since his ex-fiancée left him 4 years ago because their lives wasn’t enough for her. Having made her reflect a promotion, Céleste is sent by her cabinet for 1 year to a village in Colorado to help Drake for his project, knowing that the villagers hate Drake’s family. These two people determined not to have a relationship, with diametrically opposed lifestyles, are immediately attracted despite the countdown of 1 year.
So I really liked the characters, and their relationship is hot, but the reason for Celeste’s arrival is the relationship between Drake and the villagers, and is ultimately very little addressed. In addition, the title does not seem appropriate to me, except the unexpected side of the meeting.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
This is not my favorite by this author. But it still a fun read. It just didn’t match my expectations. But I do look forward to meeting the other brothers and seeing if their books work for me more. This book just didn’t. So, just shy of 4 star, because it was still a good book.
