HarperI was perfectly content with my life. My career was booming. I traveled. I did as much charity work as I possibly could for the homeless, and I was perfectly happy with the choices I’d made. At least…I was–until my sister, Dani, came up missing. As an international correspondent, she traveled to war-torn countries, and she’d stepped a little too far over the line. With my sibling … my sibling kidnapped and running out of time, I had no option except to approach Marcus Colter for help.
Seeing Marcus again after having him break my heart over a decade ago wasn’t easy, but to my relief, the old feelings I thought I might still harbor for him were completely gone. He was like a stranger to me. After meeting with him, my only emotion was gratitude that he was going to try to rescue my sister.
Before I could relax about feeling nothing for Marcus, I met Blake Colter, and realized every emotion I thought I’d have for Marcus was suddenly present for the gorgeous US senator.
It was ridiculous. I hadn’t seen Blake since we were kids.
How could I have given myself to Marcus so many years ago, yet have these feelings for his twin brother, Blake?
The more time I spent with Blake, waiting for my sister to be rescued, the more confused I became about my attraction to him.
Then, my entire world came crashing down when I found out that everything I thought was true for over a decade wasn’t the truth at all.
What happens when a woman finds out that a man she’d both loved and hated for over a decade never really existed at all?

Most of the time I’m screaming at J.S. Scott’a men to crack a damn smile. But Blake he is my kind of guy. To me he is the most swoon worthy yet, perfect.
Sigh!! Only in Author J.S. Scott’s books do I ever fantasize about having my very own Billionaire to love me.
It’s not about the money, I mean obviously it doesn’t hurt to be spoiled every now and then. It’s more the passion, love, protectiveness and yes even the possessiveness. I mean it’s one complete hot package. Whenever I read a book in this series, I can’t help but smile. It just warms me up inside. Then when things become intense and sexually charged, I do declare I am no longer warm but as hot as a volcano about to erupt.
Blake Colter, aww yes I’m sighing again. He is such a beautiful man inside and out. He wears his heart on his sleeve, not a chance he could hide his feelings for the woman he loves most in the world.
Marcus Colter I find myself giggling when thinking of him. I dare say his story will be one not to be missed. He is the silent, strong broody type. God, I can see it all now, I bet he can light up a bedroom like no other Billionaire.
These two incredibly magnificent men are very much identical twins but only in features, everything else they are so non-identical.
Harper was once a spoiled brat until something so profound happened when she was eighteen years old, and trust a Colter boy to be right in the center of it.
The events of over a decade ago changed Harper and left Colter with the question, Why? For to many years to count.
Speeding up to the present day Harper’s sister Dani goes missing, well she’s actually kidnapped. Jesus, who would go into hostile territory willingly? Not me that’s for sure. Harper feels she is left with no other option but to come face to face with Marcus Colter, and beg him to help save her sister.
Now when reading this encounter I was shouting at my kindle because let’s face it when you know something and the character doesn’t know what you know, it becomes a situation where you want them to know. You know what I mean? Yeah, I know I am losing the plot but it just goes to show you how into the story I was.
While plans were set in motion and the bad boy, Marcus Colter was away to save the day. Blake Colter was stepping into Marcus’s shoes once again.
Blake and Harper were getting along famously but Blake didn’t want to take advantage of Harper. I mean she was in a vulnerable state with her sister being held hostage, so he was playing the part of a gentleman. Did Harper need a gentleman right now though? Of course not, she wanted him to ripped her clothes off and buried himself so deep in her he couldn’t find his way back out. WOW!! Yeah, it was so good.
Funny thing is I thought I had this story all worked out, but nope yet again this Author blew my socks right off with the nail biting scenes and surprises I didn’t even think of. For that reason alone I couldn’t rate this book anything other five billion stars.
I will always be a lover of Author J.S.Scott’s Billionaire’s Obsession. This series had me hooked way back when I first met Simon Hudson, you may have heard of me mentioning him once or a billion times. It’s become my obsession, I am what’s known in the blogging community as a One Click Aholic for these books.
I recommend you read your next obsession and download Blake.
jc scott book are all very good.
It was good, but there were some editing issues like misspelled words. I didn’t like the cliche pregnancy ending. Pregnancy is not sexy. It usually signals an end to a couple having sex on the kitchen counter when ever they feel like it. But the sex was steamy and the characters were good.
Loved this book!
Author J.S. Scott did it again. This is another amazing book in the billionaires obsession series. Blake and Harper spent a night together. Things didn’t work out for them, because of some miscommunication. 12 years later they meet up again. What will happen with them? This is a must read. I highly recommend it.
I was waiting patiently for the release of this book. I had read the prequel and I just knew this was going to be another 5 star read.
Author J.S. Scott has once again delivered a solid and epically romantic story, where true Love stands the test of Time.
Harper and Blake are another match made in heaven, although they must overcome some obstacles in order for their relationship to fully blossom.
I feel there is a huge twist in the plot so I wouldn’t like to spoil the enjoyment for readers by saying too much. All I can say is that I couldn’t put this book down and once again Jan has completely captivated me with a formidable plot and all I want from a Contemporary steamy romance. Regardless of the trials and tribulations we often see in the books we know we will get our HEA and that we will completely and irrevocably fall in love with another Alpha Billionaire.
Blake is no longer unknown to me and for that, I am truly thankful. One top pick for my reads so far and surely another BESTSELLER!!
Thank goodness the confusion has been cleared up. It made me crazy to know that Harper didn’t realize she spent the night with Blake that fateful Christmas Eve.
Of course, it doesn’t go smoothly after she realizes Blake has always had her heart. I was disappointed in Harper for keeping a secret from Blake. For all of her talk about what a great man he is, she doesn’t give him any explanations or trust in him to reveal why they can’t be together for the long-term. Other than this point, the story is good and I enjoyed the continuation of the series.
A relationship 12 years in the making and initially derailed by a case of mistaken identity. Blake Colter rescued runaway Harper Lawson all those years ago and their one night together spoiled him for any other woman. Harper may say she’s over him but in truth no one has ever measured up to Blake. Once the past gets straightened out on both sides he’s not willing to let her go. She has a secret that may be too big to overcome.
Blake & Harper’s Heartbreaking Story Is Sweet And Spicy! Their Instant Love Story Is A Feel-Good Read. Another Great Story About The Colter Family Of Colorado.
This is the tenth book in The Billionaire’s Obsession series. Books one through five are centered around Tampa, Florida. Book six is a bridge between The Sinclairs series and this series, but it also shifts the series to Colorado. Here the series continues in Colorado with Blake Colter and Harper Lawson. It also continues Marcus’s story, which has been building in trickles and is the next book in the series.
The Colter family is well-known for their good looks, genius IQ’s, and billionaire status. Widow Aileen Colter runs the family’s Rocky Springs Resort. Her late husband Russell had died in the 1990’s in an incident while traveling in the Middle East. The oldest sibling Marcus took over for his father, overseeing most of the Colter Corporation’s vast holdings and is often away on business. His twin Blake is a US Senator, sometimes referred to as the cowboy senator in reference to his cattle ranch. Zane works as a research doctor in biotechnology out of Denver. Chloe is the baby sister. She has recently graduated from vet school.
Tate Colter and Lara Bailey find love in Billionaire Untamed, book seven. In their suspenseful story, an ex-SEAL meets his match in a tough as nails FBI agent.
Billionaire Unbound, book eight, is Gabriel Walker and Chloe Colter’s story. It is a best friend’s little sister story with a serious tone. Gabe and Chloe’s story is about surviving and thriving following domestic abuse. Leading into the next book, Chloe’s ex-fiancé James admits before committing suicide to kidnapping Chloe’s best friend Ellie over six months ago. Ellie’s whereabouts are unknown.
Zane and Ellie’s story in Billionaire Undaunted, book nine, is about picking up the pieces after living in the face of evil. Zane Colter, who lives inside of his science bubble, snaps into action when Ellie Winters goes missing. Ellie finds hope and healing after living in captivity.
In this book:
Blake Colter, thirty-four, is serving the people of Colorado as their US Senator. The kind and sweet Colter twin had just completed his doctorate degree in animal genetics when he recognized that the people’s needs were not being met by the incumbent. He ran and won the senate seat. As a billionaire, he does not need to work for personal gain and he takes his responsibility as a representative to heart. He lives in a home in Georgetown while the Senate is in session, but he loves returning home to his ranch. His passion is breeding a healthier line of cattle. With his busy schedule, travelling, and devotion to both his professions, Blake’s lifestyle is not conducive to having a woman in his life. He does not have time to get emotionally attached. Some might observe that he is lonely, even if he doesn’t see it himself. There was one woman that he had felt a connection to once, but that was twelve years ago.
Harper Lawson, thirty, is passionate about helping the homeless. She attended Berkeley’s architecture program in California and by luck became known in a niche that keeps her work in high demand. She blends the old with the new, preserving historic buildings while incorporating new development. Her work has her travelling the country. She also puts her skills to work designing more simple facilities. She works to design buildings that serve the homeless. She lives a simple lifestyle by choice, knowing how lucky she is in comparison to those in need.
The Lawson family came from a town nearby Rocky Springs and they were longtime family friends of the Colters. Matriarch Aileen Colter had been best friends with Mrs. Lawson prior to her passing; the two were like sisters. Although the children had been enrolled in different school districts, they had varying levels of familiarity with one another. The Lawson children sold their parents’ home and moved away following the accident seven years ago, finding it too difficult to remain behind. Harper is the second youngest in the Lawson family. She, her twenty-nine-year-old sister Danica, and their three older brothers – Mason, Jett, and Carter – inherited their parents’ vast wealth when their parents died.
Harper had been a handful in her youth. She was spoiled and obnoxious. But when her parents finally put their feet down right before her eighteenth Christmas, stripping her of her privilege, she foolishly ran away. She had found her way to Denver and was homeless in the middle of a snowstorm on Christmas Eve. She quickly learned the meaning of shame and learned the hard way to be thankful for all she had. Someone had come to her rescue that evening. It was an unforgettable night, and twelve years later she still reflects back on it, despite her conflicted feelings. She has grown tremendously since that time – and is now known amongst her brothers as the quiet sister.
Marcus Colter, thirty-four, travels the world while running the Colter enterprise. He is a cold and emotionless control freak. His family now knows that some of his activities are of a covert nature. It helped bring Lara into the family, but that event also caused a lot of worry for his loved ones. But they don’t know everything he has been up to. He recently involved his twin Blake as a means to cover him in some of his absences. Nobody else knows, and it needs to stay that way. When family friend and irritating reporter Danica Lawson goes missing in Syria, he calls his twin Blake and starts making plans.
Blake and Harper’s tender and emotional story is about second chances in love and life. They have incredible chemistry together, but twelve years is a long time and people change. Blake is dreamy – smart, charismatic, hard-working, and devoted. Harper is so subtle she could blend into the background. She is a portrait in humility. She has done a complete one-eighty since her youth, devoting herself selflessly to helping others. While Marcus’s story simmers in the background, Blake and Harper finally come face to face again. Their reunion is heartwarming and the couple earns their HEA.
For those that pay attention to detail, some details in the series do not line up perfectly from book to book. This book picks up in late winter, probably four to six months after the last book left off based on Blake’s age (and that Zane and Ellie were probably married in the fall). Marcus had just recruited Blake to stand-in for him for the first time during that epilogue. There are two timestamps. First, Blake is thirty-four here, and in the last book he was roughly thirty-three or thirty-four. Additionally, Lara has one year left of college in this book. With her prior career in the FBI, she almost certainly had a degree already when she went back to school. It is unclear whether she is earning a second degree or a graduate degree, nor how long that program was expected to take to complete. We do know that Blake has stood-in for his twin multiple times by the time this story begins.
Trying to picture the family and their ages can be tricky. Based on facts pieced together here and in the previous Colter stories, here is a summary of the approximate ages of the Colter kids as this story begins: Marcus and Blake, twins – thirty-four, Zane – thirty-three, Tate – thirty-two, and Chloe, thirty-one.
Blake and Harper’s heartbreaking story is sweet and spicy. Their instant love story is a feel-good read. Another great story about the Colter family of Colorado. It is a light, quick read. The story is well-written and plot-driven. Marcus’s storylines adds an element of excitement. The characters are well-developed. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Blake and Harper, with two sections in Marcus’s POV. I rate this book 4.5 stars.
The love is still burning after 12 years apart and neither of them wanted anyone else for all the time. That is some strong feelings after only being together one time. Well written, romantic and engaging
JS never disappoints. It was a good story but I did feel it was more about Dani’s issues and less about Blake and Harper. It was still a good story just not one of my favorites. I’m on to Marcus’s story and there is so much I want to know about what makes him tick. Until next time y’all happy reading.
This series! Blake saved Harper when she ran away and when they were snowed in before he could return her home they were intimate and neither of them are the same. That weekend changed each of them, she mistook him for his twin brother and he never got over her. Now years later, Harper’s sister is missing and she has been kidnapped by terrorists in Syria and she goes to Marcus for help. Little does she know he was not the one who helped her before but he will go after her sister. Now while waiting she thinks he is still there but it is Blake and they finally straighten out their misunderstanding. Now she realizes why she didn’t feel anything with Marcus but all kinds of chemistry with Blake and that chemistry just gets better the more they really become acquainted. This one was so great. Love this series!
Billionaire Unknown: The Billionaire’s Obsession, Book Ten was another great read by J.S. Scott. Harper has been content with her life especially with her charity work for the homeless. Her sister Dani is an international correspondent who goes missing while on assignment. She decides to go to Marcus for help finding her sister even though she is still hurt from his actions in the past. While Marcus is looking for her sister she finds out that it was never Marcus who hurt her but she had an amazing time with his twin brother Blake. I asolutely loved reading Blake and Harper’s story and can’t wait to read more by J.S. Scott. Elizabeth Powers did a great job at bringing the characters to life.
Starts with the past where Harper at age 18 has run away and the her family has ask Marcus Colter to find her but he can’t so he ask his twin brother Blake to do it. Blake goes and find Harper and something happens between them. ( You have to read it yourself to find out. ) Then it goes to the present where Blake and Harper have gone there separate ways. Harper sister Dani is missing and she ask Marcus for help to find her. The Story drew me in and I love reading what happen! I recommend this book!!!!!
Audio Review: Billionaire Unknown ~ Blake (The Billionaire’s Obsession, #10) by J.S. Scott (Author), Elizabeth Powers (Narrator)
